After depositing her father's money, Meliodas told her he'd wait for her on the sidewalk of the bank while she tells Gil he's free to go on without her. Elizabeth approaches her friend's car, tapping the glass of the passenger's seat. Gilthunder rolls down the window, an eyebrow raised at her. She bends over as she puts her hands on her knees to look at him better. She offers him a patient smile.
"Are you getting in, Elizabeth?" The man asks. The silverette shakes her head.
"No, I've decided to go get coffee." It's not entirely a lie, but she also hasn't specified if she was going alone.
"Oh. But that's a block away from here," Gil says. "Are you sure you don't need a ride over there?" Elizabeth gives him another smile.
"No, no. It's quite alright. I can manage some exercise," she insists.
The pale pink haired man sighs, but returns her smile. "I assume you need money," he says. "Since you don't have your purse with you." Elizabeth once again grins, and then nods.
"Twenty bucks," she pretty much demands.
Gil gapes at her. "Twenty? For a cup of coffee?"
The silverette giggles. "I might buy myself a second cup and a cookie."
"Okay, fine." He gives in as he pulls out his wallet and gives her two ten-dollar bills.
"Thank you, Gil! I'll call you later, okay?" She thanks him and waves as he rolls the window back up.
Now that she has twenty bucks tucked into her phone case and a dent in her sense of pride, she starts making her way back to Meliodas. The second she turns around, she already sees his sly grin. He was definitely checking her out while she was talking to Gil, wasn't he? It's the only thing she could think of; there's no other reason he should be having such an arrogant smile on his face.
"Don't tell me," Elizabeth says once she's close enough to the blonde. It's all she says, and it makes Meliodas raise an eyebrow and smirk at her.
"Don't tell you what?"
"You were looking at my ass just now, weren't you?"
"Do you want me to sugar-coat it, or do you want a lie?" Meliodas says, his smirk only growing cockier. He starts walking, and she tails close behind.
"So you were," she mumbles behind him. Elizabeth watches him shove his hands into the pockets of his hoodie.
He chuckles, "Calm down, Princess, I haven't done anything wrong."
She scoffs and rolls her eyes. She can list off plenty things he's done wrong. For one, he got her drunk - more drunk than she would've liked. Secondly, he keeps calling her that God forsaken nickname. And don't even get her started on the cockiness this man has. Every time she seems to look at him, whether it be his body language or his eyes or his damned smile - it's all fucking cocky. And for what?
Elizabeth can't name a single person she knows that's more cocky than the man in front of her.
But she can't place her finger on it... Why does he continue to talk to her at all? Let alone call her Princess and whatnot. She knew she shouldn't have gone to the bar last night. Maybe he knows she's the president's daughter? No, that couldn't be the case. Elizabeth feels like he would have said something if he knew. Just about anyone that's recognized her because of her father always said something.
Some were polite, some were... Let's say craving a female body. Of course she turned them down. It's just creepy and nasty. By no means was she a virgin; she lost it when she was dating someone she loved. Emphasis on loved. He ended up breaking her heart, but she's gotten over it. It's not a story she likes to tell, nor is it a nice story to recall.
"I see you're still wearing my jacket, Princess," Meliodas comments and it breaks her train of thought. Thankfully he said something because she really didn't want to be thinking of someone who hurt her.
"I was in a rush, and your jacket was convenient," Elizabeth responds. "Do you want it back?" She asks, already going to take it off, but he looks at her over his shoulder, his green eyes dancing over her face.
"No, you can keep it. I've got plenty other jackets. C'mon, Princess. We're almost there," the blonde says as he grabs her hand as drags her along with him.
His hand against hers felt rather... warm. She found herself liking the contact. "Do you come here often?" Meliodas asks her. Elizabeth finds herself a bit confused at his question. Why does he want to know? What does it matter to him?
