Soft droplets of rain hit the roof of the car. It's nearly eleven at night judging by the digit clock of the built-in radio. She feels a bit drowsy as she grips the steering wheel due to how much she made herself push through at work, but it was well worth it. She got to go home earlier than planned and she gets to see her fiancé.

The windshield wipers wipe the rain away as they fall onto the glass, making her vision and path clear to her eyes. She smiles as she pulls into the driveway of her shared home, happily exiting the car with a soft thud of the car door closing after turning the car off.

Her silver hair gets slightly wet, but she doesn't mind. She takes her house key in hand and unlocks the front door. Dropping her bag onto the floor, she makes her way towards her bedroom to see if her fiancé is still awake. As she nears the bedroom, she hears what she thinks is a pained groan that sounds like it belongs to him, so she speeds up. She places a hand on the doorknob, but as she goes to turn it, she hears a woman. Moaning. And he's groaning with her.

Tears fill her eyes and she hastily turns around and leaves as fast as she can. She grabs the bag she set down on the floor and slams the front door. She gets into her car and drives over to the place her older sisters are staying at. Tears roll down her tainted cheeks, and her phone starts ringing. She glances over to it as immediately turns her phone off as she reads the caller ID. Him.

The whole world is a big blur; the next thing she knows, she's with her sisters and in their arms. Margaret runs her fingers gently through Elizabeth's silver hair while Veronica holds one of Elizabeth's hands, comforting her in every way. After she'd told them what her (now ex) did, they both looked like they wanted to commit a terrible crime. But of course, they wouldn't. Maybe Veronica, but not Margaret.

The next morning, loud knocking is present at the front door. Elizabeth opens the door only to reveal a face she didn't want to see anytime soon, or ever again for that matter.

He has a smile on his face though it doesn't look apologetic in the slightest. It seems so... sinister and cynical. "What do you want?" Elizabeth spat with annoyance and hate laced in her words. She glares at him, her blue eyes on the verge of once again breaking down into tears. He tries to walk further into the house, but Elizabeth stops him from going any further. He scoffs then smirks as he puts a hand on her shoulder. She scowls and jerks her shoulder to remove his unwanted touch.

"Look babe, what you heard isn't what you think it was," he chuckles. Elizabeth looks at him in disgust.

"You have no right to call me that," she retorts, "and I know what I heard. We're done." Elizabeth tries to slam the door, but his hand stops the door from closing. He forces himself into the house and panic fills her veins. She crosses her arms as she glares at him once more. Her breathing is slightly shaky and off, but she tries to shrug it off.

"C'mon, Elizabeth," he tempts, and she cringes at the mention of her name leaving his mouth. "It's not that big a deal." The silverette scoffs and lightly laughs.

"Not that big a deal? Really, Jeremy? Cheating on your fucking fiancé isn't a big deal?" Her voice rises with every word she speaks, and she honestly can't bring herself to care. The person she thought loved her more than anything broke her heart like it was nothing. And he claims it isn't a big deal? It's pathetic.

The man smirks as he comes closer to her. "Look, she means nothing to me, alright? I only love you."

She knits her eyebrows together. "No, don't give excuses. You knew what you were doing; just - having sex with another woman while I was at work because you sought out the opportunity? No, I'm done, okay? Get out."

"Ellie, please," he begs. She lets out a shaky exhale. "I said no. Did - Did you think that I would just be fine with this? What if I hadn't come back when I did? I'd be marrying someone who wouldn't even return the feelings I thought I had." She takes a step back, only for her back to hit the wall. He comes closer, but she removes the engagement ring from her finger and throws it with all her might at him. He screams out in pain as the ring makes contact with his skin, causing a large cut to be present on his forehead, some blood trickling down from it. At this point, he seems angry rather than cocky, and he pins her to the wall she backed up into.

