"It's getting dark."
He looked up at the sky, the sunset about to fade away. He should set a fire soon.
Dragonite looked over to its trainer.
"It's going to be alright. We can keep training tomorrow morning." He assured it.
"I suppose I should let the others out. They're probably waiting to get out of there, they always love this training area." He whispered to himself, taking out 5 Pokeballs. He threw them up in the air.
"COME OUT GYARADOS, AERODACTLY, DRAGONAIR, CHARIZARD, AND DRAGONITE!"
Lance tossed in a large piece of wood into the now made fire. Volbeat's and Illmise's began buzzing around, their tails glowing in the dark.
Both Charizard and Gyarados were on look out for any strong Pokemon. He encountered several wild Pokemon out here, it didn't matter if it was the morning or night.
The rest of his Pokemon were sleeping. He supposed he could get some rest too. It wouldn't hurt anyways.
He laid down, using his own cloak as a blanket. He closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep now.
He could see Volbeat's and Illmise's glow in the distance.
"Hey, Master's asleep."
"He is?"
Charizard nodded her head, looking back at the fire. She definitely saw Lance sleeping.
Gyarados also looked, when he did he was a bit shocked but he quickly looked happy. "Hm, he is! He should get a break ever so often. It's hard being a Champion huh?" He said. She nodded her head in agreement.
"We should keep being alert. This place can get dangerous at night." She said, looking back ahead.
"Right."
Charizard's wings stretched out, flying up to the skies. While up there, she couldn't see any Pokemon up or below. She huffed, before returning back down.
"Nothing for you either?" She asked.
"No."
"Excuse me."
Gyarados immediately sent out a crushing wave of water, towards the direction of that voice. A man with glowing amber eyes turned around, facing it. His eyes widened.
"Hm? Ah geez, it's not even morning yet..."
He touched his head, as he looked around. There he saw his Gyarados using Surf.
"GYARADOS!" He cried out.
He ran over to it, Charizard came down to his side. "What's happening?" He asked her. Her tail pointed at the wave. He was unsure what happened, but he immediately got onto Charizard's back.
"Go for the wave!" He commanded her. Her wings floated and she flew towards the wave. Lance hanged on tight, making sure not to get blown away.
The wave was more powerful than he thought, Charizard rocked every so often. He had to stay focused, despite the harsh circumstances. Then an hand reached out of the water, and it instantly went back down.
"Shit! Charizard, on my mark!" He shouted. She nodded her head, still keeping up with the speed.
If he was right, the person's hand would still up around here.
The same person's hand reached out.
"NOW!"
She swooped down, Lance reaching his hand out. He grabbed the hand, and pulled it up. The person, a man, was still breathing. He placed him next to him on Charizard's back.
"Thank you..." He coughed out, huffing and puffing.
"No problem. Now this wave..." Lance focused back. "Hmph, HYPER BEAM!" He shouted out. He looked back at the man, and held his arm tight.
"Hang on!" He advised him.
"Wh-What?"
Charizard let out a massive light beam out of her mouth. She started to circle around the wave, hitting it with her power. The man grabbed hold of her body, not letting go one bit.
"Ugh!" He cried out, clinging onto the Pokemon.
Lance looked back at him, shielding his eyes from the blasting light. The wave started to decrease in size.
"The wave is almost cleared!" He exclaimed.
"RUN, AETHER!"
Aether ran, Amber following behind him. Venti floated, and summoned his bow. The Goddess, whoever she was, stopped.
"Hm. You are Barbatos, correct?" She asked.
"...How do you know." He responded back.
"God of Freedom and the Ameno God. Pathetic."
"Who are you calling pathetic? I'm Venti, not Barbatos. But who are you and why are you here?"
'All of the people must've taken shelter already from this Goddess. If the Knights of Favonius can't stop her from destroying Mondstadt then...' He thought to himself.
She let out a hmph, before snapping her fingers. Portals appeared out of nowhere.
"I am the sustainer of heavenly principles. I have come for Aether and Lumine. But if mortals wish to get involved in this, I would gladly let them die before my hands." She finally spoke.
'She's not only after Aether, but his sister?! I have to distract her!' He charged up his bow.
