Summary: Tragic events unfold in one day, which ultimately drive the Girl of Steel down a path of tyranny and destruction. Only the Emerald Archer and his allies can stop their former friend/ally, but with the heroes of Earth divided; lines are drawn, and loyalties and friendships are put to the test.

Prologue:
"I can say without a doubt that there are an infinite number of universes. Some are just like our own...but for one or two significant events, exactly the same."- Lex Luthor.
National City 12:00 PM:
We see a Catco Worldwide Media logo, and then the destroyed building of the DEO among the rubble of a destroyed National City, on fire.
Central City 10:00 AM:
As we clear the view of the smoke of another city, we see Central City on fire with various buildings destroyed, such as CCPD and STAR Labs.
ARGUS Base/Starling City: 12:01 PM:
All ARGUS agents view the destruction of both cities on the monitors on every news channel, most of them were either shocked, in denial, grieving, or angry; including the heroes of Central City, National City, Starling, Metropolis, and Gotham, as well as the Legends and other heroes. Even ARGUS Director Amanda Waller and Agent Lyla Michaels were too shocked to say anything.
In the interrogation room, which was heavily secured on the outside by ARGUS agents: The Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and Alex Danvers interrogate the men responsible for the destruction of both National and Central City; Adrian Chase and Lex Luthor.
"You took her fiance! You took the man she loved, my best friend, and their cities! Why?" Arrow snarled.
"After all these months, Oliver, do you really need any reasons from me? From us?" Chase sneered mockingly at Arrow.
"This has been between you and me, Chase. Why do this to her?!" Arrow demanded, slamming the table.
"Because everytime you and I fought, it always ended in a stalemate!" Chase sneered, answering Arrow's question.
"So, when Chase came to me, he thought of a plan so perfect it would surpass his original plan on how he broke you, and it was pure perfection at its best! Poor Kara Danvers, the look on her face when she lost her Barry Allen." Luthor mocked, as Arrow bowed his head solemnly, as he clenched his fists and closed his eyes, silently mourning the man he saw as his best friend and brother while hoping that Supergirl doesn't do something she'll regret for the rest of her life.
Flashback: National City: 5:10 AM:
At an abandoned warehouse in National City, the Arrow, alongside Arsenal and Spartan, fended off criminals; some who are on Chase's payroll and others who are on Lex Luthor's payroll. As Arrow and Arsenal shoot arrows to take down Chase and Luthor's men, while Spartan shoots bullets, additional men with heavy weapons arrive as reinforcements and within seconds; a crossfire ensues. Arrow, Arsenal, and Spartan, take cover behind one of the metal containers.
"They have us pinned down, and we're almost out of ammo! Arrow, what's our move?!" Arsenal shouted as they were surrounded and outmatched, as Arrow and Spartan continued to use what's left of their ammo.
Suddenly, a hole tears through the wall and Supergirl arrives in the nick of time to save the 3 vigilantes of Starling City. The armed men, although shocked at first, regained their composition and began opening fire on the Girl of Steel. Seeing that none of their weapons are working, Supergirl raises her eyebrow in confusion as the men begin to run out of ammo.
"Why would you even try to shoot bullets at me, if you already know that I'm the Girl of Steel?" Supergirl asked, amusingly confused.
Seeing that they're truly outmatched thanks to the arrival of Supergirl, all of Chase's and Luthor's men make a run for it and scurry off, scared as they left their incapacitated friends behind.
"We had that! But still, thank you, Supergirl." Arrow grumbled, but grateful that his friend arrived.
"Nice to see you too, Ollie. Roy, Dig, nice to see you guys as well." Supergirl greeted them with light sarcasm, then truly greeted them with happiness and joy.
"Same here, Kara" Spartan greeted.
"Don't mind Oliver, Kara. It's just that we've been following Chase on a trail that leads from Starling to here in National City, so we're here to find out why. We also found out that he was in Central City for some reason, but we're not sure why." Arsenal assured Supergirl.
"Oh, right… Chase. And if he's targeting Central City and National City, then we need to warn the DEO and Team Flash so that we can tell them to be on the lookout. Even though Barry may not have his powers, he should know, and we can trust that Caitlin, Cisco, Wally, and Harry can protect Central City." Supergirl said, with concern for her boyfriend's city and her city, also with anger towards the man who has attempted to break Oliver time after time; but as well hope that Team Flash and Team Arrow can take down Chase.
However, she feared how Barry would take on Chase while powerless (Barry had lost his powers a while ago during the final encounter between Devoe, the result of Devoe using Blackout's powers to siphon his powers, but Devoe had no idea what kind power he was dealing so the overload of Barry's connection to the Speed Force overloaded his mind and fried his brain.), even Team Flash are currently trying to find ways on how to restore Barry's powers, Barry is vulnerable and weak. So Wally has taken up the mantle of the Flash for now to protect Central City.
"We gave Barry's team the heads up already, we went to Central City a few days ago to tell them. Speaking of, how are you and Barry these days, and what's with the smile?" Arrow assured Supergirl of the situation, then asked his friend of her relationship with Barry Allen and why she's all smiling.