"Gil!" The silverette yells for her sister's boyfriend (and her best friend) and the pinkette rushes into the room. He doesn't even say a word as his aqua eyes land on the man that broke Elizabeth's heart. Gilthunder pulls the man off Elizabeth and kicks him out of the house. She closes her eyes as she feels tears well in her eyes.

Though, before he leaves the house, he yells, "Elizabeth, you're nothing but an inconsiderate whore!"

When she opens her eyes, she's no longer in her sisters' house. She's in Meliodas's bar.

It was just a dream. It felt like she was reliving a terrible memory. Elizabeth lets out a sigh of relief as she lays her head back down on what she thinks is a pillow. But it's a bit too hard to be a pillow...

She lifts her head only to see a certain blonde sleeping underneath her soundly. Her lips twitch into a small smile as she tucks her head back into his chest. She feels him shift against her, his hand on her waist protectively.

"Good morning, Princess," he whispers into her ear. Her eyes snap open as she lifts her head, their gazes locking. Her cheeks flush with a bright blush, causing the blonde to chuckle. She sits up, realizing she's made a big mistake by doing that. Elizabeth only realizes now, especially judging by the smirk present on his lips, that she's straddling his hips. Elizabeth tries to avert his gaze, and when she does, she realizes she's no longer in the bar where she had fallen asleep last night; she's back in her room, only, of course, with Meliodas under her. The heat rises to her cheeks as she scrambles to get off of him, thought it doesn't exactly work in her favor. Now, he towers over her, his breath fanning over her flushed cheeks. Her breathing practically stops when his lips are just barely a hair from hers. But he doesn't kiss her like she expected to. Instead, he moves and presses a kiss to the hickey he'd given her a day or two ago.

"Good morning," her reply finally comes, her voice just below a whisper. He gives her a cheeky, lopsided grin before he climbs off of her. Meliodas sits on the edge of the bed, though Elizabeth doesn't know what exactly he could be looking at. She sits up on the bed, her cerulean orbs never leaving his figure. When he turns around, his eyes shine with the daylight peeking in through the slits of her curtains. That rich green bores into her own cool oceans.

Without thinking, her body moves on its own. And before she even registers the movement, her lips press to his cheek lightly. Elizabeth blushes after comprehending what she had just done, but the blonde only flashes her a quick grin before he stands up, inevitably making the bed feel empty once again.

The silver haired woman watches his every move as he walks toward her door. Before he leaves, he looks over his shoulder to lock eyes with her. "I'm sure King is awake. Do you want to go get coffee with him?" He asks her. She raises a brow at him as she moves to get off the bed.

"Why can't I go with you?" She asks, the words coming out of her mouth before she had time to process them.

Meliodas smiles at her. It's such a sweet smile; it's more than enough to make any woman swoon. Elizabeth feels herself blush from the crown of her head to her toes. "I'm sorry, Princess, but I have some things to take care of. I'll be back before you know it," he apologizes with a grin. Elizabeth can't help but smile back with a curt nod.

Then she's left alone in her room. She stares at the door Meliodas just walked through with a heavy sigh. Why does she get this feeling that she should've said or done something? Why does she feel this way every time she and Meliodas share such intimate moments?

Shaking her head, she turns around and decides to get dressed for the day. Her eyes immediately land on the hoodie Meliodas had given her. Without a thought, she walks over to it, gently picking it up with trembling hands. Her hands continue to quiver and she tilts her head back and closes her eyes. She takes a deep breath and tries to take her mind off the way she trembles. Maybe the dream she had shook her up more than she thought it did. Literally.

Though at the same time, who could blame her? Nobody deserves to go through what Elizabeth went through.

Soon enough, Elizabeth calms down and puts on a clean shirt and leggings. She wears Meliodas' hoodie too, knowing if she went out without a jacket covering her and he found out, he'd get upset with her. And his hoodie feels comfortable anyways, so it's a win-win situation, really.

True to his word, King is awake and, in the bar, when she enters. His golden eyes find Elizabeth's and gives her a quick smile. She smiles back, and he stands and walks to her. "Boss said you wanted coffee, so I waited for you," the auburn tells her. The silverette smiles at how kind King is.