"Not as often as the bar," she finds herself responding anyway, "but often enough." Meliodas only hums as they start approaching the café. Immediately, Elizabeth sees people sitting, drinking coffee outside on the outdoor tables. They walk inside the building, the cool air of the air conditioner washing over her, making her silver hair blow against her jacket. Well, Meliodas's jacket.
He doesn't let go of her hand like she expected him to, and it perplexes her. Why does he keep holding her hand?
Meliodas leads her into one of the three lines of people ready to order their coffee or food. "What kind of coffee do you want, Princess?" He asks her as she looks at the menu on a screen above.
"Just a latte," Elizabeth decides. When she looks over to Meliodas, she sees his eyes on her. "Anything you wanna eat?"
"I'll take whatever," Elizabeth says as she feels his emerald eyes boar into her own aqua orbs. He smiles at her.
"Go get us a table, okay? I'll be here," his smile remains, and all she can do is stare before she meekly nods and turns around to find a table to sit at.
After she looks around for a good minute or so, she decides to sit at a table next to a window. Elizabeth sits down and looks outside the glass. The blue sky above her barely consisted any clouds, but she still thought it was a pretty sight.
Her phone buzzes in her back pocket, and Elizabeth takes it out. It's a notification from her father. She doesn't bother reading the message; she only puts her phone back in her pocket. Elizabeth knew her father would be furious with her, but she found she couldn't care. If anything, he knows fully well she wants nothing to do with his job.
She crosses her arms over the table and goes back to looking outside.
Looking out the window, she notices two people; a man and a woman. The man has dark brown hair, and bright hazel eyes. The woman beside him is probably the most beautiful Elizabeth's ever seen. She has short sky blue hair and dark crimson eyes. They both sit at a table, and she sees the woman lean over to the man to kiss him on the lips. Elizabeth blushes lightly and looks away, feeling like she's somehow invading their privacy even though they're in public.
Just as she looks at the seat in front of her, she notices someone slide into the chair. "You came back that quick...?" Elizabeth trails off at the end of her sentence. She expects Meliodas to be in front of her, but it's not. It's a man she can't recognize; his insanely dark eyes piercing into her bright ocean eyes.
She feels really uncomfortable.
"Hey there, pretty lady," the man says. "Say, how about we get out of here and go to my place?"
Really uncomfortable is an understatement.
The man tries to grab one of her hands, but she retracts both her arms and places her hands on her knees. "Aw, come on! Don't want to be rude, now do we?" He says. Does he not see that she doesn't want him to touch her? He's being so creepy!
"You're making me feel uncomfortable," she mumbles under her breath and holds her head low. The man in front of her chuckles, and the most rancid chill runs throughout her entire body.
"Sorry, pretty lady, but what was that?"
She doesn't bother responding; Elizabeth feels like if she said anything else, the man would just... take her away. Or something. But regardless, she's never felt so agonized in her life.
Just as she hears the man take another breath to say something else lewd to her, Elizabeth hears footsteps approaching. Surely, the man doesn't have friends here with him. Right? Oh, Gods, is this it? Is she about to get kidnapped right here and now?
"Hey," she hears a familiar voice say. Elizabeth lifts her head up and looks in the direction of the voice, taking in the sight of bright blonde hair. It's Meliodas! Thank Gods! "I got our coffee, Princess," he says as her eyes find his. For a moment, his gaze leaves her to look at the man that occupies the seat in front of her.
"Who's this, Princess?"
Elizabeth swallows hard. "I-I don't know. He just came up to me and sat there," she says in a hushed voice. Meliodas hums. The man in front of her laughs. It sends another bone-chilling chill up her spine. She's never felt so uncomfortable in her life.
"And just who are you, kid?" The creepy man says.
"Oh, me?" Meliodas says as he puts down his and Elizabeth's coffees and cookies on the table. "Her boyfriend, and I'm not a kid," he says. Is he crazy? Her boyfriend? Elizabeth hasn't even known Meliodas for a full twenty-four hours! Though, the man didn't know that. Thankfully.
