Dared to Dream
I had a dream late last night;
A dream so soft, so warm, so bright.
It was a dream of Greek Gods and vast fields for planting,
And of ripe, sweet ambrosia that was so tempting.
You were in this beautiful dream,
Standing there waiting so patiently.
You smile, you waved, you reached for my hand,
So I would begin to understand.
You were standing alone waiting for me;
To give you my love, my heart openly.
I sighed as we kissed, we touched, we found each other;
I smiled when I knew there would never be another.
But love wasn't enough, this dream to keep;
I awoke alone and started to weep.
Is it too much, this thing I ask?
To find a love that will last and last?
I wanted you to love me for me;
To stand by my side for eternity.
Love is hard and ends too soon;
Yet I hope, I pray that dreams do come true.