"Barry and I have news, Ollie." Supergirl started, smiling and blushing at the time. She then showed Oliver, Roy, and Dig a ring that was in her ring finger, they stared in surprise and with joy.
"Oh my God! Kara… Congratulations!" Arrow announced as he went to hug her, and Supergirl returned the hug, soon Spartan and Arsenal went to hug her as well.
"So Barry finally did it, he asked you to marry him. I'm happy for you both, and I'll have to congratulate him soon." Arrow said as he was happy that Barry and Suprgirl are finally tying the knot.
After Iris' death at the hands of Zoom, Barry fell into a pit of darkness; filled with guilt, sadness, hate, and even vengeance. He became rageful and stopped pulling his punches, even swearing to never love again. Everytime Barry went to patrol Central City, he was no longer the Flash, but Savitar. As Savitar, Barry became very violent and began beating evil villains and scumbag criminals to a pulp, like how Arrow does. His armor was a black, metallic, armored version of his suit with red lightning, with a voice modulator to strike fear into the criminals of Central City, and to show how Thawne and Zolomon broke him by taking the people he loved most away from him.
And over time, Supergirl, Arrow, Overwatch, Frost, Vibe, Kid Flash (This world's Wally before he became Flash), Harry, Henry, Joe, and the rest of Barry's friends and family were all starting to worry for Barry. So they planned an intervention to try and pull Barry out of the darkness, but it was Supergirl who succeeded out of the most. And after Barry was back to his true self, he began to inspire hope for his city as the Flash once more instead of embracing the darkness and vengeance as Savitar, and Supergirl and Barry began to grow closer than ever before; but Barry was hesitant to start something because he didn't want to dishonor Iris' memory and what they shared, so he spoke with Joe and Henry, and they both assured Barry that he was not dishonoring Iris because he knows that she would've wanted Barry to move on and that Barry deserves a chance at happiness.
So for the past 2 years, Supergirl and Barry have been dating and she moved in with her boyfriend, during their 9 months of dating, at his loft in Central City. While she currently lives with Barry, she still patrols National City as Supegirl, and Barry continues working with the CCPD as their top forensic scientist.
"Thank you, Ollie!" Supergirl sighs contently.
"I love him! I love him! I LOVE HIM!" Supergirl exclaimed passionately
"Well, we'd love to stay and chat…" Spartan began to say, but was cut off by Oliver.
"But we have to catch Chase, but still, congratulations, Kara. We'll be out of your city once we take down Chase. Do you mind cleaning this up?" Arrow says as he, Roy, and Dig make their way to leave, about to leave Supergirl behind to bring the incapacitated criminals to NCPD.
"No, not at all, but one more thing, Oliver." Supergirl says, halting them before they go as Oliver looks back at Kara.
"Barry and I, we decided that we want you and Laurel to be godparents to our child, if we ever have kids." Supergirl said, taking Arrow aback, with Spartan and Arsenal looking at each other with knowing looks at what's about to happen. Once Oliver regained his composure, Arrow stepped forward to hug Supergirl as a sign of gratitude, respect and familial love. Surprised, Supergirl hugged her friend back and let him go afterwards.
"Thanks, Ollie. Now go and stop Chase and Luthor" Supergirl encouraged the three Starling vigilantes
And with that; The Arrow, Arsenal and Spartan all left the warehouse with Supergirl picking up and dropping Chase and Luthor's men off at NCPD.
DEO Headquarters: 7:00 AM:
The Danvers Family (Sentinel, Eliza and Jeremiah), J'onn, Superman, James Olsen, Winn Schott, Maggie Sawyer, Lena Luthor, and even Valor all congratulate Supergirl on her engagement with Barry, with cheers, applause, and hugs.
"Congratulations, Kara! Lois and I are happy for you." Said Clark Kent, Superman, hugging his cousin.
"Thanks, Clark." Supergirl said, hugging her cousin back.
"Aww, Kara, I'm so happy for you!" Said Eliza Danvers, hugging her adoptive daughter through emotional, happy tears.
"Thanks, Eliza. I'm happy as well." Said Supergirl, thanking her adoptive mother
"Congratulations, sweetheart." Said Jeremiah Danvers, hugging his adoptive daughter.
"Thanks, Jeremiah." Supergirl thanked her adoptive father
"Proud of ya, Danvers" Said Maggie Sawyer.
"Thanks, Maggie!" Supergirl said, thanking her possible future sister-in-law
"Congratulations, Kara! I'm so happy for you!" Said Winn Schott, hugging her best friend
"Thanks, Winn!" Supergirl hugged Winn back.
"Congrats, Kara!" Said James Olsen, Guardian
"Thanks, James."
Suddenly, Kara's phone rang.
"Oh hold on. Hello?" She took it out of her pocket, and saw that it was from her job and answered.
"Congratulations on your engagement, Kiera." Said Cat Grant, over the phone.
"M-Ms. Grant? Uh t-thank you! H-How did you know?" Supergirl stammers, wondering how Cat Grant got her number.