"Oh really?" The creepy man speculates. "Prove it." Prove it? What in the hell? Does he just not have the common decency to leave people alone and mind his own fucking business?
"Why should I prove it to you?" Meliodas counters. Elizabeth eyes dance all over the blonde's features. That cocky grin she was used to seeing wasn't there anymore. Instead, he had a stern frown replacing the grin. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, showing that he was starting to get annoyed.
"Can't you see you're making her uncomfortable?" Meliodas continues. The creepy man scoffs.
"She doesn't seem very uncomfortable," he says as he points at her. Elizabeth turns her head to look at the man accusing her of not feeling something that she is completely feeling.
"Maybe, but it's because I'm here. Now, leave her alone before I make you."
"I don't think you're her boyfriend," the man says. Gods, how annoying. And harrowing.
Commit to the bit, right?
Elizabeth reaches an arm out to Meliodas, grabbing his forearm. When she sees Meliodas look at her, and the other man's gaze on her, she smiles at the blonde. "Thank you, baby!" She cringes at the pet name she chose to use, but it's just to get out of this situation. Nothing more. "I wish I could pay you back," Elizabeth continues with a wink.
Meliodas's cocky smirk returns. Amazing. "Mhm, not now, Princess. We're in public," he says. Before she even had time to react, he leans over to her and places a kiss to her neck. Elizabeth gasps, and she feels Meliodas's smirk widen against her neck. The man in front of her scoffs again, and he gets up and leaves.
The last thing the silverette heard him say was: "Ridiculous."
The blonde pulls away from her and watches the man leave. A sigh of relief leaves her, her body relaxing. Meliodas sits down where the man just was. He grabs one of the coffee cups he ordered, as well as a cookie. "Those are for you, Princess," the blonde tells her as he points at the other cup and cookie. Her eyes find his, and for once, she doesn't see cockiness behind his green eyes.
She looks at the cup of coffee she requested, and then to the cookie. It was a peanut butter cookie. It's her favorite type of cookie... "How did you know peanut butter is my favorite?" Elizabeth asks as her orbs finds his once more.
He only smiles. "Just a guess. You seem like the type of woman to like a good peanut butter cookie," the blonde answers.
Elizabeth stares into his eyes for a second longer as he takes a sip of his own coffee. She looks down at the coffee he bought her and grips it with her right hand. She brings it up to her lips and takes a long sip, the warmth of the drink soothing the inside of her throat. Elizabeth sighs as she puts the cup back down onto the table. The silverette realizes his eyes are still on her.
Surprisingly enough, she doesn't feel uncomfortable like she did when that creepy man tried hitting on her. It feels... weird, almost. She can't quite place it.
Instead of looking at Meliodas, she looks back outside the window. The same couple was still their; sipping away happily at their drinks. It puts a smile on her face. Not a minute later, Elizabeth sees the man stand up, her eyes following his movements. The woman beside him does the same, a dumbfounded expression on her face.
The man gets down on one knee and pulls out a small black box from the inside of the jacket he wore. The woman gasps, her hands covering her mouth. Elizabeth can't hear him, but she knows what he's saying.
Will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?
Slight tears prickle her eyes, and she looks away from the couple, down at the table in front of her. If someone came up to her right at this very moment after seeing what the silver haired woman saw, they'd think she's about to cry tears of happiness for the couple. How wrong they would be. Her grip on the coffee cup tightens a fraction, and she still feels Meliodas' gaze on her.
Elizabeth expects Meliodas to ask her what's wrong, but he doesn't. He just... stays silent.
Though, she can't tell if she's glad or not. While she feels like she wants to talk about anything, just to take her mind off whatever she's feeling, Elizabeth also doesn't really want to talk either. It's sort of peculiar, but she always acts like this when something reminds her of her last relationship.
You just expected me to be okay with it?
