Here it is, my second attempt at a one-shot with one of my fav. pairings! Hope you like!
Disclaimer: ahem Kitsunegal-chan owns a pair of socks, but unfortunately not this, or any, anime to date. Thank you.
Wind flew through the northern mountains of feudal Japan, carrying with it the scent of lilies and water from the lower regions of the ancient paradise. The wind found its way around the rocky and perilous mountains that were bathed in crimson from the dying sun. It twisted and whistled its way through the few shrubs and scrubby trees that dared to live in such an extreme environment, and into hair that rivaled the ruby clouds that floated restfully along the horizon, barely concealing the blazingly beautiful light from the nearly set sun.
Watery emerald eyes shone with determination as they rose to meet the growing color that had begun to paint the landscape surrounding her that had become so familiar. For a while, it seemed as though the entire mountainous region was one enormous rainbow of colored light and illusions.
Ayame brushed aside a stray hair that escaped into the sweet breeze, and a fang gleamed in the slowly fading light as she smiled sadly. She could still here his voice in her perfect ears, ears that could hear so much more than any normal girl her age should be able to. Of course, any normal girl her age's ears were probably not pointed, as was the norm for most youkai.
A tan face framed by long, dark hair found its way into her mind. She longed for that face, for its handome features and glittering blue eyes. But more than all of that, she longed for the man behind them. The manwhoheld her heart and had for longer than he could ever know.
She shook her head. Kouga had said no, but that would never stop her. A small smile graced her lips.
Emerald eyes scanned the area once more before returning to the golden sun. Its golden light laced her crimson hair with ribbons of pure light, and her armor gleamed. The white fur with which she was clothed floated weightlessly in the calming sea breeze, a breeze that could calm any storm. After what seemed an eternity, the howls of her pack brought the wolf girl back safely home.
The same wind that flew through Ayame's evening sunset crossed the great forest and settled itself into the caves of the wolf demon tribe. Onyx hair was lifted weightlessly into the fresh breeze, and ice blue eyes flashed in the moonlight. The blue glow from the lunar wonder gave the wolf-demon an un-earthly appearance, as if sent from heaven itself. The thick trees that surrounded him constantly offered their calming scent into his weary senses.
He couldn't stop seeing her face, but this time, so unlike the others, it was her mature face that clouded his mind. He was no longer dreaming of the young girl he rescued from the birds of paradise long ago, but of the young woman who she had become. The soft moonlight gleamed off of his smooth armor as he stood to stretch.
His tail flicking behind him, he entered his cave for what seemed like the millionth time in the last few years, and went to sleep.
Hope it was good, i love this pairing! Review please!
