Chapter 43: Reality Rupture

Hibiki was shaking now, she had no idea why but this man in front of her, his mere presence was terrifying. 'What is this thing? It's not human, he shouldn't even be here, how is he here?'

"My my, you're quite frightened aren't you," said Muzan as he took a step forward with his chains clanking behind him, "For one who has stained your hand with blood, are you afraid of spilling your own?"

Hibiki wanted to run but couldn't for some reason her legs weren't listening to her, this had never happened before to her, she had faced several opponents that were stronger than her but this thing who only appeared as a man has frozen her in terror. 'He's going to kill me.' she blinked only to find someone standing in front of her, "Izuku!?"

"How are you here?" asked Izuku with his voice calm and fire in his eyes, "Answer me, Muzan!"

Muzan's face twisted in anger as he looked at the boy, "Those eyes, those earring," as he noticed the accrusade accessory. "You're connected to Tanjiro aren't you." Izuku didn't answer as he kept his glare at Muzan, the look alone infuriated Muzan but the demon calmed himself with a slight chuckle. "I guess that doesn't matter at the moment," as he raised an arm showing the chains, "I am still unable to affect any of you in any real way just yet, but these wonderful squirrels have given me hope that I shall one day return to the physical world."

"The squirrels?"

"Yes, the squirrels," said Muzan with a smile on his face. "Many have seeked the origin of my power but none of them have succeeded no matter what type of quirk combination they have tried to use, only the ones who have learned of me, who know who I am have gotten the closest, but they never made it, something always kept them away, maybe it was their weak feeble human brains that couldn't handle the truth, but the squirrels, so simple, so easy to bend, all I needed was you boy."

Izuku was silent as he thought, "When I relived my nightmares, all my painful memories, including the one where I read Master Yushiro's book about all of your victims." Izuku remembered that nightmare, it was vivid and even though he had never seen a picture of Muzan by that time, he could clearly picture him in his head. "That's how you're here."

"Yes, quite a few stars had to align for me to materialize in this mental space." Muzan then smiled, "Though that is just proof I still exist, even in the smallest part of me that courses through almost every living thing on the planet, I live. Soon…yes, very soon someone will release me and I shall rule this world like I was destined to."

Now Izuku was started to get scared at the thought of Muzan coming back to the real world, 'This isn't good, according to Yushiro he could control each and every single cell of his and if what he's saying is true then theres no way to truly get rid of him, not unless we get rid of quirks and everything else he's touched-' a moment of clarity hit Izuku as he realized there was someone that could end Muzan once and for all, 'Maybe just maybe…'

"What the fuck are you doing?" asked Hibiki, getting their attention, "You know this guy, did you bring him here?" as Hibiki tried to find a rational logical reason for all of this, "What a minute I know you, from Vegas, right the guy that moonwalks and goes Hee hee." she partly joked to try and calm down.

Izuku had no idea how to respond to that comment especially since he had no idea who she was talking about. "Wha…?"

Muzan tilted his head as he thought about the comment for a second, "I don't know who you are referring too, but I am the head of the twelve demon moons, so I suppose one of my abilities could be called the moonwalk but I do not go Hee hee." Muzan raised a hand, "This…is what I do."

Suddenly Muzan appeared in front of Hibiki "WHA!" gasped Hibiki before placing a hand on her head.

Izuku had to turn around as he realized that Muzan had somehow swapped places with him and was now in front of Hibiki, "HIBIKI! RUN, HIBIKI!"

She couldn't hear him as she was completely frozen with fear as her mind was now unmoving as if someone just hit the pause button on her brain. She couldn't even squeak out a scream.

"This is what I do." said Muzan as he clenched his hand on Hibiki's head.

Hibiki blinked before she found herself in a dark alleyway in an old Edo period town. "Where am I?"

"Found you," came a cackling voice, Hibiki turned to see a dirty man with pale blue skin coming out of the shadows, "You'll be a fine appetiser for tonight." as he lunged at her with blinding speed, mouth wide open filled with teeth.