"James told me." Cat said, as Kara looked at James, who played coy, as she playfully glared at him.
Now, as my wedding gift to you, I will be planning your wedding budget and catering; if it's alright with you." Cat offered
"Thanks Ms. Grant, but please let my friends and my foster mom help out on that as well." Kara said.
"Of course, Kara, and don't worry about paying me back; consider this my wedding gift to you and Mr. Allen, to the best employee/assistant I've ever met and for the person who I see as a daughter. Now take the day-off, you've earned it, and congratulations once again." Cat said as she congratulated Supergirl once more.
"Thank you, Ms. Grant, see you tomorrow!" Supergirl thanked, and then ended the phone conversation.
"About time, sis, I always knew that Barry was gonna ask you." Said Sentinel, congratulating and hugging her sister. She knew that Barry was planning to ask her.
"Thanks, Alex." Supergirl said, smiling.
"But if he breaks your heart, I'll find him and hurt him real bad, with or without powers!" Alex threatened playfully.
"ALEX!" Exclaimed Supergirl.
"KIDDING! I'm kidding, Kara." Sentinel said, assuring her sister. She always knew that Supergirl and Barry were going to get married at some point and she can't wait to ask Maggie the same question soon, just not yet.
"Kara, congratulations!" Said Lena, approaching her best friend and hugging her.
"Thanks, Lena." Said Supergirl, hugging her best friend.
"Congratulations, Kara, I know we may be "just friends" now, so I say this as a friend: May your lives be full of happiness and love for the rest of your days under Rao's light." Valor said to his former girlfriend, now best friend.
"Thank you, Mon-El. It really makes me feel happy that you're ok with this." Said Supergirl, grateful for Valor's blessing and encouragement.
"Anytime, Kara. Even though we're not together as a couple anymore, I'll be there for you as your friend. I hope we can still be friends." Valor asked, hoping for a friendship.
"I appreciate that, Mon-El. And yes, we can still be friends." Supergirl answered, hugging him in response as Valor returned the hug.
Central City Police Department/Barry's Science Lab: 9:05 AM:
Vibe, Frost, Flash (Wally) Elongated Man, Harry Wells, Jesse, alongside Julian Albert, Patty Spivot and David Singh, Joe, Cecile, and all of the CCPD Officers congratulate Barry on his engagement with Kara, with cheers, applause, and hugs. Once Singh and all of the other CCPD workers go, excluding Joe, Patty, and Julian, to do their job, all of Team Flash (including Cecile) continue to congratulate Barry.
"My dude, congratulations! Let me be one of your best men for your wedding" Vibe said, as congratulated his best friend.
"We'll see Cisco."
"Congratulations, Allen! I wish you and Ms. Danvers the best wishes" Earth-2 Wells said, as he congratulated his friend
"Thanks, Harry."
"Barry, I'm so happy for you!" Cecile said to her adoptive stepson.
"Thanks, Cecile." Hugging his adoptive stepmother. (Joe and Cecile are married in this story.)
"Congratulations, Barry! I wish the best for you and Kara." Frost said, wishing her best friend the happiness he deserves.
"Thanks, Cait." Hugging his best friend.
"I'm happy for you, Barry, I wish you and Kara well." Patty said, as she congratulated her former boyfriend, now best friend.
"Thanks, Patty." Barry said, hugging his ex-girlfriend, now best friend.
"Congrats, mate. Here's to you and Ms. Danvers." Julian said.
"Thanks, mate." Barry said, with a British accent, as the others laughed at his accent.
"Congrats man! This is what Iris would've wanted for you." Flash (Wally) said to Barry, as he congratulated his mentor/foster brother.
"Wally's right, Bar. Iris would be very happy for you right now" Joe said to Barry, as he agreed with his son.
"I know." Barry sighed solemnly, looking down as he silently mourned for Iris and blames himself for what happened. Joe, Caitlin, and Cisco saw the sadness and guilt in Barry's eyes, so they tried a different approach.
"Barr, I know you blame yourself for what happened to Iris; but I never blamed you for it because it was not your fault." Joe assured his son.
"Joe's right, Barry. We've lost so many people closest to us in the last 4 years; Eddie, Ronnie, H.R, and Iris. You felt responsible and yet, we've never blamed you for that because it was not your fault." Frost said as she thought of her lost husband.
"They're right, man. Never blame yourself for anything " Vibe said, comforting his friend.
"Thanks Cisco." Barry said, thankful for the comfort he was receiving. Even though he'll always love Iris, Barry knows that she would've wanted him to move on and find love again.
"Allen, I'm sorry to interrupt your congratulations but we got a report of a weapons deal in one of the shipping yards downtown; and I need you Albert, West, and Spivot to go down there to see what's going on." Captain Singh said, entering into Barry's crime lab.
"We're on it, Captain" Joe said, as Barry, Patty, and Julian, scattered to get ready.
"Be ready, and don't engage until we arrive with a warrant and a team. And Allen, once again, congratulations on your engagement." Captain said, leaving, as he congratulated Barry once more before the lab.