{-}

They walk in silence as they make their way towards the nearest coffee shop. It's cold enough to see yourself exhale.

"How are things going with you and Diane?" Elizabeth asks, breaking the silence she couldn't bear to have continue. They don't look at each other as the walk and talk, but the silver haired woman doesn't mind in the slightest.

"O-Oh, umm," King stammers, causing Elizabeth to chuckle softly. "Things are going great! I-I think, at least. I wanna tell her how I feel, but I'm just really scared she won't like me back. Then things will just get awkward between us!"

"Don't worry, King," Elizabeth reassures with a smile as she turns her head to look at the auburn haired man. His golden eyes seem a bit confused, but they also hold a worried look to them. "It's better to say what you feel as opposed to just keep it all bottled up. And besides, I'm sure Diane feels the same way," she says with a wide smile. His lips twitch into a smile, likely telling himself everything's gonna be fine between himself and Diane.

"What about you and Boss?" He suddenly asks. Elizabeth immediately blushes at the mention of the blonde and turns her head so their gazes aren't locked.

King chuckles, only making the silverette's blush worse. "What about me and him?" She asks, pretending to be dumbfounded.

A soft exhale leaves King. "Ellie, don't get me wrong, we all like you, but we've all seen the way you two look at each other. Especially Boss, and that, uh, mark he gave you," he points out. Unconsciously, she lifts a hand to the hickey he'd given her. Her eyebrows furrow as she turns her head to look at the man once again.

Then her eyes suddenly widen at her next thought: "Did... everyone see it?"

He hums, "Mm hm, so did Merlin. She interrogated him about it after you went to your room. Boy was she pissed," he chuckled. Elizabeth slowly averts her gaze from King and practically instantly zones out. Gods, she can only think of the worst. Merlin was protective, not that it's a bad thing, but she would fly off the handle at the smallest things. Like, for example, now with the hickey. Who knows what Merlin told Meliodas, but Elizabeth knows Merlin wouldn't go too far. Then her mind wanders to what King said. The way you two look at each other... Is it that obvious? She'll admit, maybe she's developed some sort of feelings for the blonde, and maybe he might reciprocate those feelings, but is it really that easy to tell with the mere glances and looks they share? Surely it isn't, right?

"Ban is probably going to tease the fuck out of you, just a heads up," King warns. Elizabeth chuckles, knowing she wouldn't expect any less from the tall man.

"Diane already teased me; I don't think it could get any worse," Elizabeth jokes. King gives a lengthy laugh, making the silverette crack a smile before she laughs along with him.

Not long after they stop laughing and joking around, they finally get to the coffee shop. It's different from the one she and Meliodas had gone to, and she will say; it seems a lot more lively than any other coffee shops she's ever been to. The walls are light lavender color with many plants in spots where it wouldn't cause an inconvenience. The places seems very well cared for. Elizabeth's gaze follows a wall full of flowers - more specifically, white roses and red carnations.

"Fascinated, huh?" King asks, chuckling as he breaks Elizabeth's train of thought. She smiles, though she doesn't turn to auburn haired man. She only nods as her sparkling eyes take in the sight and inspect each flower as closely as she can.

Time flies by as she and King chat and drink their coffees, and before either of them knew it, it was nearly one in the afternoon. The pair go back to the bar before Elizabeth has to leave with Meliodas in a couple of hours. When they enter, they're met with the sight of Diane wiping down a table, preparing the bar for later tonight.

Diane looks up from the table she was currently cleaning and flashes both Elizabeth and King a smile. "What took you guys so long?" She asks, keeping her wide smile. Elizabeth and King walk further into the bar, sitting at one of the tables Diane had already cleaned.

"We just got lost in conversation is all, Di," King answers the brunette's question. "Can you believe Elizabeth wasn't able to date till she was in college, but dated people middle and high school anyway?" The auburn haired man says, making Elizabeth blush in embarrassment.

