"Hahah! Jean, you're gonna turn red at this point."
Jean and Lisa had ride on the Pokemon, for God knows how long. And Jean wasn't really used to this. She didn't know if it was because of how long the ride was, or the new environment. The salty air breeze, the rushes of water, and possibly homesick.
"Lisa, this is no joking matter!" She said, turning to her. The Lapras pulled off a small curve in its lips, before it went back to its regular smile.
Lisa patted Lapras' shell, laughing. "Oh Jean, you know I'm joking." She said.
"I know, but we need to focus." She instantly said back, hanging onto Lanturn.
Lisa turned silent. "Is this because of Barbara?"
Jean instantly turned to Lisa.
"BARBARA! WHERE ARE YOU?!"
Jean commanded the three. Time was rushing before them. Someone was attacking the city. And it wasn't just the Abyss Order or the Fatui. From reports from Aether, they were facing someone unknown.
She kicked down the doors to the cathedral, her sword in hand. Empty. It was all empty. Not a single soul was in sight at all. She began to wonder.
"Barbara?! Roseria?!" She shouted out, running ahead.
She stepped on something, heavy. She slowly looked down, and she nearly dropped down to her knees.
A Hydro Mondstadt Vision.
Tears started coming out of her eyes, as she thought of the worse.
No.
Nonononono.
NO!
"BARBARA!"
"I-" She stuttered.
"I prefer not to say..." She said, before turning back ahead. Lisa just left out a sigh, before looking back ahead.
"It's beautiful huh?" Lisa tried started a conversation.
"The ocean, yes it is." Jean said, shrugging her shoulders. Suddenly, Lanturn began to rock. She looked back at the Pokemon.
"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked it, gently touching it.
The antenna started to brighten, blinding Jean. "UGH!" She cried out, shielding her eyes from the light. Lisa also got hit as well.
"Jean, what's going on?! What's the creature doing?!" She yelled out. The Lapras was confused, looking at the two people.
SPLASH
The light slowly faded out, allowing Lisa to open her eyes. When she did, she was all alone.
"J-Jean?"
The light was still there, but now it wasn't as bright as it was. But something was wrong. She opened her eyes to be underwater. The Lanturn was still with her, letting Jean still be on its back.
She swam up, getting closer and closer to the light above. Her Lanturn bumped her, pushing her back.
Jean left out a cough, letting out small air bubbles into the waters.
Was she going to drown down here?
Her Lanturn grabbed hold of her arm, and dragged her. She tried pulling away, and summoning her sword. But she remembered something, her Vision.
She summoned an bubble for herself, Ameno, and fell down to her knees. She was hyperventilating, taking short breathes in. The Lanturn stopped, and tilted its head at her.
"W-What are you trying to do...?!" She shouted at it.
The Lanturn shrieked back, clearly shocked and scared.
"Were you trying to drown me?!" She asked it again, raising her voice even more.
The Lanturn began to cry, clearly confused. Jean stood up, pulling a hand to her chest. She looked around the underwater, and nearly awed at the sight of it.
Corals all around the area, Corsola surrounding around. Magikarp, Goldeen, and Remoraid swam away into the depths of the water. Some Wailmers were taking naps, lying on the shores. Feebas' trying to dig underneath the sand for scales.
She looked back at the Lanturn. "W-Were you trying to cheer me up by showing me this?" She asked it.
It nodded its head, but his eyes drifted to something down below.
Jean leaned back on the back of the bubble, stressed now. "Oh Barbatos..." She sighed to herself, putting a hand on her head.
Lanturn tugged at the bubble, urging to cheer Jean up. It lightly tackled the bubble, making it shake a bit.
She looked at the Lanturn. "Do you want me to see something?" She stood up again, asking a question.
"Lan!" It nodded its head, smiling at her.
"...Alright. But after this, will you bring me to Lisa?" She said.
Again, Lanturn nodded its head.
She just left out a sigh. "Okay, now do I-"
Lanturn broke the bubble and made her ride on its back. It took the Acting Grand Master by surprise, when water hit her again. She held her breath, trying to keep calm.
Finally, it stopped and Jean summoned another air bubble for herself. 'Reminder to self, never do this.' She thought to herself. She never thought of using her powers like this, but she'll probably will never again.
She got up from Lanturn's back, and looked. It was a family of Clamperl's. She slowly bent down to one of them.
"I won't hurt you, so don't be afraid." She said to it, holding her hands out.
The shell opened, revealing the Pokemon inside. It looked scratched and beat up.
"Who did this to you?!" She asked it.
Lanturn turned around, and immediately started to go to Jean. The antenna started to glow. It looked scared of what was approaching. It looked at Jean, she was still focusing on the Clamperls.
"Lanturn! LANTURN!" It cried out, lightly attacking her.
"What is it?" She turned around to it.
The Clamperls immediately shattered away from the duo, scared. Jean stood up, summoning her sword.
The light from Lanturn showed a Sharpedo, it lunged at Jean first. The bubble immediately popped, but Lanturn let out a shock of lightning at the wild Pokemon.
She lost grip of her Pokemon, shaken back by the sudden pop of her bubble. The Sharpedo turned to Lanturn, biting and grabbing hold of it. It sent out dozens of lighting, attempting to make the enemy let go of it.
Jean opened her eyes, and immediately grabbed her sword. She swam to the Pokemon's range, and slashed at it.
Lanturn was let go, and the Sharpedo looked at her. It, once again, lunged at her. It grabbed her leg, biting it.
"UGH! DAMN IT!" She screamed out. She let go of her sword, she couldn't use any of her powers right now. Her eyes widened, water was starting to get in her lungs. Lanturn looked over to her, and ran over to her. It grabbed her, and went up to the surface.
"Oh no...Ohnononono!" Lisa started to panic, shaking her head repeatedly. Lapras couldn't find Jean at all, even when underwater. She was worried now.
"LANTUUUURRRRNNNNNN!"
Lisa turned around, seeing a bright light. It looked like it was getting closer and closer. She remembered about the antenna. "Lapras! Turn around and head to the light!" She commanded the Pokemon. The Lapras did as it was told.
She summoned her catalyst, preparing for anything. And when Lapras got closer to the light, it was Jean and Lanturn.
Jean was bleeding from her leg, she was trying to use her clothes to stop the bleeding.
"JEAN!" Lisa shouted, making the leader look up.
"Lisa! Wait, LOOK BEHIND YOU!"
The Sharpedo jumped out of the water, mouth open wide. Lisa's catalyst sparked and glowed.
There was an sudden
"...Huh. Did the clouds suddenly get darker?"
Qiqi looked up to the sky. It looked like it was about to rain now. And then, the dark clouds faded away.
Lisa pulled Jean to a hug, sobbing. Jean was quiet.
"...I'm sorry." She apologized.
"Don't be. Did Lanturn pull you down to the water?" She asked instead.
"Yes."
"I almost got scared for a second...I almost thought you were dead."
She kept on sobbing onto Jean's shoulder. She couldn't feel anything else but regret. In fact, she hasn't ever seen her cry ever.
"I'm strong, Lisa. I'll...survive." Was all she said.
"I know, but this isn't our world. We're not used to it."
"I know."
Lisa wiped her eyes. She pulled away, and looked back at Jean's injury. She ripped off a part of her clothes, and gave the piece to Jean.
"Here. I need to help the Grand Master in whatever way...I can't cry right now when she's bleeding."
She grabbed the piece and looked at Lisa.
"Thank you."