"Thanks Captain." Said Barry.
"Do you guys need our help?" Caitlin asked.
Nah, we got this. Barry confidently said
Are you sure, rookie? Elongated Man asked
"We're sure, Ralph. But if it gets suspicious, we'll call you guys, ok?" Barry assuringly said.
"Ehh, sure thing." Elongated Man said.
"Alright, you heard the Captain! Barry and Julian, I need you two in the surveillance van so you can be our eyes and ears. Patty, you're with me. We leave in 5 minutes, let's go!" Joe said, as Barry, Julian, and Patty got the last of their needed equipment.
"Yes, sir!" And with that, Joe and Patty head to their patrol car, as Barry and Julian head to the surveillance van to monitor the deal.
After they left, Vibe felt tense for some reason and sat down on a chair. Frost, Flash(Wally), Cecile, and Elongated Man saw this so they wanted to make sure that he was feeling ok.
"You OK, Cisco?" Frost asked, concerned for her best friend as she knelt down next to him.
"I'm not sure why, but I get the feeling that something bad is going to happen today." Vibe said ominously, and they felt the atmosphere become thick.
"Well, whatever it is, we can handle it. Speaking of, we should head back to S.T.A.R. Labs." Ralph said, hoping to lighten the mood.
10 Minutes Later/ 9:14 AM:
After arriving at the shipping yard, Joe and Patty spy on the dealers as they begin their trade, on top of the shipping containers. Meanwhile, Barry and Julian watch the entire thing go down through a CCPD surveillance van.
"Barry, Julian, we're in position. You two read?" Patty asked as she and Joe took position on the shipping containers, with the two taking a sniping position.
"Loud and clear, Patty." Barry responded as he and Julian were inside the CCPD surveillance van, as all systems were online and ready.
"Crystal clear, Detective." Julian responded
"Alright then, let's do this." Joe said.
20 Minutes Later/9:31 A.M:
After watching the deal go on for a while through the van, Joe and Patty continue to survey on top the shipping containers. And while in the van, Barry starts to realize something.
"Joe, something's not right here." Barry said, knowing there was something ominous about this meeting.
"I think you're right, Barr. It's been 20 minutes and I get the feeling that there is something suspicious of this. Joe says, with him and Patty knowing that there is something wrong, but before he can say anything else, he sees someone nearing the dealers; a man from the looks of him
Hold on, I think I see someone approaching, a man in black trench coat with a fedora. Joe said, as he saw the mysterious man through a pair of binoculars. The man was about somewhere in late 40s to early 50s.
"Wait a minute. Joe, Barry, is that… who I think it is?" Patty suspected, with fear as they all began to grow pale as they saw the figure's full appearance. It was Damien Darhk!
"Damien Darhk! West, Spivot, you two need to get out of there now!" Julian ordered, as he saw Darhk through the surveillance van.
"Not yet, Julian! We just need to wait for the Captain." Joe commanded.
"What good is waiting if it costs you your own life?! I'm going out there with you two!" Julian said as he took off his headset and got out of his seat.
"No, Julian! STOP! Julian!" Barry shouted, trying to stop Julian as the ominous tension grew more and more thick with fear.
Just as Julian opened the door to leave the van, a figure in black clothing with hood and a fully-covered mask, Adrian Chase, shot an arrow through Julian's chest; instantly killing him as he coughed blood out of his mouth.
"JULIAN!"
"JULIAN! Patty, we got to go now! We have to…" Joe said, getting up to help Julian and Barry. But before he could say another word, Joe received two arrows to the chest; courtesy of crossbows that Chase placed moments earlier.
"JOE!" Patty cried as she caught Joe's body and hugged him tight, in denial and with tears streaming on her face. Suddenly, Patty saw Chase nearing her, so she took out her gun and tried to shoot him, but Chase then deflected the gun with a flechette, making her drop the gun.
"NO, NO, PLEASE, NO—!" Patty pleaded as she attempted to crawl away backwards, but her efforts were in vain, for she was the last one to be killed by Chase; slain by his sword.
"JOE! PATTY!" Barry cried, as tears streamed down his face as he mourned for his fallen friends and foster father.
Then, Chase returned, walking towards Barry as he cleaned his sword of Patty's blood. Barry paled as he got closer and struggled to free himself from the chains that currently bind him.
"Make one more noise, Allen, and I will put this sword through your heart." Chase promised, nearing his sword to Barry's chest, which ultimately forced Barry no choice but to comply.
Barry was then knocked out cold by Lex Luthor, who used his handgun to knock him in the head
"What? No powers and he didn't even fight back? So… stupid." Lex stated.
"Time to go Luthor, the cops will be here any moment and our plan is not yet complete." Chase ordered.
"Augh, I got some Julian on my shoe." Chase said, faking to be disgusted as continued to step his foot on Julian's blood as he laughed sadistically
National City/8:38 AM:
As Arrow, Arsenal and Spartan, enter an L-Corp Subsidiary, they find multiple guards dead; all with arrows in their chests.
"This can't be real…" Spartan muttered, looking at the corpses of the guards.