Elizabeth flinches as she remembers her own words, spoken about three years ago. It was right before she broke up with her ex-boyfriend. A tear escapes her eye and rolls down her cheek. Meliodas grabs one of her hands and he rubs small circles on it. The silver haired woman lifts her head to meet his eyes. They held worry and concern.
"Hey, it's alright. Is the coffee good?" Meliodas attempts to distract her, and it seems to be working.
Elizabeth wipes her tear away and she gives him a small smile. "Yeah. It's amazing."
"Good," he says as he flashes her a wide smile then letting go of her hand.
"Why do you still bother with me?" Elizabeth finds herself asking. She hadn't meant to say those words, but they came out anyway.
The blonde gapes at her for a quick moment before responding. "Like I said; an apology for getting you drunk."
"You could have just said sorry and I would've accepted that apology," Elizabeth says as she takes a sip of her coffee.
"If that were the case," Meliodas counters, "then why are you here with me at a coffee shop?"
Elizabeth groans. "Because you practically forced me to!" She raises her voice, but just a bit. She knows she's in public. That same cocky grin plays onto his lips once again.
"Coulda said no," he continues. "Unlike some people, I know how to handle rejection."
"Yeah, I'm sure you do," Elizabeth says under her breath. He goes quiet again, and she takes the opportunity to finish drinking her coffee. Setting the cup down when she's done with it, she tucks a strand of hair behind her ear as she takes the cookie Meliodas gave her.
The woman breaks off a piece of the cookie and pops it into her mouth. The cookie is still warm, and it's even warmer on her tongue. She sighs contentedly before looking at the blonde man in front of her. He seems to be done with his coffee as well, and is now eating his cookie like she's eating her own. Only, instead of looking at her, he's looking outside the window.
Meliodas chuckles, likely feeling her orbs on him. "What's your dad like, Elizabeth?" He says, but doesn't look at her. Elizabeth gapes at him, surprised he didn't call her 'Princess'.
"He's kind, really," she says as she looks down at her cookie. "My father would always tell me stories - especially when I was younger. The last story he told me not too long ago is the only one that really stayed with me, though."
"Oh? What's the story?" The blonde asks and his eyes meet hers. His viridescent orbs seemed to have removed any and all tenseness is her body.
"He told me about these people; a mafia gang of sorts, I think," Elizabeth tells as she plays with the wrapper of her cookie. "He made them out to be a group of viscous criminals. He said they wanted to see the government fall."
"Did he tell you the name of this gang?" Meliodas asks, putting another piece of his cookie into his mouth. Elizabeth nods.
She swallows bit harsher than she intended to. "They call themselves the Seven Deadly Sins," she says. All Meliodas does is hum as he finishes eating his cookie.
"What else did he tell you about them?"
It's a bit peculiar as to why he'd want to know about a gang of people more than capable of bringing down an entire government, but she supposes she's getting used to this mysteriousness Meliodas gives off. Not really. "Um... He said they've attempted to break into the grand building, but they failed. He also mentioned that he doesn't know any of their names. I know he makes them seem like terrible people," Elizabeth voices, "but I feel like they're just misunderstood. Maybe there's a good reason as to why they do what they do."
Meliodas stays quiet for a minute. Elizabeth takes the moment of silence to finish her cookie like he finished his. What's taking him so long to respond? Before long, he stands up and cocks his head to the side, a silent plea asking her to move with him. So, she obliges and stands up, taking both the cup she drank from and the wrapper in her hands.
They walk over to the trash can by the door and throw their trash away. Elizabeth follows the blonde close as they leave the building. Before they make it to the sidewalk, she glances over to the area where she saw the couple, and they were still there. But now the woman had tears streaming down her cheeks while the man sat next to her, her left hand up in the air. The most priceless engagement ring sat on her ring finger.
Elizabeth closed her eyes, and turned her head back to look in front of her. She hadn't realized she stopped moving; because as she opens her eyes, Meliodas is looking deeply into her blue eyes. She stops breathing for a moment, and it feels like it's only him and her in the entire world.
