The sky above her is a cool sky-blue, multiple clouds of different shapes and sizes filling it. The rich green color of the grass that reminds her so much of Meliodas's even richer green hues accompanied by the multitude of flowers and butterflies flying above them.
A clean stone path leads to both a tennis court and a magnificent grass arch with red roses and yellow dandelions poking out of it.
Elizabeth sits on a lone park bench, her eyes looking up at the sky, but her ears listening to the soft crunch of the grass as children run around it. She sighs contentedly as her eyes slip closed, enjoying the warm breeze of the wind in her silver locks.
When she left the bar this morning, she hadn't expected Diane to tag along. But in the long run, Elizabeth couldn't say no. King also insisted he accompany them, but Elizabeth thinks it's because he just wanted to be near the brunette.
Her eyes slowly open to look at the auburn haired man next to her on the bench, his golden eyes staring at a random spot in the grass. He seems to be lost in deep though.
"You know," Elizabeth starts, his eyes on her as he's taken out of his thoughts. "You could've gone with Diane and played some tennis with her."
King raises his brow at the silverette. "Elizabeth, do you really think I'm the type of person to be playing any kind of sport?"
She shrugs. "Well, no but-"
"Plus, I don't think I'd be able to act normal with just me and her on that court," King adds, interrupting her, his golden orbs looking away from Elizabeth.
"Oh?" Elizabeth speculates. "Why is that?"
She hears King sigh. "Well, after what you said yesterday, you seem to already know that I really like her. It's always when I'm alone with her. I-I stutter on my words, my cheeks - my entire body - goes all hot and when I look at her in the eyes; it's like the whole world stops. And everything from the way her voice is soft and sweet like a warm mug of hot cocoa to the way her smiles brighten the entire room when she's happy."
Elizabeth continues to listen to King ramble about how much he adores Diane - and who would blame him? Diane is one of the nicest people Elizabeth has ever met. It's fortunate, she thinks, that King feels this way. Diane must feel the same way, too, she's sure of it.
"Is this how you feel about Boss?" King suddenly questions, and she goes wide-eyed as her cheeks grow warmer by the second. Has King gone mad? After knowing this overly cocky blonde man for a week, and King thinks she's already head over heels? That ludicrous! All he does is tease her with the way he touches her, the way he talks about her like she's an absolute goddess, and the way he plants warm kisses to her forehead!
And then he brings up that defensive wall by grabbing her ass or "accidentally" fondle one or both of her tits and give her conceited looks right after! It shouldn't even matter the amount of times he's groped her, on purpose or not; he shouldn't even be doing it at all.
But she finds herself craving more. It's like a sick and twisted curse has been cast upon her, but she can't deny the fact that she just wants. She wishes his lips would travel from her forehead to her hot and pinked cheeks, pepper her in sweet kisses as he goes down further to press more kisses into her jaw before he lowers down to her neck, sucking on the junction between her neck and shoulder, sucking a hickey there.
She wishes she could wrap her legs around his waist as he gives shallow grinds and thrusts into her clothed core while she breathlessly moans into his ear.
She wishes his hands would find themselves in her hair and give soft tugs to bring her head back whenever he wants to lick and kiss her neck the way he knows she'd like. She wishes she could just be surrounded by his warmth, his entire being-
What in the world is she thinking?!
It's wrong to think like that. It doesn't matter if he drives her insane with his stupid and small antics; she can't and won't give in. What if he doesn't even want her in the end? What would all her longing and yearnings be for? It would just be a waste.
Temptations are sickly sweet, but her dignity is stronger.
Ultimately, however, she doesn't give King a response. Her eyes look away from his golden gaze, a frown finding her lips. She's not even sure how she feels anymore.
She hears King hum, "You don't know," he simply states. Elizabeth looks at him, her brows quirked down and her eyes darting across his features. "It's written all over your face, Elizabeth," he continues.
"N-No," she denies, "all he ever does is tease me! It's like I want to trust and get to know him, but then he gets all cocky and it's so infuriating!" She ends with a groan.
"Yeah, I get that," King replies with a smile. "It was the same for me when I first met Boss. Well, minus the uh, teasing," a chuckle follows. Elizabeth looks away from King for moment as her eyes focus on the flats she wears on her feet. She can't help but think... Is there any good reason as to why Meliodas teases the shit out of her? The only thing that would "benefit" him are the wanton reactions she gives.
