I Changed Him!

Doggy Ears n Emily: Sorry for the long update. I've been really busy lately. I'm painting my room Orange and doing lots and lots of shopping! Especially since its Spring Break. YAY. Plus my sister is home so my life is basically a living hell! XD LOL! Oh and this chapter is Inuyasha's POV. Just so ya know.

Inuyasha's Debating Thoughts

"Sigh."I let out as I still stared at Kagome.

'She promised! She promised! She promised!' I kept telling myself. 'She has to help me find them. She broke the jewel and she promised to help put it back together. She will! I know she will' I tried to convince myself and closed my eyes.

'But what if she gets killed?' I asked myself as my eyes flew open. I wasn't trying to think of bad things that could happen. But this stupid voice in my head kept throwing 'What ifs' in my face.

'Oh she won't die! I will not let Anything touch her!' I knew that she would Always be safe. I would Always protect her!

'What if she gets kidnapped?'

'Again, Nothing will happen while I'm around!' I answered confidant.

'What about in her time. It might not be as dangerous as this time, but it's still dangerous no matter what she says.'

'I'll follow her everywhere she goes.'

'She isn't going to like that very much.' He made a point. Kagome 'did' hate it when he follows her in her era.

'Oh well. She'll just have to deal with it won't she!'

'Well, What if she asks you about Kikyo? What are you going to tell her?'

'Of course, I'll tell her the truth. I killed the clay pot wench!'

'Are you going to tell her why? She's going to ask why you killed her.'

'I'll tell her it's none of her business.'

'That's a little harsh don't you think?'

'Uh well fine I'll tell her that I'll tell her when we kill Naraku and collect all the jewel shards.'

'What if she leaves before then?'

'She won't.'

'What if she gets tired of you and goes home?'

'But she promised!'

'Promises are broken all the time, Inuyasha.'

'If that happens…then I'll tell her before she leaves. When she says goodbye.'

'What if she doesn't say goodbye? What if its too painful or she doesn't even care at all?'

'She will!'

'What if she doesn't? Tell her now!'

'No!'

'Tell Kagome you love her.'

'What if she doesn't love you back?'

'What if she does?'

'I can't take that risk.'

'Yes, you can.'

'No, If she doesn't love me back then things might not be the same. I want things to stay good. I'm afraid she might leave me.'

'Tell her NOW!'

"No!" Instead of talking in my thoughts I was shouting out loud now.

Kagome sat up lazily. She turned towards me and rubbed sleep out of her eyes. "Is everything all right, Inuyasha?" She asked as she yawned a little.

I just wanted to rock her back to sleep in my arms. She sounded so innocent. But I couldn't. No matter how much I wanted to, I knew that if I waited things might be better. If I waited until everything was done and told her and she didn't love me back, I would still have the time we'd already spent together. Even if I didn't get to hold her all the time, there were still times when I could and those times would be better than ending this short.

"No, everything's fine!" I started rudely, but I continued softly. "I'm, I'm sorry I woke you up, Kagome. I'm ok. Just go back to sleep." I didn't look at her. It seemed I was scared that maybe the things I'd been thinking about could be read in my eyes. If I looked at her she would probably know something was wrong.

She sat and stared at me for a second. 'Ok Inuyasha, I know something is wrong!' She thought.

Kagome shoved her sleeping bag away and crawled towards me. I still didn't look at her. She stopped right in front of me. We were almost level because she was on her hands and knees like a dog.

She leaned in towards my face a little and I finally looked at her when she said, "Ya know Inuyasha, if there's something bothering you, you know you can tell me. You can tell me anything, and I'll stay by your side, Always. I Promise!"

Those words echoed in my head. She said she promised to stay by my side Always! Maybe I could tell her…

"Kagome, do you really Promise to stay by my side forever?"

"Of course Inuyasha. I Promise!" her eyes looked so truthful. Kagome has not ever lied to me so maybe?