That is, until he smirks, and the short moment is over. And here she thought she might actually be able to be friends with him.
"Let's go, Princess," he says, grabbing her hand once more. The contact between them now feels like it did not too long ago; only now, his hand somehow feels warmer. Elizabeth is sure her hand is cold, but if it bothers him, he sure doesn't show it.
"What's one of your favorite places to go?" Meliodas asks, tugging her along.
"There's a park not too far from here that I like going to," Elizabeth quietly tells him. He laughs before looking over his shoulder to look at her. Elizabeth immediately notices the blonde's gaze go straight to her lips. She subconsciously licks her lips, and she swears she can hear his breathing get heavier.
Then, he looks into her eyes, and they both slow down. "Then to the park we shall go," Meliodas announces.
Elizabeth has no idea how in the world they got to the park so fast, but given the fact that she completely zoned out on their walk to the park, it does explain why and how she lost track of time and the surroundings around her. As she comes out of her thoughts, both she and the blonde who was still holding her hand stop to look at the scenery. There's kids running around playing tag from what it seems, squirrels darting up and down and across the trees, butterflies and bees flying over the flowers and the richest and greenest grass she's ever seen in her life. Though, she will admit; Meliodas's eyes are much richer.
But she wouldn't tell him that to his face.
They start moving once again, her eyes trained on the back of the blonde's head. How can his hair be so messy and so blonde? The two stop at a bench on the stone path, and Meliodas sits down. Elizabeth looks at him, confused as to why he'd sit down. The man pats the spot next to her, his apertures roaming her figure. She tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear as she moves to sit next to him.
"The park is beautiful," she murmurs to herself, folding her hands onto her lap. Meliodas hums his agreement, her eyes darting across the entire park. The sounds of children's laughter fills her ears, and she cracks a smile that turns into a small laugh.
The blonde next to her shifts a little. "What's so funny, Princess?" Elizabeth's laughter dies down and she looks at Meliodas before pointing to the kids playing in the grass. His gaze leaves her, and he also smiles when he looks at the kids.
"It just reminds me of when I was younger; I would always mess around with my older sisters in a park like this," Elizabeth admits.
He softly chuckles. "I used to be like that with my younger brother," Meliodas states.
"Used to?" The woman questions. "What happened?" The blonde glances back to her, then his eyes dart to the stone by his feet.
"Family stuff; nothing important." He was being extremely vague... Maybe his brother passed away? It's a possibility, but she won't make any assumptions. She's not exactly being non-vague with what she tells him either, so it's only fair. Right?
The silverette doesn't respond. Her aqua orbs leave his figure only to take in the sight of a gazebo in the middle of a park. There's mossy vines hanging from the top of it, cascading down the pillars holding the structure up. Small white flowers seemed to have produced within the vines, and Elizabeth thinks it's a rather pretty sight. But...
It's not a good idea to think about it. Not now.
"Something catch your eye?" Meliodas breaks her out of her thoughts. She gasps, being a bit startled.
She somehow forgot she was here with this mysterious man. "It's just - It reminds me of where I... Was supposed to..." She tries to say, but can't. Elizabeth trails off at the end of her sentence, but she just can't finish her statement.
"It's okay," he tells her when he puts a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to tell me." When she looks into his eyes, she once again can't read his expression. How was this man so good at hiding the emotion in his eyes? Or was she just that oblivious?
"I-I don't mean to cut the day short, b-but I wanna go home," she stutters.
His eyes widen a bit, but he smiles. "Alright, Princess," then, he stands up and extends a hand to her. She looks at up at his hand, then in his face. Meliodas gives her a sweet smile. She takes his hand and he helps her up. The man doesn't let go of her hand, but she doesn't care. Elizabeth can't bring herself to.
The two start walking, but her mind races through thousands of thoughts. How it is it that just by looking at one thing in one of her favorite places ruins her entire mood?