A soft exhale leaves her nose and a smile finds her lips. "He didn't tease you?" She quietly asks.
"Uh-uh. Not at first, any way. After he found out I had a crush on Diane, he and Ban goaded me about it."
They continue talking about whatever the world may have in store for them. They talk about how their sisters are like. King says something about how Elaine would go out of her way to help whoever and wherever they may need. It reminds Elizabeth of her own two sisters.
As King continues to talk about his sister, her phone buzzes in her back pocket. Curious as to who it would be, she takes out her phone.
Immediately, the notification reads Meliodas. She clicks on it, and her messaging app opens.
(Meliodas) - 1:28 P.M.
Hey, Princess. You're at the park with King and Diane, right?
(Elizabeth) - 1:29 P.M.
Yes. Why?
(Meliodas) - 1:29 P.M.
Meet me by the tallest building you see.
(Elizabeth) - 1:30 P.M.
Okay... That sounds really vague. Do I bring King and Diane?
(Meliodas) - 1:32 P.M.
No. I have something I need to discuss with you and only you.
(Elizabeth) - 1:32 P.M.
Okay. I'll be there in roughly five minutes.
Odd, that the blonde wants her to meet him at such a weird place, but fine by her she supposes. The silverette stands up, and she can feel King's golden gaze on her.
"Tired of me already?" He jokes.
Elizabeth turns around with a smile. "No, of course not. Meliodas just wants to talk to me about something," she tells him, her ocean gaze locking with his golden.
He softly hums, his eyes darting to the tennis court behind her where Diane is and back to her face. "Does this mean I have to be alone with Diane?"
Elizabeth softly chuckles as she puts a hand on King's shoulder and rubs it softly. "Yes, but you'll be fine. Maybe you'll be able to get something off your chest, huh, King?" She merely teases with a quick wink. She only laughs harder when his eyes go wide and a faint blush dusts his cheeks.
They say their goodbyes for now and Elizabeth is on her way to the one building she can already see the moment she looks up. It's still quite odd... Why didn't he want King or Diane to be there? And what does he need to tell her that he couldn't say over text? Even so, it's too late to even wonder why. She's already walking to where he wants her to be.
She walks past children still playing in the grass, past the people who decide to walk their small and adorable dogs alone the stone paths, and past the women that sit on lone park benches as they cradle their newborn babies to lull them into a quiet sleep.
The soft breeze of the air hits her exposed skin making Elizabeth sigh contentedly.
Elizabeth continues walking until she's in front of the building Meliodas wanted her to meet him at. Her silver hair cascades past her shoulders as she looks down at her phone. Nearly one-forty. But the blonde is nowhere in sight. She tiredly sighs before she takes a seat on the spacious steps that lead into the building.
How is he gonna tell her to meet him at a place she doesn't recognize and not be there when she gets there? Elizabeth expected him to be here; otherwise why would he have even asked her in the first place?
A scoff leaves her lips.
All the more reason she can't trust him.
While Elizabeth buries her face into her hands, she hears soft footsteps behind her. Is Meliodas here?
Lifting her head in the direction of the footsteps, an odd feeling of disappointment fills her veins. Instead of a messy mop of blonde hair and that silly cowlick accompanied by those nice and rich emerald hues, a woman fills her vision. She wears a white button-up blouse that's tucked into a black pencil skirt that ends at just under her knees. She seems to be Meliodas's height.
The woman twirls her dark hair with her index finger, a pleasant smile on her face. "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you," her voice sounds like an odd calm before a terrible storm, "but you look rather impatient. Are you waiting for someone?" The woman's dark green eyes dart all around Elizabeth's face.
Elizabeth realizes her lips were parted as she stares at the woman, but a smile quickly finds her lips. "Yes, actually," she answers the woman's question. "He should be here any moment now."
The woman smiles, "I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm running a little late to a business meeting," she softly chuckles. "Maybe I'll see you again?"
"Y-Yes, absolutely," Elizabeth says, but she's not sure if she can keep that promise. She doesn't even know this woman's name or who she even is. If they end up meeting again, then that'll be just amazing.
Anyhow, the conversation the silverette just had doesn't excuse Meliodas for being even more late than he already is.
This woman's eyes are a much richer blue; like the ocean, you can get so lost in them.