"But it is, John. It is… But what did he steal from here? And who was he working with?" Arrow replied, as he pondered what Chase was here for.
Central City/10:40 AM:
The CCPD arrived moments later, as well as Team Flash and Cecile and they saw the massacre that occurred here.
"JOE! OH NO! NO!" Cecile wailed, heartbroken as she tried to get to Joe's body, which was currently being loaded into the coroner's van; alongside Julian's and Patty's bodies, but Flash (Wally) and Singh held her back as she broke down in tears.
"Patty…!" Elongated Man lowered his head, mourning his friend.
Julian… No…" Vibe said as he and Frost witnessed the massacre, but then they all realized someone was missing.
"Wait! Where's Barry?!" Elongated Man asked, as he looked around for the "rookie"
National City/8:44 AM:
"Ms. Luthor, you were experimenting with kryptonite. We would like to know why." The Arrow questioned Lena Luthor, as Martian Manhunter, Winn, Sentinel, Guardian, Maggie, and Valor investigated the crime scene, including some DEO agents and police officers.
"Not to hurt Supergirl or Superman, I wanted to know if it could be used for beneficial needs; either as a clean, alternative energy source or a way to cure disease. Arrow, I'm a scientist trying to right my family's wrongs, I'm not a monster." Lena truthfully said.
"It's in the hands of a monster now, Luthor!" Spartan snapped, making Lena, Winn, Maggie, Valor take a step back, as well as the DEO agents and NCPD officers.
"Spartan! Restraint!" The Arrow commanded.
"Apologies for that Ms. Luthor, we believe your claim but my colleague's right, it's in the hand of a monster. We'll need a list of everyone who was involved with the project." Arrow said, and just as he requested for something; as a blur zoomed in the lab, it was Supergirl.
"There was an incident in Central City! Joe, Patty, and Julian! They're dead, and they can't find Barry! A-And I can't find him either! I can't see him, I can't hear him…!" Supergirl panicked, worried for fiance.
"SUPERGIRL! We're not alone!" Arrow interrupted, reminding her where they were.
Then, Supergirl saw a flechette, belonging to Chase, and a note from Lex Luthor. And instantly, everyone in the room paled for this was the moment that Supergirl's nightmare has come true.
"He has him?! Help me! PLEASE!" Supergirl pleaded to Arrow, Spartan, and Arsenal, as they immediately agreed on what to do and they all nodded to Supergirl.
Supergirl then zoomed out of the lab, hoping to find Barry, with the 3 members of Team Arrow running out of the lab as well, with Valor and Guardian behind them. Lena leaves last and heads to her main office
"Overwatch! Patch me through the DEO, Waverider, and S.T.A.R. Labs communications, now!" Arrow commanded, as he tapped the com device in his suit.
"Done and done!" Overwatch said.
"This is the Arrow, initiating a primary call to all members of the Justice League, current and reserve! We need as many of you as we can spare in Central City and National City, one of our own is missing!" Arrow ordered, as he detailed the situation.
The Temporal Zone:
"Oliver, you really want all of us on a missing persons' case?" Ray Palmer, Atom, asked incredulously as the Legends heard the ongoing message.
"Yes! We believe that he was taken by Chase and Lex!" Arrow snarled, demanding everyone to take this seriously.
"Elongated Man, Vibe, Frost, and I are on our way." Flash said, on his comms.
"And who is this person, Robin Hood?" Mick Rory, Heatwave, asked.
"He's one of us, it's Barry!" Arrow revealed, to everyone's shock.
"Barry?! No…!" Valor asked on the open channel, as all were shocked at this revelation.
"Mon-El, Barry was last seen at the Central City docks. Find out if anyone saw him, Lex, or Chase. I'll meet you there!" The Arrow ordered as he, Arsenal, and Spartan went to their vehicles, and rode away.
"I'm on my way, Arrow!" Valor said as he flew out of the L-Corp Subsidiary at high speed, thanks to his Legion Ring.
National City/8:50 AM:
Back at L-Corp, Lena stares at her office window and ponders on what to do. Looking back, Lena promised Supergirl that if she ever needed anything, she'd be there to help out. And it's here that Lena makes a decision; she will help Kara find Barry Allen, but not without the proper suit.
As Lena heads to her lab by elevator, she taps her watch and it activates a holographic image of an artificial consciousness.
"Good day to you, Miss Luthor." The AI, Hope, greeted.
"If only, Hope. Bring up the schematics of the 'Keeper Protocol'. Is it finished?" Lena requested.
"Yes, Miss Luthor. Flight and combat systems are ready and fully functional, as well as all other systems. And as oxygen levels are at 100%." Hope said, as she brought up schematics for an exosuit similar to Lex's, but coded only for her own style. The armor was a purple and black styling and is made of dwarf star alloy, it had wrist-mounted blasters, a cape attached to the armor, and a detachable sword made of Nth metal on the left hand of the armor, a protective helmet to conceal her identity, and it contained the symbol of the House of El.
"Excellent work, Hope. Power up the suit, we have an emergency and I believe that it's time." Lena complimented and ordered.
