AN: Enjoy!

So, Wanda, Vision, and Billy headed out with Steve on a quest to bring poor Bucky Home. They left Tommy under the watchful eyes of Natasha and Carol. Though Tommy was definitely the twin most likely to give his super-babysitters trouble, he did love his Auntie Nat, and he would, usually, listen to Carol. Apart from Scott, and of course Clint, neither of whom lived at the Compound, Carol was the member of team who had the most experience with young children.

Though she had mostly been the 'fun Aunt' to her little Lieutenant Trouble, when you were as much of a presence in a child's life as Carol had been in Monica's, even fun relatives had to know how to be stern sometimes. Carol could when she needed to be, unlike Natasha, who's hard-ass reputation melted instantly around children. Despite a few occasional mishaps, Carol was also the one most capable of catching Tommy when he was speeding, which made her an ideal babysitter for him.

On the way to Bucky's hotel, Vision sat up the front with Steve, while Wanda was in the back with Billy. Not long after he had first met the twins, Tony had made sure that child restraints were installed in some of the Avenger's fleet of vehicles. However, these were no regular child seats. They were state-Of-the-art, Stark Tech child seats.

Tony had informed everyone that the seats had extra special features in place to protect the child in the event of an accident, though thankfully, no one had ever needed to see any of those special features in action.

"Billy strapped in nice and tight back there?" Steve asked as he drove.

"He is" Wanda grinned, while Billy giggled, and Vision turned to smile at them both. They were lucky that so many people loved their kids.

It was a rather long drive from the compound into the city, but not as long as the drive out from the Barton property. That trip, for Wanda and Vision, usually involved multiple stops for feeding and changing the boys. They'd only had to stop and change Billy once, and they'd fed him before they left, so they didn't notice the passage of time as much as Steve did.

Steve did not want Bucky to be alone any longer than he needed to be. He was eager to find his friend and bring him home.

Eventually, they reached the Hotel that Bucky had said he'd be staying in. It wasn't anywhere fancy. Though Bucky, like all the Avengers living at the compound, now received a monthly allowance, the former Winter Soldier was understandably uneasy about spending money that, at least partially, came from Tony Stark.

Steve talked the Receptionist into giving them Bucky's room number (which probably wasn't entirely legal, but there weren't really many people who could say no to Captain America), and all headed up.

He wasn't very happy to see them.

"Steve, I told you I'd be back in a few days after the kids left.." He frowned, then eyed Wanda, holding Billy. Billy waved at him, and Bucky almost smiled, but it quickly faded. "You shouldn't have brought him. I.."

"Billy only reads people involuntarily when he is asleep" said Wanda. "You are no danger to him."

"I still think.."

"We only want to speak with you" said Vision. "Just for a little while."

"If you still don't feel comfortable coming home, we will leave you be" said Wanda.

Steve was about to argue with this, then reluctantly nodded.

"Well.." Bucky hesitated.

"Pease?" asked Billy.

Well, he couldn't say no to to that. Bucky stepped aside to let them all in.

"Baiat bun" Wanda smiled proudly, while Vision, feeling equally proud, gently ruffled his hair.

"I'm sorry again.." Bucky glanced at Billy as they all entered the room. "He must have been so scared."

"For a little while.." Wanda admitted, "But he's okay now."

Billy nodded, but Bucky still frowned.

"I wouldn't want him to go through that again.. It's bad enough that I keep reliving it myself without dragging a poor innocent little kid into it.."

"We can't promise that it won't happen again.." said Vision, and Steve almost glared at him. "What? I won't make a promise that we cannot keep, Captain."

"Vision's right.. we can't promise that this won't happen again. And, I admit, your nightmares are especially horrible" Wanda added. "But you aren't the only one who's nightmares Billy sees.. he sees mine sometimes too, and yes, it upsets him for a while, like nightmares do for everyone.. but he gets through it. Sometimes I think that maybe he has this gift so that one day he can use it to help people" Billy touched her cheek, and Wanda smiled at him. "I won't make someone my son cares about stay away from him because of a nightmare."

"That's sweet" Bucky sighed. "But I'm sure your nightmares don't involve Hydra cutting off your arm."

"No" said Wanda, "But there's sometimes a little of them tearing me apart and reassembling me at a cellular level.." Billy whimpered at this, so Wanda handed him to Vision. Bucky looked a little surprised at her words, and Wanda realised that their shared Hydra past had never come up before. "My twin brother and I got our powers from Hydra experiments. Didn't you know that?"

"No" Bucky shook his head. "I didn't."

"I won't pretend to understand everything you went through.. But I'm far from ignorant to what Hydra is capable of" Wanda laid a comforting hand on Bucky's shoulder. "I struggle with it still sometimes too. And when we're struggling, we should be with the people who care about us."

"She's right, Buck" Steve cut in. "You should come home."

"Well.." Bucky hesitated.

"Pease?" said Billy.

After another few moments, a small smile spread over Bucky's face. He couldn't say no to that.

"Just let me pack my stuff.."
