Victor acted somewhat nervous when he slipped into bed with his newly wedded wife, Victoria.

"Oh, are you ready to turn in for tonight?" She asked as she put her book down she had been reading for the past couple of days.

"I-I guess…" Victor muttered as he scratched the back of his head.

Victoria noticed how uncomfortable and nervous her husband seemed as he shifted side to side in the bed, looking like he had something in his mind. She closed her book and put it on the night stand next to her, focusing her attention back to Victor.

"Is there something wrong?"

"No, no, nothing really…" Victor swallowed nervously.

"You seem to have something on your mind."

"It's nothing really… well, then again maybe there is something…"

Victoria sighed as she already had the idea of what he was talking about.

"Does this have something to do with what you've been asking me these past couple of days?"

"Maybe…?" Victor grinned shyly. "I mean… I've been thinking the times right for…"

"Victor, no." She shook her head. "We've been married for a week now and I just don't feel ready to make such a big decision yet."

"Oh, please!" Victor begged as he edged closer to her side. "I promise I'll be careful! I know we can do this together!"

"Victor…"

Victoria sighed again. She hated having to say no to her husband especially when his mind seemed to be so made up over something. But for her the time just wasn't right. She wasn't sure if she could put up with such responsibility just yet.

"I'm sorry but I'm just not ready."

"Oh no, Victoria. Please don't say that." Victor was near tears of disappointment. "Please won't you reconsider? Please, please, please?"

"Is it that important for you to have to go through this so soon in our life?"

"You don't have to do anything if you don't want to." Victor offered. "I'll take care of everything. And I'll do it right too. Promise."

"Victor… I don't know…" Victoria shook her head as she gazed down on her bed sheets.
She knew that being married wasn't easy and that it would eventually come to this but she really didn't want to disappoint her husband so soon over such a matter like this. She glanced up to look at Victor who looked like he was about to cry. He glanced on the sheets, biting his bottom lip to stop it from trembling as tears seemed to be in a verge of breaking out. She hated to see her husband so upset and wanted the best for him.

He really must want this.

She sighed and smiled weakly as she leaned forward and planted a tender kiss on Victor's cheek. He looked up to face her with slight confusion.

"All right, dear. You win." She said gently. "We can have a puppy."

"Really!" Victor exclaimed with happiness. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! You won't regret it!"

He kissed his wife in sheer bliss and squirmed with excitement.

"I'll be extra careful he won't cause any trouble and take good care of him! Can we get him tomorrow! Oh, I already know what to name him! I'll call him Scrapes Jr. Oh, and…!"

Victoria chuckled lightly as she listened to Victor's ramble. He was just like a child in many ways but she still loved him. She blew out the candle next to her night stand while Victor continued talking excitingly.

"Good night, dear."