"Very well, Ms. Luthor. Initiating the 'Madame Steel' armor." Hope complied to her creator's order and started the preparations.
Lena stepped into the 'Madame Steel' armor, which was now suiting up around her.
"We'll find him, Kara." She promised.
Now fully armored, Madame Steel flies to a secret passage made only for her armor and takes to the skies of National City.
Central City/11:40 AM
After almost an hour of looking for Barry Allen, Arrow came to a realization of something.
"Wally, we need Cisco, Ralph, and Caitlin to search for Barry in one of Chase's homes; see if he is in a basement or in an attic, and be careful of traps!" Arrow commanded.
"We're on it!" Flash said, as they arrived at one of the last places that Chase was at.
As they looked around, to make sure that this place wasn't either booby-trapped, Elongated Man accidentally stepped on a tile on the floor which revealed a trap; flamethrowers.
"GUYS! GET DOWN!"
Elongated Man then shielded Flash, Frost, and Vibe from the fire and intense heat, at the cost of him receiving severe burns from the back.
This goes on for two whole minutes and now that the flamethrowers are out of fuel, Elongated Man immediately falls to the ground and rolls around to stop the agonizing pain.
"Ralph! Don't move." Frost emphasized, as she began to coat Ralph's body with ice to stop the pain, and hopefully heal him.
"Arrow, we need a medevac to our location, Elongated Man is down! One of Chase's traps. He's alive, but I'm not sure if he's gonna make it through." Flash frantically said, as he called for help for Elongated Man.
"Alright then, the Legends are on their way via Waverider so they can give Ralph some medical attention, but I'm suggesting that they'll need Caitlin's help since she's an expert in metahuman physiology." Arrow said, as he cursed Chase in his mind.
"Sara's interrogating one of the thugs so I'll call you and Cisco where to meet us once we get a location. Good try anyway, Wally." Arrow said.
"Oliver, Supergirl, Chase's men told us that Chase and Luthor are no longer Central City. They stole a submarine and took Barry with them, so they could be somewhere in the ocean." White Canary said, via communications.
National City/9:40 AM:
As she flew above the water, Supergirl used her x-ray vision to find the submarine and hopefully Barry. And she did, but she saw that something was missing in the submarine.
"I found it! Arrow, I found it!" Supergirl said, as she dove down and swam through the water.
Supergirl then caught the submarine and lifted it out of the ocean and put it down at a nearby dock. She then hauls the door and runs inside, unaware of the atmosphere she's breathing in.
"Barry! Barry! Where are you!" Supergirl shouts, hoping to hear from her fiance.
She arrives to see Lex Luthor and Prometheus standing over something. As Supergirl tries to say something, she struggles to breathe due to the atmosphere and hallucinates, as well as dazed for a minute before regaining composure; but when she coughs into her hand, she coughs up blood in her hand and realizes that kryptonite poisoning is coursing through her.
"WHERE IS HE?!" Supergirl demanded, and as they started back away, a figure emerged and rose. It was Rhea, Queen of Daxam.
"Hello, Daughter of Krypton." Rhea greeted, in a hostile and vicious voice
"RHEA?! BUT HOW?!" Supergirl questioned, demanding to know how Rhea was back considering she was killed years ago.
"That is not important. What's important is that your world is mine, Kara Zor-El! I will take everyone you love away from you, starting with your boyfriend!" "Rhea" promised.
"NO! NOT THIS TIME! NEVER AGAIN!" Supergirl snarled, punching Rhea out of the submarine and taking the battle to space.
"Perfect, everything is going according to our plan. Soon, the Age of Heroes will be no more!" Luthor said, looking up in the sky through the dent that Supergirl made.
However, before he and Chase could get away fully, a blaster shot the ground and the villainous duo stopped and looked up in the sky to see Madame Steel in the air, aiming at the two.
"YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, LEX!" Madame Steel shouted in her armor.
"Lena?!" Lex realized, both in confusion and betrayal.
"That's Madame Steel to you, brother!" Madame Steel snarled.
"Why side with those heroes over your own flesh and blood?!" Lex asked in a hurtful tone.
"Because they're my friends." Madame Steel declared, showing her true loyalty.
A breach opened and the trio looked to see who it was; it was the Arrow, alongside his Team, Superman and Supergirl's Superfriends, the Flash and Vibe, and White Canary and the Legends.
"Adrian Chase and Lex Luthor, on your knees! NOW!" Arrow ordered, as he notched an arrow while the other heroes held their weapons and/or fighting stances, readying themselves to fight.
Seeing that they were outmatched and outnumbered, Lex and Chase had no choice but to stand down, and the heroes cuffed the two with A.R.G.U.S. based restraining devices. And none of the heroes were aware that this was part of the villains' plan.
"Where is Barry Allen?!" Flash demanded, wanting to know where his foster brother was and how he was.
Superman was about to enter the submarine, but Madame Steel stopped him.
"Superman, wait! The atmosphere's filled with silver kryptonite and red kryptonite, step inside and you'll be hallucinating your worst fears and lashing out at those closest to you!" Madame Steel warned the Man Of Steel, and he stepped away from the submarine.
