"Uhhhhhhhhhh! Where is she? " said Rachel aloud. " How can my own mother be late for my 12th
birthday!" " I know It's moving day but for crying out loud!"she said talking to herself. "Excuse me miss." said a strange voice behind her. "Oh, Herriman!" said Rachel obviously surprised. "Where's mom?" asked Rachel. " Your mother is waiting for you at the mansion" said Herriman. "Oh, I thought we were going to spend some "quality time'" said the sarcastic Rachel. " Well your mother said you needed to be with your friends and have some fun." he said chuckling. " Now get in the limo."
As they drove away from the airport Rachel rolled up the wall that separates the front from the back. Rachel tried to think of any times she had spent with her mother lately, but in that swirling head of hers... she could find none. She would of cried if she hadn't just saw the smiling faces of her friends through the limo windows.
" Happy Birth-day!" they all screamed at once. The 3 girls Dawn, Angela, and Sierra smiled widely and said " We get the whole house to ourselves! No one will be here but us and the workers."
" What about my mom?" asked Rachel. " Nope she won't be here either." said Sierra looking kind of confused. " We get enough of them." said Angela. " Well I don't!" said Rachel. She looked up to see all the other faces in a way kinda hurt. " Just kiddn' said Rachel walking towards her house trying to do the best impression of a laugh as she could. The other girls got the joke and started running towards her.
While that was happening...
" Mom! I'm home!" said Sue flinging her back pack onto the vinal floor. 'I can't believe it's already Summer brake!' thought the surprised girl. "Well... I better go mow the yard one more time." said Sue, " Seems like every time I step out there it rains and the grass is back like that!" she said snapping her fingers. " Sue! Is that you?" called her mom from upstairs. " Just so you know I mowed the lawn already!" she yelled. "Really!" she said to herself and stepped outside.
She looked at the grass in a nice clean cut. She looked amused until a drop of water fell on her nose. " Oh for heavens sake!"she screamed at the sky,"It's Summer!" she stomped into the house and as soon as she shut the sliding door , it started coming down hard. " I love water and swimming a lot, but I just am confused when right after I step outside and look at the cut grass it starts raining! Also in Summer!" she said," It's a real pain in the a-" "Oh! Hi Mom!" she said fake giggling. " Honey... I think I should tell you something."
5 minutes later...
"What!" screamed Sue as loud as human ears can comprehend. " I have w-w-w-w- ater powers!" she breathed. " Yes, and there are 4 others who have different powers, too. You all have the same duty though." said her mother. Sue's round almond shaped hazel green eyes widened with shine...