Meliodas starts rubbing circles onto her hand, as if reading her mind. If his intention was to calm her down, it's working great to a fucking 'T'. All her focus is on his thumb, slowly tracing small circles into the flesh of her hand. Maybe it's just her, but she swears he's somehow gotten warmer.
"You should start wearing more layers, Princess," he says. Elizabeth looks at him and exhales through her nose softly.
"Why?"
"Well, it is the middle of November," he points out. "Gonna start to get cold - unless you wanna get sick," then he cockily grins at her. She hums as she breaks their gaze.
"Maybe I should start wearing more clothes," the silverette places a finger on her chin. "Maybe it'll get you to stop looking at my ass and my chest from time to time," she playfully teases.
"That's no fun," he frowns. Elizabeth giggles in response.
They continue walking to Elizabeth's apartment in silence. When she wasn't focused on Meliodas tracing circles on her hand, she would look up at the setting sun, or the other people that walked by her.
"Do you mind if I stay at your place tonight, Princess?" Meliodas randomly asks. Did she hear him correctly? Stay at her place?
"What?! Why? I barely know you!" Elizabeth exclaims.
He chuckles as they turn the corner on a street that seemed familiar to her. "Ya see... I got into a fight with my buddies," he explains. "And they kinda kicked me out of our place."
The silverette finds herself laughing. "They kicked you out?" He nods. Sure, maybe he did get kicked out by his friends, but she barely knows him! It was already bad enough that the blonde got her drunk, Arthur gave him her address, and God knows what else he did.
But at the same time, he did make sure she wasn't uncomfortable today. Regardless of the cockiness during it. Elizabeth sighs.
"Alright," she agrees. "But! Only for tonight - and you sleep on the couch," the silverette quickly adds. When she looks at him, that fucking cocky ass smirk is on his lips, and she already regrets her decision.
"Thank you, Princess," he thanks, but it doesn't sound like he's thanking her with that arrogant tone in his voice.
Distant conversations is all she hears as she continues to walk with Meliodas in silence. Her thoughts race, but only one thought really stays and sticks. Earlier today, when that creepy man kept bothering her and Meliodas lied about being her boyfriend; she's thankful, but she doesn't know why Meliodas lied specifically about dating her.
Sure, maybe it was just to prove an invalid point, but Elizabeth's thoughts are suddenly filled with the moment when he pressed his lips against her neck. To her surprise, the blonde's lips were softer than she ever imagined them being. They felt warm against her throat, and she swore she felt a strange electrical tingle after his lips left her skin.
Her skin flushes bright pink at the thought, and she quickly shakes her head to hopefully bring herself out of her thoughts.
"See?" Meliodas posits. "You're already getting sick. You're pink all over," he places a hand on her forehead, and all Elizabeth can do is stare at him, her blue eyes wide as saucers.
"No, no," a nervous chuckle leaves her. "It's just a bit hot!"
"It's starting to get chilly out," he says before removing his hand from her forehead. Elizabeth simply smiles at him before returning her gaze to the sky above her. It's gotten a bit darker, though the sunset is still present. Her eyes dart back to Meliodas, he simultaneously looks at her in the same moment. What is with his timing?
The man points his index finger in the direction in front of them. "There's your building, Princess," he simply states. A sigh escapes her as the silver haired woman averts continuing looking into his emerald orbs.
It's not long before they're climbing the stairs up to get into her apartment. Meliodas finally lets go of her hand (and she only now just realizes they'd been holding hands the entire walk home) so she can take her house key out of her pocket. Elizabeth unlocks the door, letting herself in, Meliodas following her closely behind.
Putting her key down on her kitchen counter where she normally leaves it, she turns to the blonde man once again checking her out. A strong exhale leaves her nose, "I'm gonna change and go to bed, okay?" Meliodas nods, his eyes not looking into hers. The man could not be any less subtle; his attention completely on her tits.