The Goddess instantly noticed this, and in her finger tips was a red floating cube. He looked down to see something red forming, he flew out of the way as a red cube popped up in that same spot.
'Tha-That's her power?!' He said to himself, still afloat.
"I see."
Venti let out his charged arrow at her, turning to her as she spoke. Her powers blocked it, the portals began to get wacky.
"...You have made a grave mistake, Barbatos."
Venti let out several arrows at her, intending to slow her down. She teleported, disappearing from him.
"Eh?! Hey, get back here! We're not done! I won't let you hurt him!" He shouted out. His hair tips began to glow even more brighter, and his eyes did as well.
"Behind you."
He turned silent, turning around and sending off his burst. She got caught up in it, confused and surprised.
"You!-"
"You what? It's like I said, I'm not going to let you hurt him." He said, gaining distance away from her. "So checkmate!" He smirked at her, before charging up another arrow.
"Not yet."
Suddenly, Venti was attacked by cubes. They all swarmed him, making him drop his weapon. He fell back, losing his flight and dropped straight to the ground.
"My legs!" He shouted. They were wrapped up in the cubes, and finally the Goddess was freed from his burst. She floated over to him, staring down at him. It seemed like she knew he was done for.
'I-I can't use all of my power! Crap, I'm screwed!" He panicked.
The cubes began spreading on them, reaching his neck.
'I underestimated her...' He said to himself. 'Aether. Mondstadt. Everyone. I'm sorry...'
An portal opened up, a blue one not the ones the Goddess had. She instantly looked away from Venti and looked up at it.
"What." Was all she said.
Venti felt his body was floating, the cubes began to scatter away from him. But he realized something, he was getting suck into the portal.
"NO!" The Goddess shouted, lunging at Venti.
Kanto
"Master, I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt someone! I thought he were a wild Pokemon and I reacted without thinking! I'm so sorry, Lance!" Gyarados pleaded with his trainer. Charizard slapped him with his tail.
"You're lucky Lance woke up and managed to save him before he drowned. We should be grateful he's still alive, you know." She said, crossing her arms together.
The man was resting near Dragonair, while he looked over at Lance. He was busy looking over at the damage his Pokemon had done
"This entire area is clearly damaged. Luckily, no one really comes up here. So we got lucky. Are you okay?" Lance asked.
"Yes...I'm fine. I wasn't expecting that wave, it took me off guard. I apologize." The man said.
"You don't have to apologize, sir. Sometimes I'm not focused! It happens." The Dragonair said.
"Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault at all, sometimes things can get dangerous at night and I need to be prepared." He said, looking up at the moon.
"Ah. You and your Dragonair spoke true words."
"...My Dragonair?"
Lance looked at him.
"You heard me?"
The man looked at Dragonair, before nodding his head. "Of course I did." He said. She backed away from him, clearly confused.
"Oh. Is talking to Dragons not normal here? If so, I truly apologize." The man got to his feet.
"But you heard her and spoke to her. That isn't normal at all. Aerodactly, come here!" He yelled out. His Aerodactly flew over to him, landing next to him.
"Yes, Master?" He said.
The man took a step back.
"Hm? Who is this?" The Pokemon looked at its trainer.
"You heard him too, right?"
The man just nodded his head, in defeat.
"...What's your name?"
"It-It's Zhongli."
Unova
"La la la la!"
He skipped through the alleyways, laying out a tune while doing those. Another song, another drink. He stopped at the door, Cafe Sonata. It was only the colorful and eye popping thing at this alleyway. He opened the door and walked inside.
"What are you doing here, bard? It's night and your parents are probably worried sick about you." The waiter said, washing a cup.
"My parent's aren't worried about me, can I get the usual, aka wine?" He said, sitting down at one of the front chairs.
"...Aren't you a minor-"
"I'm not, I'm older than I look. Can I have the wine I have about 10,000 Pokedollars." He interrupted him.
The waiter left out a sigh, before handing a bottle of wine.
Venti slide 1,000 Pokedollars to him, and grabbed the wine. "Pleasure doing business with you, Rald!" He grinned.
"Yeah, I'm definitely letting you stay here tonight. Why do you even drink at the first place?"
"Hehehe! Sorry but you never get deep into someone's business! Now here's to some good wine!"