Part of Hibiki told her to fight back but she couldn't, the man sunk his teeth into her arm, causing her to scream in pain, "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH," as she tried to pull away but the man's strength was too much. The pain was immeasurable, a pain that she never felt before, in a desperate attempt to get away she pulled as hard as she could causing her arm to be ripped off just past the elbow. Hibiki ignored the pain and turned to run away.

"Oh don't run away my little tart," said the man with a laugh, "You won't get far."

As if on que her body became stiff as it became harder move, 'Poison,' she thought as she had to stop and slump over a small well, as she did the light of the moon aloud her to see her reflection, "This isn't my face," before she could say anything else, in the water she saw the man behind her open his jaw and sink his teeth in her head.

"AAHAHGHRBHGH" she couldn't scream as she was somehow under water, she started to struggle as she did Hibiki saw she was now wearing a pink Kimono and her hair was jet black, 'This isn't my body either.'

"Relax, little one," said a voice as three figures swam around her, "It will all be over shortly," as one of them took a ribbon accessory from her head, "You won't be needing this anymore, it will make a fine to our collection."

She couldn't do anything as her vision went black and her body was eaten bit by bit. 'This...is hell.'

"AAAAAAHHHH" as Hibiki jolted up as pain shot through her feet as the floor around her froze and her feet were now stuck to the ground.

"Oh come now, sweetie," Hibiki turned to see a man wearing priest-like robes, walking towards her, "Where is your faith?" Hibiki felt her blood freeze from the inside out and before her organs froze she heard a scream, "Huh, Kotoha!?" said the man as he was distracted.

Hibiki then felt a sudden urged and yelled, "SOMEONE HELP!"

"HIBIKI!" yelled Izuku as he tried to dash at Muzan who was still holding on to Hibiki's head, 'What's he doing to her? He just put his hand on her and she started screaming.' Izuku then stopped as he realized even though he was running he wasn't getting any closer.

"It's pointless," said Muzan as he didn't even turn to Izuku, "I control this mental space, remember, you can't come any closer unless I say so."

"What, but this space is made by THE SQUIRRELS!" as Izuku made the realization, "Hear me, squirrels, I don't know your name but Hibiki needs help."

Muzan turned his head to Izuku, "You can't be seriously asking those rodents too-" suddenly the area shook as he became transparent, "WHAT!?"

Izuku took that moment to dash forward and punch Muzan in the face as hard as he could, causing the demon to skid backwards a few feet, before catching Hibiki before she fell, "Hibiki are you alright?"

Hibiki didn't immediately respond as she was shaking so hard as if she was having a seizure, she looked at Izuku with tears pouring out of her bloodshot eyes. "i...Izuku..."

"Very impressive boy," said Muzan as he rubbed his cheek but otherwise looked unharmed, "Let's see if you're smarter than the others," as he extended his hand out to Izuku, "Join me and become one of my moons."

Izuku glared at the demon, "Never."

"Then, I will use this quirk to the fullest," as he raised his arms and the world around them started to spin as dark smoke circled them, "And kill you in an endless nightmare."

Hibiki started to shake more at the thought of returning to that hell of endless death, Izuku looked around as he tried to think of a way out, when a hardy laugh pierced the void, "Have no fear, for I am here, making a flashy entrance." Several shurikens then cut through the smoke hitting Muzan covering him in smoke.

Suddenly Tengen landed between them and posed, "Tengen!" said Izuku in shock to see the man, "How?"

Tengen turned and gave the two a smile, "Have no fear Izuku, we won't let him go so easily." As he then spun his chained blades around him, before pointing them at Muzan.

"We?" asked Izuku as the darkness around them began to clear slightly revealing hundreds of shadowy figures glaring hate and anger at Muzan.

"Your victims are calling you back to hell, Muzan." explained Tengen, "You shouldn't keep them waiting."

Muzan just gave a slight laugh, "You…you're the one that helped kill Daki and Gyutaro, what was your name again?"

"I am the last Sound Hirashima, Tengen Uzui, though right now, for hurting my grandchild, I am your personal guide back to hell."

"Grandchild," as he looked at Hibiki who was still shaking in Izuku's arms, "I see, no wonder I don't like her, she stinks with the same filth lik-"

"HEY!" yelled Tengen as veins popped on his face, "If you even think of insulting my wives, I'll kill you all over again."

