Chapter 9
On Sunday Bella and Charlie spent the day at home. For the most part she spent her time reading and writing while he watched tv. Around noon her father brought her a sandwich, she opted to eat in her room.
They ordered pizza for dinner. This time Bella came down stairs to eat with her father. It was obvious to her Charlie's mood was still very low, But he was trying.
"So Bells, how was your day yesterday?"
She decided to not approach the topic that was bringing him down. She told him about the movie, and her friend's goofy behavior.
"It sounds like you had a good time." He gave her a tired smile.
"Did you know there's five new students arriving tomorrow?" Bella asked.
"Is there? That's exciting."
She told him all the predictions Her and her friends came up with. He laughed with her.
"Well, let's hope they're not vampires or werewolves. That will only make my job harder."
"And aliens won't?" she teased.
"As long as they are only here to learn, I am fine with aliens." He teased back.
Bella went to bed that night with a feeling of relief. Tomorrow she will no longer be the new kid.
