"Gramps, please!" A winged boy begged as he was pulled towards a machine. His grandfather did nothing as he door closed.
"I'm not sorry for what I did, Tsubasa. I AM sorry for why it had to be done. You were a good baby...shame you were such a shit kid."
"Worry not." All for One said. "It was for a good cause; he'll be far more than he could've been on his own."
The doctor didn't seem convinced.
"Where did I go wrong?"
It wasn't easy, balancing so many identities and duties, but he'd like to think he had done okay...and then his grandson became a punk with a superiority complex but no actual power or skill to back it up.
All for One:"...If it helps Ujiko?" All for One, uncharacteristically gentle, mused. "At least your family still talked to and trusted you. Inko-chan...well..How is Izuku adjusting? You DID manage to sneak that nuero-optic camera into him, right?"
The doctor made no comment on how quick his master changed subjects and scanned his notes.
"Indeed. He seems to be settling in well at UA High."
"Good." The Symbol of Evil smiled. "This will also do well to keep an eye on what the Heroes are planning. That way, we'll be two steps ahead of them."
The doctor suddenly seemed worried.
"...Ujiko?" All for One asked.
"You might be...less than pleased to know that I have located not only the next One for All User, but that Toga child you were looking for."
For all the good, there must come the bad. Toga's case was very public and known, but the One for All users...All for One took a deep breath and tried to focus on the positive
"Who is the newest wielder?"
"...Katsuki Bakugo is the 10th user."
All for One remembered Mitsuki Bakugo; a very bright, vibrant and beautiful woman...and the one who had helped instill in his precious baby girl her want to be 'normal.'
Yes, suffice to say and as petty as it may be...the great super-villain LOATHED the Bakugo name to an extent that nearly eclipsed his hate for All Might. Speaking off which...
"Wait...you said tenth...that means."
"Yes..." Ujiko whimpered. "One for All is also in Himiko Toga. I don't know how or why, but my source in All Might's agency is almost as trustworthy as Nighteye..."
The Symbol of Evil said nothing, his world silent.
"...Eh...Excuse me, Ujiko."
He then went into another room; a room filled with breakable things that was soundproofed...and let out such a furious scream it was heard throughout the universe as the legendary super-villain then let out EVERY curse he knew as he began to break anything in his path
"...Doc. Who the hell pissed off sensei?" Tomura asked.
"You don't need to know, Shigaraki...trust me, you DON'T."
Tomura then went back to his room and to drown out Sensei's screaming, watched Loony Tunes instead of his usual Call of Duty game-play or snuff movies
A few hours later...
All for One reentered the room, taking deep breathes as he recomposed himself.
"Ujiko. Get. Tomura. Tell him he'll be attacking UA in three days."
Tomura was elated at this development...but a little nervous when he saw his Sensei smiling
"If possible, Tomura my lad... could you be so kind as to either capture or destroy the following?"
"Tell me the name of the Mission, Sensei. I'll see if I can beat it with no continues."
"No name, but here are the objectives. Priority: Destroy Katsuki Bakugo. Second priority: Retrieve Himiko Toga. Bonuses: See how Izuku is coming along. Make note of any particularly strong bonds or rivalries. And above all else...Izuku must NOT suspect we had anything to do with what happened to him. Do you accept?"
Tomura then nodded...then, needing to hear the answer, asked:
"Sensei, for all I care, what's up with that? Besides, you Nomu-ified the scientists responsible and they're aware of it too. They're living a fate worse than death. Doesn't that make you content? I mean, why should we bother with him? He's been through enough shit as it is."
All for One responded without hesitation.
"He IS my grandson. His mother is the one thing, aside from you, that i did right. After what he has done, i will do ANYTHING I can to make sure he lives the life he desires, and that he is strong enough to keep said life."
"Fair enough..." Tomura nodded. "but I want a Nomu. If I'm doing this, I'm gonna need some proper party members..."
His master smiled.
"Fair enough. Ujiko?"
The mad doctor revealed a hulking male humanoid with a beak, teeth and its brain and eyes exposed.
"This one is blessed with Impact Absorption and Super Regeneration. Not High-End, but close."
"Good enough." Tomura beamed. "I'm sure this'll be more than enough to hopefully kill All-Might..."
The sociopath's mind then wandered elsewhere
"I wonder how Izuku's doing?"
MHS
Meanwhile, Izuku looked over his classmates as the Class S kids were coming home from training at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint Training facility, each having bandages from light injuries but otherwise looking happy and a little tired.
In the week and a half since school at UA started (something the boy still couldn't believe was happening) they had slowly started to get to know each other in the dorms, taking turns cooking, cleaning and organizing marathons of TV and readings...and of course, doing school work.
It was nice.
They were not all buddy buddy yet, but there was clearly a strong bond developing between them all.
Crona Gorgon was shaping up to be his best friend among the class; they never got tired of Izuku's analysis of Ragnarok and Black Blood's capabilities. Ragnarok was often annoyed by Izuku's presence, feigning that him being there stopped him from bothering Crona. Izuku found himself unable to care what Ragnarok thought. Crona and he and started writing and bouncing ideas off of each other. Whenever Izuku was not around, Crona was most comfortable around Sho and Paz.
Paz Lazuil proved to be the nicest right off the bat; or at the very least the least confrontational. She was patient and almost impossible to rattle, barely doing the minimum. When in the rain zone, she had proven to be nearly invincible, yet it didn't go to her head...beyond some teasing, very much akin to an older sibling. Izuku reckoned she was probably the strongest girl in the class, but she was also among the nicest, watching TV with them all and always making sure they had pure and clean water.
After Paz, Masato Outsuki was the 'sanest' of the Class S students and was quickly becoming like a Class Rep; trying to reign them in whenever they acted out...with varying results. He clearly did like Izuku, reading Izuku's analysis notes and encouraging the green haired boy to be more confident, but still being patient and understanding.