"Whatever, you can't stop my return, no one can." as he raised his arms out grabbing the air, cracking it.

The space around all of them began to shake, as an ear piercing squeak rang out, "Blair…Bryan…" said Hibiki quietly.

"Blair, Brain?" repeated Izuku confused, "Wait you mean the squirrels."

"They're dying," said Tengen as he glared at Muzan, "You son of a bitch, you're killing them."

Muzan raised a hand as a door appeared behind Izuku and Hibiki, "Go children and tell the world to prepare for my return."

Izuku hesitated as Muzan was the one suggesting it. "Go Izuku, get out of here." said Tengen as he gave them a smile, "And Hibiki, my grandchild," getting her attention he soften his expression, "Your life is for you to decide, you don't have to repeat the mistake of our forefathers, my brother. Forge your own path, I did and so can you." He then turned back to his opponent while the world around them started to break down, "Just whatever you do, do it with flair." before dashing at Muzan, ""Let's dance, Muzan."

"Okay, I'll play." Muzan's arms morphed slightly before he whipped them at Tengen's swords, deflecting them.

Part of Izuku wanted to watch but knew they had to get out, he quickly turned and ran for the door, while still holding Hibiki who was looking back at the two men fighting in a collapsing mental world, "Grandchild?" she whispered before Izuku ran through the door.

Izuku opened his eyes, finding himself on the floor of the empty concession stand, he blinked before his brain was flooded with memories of what happened in the mental world, but before he could process his own mental migraine whiplash, a scream from Hibiki got his attention first, "HIBIKI!"

The girl had screamed and then crawled back into the corner of the concession stand and curled up hugging her knees, with tears pouring out of her eyes as she started muttering to herself to quiet for Izuku to hear. Izuku was about to comfort her but was beaten to it as all of her animal friends began to surround her. Out of nowhere several mice, rabbits, rodents of all sizes, even a "Capybara?" that gave a comfort nuzzle to Hibiki's leg, telling her that they were here for her.

For a moment someone could have mistaken this for a magical moment, but the moment quickly ended as the door to the concession stand as several people rushed, "IZUKU!" yelled Melissa who was clearly happy to see he was okay, as she checked on him.

Aizawa, Present Mic, Jack and Yae all stand in front of Hibiki, "Hibiki Uzui, you got a lot to answer for." said Aizawa with his quirk active and his capture tool at the ready, but halted on using it as he noticed Hibiki's state, "Uzui?"

"Say the word Sensei," said Yae pointing her rifle at Hibiki, "And I'll drop the Disney princess."

"Wait Yae, this isn't right." said Jack as he powered down slightly as he noticed Hibiki, "She's not even responding to us," before turning slightly to Izuku, "What happened?"

Izuku was able to stand thanks to the support of Melissa, he looked at Hibiki and couldn't think of a way to explain what had happened. "It's kind of complicated."

The main shutters opened to the stand as Nezu hopped on to the counter with Yushiro, Tomo, Momo, Ochacko, Ojiro and Ten behind him. Nezu took a look at the situation, "In any case we need to secure her."

Ten used her quirk to blink in front of Hibiki and got a closer look at her fear filled eyes that were frozen in trauma and shock, her quirk then luckily blinked her back before several of Hibiki's animals tried to bite her. "Okay for starters, her…pets won't make this easy and second," she then turned to Izuku, "Demon Slayer, you didn't do this did you?"

Izuku shook his head, "No, this was…"

"Muzan…."

Yushiro felt his blood stop as the temperature around them suddenly dropped several degrees. "Hibiki….what did you just say?"

Hibiki slowly raised her head looking at Yushiro, "He killed me, over and over again, I was beheaded, smashed, eaten, sliced, devoured, melted, EATEN!" she started shouted as she clutched her head, "EATEN, EATEN, EATEN, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!" Hibiki then stopped as several of the animals surrounding her hugged her, she looked down and saw them all, even the hamsters standing on top of the capybara, each of them with tears of worry for her. She reached out and hugged her giant rodent, before looking up at Yushiro, "He put me in a cycle of death, Muzan."

