The Difference One Choice Makes

29th June 1974

Dorea Potter nee Black was a witch on a mission as she walked through the halls of Black Castle which was the original ancestral home of the Black Family and was the personal residence of her Paternal Cousin Arcturus Black III. The current Lord Black had taken ownership of the castle after his own children Lucretia and Orion had graduated Hogwarts with Orion making Arcturus's former home of Twelve Grimmauld Place his own place of residence.

Owing to her magic and a few expensive magical cosmetic treatments, the 54-year-old Witch looked like she was in her late thirties with long black hair and smooth facial features, unlike her other Black Family members all of whom had chiselled aristocratic faces.

Passing a long line of portraits dating back to the first members of House Black Dorea finally reached Arcturus's private study. Though she would have normally knocked before entering her manners deserted her on this occasion and she just opened the polished black wooden door before entering.

Sat at his desk looking over scrolls pertaining to his Family's finances and numerous business deals Arcturus Black III did not even look up at her.

The current Lord Black was 73 years old with short greying black hair and matching facial hair dressed in black suit-like robes with a stern hard look on his chiselled aristocratic face.

Arcturus Black III had risen to the head of the Black Family at the age of 25 following the death of his Father Sirius Black II in 1926.

Following her Cousin's ascension to Lord Black, the then 17-year-old Dorea found herself betrothed to Lord Fleamont Potter's 17-year-old Cousin Charlus Potter thanks to Arcturus Black's ambitious plans to link House Black with other Houses of worthy blood. Dorea could not have been happier to marry her old classmate finding him charming and confident with the two tying the knot two weeks after they graduated from Hogwarts.

"Did I say come in?" said Arcturus sternly.

Dorea walked towards her Cousin and sat down opposite him.

"I am not Pollux or his greedy children who bow to your every word Arcturus" said Dorea icily referring to her older brother Pollux Black along with his eldest child Walburga and youngest child Cygnus.

Her Brother was eleven years older than her making the distance in their ages as wide as the distance in their relationship while his harsh treatment of his middle child and Dorea's Nephew Alphard who disputed some of the Family's beliefs only served to make Dorea dislike her Brother even more.

Arcturus finally looked up at her.

"No, you always had more spine than your greedy brother and some of his offspring… I suppose I should count myself lucky that Melania gave me a worthy Son in Orion, even if he will not hear anything said against that spiteful harpy he married" said Arcturus bitterly.

The bitterness in his voice was a result of him referring to his Son's marriage to his Second Cousin Walburga Black which he greatly disapproved of while also making reference to his late Wife Melania Black nee Macmillan who died as a very ill woman in 1945 turning Arcturus into a very bitter man.

He opened one of the drawers on his desk and retrieved a bottle of Ogden's Old Firewhiskey and two brandy glasses.

"So… why have you come to see me today?" said Arcturus pouring two glasses of Firewhiskey and handing one to her.

Dorea took the glass from Arcturus and composed herself.

"My Great Niece, Narcissa" said Dorea sternly.

Arcturus straightened up.

"Yes I heard, dear Cygnus was whining to your Brother about Narcissa disobeying his orders to marry Lucius Malfoy and running away… lucky for him she did not follow her older Sisters example in disrespecting our house by marrying a Mudblood" said Arcturus calmly as though he was discussing the weather with his Cousin.

"Cissy told me he struck her before she ran away, and no doubt he will have attempted to banish her from the Family by now, are you going to do something about him, or are you willing to allow him to run our family into the ground?" said Dorea spitefully testing her Cousin.

Arcturus took a large swig of his Firewhiskey before calling for one of his House Elves.

An ageing House Elf appeared next to him with a CRACK!

"Master summoned me" said the ageing male House Elf meekly.

"Go to Black Manor and tell Cygnus to come here immediately" said Arcturus harshly.

"Yes Master" said the House Elf meekly before disapparating.

Black and Potter sat in silence before the floo in Arcturus's study burst into life and Cygnus Black walked through a few minutes later.

Cygnus laid eyes on his Aunt Dorea and immediately looked angry at her presence.

Dorea was not surprised by her Nephew's reaction as he had always hated her for marrying who he perceived as a blood traitor in Charlus Potter. Dorea herself had little love for her Nephew owing to his greedy nature and power-hungry ideas for his children who he saw as pawns for his use.

"What is that blood traitor doing here?" snarled Cygnus.

Arcturus locked eyes with him with a deadly stare that could instil fear in most people.