Elizabeth's skin immediately flushes at the thought of Meliodas's words. Why... Why did he say those words? Granted, it was because a customer nearly recognized her, but still... Did he think of those words on the fly? Surely that isn't how he actually thinks of her, is it?
No, of course it's not. He only said what he said so that her cover wasn't blown.
She feels a sad smile on her lips. It would be absurd. He wouldn't show her that kind of affection - not in a million years. And why would he? He's only known her for a week and vice versa. There's no way Meliodas would actually go that far to help her. There's just no way.
Not to mention, he only teases her for her reactions and for his own entertainment. But why does she find herself craving more of his touches?
"Sorry for making you wait, Princess," a voice says from behind her, and Elizabeth immediately whips her head to look at the person behind her. Her vision is nothing but that messy head of blonde hair, those cool and calming green eyes, and a small apologetic smile on his soft lips. She feels her lips tug into a grin as her ocean eyes look into his.
"It's fine," she softly says. Meliodas reaches an arm out to her, a soft invitation to help her stand. Elizabeth feels her lips softly part as she takes his hand. It's warm like it usually is, and she finds herself not letting go even after she's on her feet and already walking by the blonde's side. Elizabeth feels his fingers intertwine with hers and her skin only grows all that more pink.
Elizabeth clears her throat with a nervous smile. "Um, wh-where are we going?"
She hears him softly hum, "You'll see," he says with a warm chuckle.
Again with the secrecy, huh? Typical; since that's how he always has been with her in the short time she's known him. Just proves her point that their relationship can't blossom into something deeper...
Meliodas's hand is still intertwined with hers, even after they've reached their destination. At first, it just seems like an overly fancy restaurant (which she is super under-dressed for), but when they walk inside, an odd feeling runs through her body.
The room they find themselves in is dark; the walls are a dark color with splashes of red colors accompanying it. There's multiple tables and booths that people sit at. Small bouquets of red roses sit in the middle of the circular tables. If Elizabeth didn't know any better, she'd say this is the kind of place you take your significant other to go on dates with.
The blonde leads her to a booth that feels more secluded than the other seats he could've chosen. Meliodas lets go of her hand and she sits down opposite of him. When her aqua eyes meet his emeralds, she sees him leaning his head on his elbow and this... unexplainable emotion in his eyes.
It's like he's looking at her with love and admiration.
"Um," Elizabeth starts, breaking this incredibly awkward silence between them. "Why are we here exactly?"
He smiles at her as he leans back. "We're here because we need to discuss something important," he tells her.
"Okay, but what is so important that you had to bring me out of the park and couldn't just tell me over text?"
He chuckles, "This is my treat. And besides, I had a hunch you were kinda hungry. Especially after talking to King so much."
Elizabeth brow quirks up at the mention of talking to King. "How did you know I was talking to King?"
"You went to the park with King and Diane," Meliodas answers. "Plus, I know for a fact Diane always plays tennis whenever she goes to that park. King only goes because he can watch her from afar."
"That's... sweet, yet kind of creepy," Elizabeth jokes, a small chuckle following her statement. It's still sweet, though. Elizabeth wonders if Diane knows about King deliberately watching her while she isn't looking.
Meliodas hums in agreement. Though, before either one of them could speak another word, a woman wearing a white long sleeved shirt, a navy skirt she wore above equally dark leggings, and a small white apron around her waist stood at their table. "Hi, sorry for the wait," she says, her voice cheery and happy like the smile on her face as she hands them menus. "I'll give you two some time to decide on what you want."
And just like that, she left just as fast as she came.
Her aqua hues find Meliodas once more, but instead of looking at her, he's focused on the menu the woman handed them. Elizabeth decides to do the same. She grabs the menu, and her mouth waters at the first few dishes she looks at. Her eyes skim over the most delicious looking steak, the most mouth watering chicken wraps, but in the long run, the silverette decides to get a Caesar salad.
It doesn't take long for the waitress to return to their table to take their orders. After the woman leaves, Meliodas resumes to look at her with that same adorned look. Already, she can feel herself grow warmer - especially the place between her legs. As if on instinct, she softly rubs her thighs together, but the look he continues to give her does not help her current situation.
"I-I'm gonna go to the bathroom," the silver haired woman finds herself excusing herself. She can feel his eyes on her when she stands up and turns to the direction of the bathroom.
