Title: The Taste of Pink

Rating: G

Chap: One-shot

I return! (: This is the second color poem and the second KK poem I have written.

-

When I step into the kitchen
The first thing I see is
Your pink shirt
Patches and stains mark it's age
Yet I find its familiarity comforting

You wish me a good morning
I return the sentiment
Even if it is a little high
I enjoy listening to your voice
Do you feel the same about me?

The smell of miso tantalizes my senses
I breathe deeply
Miso and laundry soap
Only you
Would be allowed such a unique scent

You raise a spoon to my lips
A routine movement to ensure the food is palatable
But if I close my eyes and only taste
I can pretend it is an intimate gesture
A stolen moment between lovers

Your fingers brush my chin
As you pull away
I open my eyes
Your back is already turned
All I see is pink

We join our friends
I repress a sigh
All I see is you

Once upon a time
Pink was my favorite color
But now

I'm not so sure

That ended on a more depressing note than I originally planned. :( I forgot toward the end that I had meant to work the theme color into each stanza with a sense. I was so mad at myself! I tried to fix it, but I realized if I started talking about how the miso soup reflected a pink tint it would not only be inaccurate, but totally ridiculous. -.- I wanted this poem to be taken seriously. Let me know your thoughts! (:
