Rage rolled out of the way as Yamma fired a shot of dark energy at him. The two had been neck and neck for a while as they continued to trade blows.
It seemed both were evenly matched even as Rage returns fire with a swarm of Chaos Spears to no avail. "Give it up!" He shouts as they stood waiting for the other to make a move.
"Never! You damn light dwellers do nothing but shun and patronize us!" Yamma screams enraged. "For millennia my people have been trapped in this desolate world...from those so called gods of that world! All I wish is for revenge! Can't you understand that much?! Even as an agent of those gods?!"
"I understand the desire for revenge." Rage says "Believe me I do. However it doesn't justify what you're doing. I can't let you kill millions of people. As for that last part. I am no agent of a god. I am here on my terms. I wish for CHS to be rid of events like these..."
"So you claim. Why should I believe that?!" Yamma screams.
"If you recognized me as a Chaos Guardian you should know who I answer to." Rage says. "That alone should tell you I am not lying."
"That still doesn't prove your claim on revenge." Yamma scoffs.
"You sure are talkative..." Rage sighs. "Very well, I'll indulge you. If you must know it comes from when I was young after my parents died. I wanted to get the son of a bitch who did it so bad I almost lost my life pursuing him... Revenge is a dark path that no matter if you're good, evil or whatever leads to nothing more than pain. Please... I don't want to solve this with violence there has been enough bloodshed."
"Damn you speaking as if you know my pain!" Yamma screams "if that were true you wouldn't have killed Nix or Vlagh!"
"I only defeated them because they threatened my world as you do now!" Rage shouts
angry at the comment "If they stayed in the Dark World and didn't try taking over the Light World I would have left them alone."
"This isn't your world!" He says lashing at Rage. "I am going to kill you!" Rage grabs his arm and twists it. A popping sound was heard as he dislocates it. Yamma screams in pain holding his right arm as he stumbles backwards before tripping. Rage walked up and stood over him.
"You're pathetic." Rage says with a sneer "You act like this high and mighty king. I told you I have more transformations and yet I won't need them. Not for a weakling like you."
"This isn't over!" Yamma spits.
"It is." Rage says "Hopefully I can get some goddamn peace and quiet after all this." He grumps raising his sword. Yama sneered as Rage swung his sword ending Yama's life.
"That's it?" Kira asks.
"Yes." Rage replies. "Did you expect more?"
"Well given you were captured, we came, busted you out and all...yes!" Kira exclaims.
"So...does that mean it's over?" Sunset asks.
"Not quite." Rage says "We still need to stop whatever they have been doing to merge the worlds..."
"How do we do that?" Twilight asks.
"Honestly, I have no clue." Rage sighs. "I've never dealt with this kind of thing before."
"Wait a minute..." Kira looks around "Where is Midnight?"
The others look around and shrug. "Why?" Sunset asks.
"Couldn't she...be the one controlling all of this?" Kira asks "I mean she did call this place hers and all."
"You shouldn't be so worried about her." A voice chuckles.
"Oh for the love of- I killed you already!" Rage groans turning in the direction of the voice as Yamma forms out of a shadowy mist.
"It's been a long time...since I have walked this mortal plane" Yamma says the voice changing into one more devious, more sinister.
"Great who do we have this time?" Rage sighs annoyed as he pinched the bridge of his nose with his fingers in a stressed out like manner.
'Yamma' chuckles as the body is morphed. Now standing before them was a grey skinned man. His hair was short, black and small red marks highlighted the trips. Dark purple marks across his skin glowed with dark energy as his amber eyes glared at the group. The creature was human in appearance with a long robe like cloth covering his body. It was grey and stained with blood. "So you're the ones who rudely tried to interrupt the Planemeld..."
"I figured that was obvious." Rage says crossing his arms. "Now why don't you get to explaining who exactly you are..."
"Hrmph you are awfully buligerent for a mortal..." it scoffs "Very well, my name is Nightmare Eclipse...You may call me Lord Nightmare... I was the one conducting this planemeld that you so rudely stopped. Now tell me why have you done such a thing?"
"In case you haven't figured it out Nightmare...we're not exactly thrilled to see you merging our world into yours. We kind of like our world the way it is." Rage says.
"You...come from the OTHER world?" Nightmare Eclipse asks. "But how can you not be...wait..." he stuttered before looking closely at Rage. "Which one of you is a Chaos Guardian?"
"That would be me." Rage says "If you'll believe me...unlike half of the bastards here."
"I believe you." Nightmare scowls. "Your kind is always meddling in our affairs..."
"Gee maybe if you would just step off our worlds we wouldn't have to come in here and knock some heads." Rage says with a smirk "So why don't you run along before I get in a bad mood."
"I don't think you understand Young Chaos Guardian..." Nightmare Eclipse chuckles "I am nothing like the petty Yamma you just killed! I am a god! Blessed by The Dark Lord De-"
"I killed Dex." Rage says bluntly cutting Nightmare Eclipse off.
Eclipse looks at Rage a little disgruntled "You what?" he asks.
"I killed Dex." Rage says.
"By god...you're Ragis Chaotic aren't you?" he asks.
"Guilty as charged." Rage says. "For once I have been identified..."
"Hmph." Nightmare Eclipse smirks before warping in front of Rage. "I hope you are ready to die."
Rage returns to his Super Form "Let's dance!" he says. Both warp back a few feet and then charge at each other. They went into a brawl of blocking and dodging at extremely high speeds as Kira and the others run back a way to give them room.
"You think Rage will be okay?" Twilight asks.
"No clue!" Kira answers. "I've only heard the rumors about Nightmare Eclipse..."
Finally after a few minutes Rage and Nightmare Eclipse broke apart from their scuffle. Both managed to land very few hits none being very vital. "Hmph you are formidable Ragis Chaotic." Nightmare Eclipse chuckles. "I am afraid I am done with the games however." he chuckles as a flare of dark energy became visible as the marks on his body glow brighter.
"I see how it is." Rage says as he changed his own form. He didn't want to waste any time, his hair flashed into a pure white, his eyes became a deep purple and his flare of energy became silver. Rage had entered his Perfect Chaos Form.
"Prepare to die!" Nightmare shouts as he charges for Rage who summoned his sword and threw it at Nightmare.
Nightmare dodged to the left but Rage was there anticipating the dodge. Nightmare got his head turned to see Rage's foot as he slammed it downwards into his head. The force of the attack sent Nightmare down into the ground.
Nightmare landed with a loud crash causing some of the tiles on the floor below to crack or just flat out shatter. He got up and looked up "What...is this?" he asks himself "Just what is the limit of this Chaos Guardian?"
Rage bolts down to the ground and glared directly at Nightmare and swings again, this time Nightmare grabbed his leg and was ready to twist and break it. Rage vanished. "What?!" he exclaims.
"Too slow!" Rage says as once more Nightmare is hit from behind. This time he could feel fire in the attack as a small burning sensation gnawed at his head.
"Enough of this..." Nightmare says as he glows ever brighter. "I am going to end this right here, right now! With my ultimate attack! Prepare to die Ragis Chaotic!" he laughs as he forms a large ball of dark energy. "See my Unholy Apocalypse and tremble in fear!" he says as the ball finally stopped growing. It was huge, beyond anything Rage had ever seen.
'Something that large would destroy this entire world for sure...not knowing how linked they are the residual dark energy could...no!' Rage thought to himself as he concentrated all of his energy 'I can't let that happen! I will protect CHS and the entire world it is connected to at any cost!'
Still laughing Nightmare flicks his finger and the ball begins to hurl itself towards the ground. Rage looks up and shouts; "Ultima Chaos Beam!" he fires a bright beam of alternating colors at the ball which managed to stop it from moving.
Nightmare stops laughing and looks down knowing that it should have impacted the ground by now. "What the hell?" he says to himself as the ball of energy instead slowly began to push back at him "What?!" he exclaims now panicking as it gained more and more speed. "Impossible!" he stammered as a bright glow of light began to become visible within the ball. Suddenly it erupted and the ball disintegrated as the beam Rage had fired overtakes it. The beam then hit Nightmare Eclipse engulfing him in light. He screamed in agony as he felt his body being destroyed cell by cell, atom by atom.
Finally Rage let up, the beam finished and nothing was left. Rage panted as he fell to a knee and looked up. "Don't...ever...come back." he pants and Kira, Twilight and Sunset run up to Rage, the girls helping him up.
"You okay?" Kira asks.
"Yeah..." Rage says looking at the wounds he had spread across his body. Once again he had overexerted himself. Using his Ultima Chaos as a human was dangerous. He counted himself lucky he wasn't dead.
"Rage...you're hurt!" Sunset says worry clouding her voice.
"I'll be alright." Rage grunts as they make their way to the exit. "I...I shouldn't have used my Ultima Chaos at all as a human...I don't have the same resilience as my Mobian form does...It can be lethal for me to use Ultima Chaos but...if I didn't, there was no way I could have stopped that thing..."
"That was reckless, Rage." Kira says. Rage nods acknowledging that he knew it was.
"We should get you back home." Twilight suggests.
"I would very much like that..." he says. "I have had enough battling Darkness for a few months..."
"I think we will be alright for a while." Kira says "Besides summer is just right around the corner!"
"I hope so..." Rage pants as they reach the portal Kira had made and walked through.
Their friends were waiting on the other side, their joy went to worry as Rage was drug through. "Rage what happened?!" Sonic exclaims.
"I...had no choice..." Rage pants "Had...too..."
"Rage had to use his Ultima Chaos." Kira finishes for Rage.
"Rage are you insane?!" Shadow exclaims "You could have killed yourself!"
"Give it a rest Shads, he said he had no choice." Sonic says.
"Shadow is right..." Rage says "I was reckless..."
"We should get you home sugar." Applejack says "You ain't lookin' too hot."
Rage nods as she and XL take him from Twilight and Sunset and walk him all the way back to his house. Once on the porch Rage thanks them and walks inside. He went upstairs and flopped into his bed looking at what evening red of the sky he could make out from behind his curtains as he sighed and slowly drifted off to sleep.
A/N: Sorry if it's short but I have been sitting on it for too long and decided to scrap it a few times and rewrite a lot of it. This will mark the end of Year 3. Next chapter will be titled 3.5 as I plan to do a summer chapter. Then it will be 4-1 to begin senior year.