"M'kay, but hurry back, Princess," he purrs and Elizabeth is sure her cheeks are blaring red.
Elizabeth attempts to disregard Meliodas's plea as she hurriedly walks to the bathroom. She walks past the tables she looked at earlier and she doesn't stop moving her legs until she's past the door that leads into the women's restroom.
She stops moving once she grips the edges of the surprisingly clean bathroom sink. Her eyes dart to the mirror, and she takes in the sight of her creamy skin being flushed, and it doesn't hit the silverette until now that she's feeling hotter than she did when she was outside in the warm heat of the sun. Elizabeth turns on the sink and begins to gently splash some water on her face in hopes she'll cool off.
Taking a deep breath, Elizabeth thinks she's feeling better. And she prays to any and all lords above she isn't wrong.
Why does he make her feel this way?
Wiping her slightly wet hands on the cardigan she wears, Elizabeth doesn't think she can go back out to face the blonde, but it's inevitable; he has something he needs to tell her, and by all means, nothing will stop her from taking in the information he's bound to lay out to her.
She quickly brushes her fingers through her bangs before she walks out of the bathroom.
The second she walks out of the restroom, something is grabbing her wrist and suddenly, she's pinned to the wall. The air in her lungs can't seem to escape as her eyes look at the person pinning her. It's a man - probably a foot taller than she is - his amber-looking eyes holding an uncomforting layer of lust, his arms caging her in so she can't escape.
The man hums, and Elizabeth has never felt so disgusted in her life. "What's a nice looking lady like you doing here, hm?" His breath hits her cheeks, and she snaps her eyes shut in a mixture of fear and aversion.
"With tits and an ass like that, I bet you could keep a man occupied all night long," he continues, and now seems like a really good time for Elizabeth to just die. What the fuck is wrong with this guy?
"I-I'm here with s-someone," Elizabeth stutters, but the man doesn't seem to give two shits. He brings a hand to her hair and takes a strand of it and strokes it. She's never felt so violated in her life, dear God.
"Tell him you're sick. Come with me, baby," he continues to stoke her hair, but she smacks his hand away. He stares at her, and every single muscle in her body tenses.
He growls, and she cringes like she's never cringed in her life. "What's stopping me from taking you right here and now?"
She feels her chest constrict, her breathing pattern all of a sudden irregular. She opens her eyes, and she tries to look for something - anything that can help her in any sort of way. That's when her cerulean hues land on a familiar face. His molten green eyes appear angry, almost. A frown sits on his lips, too. "Because my boyfriend is right there," she answers in full confidence.
The man removes his arms from the sides of her head to turn around and look at Meliodas, and she takes the opportunity to push him and get the fuck out of this place. The man falls to the floor, and Elizabeth suddenly feels a hand on her wrist and she's being tugged along. Her eyes find the back of Meliodas's head as they run out of the restaurant.
Elizabeth feels like she can't breathe once they stop at a street corner, but she finds herself laughing. Meliodas quirks an eyebrow up at her. "Gods, that was exhilarating!" She exclaims as she places her hands on Meliodas's shoulders.
He hums, and she can already hear the cockiness. "Mm hm, because getting harassed in a public eating establishment is exhilarating."
"Shut up," she hisses as he places his hands on her waist. "Just let me have this moment."
"Y'know," Meliodas starts, a sly smirk on his face. "This time, it was you who used the boyfriend excuse." Her aqua orbs widen as the silverette realizes he's right.
"Well - I-I mean, it worked out, didn't it?" Elizabeth nervously chuckles.
He slightly cocks his head to the side, silently saying she's right. "Yeah, but you easily could've said something else to avert his attention," he notes, rubbing small circles on her hips that shoot wicked shocks of pleasure through her body. "You could've said friend, work partner, associate; anything else, really. But you're right; it did work out," he adds with a cheeky grin.
Elizabeth sighs, lowering her head to rest it on his shoulder. "So much for going out to get something to eat," she says, her voice muffled by Meliodas's jacket.
Meliodas pats her on the back, "It's okay. We can just get Ban to cook us something back at the bar."
She lifts her head up to meet his gaze. "Really? It won't inconvenience him?" Meliodas shakes his head, small smile on his lips.
"Nah. It's either he's cooking or getting drunk. He's a simple guy."
A meager giggle leaves her lips.
