The next morning...
Buttercup opened her eyes.
She strangely felt a little better than yesterday, although her jaw still ached and she could still feel the pain in her stomach and every place she got hit, she could now be aware of her surroundings.
She yawned and stretched. "Ah, that's no way to sleep." Blossom and Bubbles already left the bed. It was Saturday, so it was mostly her day off.
After she washed her face, (carefully) brushed and flossed her teeth and finally fixed her hair, she headed downstairs.
She could feel her heart still beating quickly from everything that happened yesterday, so she decided to just relax on the couch at the moment.
"Umm, Buttercup?"
Usually, at the sound of Blossom's voice, she would groan knowing she'll give an order, but now, she nearly jumped off her own skin.
"Woah! Oh. Blossom." She managed to say with her aching jaw. Although she finally calmed down, she could still feel her body tense at the sight of her sister. She didn't want to appear weak though, so she forced herself to continue talking. "What is it? Can't you see i'm trying to relax?"
Blossom nodded. "I can see that. But I need to have a word with you and I want you to pay close attention."
Too tired to argue anymore, Buttercup nodded sternly.
"First, tomorrow is a big day for us Powerpuff Girls. We're going to the Mayor's place, heroes from all over the world will be coming. We are to be on our best behaviours. Second, Bubbles' teddy bear ripped." She then handed Buttercup some money. "The last of your allowance, you're gonna take her to the toy store so she can get a new one."
Butercup couldn't believe this. The last of her allowance... was gonna be spend on a Teddy Bear. Nope. That was not happening.
"The Professor already gave her money, why should I waste mine for a stupid toy!?" She immadiately regreted screaming, for her jaw started aching even more.
Blossom was just as angry, but she kept her voice stern. "A: You're still punished. B: Your Super powers will protect you. And C: She's your sister!!! I expect her to have it by tomorrow." She flew away before Buttercup could protest.
Enraged, Buttercup lifted the couch, but stopped and yelped when her stomach suddenly started hurting by the pressure. Buttercup groaned.
If only she had the strength right now to talk back...
15 minutes later...
Buttercup hit the pause button from Blarney, the Singing Sea Serpent as her stomach began growling with hunger. Since she couldn't eat any hard foods at the moment, she decided to make a salad.
In the kitchen, after setting the salad in a plate, she noticed Bubbles on the other side of the kitchen making herself toast, holding Octi in one of her arms while she grabed two pieces of bread. A knife on her left, and a small can of spice beside her. Oh well, spice didn't count as hard food.
Turning back to get a fork, Buttercup called to her younger sister. "Hey, Bubbles, can you pass me the spice?"
Bubbles looked up from the other side of the kitchen. Being only five, she didn't knew anything yet about knife safety, but she did heard the word 'knife', so she grabed it for Buttercup...
... And THREW it in the air.
"Okay, Buttercup, catch!"
Hearing Bubbles' scream, Buttercup turned around. "Wh-"
SPLAT!
The knife hit her in the eye.
3 hours later...
The Professor stepped aside after he finished wrapping the last of the bandage around Buttercup's right eye. "Alright, all good."
Did she just hear 'good'?
"I lost my eye, how is this good!!!???" She had to learn to keep her mouth shut, cause the aching once again began to feel worse.
"Calm down Buttercup, no, you didn't lost your eye, it's just wounded at the moment. In the meantime, this bandage, my latest creation, will help you cure it."
Buttercup sighed. She certaintly wasn't gonna speak so she nodded her thanks and made her way out of the lab.
Bubbles was outside the door, about to say something, but Buttercup warned her with a harsh glare saying You better keep your mouth shut
She headed back up to her room, she wasn't hungry anymore.
She sighed and decided to take a nap. Tommorow, everything will be better. She told herself.