"Couch is all yours," is all she tells him before she leaves him alone in the living room. Elizabeth goes into her room, closing the door behind her. Taking out her phone from her pocket and throwing it onto her bed, she begins moving towards her dresser. The silverette opens her top drawer and takes out a nightie. It's rather see through, but it's comfortable, so she doesn't care.
She turns around and places the fabric on her bed by her phone before she starts removing her current clothes. Once she's taken off what she was wearing, she throws the clothing into a hamper she has by her bedroom door. Elizabeth is left with nothing but her lacy bra and panties, but she's not left bare for long. She puts on her nightie, the fabric covering her body down to her mid-thigh.
Sitting on her bed, Elizabeth looks at her phone. Remembering that she said she'd call Gilthunder, she does exactly that. The phone rings about three times before a voice is heard through the phone.
"Elizabeth?" She hears Gil say. "It's nearly six. I was expecting a call much sooner."
She chuckles. "I know; and I'm sorry. I was just caught up with some stuff," though it's not entirely a lie. But she isn't going to tell her childhood friend that she spent basically her entire day with someone she met yesterday. Not to mention the fact that she's letting him stay at her apartment for the night. Elizabeth knows Gilthunder; he'd flip his shit. He's like an overprotective older brother.
"Oh, that's alright, Ellie." And there he goes using her nickname again.
"Nothing is wrong, Gilthunder," she says, hoping the pale pink haired man would listen to her.
"Nothing may be wrong," Gil says, "but there's something you're not telling me."
Elizabeth squeezes her eyes shut. Fuck, is he ever observant and perceptive. "I always tell you everything, what could I possibly be keeping from you?"
Oh, yeah. Nothing, right? Just the fact that she met a man barely twenty-four hours ago and he kissed her neck to get someone to leave her alone, or the fact that he keeps calling her princess for God knows what reason, or the fact that he knows where she lives, or the fact that this man is the cockiest man alive, or the fact that she held his fucking hand for an hour?
Absolutely fucking nothing.
"I don't know," Gil responds. "You'll tell me eventually. I know you," and this makes her sigh heavily. He's right; she always tells him in the end.
"Goodnight, Gil," is all she says because frankly, Elizabeth just wants this conversation to be over. Gilthunder laughs in her ear.
"Yes, goodnight, Ellie. Even though it's six in the afternoon. I'll let you know if your sisters or your father need you, alright?"
She hums her acknowledgement before hanging up. God, that Gilthunder. Why does he continue to do whatever her father asks of him? It's a known fact Gil does whatever Elizabeth's father wants because of Margaret. Don't get her wrong; but it's just... annoying, having to run errands for your father despite the fact that he himself is more than capable of doing his own shit.
Putting her phone on her nightstand for the device to charge with a cord attached the the wall behind it, the woman gets up and walks over to her door. She takes a moment to see if she can hear Meliodas, but only ends up hearing silence. Elizabeth hopes to any and all lords above he hasn't robbed her and left without a trace.
Elizabeth opens the door just enough to peak her head through it, and a sigh of relief escapes her as she sees the blonde's cowlick on the couch. "Meliodas?" She calls out. A faint hum is heard. "I'm going to bed, okay? Um... Goodnight," she says. "I suppose," Elizabeth then mutters.
"Goodnight, Princess," he replies, his tone nothing but cocky.
Gripping the door knob a bit harder, she pulls the door towards her to close it and turns her bedroom light off. She flops onto her bed and groans into her comforter. She just can't wrap her head around it; why does this blonde man have to be so damn cocky? And mysterious?
Grabbing her blanket, Elizabeth covers herself and she lets her body sink into her mattress. The silverette stares into the darkness of her room, then to the blinds that she should've opened when she woke up earlier today, but didn't.
A heavy breath leaves her mouth and nose as she closes her eyes. She wasn't expecting a day like today - not in the slightest. Though, she will say that she did have a decent time, regardless of who she spent it with.
But all she can think about before she inevitably falls asleep is that damn kiss Meliodas pressed into her neck.