Sho Kusakabewas quiet and only spoke when he had to. Out of the kids, while he didn't show it, he was clearly the most regretful of his former actions. Perhaps it was due to this that he seemed to gravitate towards Izuku; they were both fire quirk users and Izuku never asked about his time in the White Clad. Sho in turn diverted any questions about the Firestarter
Lucy...quite frankly she scared Izuku. Having seen the destructive power of his Vector arms Which had almost destroyed the USJ and apparently had no limit range), the green haired boy was certain she was the most dangerous of his classmates. She was stoic most of the time...but she had a weakness for baby animals, especially puppies, and the sight of them made her become, dear Izuku think it, a cute and adorable girl. She was slow in forming bonds with the other students, but she seemed to have something of a bond with Ulqiorra and tolerated Toga being near her. Toga in turn often asked her to hang out and talk about killing people they hated.
In contrast, Izuku was nothing but intrigued by Ulqiorra Cifer, who, while keeping an uninterested look on his face, never seemed to stray too far from the Firestarter. While still giving only sparse details, Ulqiorra had told Izuku bits and pieces of the other projects at the lab that held them and Toga
Chara Dermur was quite a character, in spite of being mute. They reminded Izuku of Katsuki when they had been younger; eager and reckless with a stubborn refusal to admit when they done goofed. Chara was quickly bonding with Himiko as they duelled with their blades, neither afraid of shedding a bit of blood. Masato seemed to be trying to become a brother figure for Chara, but the smallest of the kids refused this.
Akira Kongoh, Izuku mused, had been born in the wrong era. He'd have a grand and heroic samurai in olden days, with his chivalrous actions and his dislike of the elite trampling the masses. Heck, Izuku reckoned that in another timeline, he could've been as grand a hero as All Might. He certainly had the strength to do it, even without using his Quirk, which so far, Izuku and the others had only heard of.
Akira often said what was on his mind, not caring what others thought. Akira also was clearly in Izuku's corner from the beginning, calling him a true man for continuing to be a hero in spite of all life had handed him.
He and Amity were also having a bit of a fight over an incident that involved the two of them and a screen call with Amity's girlfriend, along with a girl Akira knew who may or may not have been his girlfriend. Izuku didn't press.
Amity Blight was a diligent student and was used to getting things done right away, which the class had seen whenever she ranted and raved about something not going as she had been expecting. Her Quirk, Abomination, was also a good sparring partner...but against several of the powerhouses it often fell in two or three punches.
In spite of this, Amity was still a very kind girl; she often read to Chara and Crona and had joined in on all the anime marathons with as much passion as the others. She was grateful for Izuku's analysis skills and even started asking him for sketching lessons...mostly so that she could draw herself and her girlfriend with their respective fictional 'husbandos.'
Saki Mikaido was another character; loud, crass and proud. She intimidated everyone else and just breathed 'Alpha'. She was the single most confrontational person in the class, having challenged everyone to a fight at least once on top of clearly wanting to be a leader, certainly having the chops for it. Similar to Akira, Saki seemed to be a bit behind the times; she had been searching for a Tomagatchi in her free time and when ranting about how expensive they were, refused to get a smart phone..to the point the Class S dorms had a landline. It was the one thing she and the other delinquent agreed with; any other time they interacted they'd be clashing blows.
In spite of all her tough girl acts, Saki was clearly someone with a softer centre; she had her old gang called almost nightly and she softened up around Chara and Sho along with kids in general. She also listened to Teen Pop near religiously and had cried the night Izuku opened up about that horrid day.
And finally, Yuno Gasai. She had proven to be an excellent cook and sisterly towards the 'younger minded kids', and had struck up a friendship with Akira over their passion for making the perfect pudding as well as started sparring with Toga. She had been wary of Izuku at the start, but like Saki, after the night he told all she became like a big sister to him, always telling Paz to stop teasing him and actually going toe to toe with Saki a few times. Izuku was impressed by Yuno's fighting skills and the two had started talking about getting him some training.
The bus then rolled up to their dorm and the kids disembarked, looking forward to resting up as they started to get comfortable.
"Any calls?" Ulqiorra asked, checking the landline.
"YOU HAVE...NO. NEW MESSAGES."
"Huh." Izuku mused
"Yeah, would've thought the reporters would want something..."Himiko mused.
"Wait, what's the outgoing?" Akira asked, flicking a button.
Ragnarok's voice came out:
"If you utter so much as one syllable I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GUT YOU LIKE A FISH! If you'd like to email us, go the UA website."
...
...
...
"Not just Raganrok." Crona mused.
"..Chara!" Masato roared in annoyance.
"WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!" Ragnarok added for comedy.
"Aw come on, Sho!" Chara groaned in hand signs. "Lemme have this."
"No." Sho said simply
Saki and Lucy were rolling on the floor in laughter at the scene, as were the others before Mamako came in, rolling a trolley of delicious foods and drinks
"Ryo tells me you all did phenomenally, so I decided to make dinner tonight. Now, eat and rest up kids." Hound Dog smiled. "Tomorrow you'll be doing a co-op exercise with Class 1A."
"Arigato, Okaasan." They all said together, missing the beauty's smile as she left them to their own devices.
Soon, with good food in their bellies, the Class S students headed to bed.
To be continued...
Next time: 1S and 1A; reunions and retribution?
Originally, this chapter was supposed to include the first meeting with 1A, but upon giving it some thought, I decided it would be better pacing-wise to at least give an idea of how they kids have started to come together.
Did I make a good call?
Thanks for all the reviews and follows you have been giving this. Major shout out to Tim Curry's Toxic Love for helping develop this story.