"Refer to your Aunt as such again, and you will wish you hadn't" said Arcturus in a deathly voice.

Cygnus ignored his words trying his hardest not to be intimidated by Arcturus.

"Come here Cygnus" said Arcturus.

Cygnus made his way over to Arcturus who stood up to meet him.

"What do you want?" said Cygnus spitefully.

"I thought I made myself clear about your attempts to seek marriage's for your Daughters with lesser families, people like Lucius Malfoy and Rodolphus Lestrange" said Arcturus voice dripping with distaste and anger.

"The Lestranges and Malfoys are suitable matches for Daughters of House Black" said Cygnus defiantly.

"They are lesser families who seek to better their own social standing and wealth by leeching off of our good name, especially the Malfoys asking for a dowry of three million galleons, did you really think I would allow you to hand over that sort of gold to one of your old school friends… perhaps you should count yourself lucky that Rodolphus Lestrange did us all a favour by dying… but if you think I will allow you to make that same mistake twice then you are mistaken" said Arcturus harshly as though he knew more about Rodolphus Lestrange's death than he was letting on.

Cygnus straightened up.

"They are my Daughters, not yours, as such, they will marry whom I choose" said Cygnus stiffly.

"And I am Lord Black, you would do well to listen to me when it comes to making marriage alliances with other families before you do something incredibly foolish" said Arcturus sternly.

Cygnus turned to Dorea with a bitter look on his face while she sent him an even more angry look showing that she would not be intimidated by him.

"Given her presence in this room, I can guess where Narcissa is" said Cygnus bitterly.

Dorea got to her feet keeping her deadly stare on her Nephew.

"Had Narcissa been my Daughter, I would have cut your hands off if you so much as laid a finger on her" said Dorea angrily.

"She is my Daughter, how I raise her and what I do with her has nothing to do with you filthy Blood Traitor" snarled Cygnus.

He shouted out in pain and fell to the floor as Arcturus backhanded him with great force that it had Cygnus groaning in pain on the floor.

"And I warned you not to call your Aunt a Blood Traitor again, unlike you and your Sister she possesses enough sense not to be manipulated by self-serving fools like Abraxus Malfoy and Titus Lestrange" said Arcturus angrily.

Looking down at his Cousin in disgust he spat.

"Get up you weak fool, you should count yourself lucky you are not my Son, or else your punishment would have been much worse"

Cygnus slowly got to his feet.

"Narcissa will be returned to Black Manor… and I will arrange a marriage for her with someone of your choosing Lord Black" said Cygnus angrily.

"I would not even think about sending her back to you" spat Dorea.

"Get out Cygnus" said Arcturus sternly.

Cygnus turned to him for a moment looking like he wanted to say something.

"Get out" said Arcturus with anger radiating off of him in waves.

Cygnus finally took the hint and chose to disapparate from the room.

Once he was gone Arcturus picked up his Firewhiskey and finished it before pouring another glass.

"Narcissa will come to live here with me… where I will find her a suitable Husband from a proper Pureblood family" said Arcturus.

"She will stay with me" said Dorea sternly.

Arcturus took a sip of his Firewhiskey and locked eyes with her.

"Ever the defiant one aren't you Cousin?" said Arcturus with a hint of amusement.

Dorea finished her Firewhiskey and placed the glass back on the desk.

"Very well… she can remain at Potter Cove with you and Charlus, but if she wishes to marry then her potential husband must have my approval first… and that is final" said Arcturus sternly.

"Very well" said Dorea stiffly knowing that her no-nonsense calculating Cousin would not be moved from his decision.

"Narcissa can rest assured… neither her Parents nor her Grandfather will have any say or control on who she marries" said Arcturus flatly before returning to his work.

"Good" said Dorea.

"See yourself out" said Arcturus.

She left him to continue with his work while she left his study heading back to his floo to return to Potter Grove.

Ten minutes later…

Narcissa found herself in the large sitting room at Potter Cove. Though it was not as large as Potter Manor, Potter Cove was still splendid and luxurious as well as large.

The focus of Narcissa's attention was a large moving picture hanging above the fireplace. The photograph was of a young dark brown-haired boy of 7 years of age dressed in fine Acromantula Silk robes with steel rim glasses with his arms by his side and a polite look on his face as he posed for the picture.