"Muzan?" asked Present Mic. "Who's that?"

"No idea," said Aizawa as he could have sworn it was getting cold enough to see his breath.

"My tail is twitching." commented Ojiro.

"Is it getting colder?" asked Momo.

"Yu-" Nezu stopped when he saw Yushiro who was clearly shocked by what he had just heard as he looked even paler than usual with Tomo looking horrified and putting a hand on Yushiro's shoulder. Nezu had a lot of questions but right now he knew it had to wait. "Right now, Hibiki, you are to tell your animals to stand down and release everyone under their control."

Hibiki tilted her head as she remembered everything before the mental world. "Oh that," she looked up to a bat that was hanging on a light, he gave a few squeaks to Hibiki, "According to Wayne, he stopped echoing my orders when I woke up screaming."

Nezu pressed a button on his watched as he dialled Gran Torino, "Gran Torino can you hear."

"Nezu, what the hell just happened?" asked Gran Torino, "All the other teachers here are confused, what happened?"

"Principal Nezu, sir are you alright," asked Toshinori over the phone, "And did you hit me?"

"You two, tell the teachers to act normal and get over to our location now, sending coordinates," said Nezu.

"Roger." said Both Gran Torino and Toshinori.

Nezu hung up and dialled another number, "Midnight are you there?"

"Yes sir," said Midnight down below in the arena waving at the crowd trying to act natural, "Sir am I to assume something just happened, cause it feels like my head just cleared up."

"Yes, I'll fill you in later, is Hitoshi Shinso there?"

Midnight looked to the side and saw the boy at the mouth of the entrance, "Yes he's here."

"Give him a thumbs up, he can fill you and Cementoss in on the short version, aside from that stall for a moment until Aizawa and Mic can get back to the commentator booth."

Midnight gave Shinso a thumbs up causing him to sigh in relief. "Okay," as Midnight dropped the call, "Okay folks, one moment please, I just got a call and it sounds like Present Mic accendalty blew out his microphone again, so one more moment while they set the replacement up." said Midnight as she and Cementoss made their where Shinso, "Okay kid give the short version."

"I don't know everything but here's what happened." as Shinso filled them in.

Back at the concession stand, Nezu was now trying to figure out what to do with Hibiki, she clearly wasn't in any mental state to fight back or run away but her animals are a clear threat especially since there was a good chance that most of them had quirks. 'Even in her current state I doubt she'll just come quietly. When All Might and Gran Torino get here, we might be able to remove the animals by force.'

Hibiki was still holding her animal friends when she felt the air vibrate around her, "Scatter." she said under breath with her quirk, her animals instantly responded as they all moved away from Hibiki before the floor right below her fell with her along with it.

"SHE'S GETTING AWAY!" yelled Present Mic trying to use his quirk at Hibiki but the air was vibrating too weirdly for his quirk to get a direct hit.

Jack, Yae and Aizawa rushed forward, but the hole in the ground suddenly repaired itself, in the corner Nezu saw one of the mice from before that repaired the damage. "The mice!" as he pointed at the other rodents before they disappeared, "EraserHead, Present Mic, quick before they get away."

The two nodded and rushed out of the concession stands, "I'm going to," Yelled Yae. "Melissa, Ochako look after Izuku." as she ran after the two teachers.

"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on her." said Jack running after Yae.

"Tomo!" yelled Yushiro.

"Yes-ahh!" yelped Tomo as Yushiro quickly grabbed her to support her, they both looked down to see a snake slither into the ground as a shadow, just leaving a snake bite in Tomo's ankle.

"Tomo!" yelled Yushiro with his voice filled with concern as he sat her down to check her leg.

"Don't worry," said Izuku, "I don't think it's venomous, it-" Izuku paused as he looked around for a second.

"It what….Izuku, pausing when talking about a poison is not something you should ever do." yelled Yushiro.

"Uh sorry, but I was just going to say it causes paralysis. That would explain how she caught Katsuki." explained Izuku, "Where is Katsuki?"

Katsuki slowly opened his eyes as he felt the rocking of waves, he slowly raised his head and found himself in a small boat. "Where am I?"
