Please be kind, I am a complete beginner at this, I love reading other peoples but not sure I have enough talent to produce my own. I am just a bored housewife and mum trying to stop my brain turning to crap. Please review; I can't get any better if I don't know where I am going wrong.

First.

Claire sighed in frustration. She was supposed to be working on her homework not daydreaming about what he might think she would look pretty wearing. It had been a few weeks since the detention that had respectively turned her world on its head and yet somehow changed very little of the world around her. She had surprised everyone including herself by standing up for Allyson when the rest of the cheerleaders picked on her. Allyson and Andy got together during the detention and much to the cheerleader's disgust stayed together, seemingly growing closer as the weeks went on. The Breakfast Club hadn't been all together since that first Saturday but she felt they had each held firm to the spirit of the friendships forged that day. Claire helped Allyson with her new look and to build her confidence, Brian helped Claire with her physics and Andy helped her by trying to fill the large spaces in her social life left by being kicked of the cheerleading squad for "associating with undesirables". She hadn't seen more of John than a few fleeting smirks across the hallway but Brian had let slip about all the time they spent together in the workshop remaking the elephant lamp so that he could get the A that meant so much to him and more to his mother. That just made things ten times worse, it was so much easier to keep her attraction to john under control when he was being a prat. With alarming regularity here mind kept wandering back to the feel of his lips on hers and the urge to touch his hair. Shaking her head to clear it, she gave up completely on the homework and crossed to the wardrobe that she had been mentally looking through any way. Tonight the breakfast club were having their first official movie marathon. Well most of the BC anyway, apparently John hadn't told anyone he would defiantly be there. Deciding that the rest of the BC probably wouldn't notice what she wore anyway she closed the wardrobe doors and went downstairs. After all, the green button down shirtdress she had on wasn't new but it was pretty enough and most of all it was comfy to lounge about in. It was really relaxing to have people know the real you and not care if you weren't always up to the minute fashion wise. The BC was going to camp out all night in the TV room watching horror movies and pigging out. Her parents were away for the weekend and she had given the housekeeper the weekend off as well. She was just sticking a pile of blankets on one off the sofas for later as the doorbell went.

Claire came awake immediately, she looked about her, the others had fallen asleep as well. Andy and Allyson wrapped around each other on the overstuffed armchair with their blanket more on the floor than on them. Brian was slumped sideways in his chair, bowl of popcorn still resting on his knees. The TV was a blank screen of static. Hissing quietly and continuously so what had woken her? Clair had often slept on this couch all night to avoid her parent arguments something else must have disturbed her. There – a tapping sound. Some one was tapping on the French doors that lead out back to the patio. She saw him there sitting on the step, elbows on his knees and head hanging forward. It was on the tip of her tongue to make a biting comment about better late than never as she slid the door open but the noise of the door made him start. The hair that had been shielding his face shifted and she could see all too clearly why he had been late. His fathers handiwork no doubt.