Having visited Potter Cove numerous times over the last ten years Narcissa had heard the story of her Cousin Henry Potter who was the only child of Charlus and Dorea Potter who was born in September 1939. Unfortunately for her Great Aunt and Uncle, their only child had died of a very deadly case of spattergroit in 1946 at the very young age of 7 nine months after the picture was taken.

The grief suffered by Charlus and Dorea was so great that they swore never to have another child not wishing to suffer the heartbreak of losing a child again.

So engrossed in looking at the picture she did not hear footsteps approaching her from behind.

"Narcissa" said a stern voice.

Narcissa turned around to see her 54-year-old Great Uncle and famous retired Hit-Wizard Charlus Potter looking at her.

Like all male Potters, Charlus had dark brown hair like his Cousin's Fleamont and James though unlike James his hair was neat and tidy and he had forgone his need for glasses opting for magical contact lenses instead.

Everywhere around Magical Europe the name "Charlus Potter" was either admired or feared depending on who you asked as he achieved his fame for hunting down several of Gellert Grindelwald's followers after the dark wizard was defeated by Albus Dumbledore.

"Your Aunt wants you to join her in her private sitting room" said Charlus flatly avoiding looking up at the picture of his only Son whose young death still pained him to this day.

Dorea would say that her Husband had changed drastically after the death of their Son turning into a stern and slightly cold man with little trust or care for anyone outside of his immediate family.

Narcissa thanked him before walking past him in the direction of her Aunt's private sitting room.

Charlus finally looked up at the picture of his Son for a moment before turning and walking away from the fireplace towards his study to further expand on his American business deals.

A few minutes later…

Dorea poured two glasses of her favourite red wine sourced from one of the Potter vineyards in Italy.

She handed one to Narcissa before sitting down on her leather settee crossing her legs and sipping her own wine.

"Lord Black has agreed to allow you to live here with me" said Dorea.

Narcissa sipped her wine with a small grateful smile on her face.

"Thank you" said Narcissa.

"You are also free to marry a man of your own choosing… but only with his approval first" said Dorea.

Narcissa's smile faltered slightly knowing exactly what sort of people Arcturus Black would deem appropriate for her hand in marriage.

"He has also assured me that your Parents and Grandfather will have no influence on who you marry" said Dorea.

Narcissa felt relieved after hearing those words.

"Did you really think that he or I would let your Father use you and your Sisters just to satisfy his friends?" said Dorea.

Narcissa shook her head finally choosing to ask a question that had been burning in her mind ever since she left Black Manor.

"Do you know where Andromeda is?" said Narcissa.

Dorea met her Great Nieces eyes and frowned.

"No… she and her husband moved to Europe shortly before their daughter was born, something to do with this self-titled Dark Lord and his campaign against Muggles and Muggleborns, she and Ted didn't want their new family to be in danger" said Dorea sadly understanding her need to see her estranged sister once again.

Narcissa frowned.

"You wanted to talk to her?" said Dorea.

"I wanted to apologise to her, for being such a horrible Sister" said Narcissa sadly.

Dorea frowned.

"Your Sister will come round with time Cissy" said Dorea trying to sound reassuring for Narcissa.

Narcissa leaned back on the settee taking another sip of her wine in silence.

5th July 1974

"What will you do now then?" called out a voice from the doorway to the large sitting room at Potter Cove.

Narcissa who had been laid on one of the settees with her back against the armrest enjoying some peaceful reading time looked up at the doorway to see Sirius stood watching her with a questioning gaze.

Narcissa sighed and closed her book.

"Stay here for now, at least until I finish Seventh Year… then get a place of my own" said Narcissa.

"And after that?" said Sirius with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

Narcissa composed herself.

"I've always wanted to be an Auror, at least now I will have the chance" said Narcissa before she reopened her book and resumed her reading.

"Dangerous line of work that" said Sirius.

"What's life without a little risk… isn't that what you always used to say when we were kids?" said Narcissa with a hint of a smile.

Sirius took a few steps towards her.

"I'm glad you came here" said Sirius in a softer voice.

Narcissa looked up at him as came to a halt beside her.

"Are you?" said Narcissa testily.

Sirius sighed.

"Of course I am… we are Cousins, I do have some love for you, stop acting so high and mighty for once" said Sirius sarcastically.

Narcissa smirked before closing her book and smacking him on the side of his chest.

"Stop being such an annoying little Cousin by disturbing my reading" said Narcissa teasingly.

Sirius chuckled.

"Come on… up" said Sirius.

Narcissa rolled her eyes and dropped her book on the settee before standing up.

