Chapter 13

Lauren stood there with a smile plastered on her face.

Jessica balled her fist and took an unconscious step forward. Bella put her hand on Jessica's shoulder to stop the girl from making a scene.

Even after Eric's announcement on the bus, Lauren was still hanging all over Mike. This did not help the friendship between the girls.

They wore fake smiles on their faces in front of Angela's parents. But even Alice, who had no idea what was going on could feel the tension. When they got into Angela's room there smiles dropped.

"What are you doing here?" Jessica hissed at Lauren.

"I figured my invitation got lost in the mail." She said cooly.

"It didn't, you just weren't invited." Jessica said through clenched teeth.

Speaking calmly the blonde girl replied. "Okay, then I guess that means I'm crashing. Unless you want to go explain to the Webers why you're kicking me out."

"Gladly,"

"Jess, wait. If you go out there and say something my parents will make you all leave."

Jessica made a frustrated growling sound.

Lauren just smirked.

Bella and Angela silently agreed not to say anything about Jessica's recent behavior due to their unexpected guest.

Alice tried to break the tension in the room by asking, "So, who's ready for makeovers?" She took a large makeup kit out of her overnight bag.

Over the next hour Angela, Jessica and a reluctant Bella all joined in the fun. Lauren entertained herself with her cellphone.

After the makeovers were done Mrs. Weber brought cupcakes for the girls that she made earlier in the day.

When they were finished eating they each took a turn in the shower and got into their pajamas; All except for Lauren that is.

When everyone was settled into their comfy clothes. They chose three games to play. Guess that tune, heads up, and would you rather were their top choices.

"Lauren, are you going to join us?" Angela asked.

"No." She scoffed. "The games are lame, this party sucks."

Jessica, who was trying and failing to hide her anger that the blonde was even there, lashed out. "Then why did you come here?"

Lauren shrugged. "I was bored."

"Really, you couldn't find a boy to go makeout with?" Jessica asked snidely.

Angela put her hands on Jessica's shoulders and led her to the other side of the room.

"How about we have fun playing the games and Lauren can play on her phone." She placated.

Lauren shrugged. "Sounds good to me."

Bella glanced over at Lauren. Why was she here if she had no interest in participating. Maybe she just didn't want to be alone. Even though Bella liked her alone time she can remember a time or two that she wished there was someone with her. Even if all they did was sit in silence.

Angela's voice brought Bella out of her musings. "Okay, for our first game we will play Name that tune. I will host, the first person to guess the song correctly before the lyrics begin gets a point.

Angela played twenty songs. At the end of the game Alice had ten points. Bella and Jesica both had four and a half points. They each guessed four correctly. They were awarded a half a point because even though they guessed wrong, the song they guessed had the same opening notes.

The next game they played was heads up. They had a lot of fun yelling and acting out clues trying to get the player to guess what was on their card. They lost count when trying to keep score on that game.

"Would you rather, Eat hot salad or cold soup." Angela started.

"Cold soup." Bella and Jesica agreed.

They all looked at Alice. "It depends on what soup and salad is being served."

"I don't think you get the way this is played." Jessica told her.

"Let's try another one." Bella suggested. "Would you rather get up very early or stay up very late?"

Angela said. "Get up very early." Jessica and Alice said "Stay up very late."

They continued on like this, most of the questions being innocuous, some were silly, and some were gross.

Around eleven Angela's mom came in to say goodnight. "Not too much later girls."

"Okay mom."

After Mrs Weber left the room Lauren asked. "Is she going to come back in here?"

"No, why?" Angela wondered.

"Because now the real party begins" She announced as she took a bottle of clear liquid out of her backpack along with a stack of small plastic cups. "And we play a fun game like, never have I ever." She said with a wicked smile.