Swatting King's shoulder, Elizabeth exclaims, "King! I told you that in confidence!"

The brunette presses the cloth she uses to clean with to the table as she brings a hand up to her mouth to stifle her obvious upcoming rounds of giggles, but ultimately bursts into a fit laughter. The silverette huffs, her cheeks still a bright pink from the embarrassment.

Once Diane's laughter dies down and she's gasping in attempt to regain a stable breathing pattern, she looks at Elizabeth. "I-I'm so s-sorry," the brunette apologizes in-between giggles. "Oh God," Diane sighs, her laughing finally stopping. "Hey King, what time is it?" She asks the auburn haired man.

He looks at the wrist watch on his wrist, "About one-thirty. Why?"

Instead of giving a direct answer, Diane leaves the cloth at the table she was cleaning and grabs Elizabeth arm, yanking her off the seat. Elizabeth yelps as Diane drags her into the hallway with the Sins' bedrooms.

"We have to get you ready for Boss!"

After Diane forced the silverette to take a shower, she now stands in front of her vanity staring at her body that's being covered by a single towel wrapped around her torso (also covering her privates, of course). She turns her body to the side and places a hand on her flat stomach. A sigh leaves her lungs as she stares at herself. Sudden doubt fills her mind. Had she gained weight? Is this why her ex-fiancé didn't want her anymore? Because he wasn't satisfied with the way she looked? Or maybe he just didn't see her as beautiful or pretty anymore. After all, it's likely the reason why he'd stopped calling her such things after he had proposed. Maybe she just wasn't meant to be loved by another that way.

"Elizabeth?" A feminine voice interrupts her thoughts. Elizabeth turns her head to the side to see worried purple eyes staring at her. She removes her hand from her stomach as tries to give a reassuring smile.

"I'm alright, Diane. I was just thinking," the silver haired woman attempts to put the brunette's nerves at ease. Diane smiles, though her smile doesn't seem very happy or ecstatic. She comes closer to Elizabeth and grabs her hands, guiding her to sit on the bed.

"That's not all though, is it?" She asks.

Elizabeth's gaze locks with hers and she can't help but feel a bit sad. "No..." Her voice is just below a whisper, and she can't seem to bring herself to tell a lie. And either way, Diane would likely be able to tell if she was lying or not. Diane urges her to tell her what could be wrong.

"I-I was just thinking about my ex," Elizabeth admits, and the brunette's expression turns into something along the lines of hatred, but decides not to say anything and allow the silverette to continue. "When I looked into the mirror, I couldn't help but think; maybe he just didn't see me as pretty like he used to and that's what caused him to cheat. I looked into the mirror and all I saw is a woman who can't do anything right."

Diane sighs, though her eyes stay focused on Elizabeth's blue hues. Squeezing the silver haired woman's hands, she says, "You're lucky Boss isn't the one talking to you right now," she says under her breath. Elizabeth's eyebrow slightly raises in confusion, not exactly understanding what the brunette means. "Listen Ellie, you're an amazing person, okay? Your ex was wrong to cheat on you; he has no idea what he's missing out on. And who do you think you are calling yourself not pretty? You're literally the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life! Hell, Boss drools every time he sees you! And everyone's human; it's okay to make mistakes every now and then!"

Elizabeth feels her cheeks heat up from the praise and a smile finds her lips. It feels... good to hear those words, especially from someone she can get along with so well. "No he doesn't," Elizabeth blushes harder, denying what Diane said about Meliodas, but deep down, she knows she's probably right.

"Believe what you want, Ellie," the brunette chuckles. She then stands up and claps her hands together, a wide smile on her face. "Right then! Let's get you dressed!"