Once on her feet, she was surprised when Sirius pulled her into a hug.

After a few seconds, she brought her hands up to his back returning his hug as he leaned towards her ear.

"You know I love you Cissy, and I'll always have your back" said Sirius softly.

Narcissa smiled and gently rested her head on his shoulder feeling like he was acting like her older Brother rather than her younger Cousin at that moment.

Not saying anything she just stood there enjoying the feeling of protectiveness he was giving to her as the childhood bond they had once shared finally started to mend itself.

14th July 1974

The last place Narcissa wanted to be right now was her eldest Sister Bellatrix's second wedding to Lucius Malfoy which had been hastily arranged between Cygnus Black and Abraxas Malfoy in the large ballroom of Black Manor.

Stood up at the alter with a bitter look on her face was Bellatrix Black (formerly Lestrange). She was 22 years old with long curly black hair that reached down to her armpits and milky white skin. She was dressed in a fine white wedding gown and thin veil befitting her wealth and status as a Daughter of House Black.

Narcissa remembered the first time she had seen her Sister after Rodolphus Lestrange's death remembering the psychological changes she had seen in Bellatrix.

While Bellatrix was never particularly nice to begin with she was fierce when it came to protecting both of her younger sisters when they were younger. However that Bellatrix was nothing but a distant memory with her new self having a newfound passion for torturing and murdering those she thought were beneath her especially non-purebloods and muggles.

Her soon to be Husband Lucius Malfoy was stood opposite her at 21 years of age with long sleek blonde hair ending at his shoulders wearing fine Acromantula Silk dress robes of the highest quality.

Like Bellatrix, he also had a look of disdain on his face no doubt due to having to marry a widow who was rumoured to have murdered her last husband instead of marrying a Black Daughter of his choosing.

The Bride and Groom were not the only ones who looked angry about this match as Arcturus Black was stood at the back of the room near the doors with a bitter look on his face.

Of course Cygnus Black had hastily arranged the match for his widowed eldest Daughter and Lucius Malfoy without Arcturus's consent just to please his friend Abraxas Malfoy confirming to Arcturus just how weak-willed his Cousin actually was.

"Lord Malfoy's offer was very generous… how many other respectable wizards would accept a widow for their Son and Heir, especially one rumoured to have murdered her late husband" said Cygnus who was stood opposite Arcturus in the halls of Black Manor.

"If you were not so weak you would have come to me about this instead of doing this behind my back without my consent" spat Arcturus.

Narcissa had only attended this wedding because she was forced to attend by her Great Aunt Dorea and Great Uncle Charlus who wanted her to attend this wedding with them and show her Father that she was not afraid of him.

Sirius had also been asked to attend by Dorea but he had flat out refused to have anything to do with his family and attend this wedding no matter how much Dorea had insisted.

Sat next to Charlus and Dorea the three watched the wedding in silence only giving a small amount of applause as Bellatrix Black officially became Bellatrix Malfoy which had mixed reactions throughout her family.

As Narcissa expected, her 65-year-old Grandfather Pollux Black and 69-year-old Grandmother Imra Black nee Crabbe were sat next to Cygnus looking proud at their eldest Granddaughter's marriage.

Out of the corner of her eye, Narcissa saw Arcturus turn around and walk out of the ballroom.

Twenty minutes later…

"So… you came then?" said a familiar female voice from Narcissa's right.

Narcissa who was stood in the ballroom holding onto a glass of wine as the wedding reception took place turned to her right to see a 41-year-old woman looking at her with a stern look on her face.

Despite her age of 41 the Woman looked like she was a few years older than Narcissa with long shiny blonde hair reaching down past her shoulders while her tall slender figure only added to her beauty.

This was her Mother Druella Black nee Rosier.

"I was invited Mother, and I thought it best to attend" said Narcissa tartly.

Though she loved her Mother deeply, her Mother's insistence on Narcissa following her Father's every order had left Narcissa wanting to avoid her Mother right now.

"This could have all been yours, had you understood your Father's reasons for arranging such a match for you" said Druella curtly.

Narcissa scowled.

"I wanted this match just as much as Bella and Andi wanted it… and I was not going to be used as a pawn in Father's games" said Narcissa bitterly.

"Your Father sought good matches for you" said Druella.

"Matches with your fellow Slytherin Housemates" said Narcissa icily.

"Matches with young men from the most respectable of families, men that would give you the lifestyle that you deserved" said Druella with a hint of harshness in her voice that drew some attention from the surrounding Guests.