{-}
When they get back to the bar, Elizabeth opts to get into more comfortable clothes. And by comfortable, she means anything that isn't a spaghetti strap tank top, skin tight jeans and flats. She comes out of her room with her hair in a high ponytail, a slightly baggy light colored t-shirt and a pair of shorts.
As she nears the kitchen, she can hear the distinct voices of Meliodas and Ban.
"Listen, Boss, I know she's already been here for a bit longer than a week," Elizabeth hears Ban say, "but are you sure we can trust her? I mean - what if she ends up reporting all this to the president?" There's a moment of silence between them, and Elizabeth can't help but feel a little hurt. Does Ban think she's not trustworthy? And why would she rat them out to her father?
"Nah," Meliodas disagrees. "She wouldn't. I just know it."
"Alright, whatever you say, Boss."
Elizabeth sits on a stool by the bar, Meliodas soon coming out of the kitchen. "Yo, Elizabeth," she hears him say. The silver haired woman turns her head to him, their gazes almost instantly meeting. "Ban's workin' on cookin' the food," he informs her. She smiles and gives a shallow nod.
Before she knows it, he's sliding into the seat next to her. Oddly enough, it reminds her of when they first met, in Arthur's bar.
"You never did tell me what you wanted to say," she whispers, breaking the sudden silence in the room. He hums, leaning his elbows on the counter of the bar.
"Mm hm, that I didn't. Well, after going through the file Jericho gave us," the blonde starts, "we found a schedule. The judge has two people doing supply runs of sorts, but for, y'know, trading drugs. In roughly two days by noon, they've got a scheduled meetup. I plan to record anything they say and get some pictures, too."
So, Mael's got people doing his own bidding? How great.
"And I would be useful in this how, exactly?" Elizabeth asks. But in all seriousness, how would she be of any use? She barely even knows how to be a waitress.
Meliodas puts a hand on her back and slowly rubs, causing her entire body to burn. "If I didn't think you would be useful, I wouldn't have told you about this, now would I?"
Her lips softly twitch into a grin. "I don't think I would be useful anyway," she whispers as she leans onto his shoulder and he wraps an arm around hers. "All I do is fuck up and I can't ever make up for my mistakes. Like today; if I just hadn't gone to the bathroom, you wouldn't have had to come save me. Again. And we wouldn't have to be bothering Ban."
She feels his hand continuously rub her shoulder. It weirdly calms her. "Well, you had to use the bathroom, didn't you?"
There's no way Meliodas doesn't know why she had to go. He's not that clueless, Elizabeth knows it. "You know why I went," she dryly whispers as she closes her eyes.
"Mm, I know," he hums low. His hand moves to her hair and he starts idly running his fingers through it. Elizabeth leans into his touch without thought, and she's certain she's bound to fall asleep soon. Meliodas's fingers continue to slowly run through the soft silver hair of her ponytail.
His other hand grabs hers and he begins tracing tiny circles on the back of her hand. Elizabeth wonders if the blonde just really likes rubbing and tracing small circles on her skin whenever he gets the chance. Not that she doesn't really mind; it actually makes her feel calm, in a way. Who knew the most dangerous member of the Deadly Sins could be so... caring and comforting like this.
In all the time she's known the leader of the Sins, he's always been overly cocky and shit like that, but she will admit; she likes having moments like this with him. When he holds her like she's his most prized possession. Is it odd that she wants this to happen more often?
Come to think of it...
When was the last time she was held like this?
Someone clears their throat behind them. Elizabeth's heart feels like it's about to burst right out of her chest. She lifts her head off Meliodas's shoulder, but her hand remains under his. Her vision is filled with white hair and red eyes once she whips her head around to look into the direction of the sound of someone clearing their throat.
"No point in trying to make it seem like you weren't just cuddlin' Boss's ass, Princess," Ban comments with a toothy grin. The silverette's skin heats up once again, and all of a sudden, she's not hungry. But regardless, Ban inches closer and places their food in front of them on the counter. Her eyes follow Ban as he helps himself to a bottle of alcohol.
Neither Elizabeth nor Meliodas make a comment, and she's glad. Elizabeth doesn't think she'll be able to handle any more teasing.
{-}
It's nearly time to open, but Elizabeth doesn't feel like doing anything. She lays on her bed, her head cushioned by her soft pillow, doing nothing but staring at her smooth ceiling. She's barely done anything today, and most of the energy in her body feels like it's been completely drained. A sigh escapes her as she rolls onto her side.