{-}

She stares at herself in the mirror; Elizabeth wears a black sheath that hugs any and all of her curves and stops at about mid-thigh. The sleeves are short, and her long silver hair is in a bun. She wears a bit of makeup, including the spot where Meliodas had given her a hickey. If you were to look close enough, you could see the faint outline of the mark, but she prays Meliodas is the only one that would be that close to her. Besides Diane (and the other Sins unfortunately), the blonde knows fully well where the mark is and who did it. And he's damn well proud of it, too.

Her somewhat long nails scrape the material of her single earring that she continues to keep on the edge of her vanity, wondering how her father and sisters are doing. It seems like it would be a good idea to check up on them by giving them a phone call or even a text, but truth be told, she's got such amazing people looking after her like she's family even though she's not related in the slightest bit. They make all her doubts and worries just melt away with just a mere smile!

She won't even mention the shit Meliodas does to her. Every time he grins at her, her stomach does wicked flips and it fills with butterflies like no tomorrow. She always grows warmer at just a glance at him; whether it be a sliver of his messy golden locks or his rich green orbs.

Elizabeth soft blue hues fixate themselves on the door through the mirror when she hears it crack open, and speak of the damn devil.

Meliodas stands in the threshold, his viridescent eyes staring back at her with a small smile. "Are you ready to go, my Princess?" He asks. Elizabeth pretends he didn't just call her "my princess." She gives an enthusiastic nod, surprising herself with the fact she's actually excited to be going to wherever this place may be.

"Yeah," she says, turning away from the mirror to physically look at him. "Where are we going, by the way?" Elizabeth can't help but ask, seeing as how the blonde hadn't told her anything about the place he plans on taking her to.

"Arthur's bar, actually. He wanted to boost his sales and whatnot so he decided to plan this event to essentially advertise, I guess," he answers the silverette's question. Elizabeth feels herself smile at the mention of her dear friend. It's been a few weeks since she last talked to him so maybe it'd be nice to see him again.

Soon enough, she finds herself hooking her arm up to the crook of Meliodas' own arm as they walk into the bar. Almost instantly, Diane who now wears the uniform for the bar squeals loud at the sight of the two.

"Oh my God! You two look so cute!" The brunette exclaims. Heat rises up to her cheeks and she tries to avert Diane's gaze. Though, instead of not making any eye contact with anyone, her eyes lock with a familiar pair of deep scarlet. The silver haired woman nearly freezes in something along the lines of fear. Then her eyes take in the details of the white haired man's sly smirk. The look Ban gives her makes her shiver and gives her a feeling of discomfort.

Somehow, she manages to tear her blue eyes away from Ban's and decides to just stare at the floor. Locking gazes with anyone else isn't exactly ideal for her. The heat on her cheeks got hotter and it somehow hasn't cooled down even as she and Meliodas enter the cool air of the late afternoon. They don't share any words as they get into the car or even as he drives them to Arthur's bar.

"You look beautiful tonight," he admits, breaking the silence in the air. Elizabeth feels her cheeks heat up and takes a quick moment to actually examine the blonde. Her blue eyes roam his figure; he wears a clean white button-up shirt and dark jeans - so basically what he normally wears when he's bar-tendering with King. But for some reason, this time feels a bit... different in a way.

Though, she can't deny that he looks good. Just looking at him right now makes her heart beat out of her chest.

"Thank you. You look good too," her reply comes and he raises an eyebrow at her, though his eyes stay glued to the road ahead.

"You see me wearing this every other day. Surely you're used to it," Meliodas comments and he isn't wrong.

"Just because you wear the same clothes doesn't mean you can't look good in it anytime and every time you wear it." Her eyes widen in realization of the words that just came out of her mouth. She can feel the blood rush to her face as she looks away from the blonde.

All she hears is a soft chuckle coming from him. "Nice to know you think of me that way Princess." His tone is soft, yet teasing and it certainly doesn't make her blush any better. Her face feels a thousand times hotter than it already was, but she can't seem to find herself denying his accusation. Hell, is it even an accusation if he's right and she knows it? She can't even negate her own thoughts at this point. Elizabeth knows she wants him; it's been a given fact lately. But of course, there's a part of her mind that tells her he doesn't feel the same. And yes, he wouldn't. She's nothing special. She doesn't deserve his time, affection, love or any of the touches or intimate moments they share.