Madame Steel scans the sub, but the computers reveal that there are two objects missing.
"I'm afraid we have big trouble, Miss Luthor." Hope warned.
"Tell me something I don't know, Hope." Madame Steel said, in a tone that 'you think?'.
"It would appear that there are two nuclear warheads missing from the submarine."
What?! Madame Steel, shouted making everyone look at her in concern in bewilderment
"Arrow, I just did a complete scan of the submarine and my artificial intelligence just told me that there are two nuclear warheads missing!" Madame Steel said to everyone's shock, except for Chase and Lex as they chuckled evilly.
"What did you do, Chase?!" Arrow snarled viciously, as he turned to Chase, demanding answers.
"I'm pulling the greatest trick of all, Oliver. It will be my…GREATEST SUCCESS!" Chase revealed to the Arrow as he laughed maniacally, all while everyone's eyes widened in horror and instantly paled in realization of what he meant.
"Supergirl, stop! Whatever you're seeing, IT'S NOT REAL!" Arrow shouted up in the sky, as he tapped his com device, hoping that Supergirl would hear what he said.
Supergirl heard it immediately and stopped what she was doing. As Rhea's body floated in space, the silver kryptonite faded out of Supergirl's body and her eyes widened in horror to see who it really was; Barry!
"Barry…?"
As Supergirl can only watch with horror at what she has done, she nears Barry, hopefully hearing for a heartbeat, and x-rays him and sees two mini-devices, which she believes to be triggers, in his heart.
Central City: 11:50 AM/National City: 9:50 AM:
At the same, two bombs, which have heart monitors on them, flatline and they go off; instantly killing everyone (from Captain Singh, Dinah Lance, Harry Wells, Jesse Wells, Winn Schott, Maggie Sawyer, Jeremiah and Eliza Danvers, and Cat Grant) in Central City and National City in simultaneous nuclear blasts.
All of the heroes watched the explosion of Central City in horror, while the two villains evily smiled.
"Boom." Chase and Lex said simultaneously, and laughed sadistically while Vibe opened a breach.
"EVERYONE INTO THE BREACH OR GET TO THE WAVERIDER! NOW!" Vibe yelled, as all of the heroes jumped into the breach or made it to Waverider, taking Chase and Luthor with them. As all of the heroes enter, the breach closes at the last second and the Timeship makes a time jump, both nearly missing the blast.
National City 9:00 AM:
As Supergirl descends from the sky, slowly, with Barry in her arms, she shuts her eyes to avoid the damage and casualties of National City. Once she fully descends and lands her knees on the ground, she clutches on to Barry's body hard and slowly opens her eyes to view the destruction of her city, her home.
With tears streaming down on her face, Supergirl lets out a cry of anguish on the tragedies that have fallen on her today, as she starts sobbing into Barry's chest.
End Flashback/National City 10:05 PM (1 Hour and 5 Minutes Later):
As Supergirl continued to silently cry and hold on to Barry's body, she didn't notice Madame Steel and behind her.
"Kara, I am so sorry."
Supergirl looked up and saw Madame Steel, and while the suit was lined with lead, she instantly realized that it was Lena in the armor.
"Lena, I killed him. I killed them!" Supergirl said in a broken tone, as she sobbed.
"No! Those bastards orchestrated this. They're responsible, only them." Madame Steel assured Supergirl.
As Supergirl closed her eyes, she kissed Barry's cheek and spoke to her lost love for one last time.
"Forgive me for what I have done, my love." Supergirl said, as she prayed for Barry's forgiveness for what happened.
"And forgive me, Rao, for what I am about to do." Supergirl said, as she also prayed for Rao's forgiveness for what she was about to do.
Lena, will you keep him safe?" Supergirl asked Madame Steel, passing Barry to her.
"Yes." Madame Steel held Barry, and Supergirl took off to the sky to avenge her Barry.
As Supergirl flew to find Lex and Chase, Valor flew beside to console her and hopefully to talk her out of her vengeance.
"Kara, are you ok?" Valor asked, hoping can get through to her.
"WHERE ARE THEY?! WHERE ARE CHASE AND LEX?! Supergirl angrily demanded, taking Valor aback.
"Arrow took him to A.R.G.U.S., but I don't think that you should be anywhere near them." Valor revealed, to her Supergirl's satisfaction. As Supergirl was about to fly to A.R.G.U.S., Valor blocked her path.
"Kara, wait! Be reasonable. You have had an unimaginable loss, you need to take time to process what happened!" Valor pleaded to Supergirl, hoping that she'll listen to reason, but that just made her more angry.
"TIME?! WHAT IF THIS WAS ME OR IMRA?! OR THE FUTURE! TELL ME IF YOU WOULDN'T HAVE DONE THE SAME THING!" Supergirl yelled at Valor, who couldn't but look down, knowing she was right on the hand while he knows what must be done, even if he doesn't like it.
"NOW UNLESS YOU WANT TO BECOME MY ENEMY, GET OUT OF MY WAY!" Supergirl demanded.