"Even if it made me miserable… why do you think I never wanted it in the first place?" said Narcissa fiercely.

Druella straightened up.

"We don't always get what we want in life Narcissa… if you knew what was best you would go and give your congratulations to your Sister" said Druella quietly.

With that Druella walked away from her youngest daughter.

After several seconds Narcissa took a big swig of her wine before making her way over to Bellatrix who was sat alone in her chair at the high table while Lucius was conversing with other guests in the ballroom.

As Narcissa approached her Bellatrix looked up at her Sister with a frosty demeanour.

"My congratulations on your marriage Bella" said Narcissa warily feeling unsure of how her Sister would react.

"This is all your fault, you and our Mudblood loving Sister, I blame both of you for this" said Bellatrix frostily.

Narcissa frowned.

"Yeah that's right, I wish you could see the look of guilt on your face right now… knowing that what I just said is true" spat Bellatrix.

"It was Father's fault, not mine or Andi's" said Narcissa.

"Yes Father had a hand in this, because of him I am being forced to let that creep Malfoy touch me… but you are not without blame, it should have been you or the Blood Traitor sat up here with Malfoy instead of me" said Bellatrix voice dripping with venom and spite.

Narcissa held back a few tears at how her Sister was behaving towards her.

The usually confident and assured Prefect felt unsure of what to say before she turned around and walked away.

16th July 1974

Narcissa looked down at the open trunk beside her bed which only contained what little remained of her jewellery and other personal items she had forgotten to bring with her from Black Manor with a saddened look on her face.

It had been over two hours since she had finished some business at Gringotts where she received some new keys for her trust vault and her personal vault when one of her Parent's House Elves appeared before her as she exited the bank.

After handing an envelope and the trunk to her the House Elf disapparated without a word.

As she had already finished business in Diagon Alley Narcissa flooed back to Potter Cove from the Leaky Cauldron before finally opening the letter and the trunk.

Though the letter written by her father was short and brief, the message it contained hit Narcissa like a stampeding herd of hippogriffs.

Her Father while acknowledging with great anger and regret that he could not banish her from the Black Family without proper cause, had effectively banished her from Black Manor and would not permit her to return under any circumstances.

When she opened the trunk and found that it only contained a few photographs and a small amount of her jewellery Narcissa felt crushed.

No matter what happened, her family wanted nothing to do with her any more.

Though two hours had passed since she read the letter and opened the trunk Narcissa had barely moved nor made any attempt to wipe the now tear-stained makeup from her face.

Suddenly she heard her already ajar door open slightly and sharply turned her head towards it expecting to see Dorea or Charlus asking her to come down for dinner but it was neither of them.

Instead, it was James Potter who was stood in her doorway looking straight at her.

"Of all the nights he could have paid a visit why did it have to be tonight?" thought Narcissa bitterly.

As he did at least once each week during the summer James had come to visit Potter Grove and spend the night with Charlus and Dorea. Had Sirius not been visiting his Uncle Alphard for the night who wanted to speak with him about something important her wild and carefree Cousin would have probably come with James.

"What do you want Potter?" sneered Narcissa being in no mood to speak to him.

James ignored her sneer.

"It's time for dinner… Uncle Charlus asked me to come and get you" said James flatly.

Though Charlus and Dorea Potter were in fact distant Cousins to James and his Parent's he had always addressed them as his Aunt and Uncle from a young age.

Narcissa wiped her eyes removing some of her stained eyeliner.

"Tell them I will be down shortly" said Narcissa flatly turning away from him and standing up from her bed.

James took a step forwards into the room.

"What's wrong Narcissa?" said James.

Narcissa sharply turned to face him.

"I'm fine… just go downstairs and tell them I will be down in a few minutes" spat Narcissa harshly.

James took a step back in shock.

"Woah, don't blame a guy for trying to help Black" said James in shock and insult.

Narcissa sighed as James turned around and started to walk out of her bedroom.

"Wait!" Narcissa called out.

Thankfully James turned his head to look at her.

"I'm sorry alright… it's just, I've had a rough day" said Narcissa with a hint of regret in her voice.

James took a step towards her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" said James with a sincerity that Narcissa had not heard from him before.

Narcissa sighed.

"No… I mean… yes… but not here, I'll talk about it later… okay?" said Narcissa.

James gave her a small nod.

"Okay" said James warily.

With that, he turned and left her on her own to go down to dinner.