She's not deserving of any of it.

Not in the slightest.

Either way, why would the blonde even like her in the first place? There's a ton of other women that are better-looking than she is, more kinder and more thoughtful. Less clumsy and less worrisome. A better friend - fuck, a better sister. The silverette just somehow causes trouble no matter what she does, no matter where she goes. So... Yeah. There are other people better than her and she accepts that. Diane was wrong to say Elizabeth was the most prettiest girl in the world earlier. She doesn't feel pretty right now. And Meliodas is wrong, too. She isn't beautiful.

Maybe all these negative thoughts are what drove her ex away in the first place. All this self-doubt. A scoff leaves her lips, knowing she's probably right. She can't be proud of her own accomplishments or small goals. She can't even be proud of herself.

Suddenly, the silverette feels a hand on her dimpled knee. She turns her head to look at the blonde driving with one hand now, his eyes still focused on the road ahead. "You okay?" His words are soft in her ears, and she unconsciously smiles at her eyes dart from his face to his soft blonde locks.

"Y-Yeah, I'm good," she says, but her words don't really sound convincing. She watches his expression change drastically, but this time his eyes find hers once the car stops.

The blonde's bright orbs stare into Elizabeth's warm ocean hues with concern. "You're terrible at lying, you know that?" A frown finds her lips at his statement.

"What's wrong?"

What's wrong, huh? It's not like she's currently doubting herself in just about anything and everything she's ever done. Nope, not at all.

"Just not really feeling myself right now," she answers, looking away from his stern gaze.

"What do you mean?"

"I-I just-" a sigh leaves her as she closes her eyes for just a moment. "Diane told me I'm this... amazing and beautiful person who deserves the world and more, but my conscious keeps telling me that I'm not anything she said. I'm just a woman who doesn't fit in with anybody. I can't do anything right. I couldn't even keep my fiancé." Her words become quiet near the end of her statement and by God is she trying her damnedest not to cry right now. Elizabeth doesn't want her makeup to run, especially if she's about to walk into a place where everyone's going to look all fancy and pretty.

When the silverette turns her head, Meliodas's green hues are still on her. He gives a small and quick smile before he grabs her hand. "I'll just have to one-up Diane then," he says under his breath. "Elizabeth, listen to every word that is going to come out of my mouth, 'kay?" He politely orders, and she gives a short nod. "Diane's right. You are an amazing woman, and a fucking beautiful one at that. You do deserve the world and your ex is just a prick with a big ego, okay? He doesn't know what an astounding and stunning woman he let go of. Anyone would be over-the-stars and moon lucky to have you in their lives. Even the Sins love you and they haven't even known you for that long. So, tell your conscious that it has no room to talk to you that way because are you so deserving of all the love in the world."

Elizabeth watches his green eyes dart around the features of her face as she feels her cheeks heat up in the words and praises he gave her. A wide smile tugs at her lips as she smiles brightly at the blonde who returns the smile just as big and bright. "Thank you, Meliodas," the silverette expresses her gratitude.

"There's no need to thank me. I just want you to be as happy as possible. You shouldn't think so negatively about yourself like that."

A soft exhale leaves the silver haired woman's nose. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It won't happen again, I promise," she swears with a smile. He smiles back once more and gives her hand a single squeeze before he leans forwards and presses his lips to her cheek. Already, she feels her face heat up against the soft touch of his lips. When he pulls away, Elizabeth gives him a kiss of her own to his forehead before he can even get himself seated again.

However, when she pulls away, she sees a satisfied smirk on his face. Or maybe it's a smirk that says 'if we weren't here, I'd do more than just this'. Either way, she flushes a deep pink under his gaze and knowing smirk.