"I'm sorry, but no!" Valor said as he took a fighting stance, and the two friends charged at each other.
10 Minutes Later:
Supergirl was gaining the upper advantage due to her powers and Red Kryptonite, with Valor losing despite his advanced combat training. Valor was beaten, laying on the ground bleeding and sporting a black eye while his suit was damaged and dirty.
"STAY DOWN! IF I WANTED TO, YOU'D BE DEAD ALREADY!" Supergirl ordered as she did not want to kill her friend.
Valor hesitated, but he had no other choice.
"I yield! But please, don't do this, otherwise you'll regret it for years to come." Valor said, with his voice hoarse from the fighting and damage he took, as well as pleading that Supergirl will come to her senses.
"I already have! And also… stay out of my way!" Supergirl stated, giving Valor one last warning before taking off.
"Forgive me for not being there in time, my friend. But I promise you that I will be there for her and I will make sure that she doesn't lose her way." Valor apologized to Barry, for he had failed his friend. While Valor has failed Barry, he will make sure that he doesn't fail with Kara.
ARGUS Base/Starling City: 12:21 PM:
"You saw your father take his own life so that you could live, and then you saw your own mother die at the hands of Slade Wilson; and look at you now, a broken, violent Robin Hood." Chase taunted Arrow, as the vigilante of Star City silently mourned for his best friend and ignored Chase's taunts.
"So what do you think she'll become? Hmm?" Chase still continued to taunt Arrow.
"A goddess who deluded herself into believing she was just a human? What will Supergirl turn into?" Chase said, snapping the Arrow out of his thoughts.
"There are some people even you can't corrupt or destroy, Chase." Arrow said, trying to deflect Chase's words.
"Oh Queen, do you honestly think she'll still be fun to play with?" Chase mocked.
"She'll mourn, she'll grieve, and she'll cry, but she will continue to be one of the best people I know." Arrow said, unaware that the future has already taken root in the present.
"Oh no, Oliver! This time, this loss will have a lasting impact on all of you, and the world will burn in hellfire." Chase cryptically warned, before laughing maniacally.
"I will make sure that you will NEVER hurt an innocent again!" Having enough, Arrow snapped, about to fulfill a promise.
"And how will you do that, Oliver? Imprison me?! I'll only escape prison, again and again and again." Chase taunted Arrow, as he had him right where he wanted.
"True, but I have a better idea in mind. For Barry, for Central City, National City, and Starling City; I will kill you!" Arrow said, now reaching his ultimatum.
Adrian smirked, realizing that he finally has Arrow where he wants him to be.
"ADRIAN CHASE! YOU HAVE FAILED THIS…!" Arrow counted down as he notched an arrow, but they heard something shake the building; and it was no earthquake but rather, Supergirl destroying wall and wall to find Chase and Luthor.
Supergirl then arrived, destroying the interrogation room wall as she viewed Chase with a hateful and vengeful look in her eyes.
"Supergirl?!"
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Supergirl demanded, in a monstrous voice.
"Supergirl, leave now! I'm handling this!" Arrow commanded.
"YOU DRUGGED ME! TRICKED ME! MADE ME…! Barry…! Jeremiah…! Eliza…! Cat…!" Supergirl yelled, with hate and vulnerability.
"Isn't it so pathetic that the Girl of Steel, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, with abilities and powers that surpasses that of mortal men, chose a life of human comfort and saving lives rather than being worshiped as a goddess?" Chase mocked the Girl of Steel.
"Shut up!" Supergirl warned.
"First Krypton, now National City. I mean people you love tend to die a lot, don't they?" He taunted, raising her temper
"I SAID SHUT UP!" Supergirl snarled.
"I mean, first your biological parents, and now your adoptive parents." Chase continued.
"SHUT UP!"
"And now your best friend, your mother-like figure, your city, and your fiance, all because you act so much like a girl scout." Chase finished.
Seeing red with hate, Supergirl lifts Chase in the air, choking him, and Arrow jumps in to stop her
"SUPERGIRL, NO!"
"Kara, please don't do this!" Arrow pleads, nearing and attempting to reason with her, but Supergirl pushes him away.
"Do it! Because either way, the world will see you for who you truly are; a goddess who wishes that her subjects bow before her." Supergirl's eyes glowed blue, with heat vision ready to fire while raising her fist..
"And I know it's soon, but will you ever love again? Who knows, maybe you won't kill your next fiance." Chase taunted, while struggling to breathe.
Finally having enough, Supergirl drove her hand through Chase's chest, killing him, with Arrow staring in shock.
"Now, do you see, Oliver?" Chase's final words to Arrow as he takes his final breath.
Supergirl removes her hand and looks down at Chase's body with a pleasurable victory, while Arrow looks at the former, horrified at what she's done.
Then she walks out of the interrogation room and walks to the next room over, with Lex in containment. She glares at the business madman, and for the first time in his life; Lex Luthor actually felt fear as Supergirl started to vaporize him with her own heat vision, as he screamed in agonizing pain.