Narcissa glanced at him as he left her room as a small smile crept onto her face.

Later that night…

James sat down next to Narcissa on her bed where she was sat with her elbows on her knees holding her letter in both hands with a flat look on her face.

"What did they do to you?" said James.

Narcissa sighed before holding the letter out towards him.

James slowly took it from her and read through it.

After he finished reading it he screwed it up and threw it across the room.

"Sirius was right… your family is fucked up" said James bitterly.

Narcissa let out a harsh laugh.

"That's one way of putting it Potter" said Narcissa sarcastically.

"At least you don't have to marry that blonde ponce Lucius Malfoy, so you could say that something good came out of this whole fucked up situation" said James trying to cheer her up if only slightly.

Narcissa rolled her eyes.

"Well it was either him or some other that prat my Parents thought would be good enough" said Narcissa curtly.

"Good thing you got out then… even if I was born a girl I wouldn't touch Lucius Malfoy" said James jokingly.

Narcissa turned to him with a soft smile on her face.

Without wishing to boast. Narcissa knew that she was a smart and incredibly beautiful witch. Just as she knew why a lot of girls at Hogwarts took a fancy to James Potter. He was smart and incredibly talented especially when it came to Quidditch. Even just from glancing at him for a moment, Narcissa found him to be rather good looking and the fact that he had a wicked sense of humour to boot only made him more appealing.

"Tell me Potter… is the lovely Miss Evans still refusing to give in to your charm?" said Narcissa in a slightly teasing voice.

James went a little red in the cheeks.

"She won't have anything to do with me, said she'd rather date the giant squid than me" said James.

Narcissa chuckled at his misfortune.

"Yeah well, hexing her friends would definitely get her attention, not in a good way though" said Narcissa referring to the well-known incident that took place by the lake after the Fifth Year Charms Owl exam last May.

After spotting Severus Snape walking by the lake, James and Sirius who were feeling bored and having been egged on by Peter Pettigrew followed by a very reluctant Remus Lupin decided to partake in a little bit of "Snape hexing" humiliating their fellow Fifth Year in front of a large crowd before James's fellow Gryffindor and crush Lily Evans put a stop to it defending her childhood friend Severus Snape over her four fellow Gryffindors.

The red-haired Muggleborn witch had given James a thorough verbal bashing before helping a humiliated Snape back up to the castle.

James scowled at the mention of his nemesis being friendly with the girl he liked. The fact that it was obvious to everyone that Snape fancied Lily did little to help James.

"Snape isn't any good for her… he'll just disappoint her in the end" said James bitterly.

"Sounds like someone's jealous" said Narcissa teasingly.

James turned away from her.

"Why don't I give you some honest advice James?" said Narcissa softly.

The tone in her voice and the use of his first name made him turn his head to her.

When looking at him even Narcissa failed to understand why Lily Evans kept turning James down.

"That girl must be blind or stupid not to see that James is a good guy… oh well, her loss" thought Narcissa.

Admitting it to herself the more time Narcissa spent in the company of James the more she enjoyed his company and felt something growing inside of her.

She looked James right in the eye.

"Forget about Lily Evans, she's rejected you more times than you can count, I doubt she'd ever say yes to you" said Narcissa.

"She might one day" said James with a hint of hopefulness in her voice.

Narcissa shook her head.

"Trust me, when a girl turns you down that many times… it's never going to happen James, perhaps it's time you looked elsewhere" said Narcissa leaning a bit closer to him.

James remained still.

"What are you doing?" said James warily.

Narcissa tilted her head up to him before she took hold of his shirt and kissed him catching him completely off guard.

"You should have taken your chance Lily Evans" thought Narcissa wickedly as she pulled James closer to her.

After a few more seconds Narcissa pulled away from him and licked her lips teasingly.

"What did you do that for?" said James shifting away from her slightly though he found himself unable to tear his gaze away from her face.

Narcissa smirked at him and traced her hand up his arm.

"Something for you to think about Potter" said Narcissa in a light flirting tone of voice.

She stood up from her bed and moved over to her wardrobe to get ready for bed.

"It's time for you to leave now Potter… unless you want to watch me undress" said Narcissa glancing over her shoulder and winking at him.

Not even saying goodnight James got up and made his way out of her room rather quickly.

As he closed her door Narcissa smirked knowing she was now lingering in his thoughts whether he wanted her there or not.

"Your loss is my gain Lily Evans" thought Narcissa.