Her aqua hues find the faint light of the sunset peaking in through the slits of her curtains.
Then, soft knocking is heard on her door. "Come in," she softly says as she sits up on her bed. The door slowly opens and Elizabeth's gaze finds a familiar head of brown hair, only it's picked up in two pigtails. A big smile is on Diane's lips and she seems to radiate with excitement.
"Boss has a surprise for us!" The brunette exclaims as she walks further into the room. Before Elizabeth could even ask, Diane's grabs her hands and tugs her out of bed. The silverette lets out a surprised noise once she's on her feet and moving with Diane.
"Diane, calm down!" Elizabeth begs, but Diane don't oblige. "Diane, what is going on?!" But the brunette doesn't answer. She continues to tug her along until they're inside the bar, and instead of multiple customers sitting at the tables sipping away at their mugs of alcohol, the bar is... empty. Other than Ban, King and Meliodas sitting at one of the tables near the TV attached to the wall.
Once they get closer to the table, Elizabeth decides to scan the room for a minute. On the counter of the bar, she sees a black box with a small blue light next to the power button. It seems familiar to her for some reason. Her gaze turns from it to the table the men sit at. There's four white controllers with direction pads, an A button, and two other buttons that hold the numbers one and two. There's also a tablet looking device next to the controllers, too.
Elizabeth looks at Meliodas once Diane lets go of her hands. "What is this?" She hears herself asking, breaking the silence. In the corner of her eyes, she can see Ban and King smile widely.
"Why, it's a Wii, of course!" Meliodas answers cheerfully. He hands her a controller, "I found it while I was cleaning out some stuff in my closet. Do you wanna play?"
King clears his throat, "Well, the Wii that most people didn't like."
Hesitantly, she grabs the controller, the weight of it kind of light in her palm. "It's been forever since I last played on any console," she admits as she takes a seat between King and Ban.
Meliodas gives a humble and short laugh. "It's alright. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't played in a while either."
"You'll do just fine, Elizabeth," Diane says from behind her as she rubs a quick circle on her back. Elizabeth looks behind her and flashes the brunette a warm smile and nods her head. She turns her head back to Meliodas, but she only sees the back of his head; he's stood up and is now by the console.
"What are we going to play?" Elizabeth asks.
"We're playin' Mario Party, Princess," Ban answers.
Elizabeth can't help the bright and wide smile that finds her lips. "Oh! I used to play Mario Party with my sisters and some friends all the time!" She says cheerily. "I've never lost a game!"
Ban heartily laughs next to her, and Elizabeth's eyes find his. He gives her a sly grin. "Well, clearly, you've never played with us, dear Ellie," a threatening tone in his voice. Elizabeth continues to smile, but she raises an eyebrow at the white haired man. She cocks her head to the side, her smile only growing that much wider.
"Mm hm," she quickly hums. "And you've never played against me, Fox," the silverette retorts, putting emphasis on the tittle of his sin.
The white haired man laughs once again. "Oh ho, feisty now are we, Ellie?"
"Ban," Meliodas says, a scolding tone in his voice. "We're playing to have fun, not to rip each other's limbs apart."
Ban rolls his eyes, but continues to give Elizabeth this stare of dominance. "Yeah, yeah. But I'm gonna be the one to win."
"We're playing Bowser mode."
"Then I'll play the damned turtle!"
"But you hate playing on the gamepad."
"I'll play it if it means I can beat the president's daughter!"
Elizabeth looks away from Ban and Meliodas, her gaze finding Diane's amethyst. The women burst into a fit of soft bubbling laughter.
Soon enough, the game is loaded and they're playing the game. When they choose their characters, Elizabeth decides to play as Princess Peach. And of course, she would get teased for it. She hears Ban laugh. "Hah! She doesn't like bein' called 'Princess', yet she's playin' Princess Peach!"
Meliodas chuckles next to her. "The irony, huh Ban?" Elizabeth can tell Meliodas is trying to hold back his laughter.
Ban, however, laughs like his life depended on it. "It's really not that funny," King comments.
Elizabeth watches Ban smack King on the back. "If you called her Princess, you would understand!"
They play for what feels like an eternity, but if she's honest with herself, she can't remember the last time she's had this much fun with other people.
For once, Elizabeth feels the most happiest she's felt in a long time.
