The sun shined through the window, a new day. Greta looked to the Factory Head, frowning upon seeing him.
"Bennett's probably already awake now." She said.
"I know." Noland sighed.
"Are you going to apologize to him about what happened."
"...I will, don't worry about it."
Noland walked through hallway of the floor. At the end of the hall, there was a door with a handmade sign on it. It was cut up with a sword or knife and labeled 'Bennett's Hangout!'
He was already regretting coming here but he at least promised the boy something.
"Bennett?" He asked.
No answer.
He expected that so he knocked again. "Bennett, come out. Your first day of training awaits you, I know how eager you are about that." He said.
No answer again.
"If you're still upset about what happened last night, then I'm sorry. I don't want you to get hurt out there, so I think it's best if you choose to stay here for a bit longer. And maybe it won't be so bad, us Frontier Brains are powerful you know!" He tried cheering ip Bennett through the door. He formed a small smile on his face.
There was still no answer.
"I'm unlocking the door." He announced, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a key. He turned the lock and the door opened. Inside was quiet. Quieter than he thought. Than he saw the window was open, a bad sign. A very bad sign.
"Bennett! Are you okay-" He ran to the bed, lifting and tossing the blanket aside. Nothing. Bennett wasn't there.
"SHIT!"
"Hahaha! That was a challenging but fun battle! We should battle again sometime eh?" Bennett softly punched Brandon, before gulping down water.
"No thanks! It took you about...two hours to get through the first floor, I thought you were a goner!" The man laughed back, raffling Bennett's hair.
"Me? No way!" The boy got up, putting his arms on his hips. "I'M THE LEADER OF BENNY'S ADVENTURE TEAM! AND THE MOTTO FOR BENNY'S ADVENTURE TEAM IS TO NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER HOW HARD IT SEEMS!" He shouted out, confidence showing in his eyes.
"HAH! I like your confidence kid!" Brandon yelled out.
"As expected from an adventurer, they must always be ready to head into the unknown and daring tasks!" The boy kept on going, smirking.
A Swellow landed near the two, Greta jumped off the Pokemon, and returned its back into the Pokeball. "Hey you two, how did it go?" She asked.
Bennett held up the Brave Symbol, grinning. "It was pretty close too! My Dragonair was against Regice but she pulled through." He said.
"Great job, both of you! Brandon, Noland wants to talk about something with you." She turned to him.
"Is it about Bennett? If so, I can bring him along."
"Yes it is about him-"
"AM I FINALLY GOING TO HOENN! I CAN'T WAIT! LET'S GO!" Bennett shouted out, running off ahead. Greta grabbed his back collar.
"We're flying down..." She explained.
"Oh. THEN LET'S NOT WASTE TIME!"
She sighed before sending out a Salamance. Brandon knew whose this was. "Is this Tucker's Pokemon. Why do you have it?" He asked her.
"He let me borrow it." She explained. Bennett hopped onto the Pokemon's back, waiting patiently for the two adults to join. Brandon sighed, and jumped onto the Pokemon. Greta jumps onto it, and points to the Battle Factory.
"Over there!" She shouts out, and the Salamance zips in a flash and the three are at the factory. "Ugh..." She mumbles out, seeing shapes.
"Please use a Swellow next time..?" Bennett asks her, falling onto the ground.
"Agreed..." Brandon joins in.
They walked inside, and the rest of the Frontier Brains were there. Bennett waved to them, pulling off a big smile.
"Oh Bennett, you're here. Did you defeat Brandon?" Tucker asked him.
"Hmph! I sure did!" He showed off the symbol to Tucker.
"Ha! Fantastic, Bennett. Maybe you have a markings of a new Frontier Brain eh?" He teased at the boy.
"Thanks for the offer but no, I'll be making my own marks with Benny's Adventure Team! The world will see!" The boy exclaimed.
"He has quite the goals there." Spenser whispered to Noland.
"I know, but I have to tell him." He whispered back to him.
"...Fine, but he'll object." He said back.
Bennett looked at Noland, smiling. "So I have permission to go to Hoenn? My skills are good, treasure hunting and as a Pokemon trainer." He said.
Tucker looked elsewhere, his smile faded. Greta did the same, tapping her feet on the floor. The boy realized something was wrong just by telling everyone's reactions.
"What's wrong? Did something happen?" He looked back and forth at Greta and Tucker.
"Bennett. You're not going to Hoenn." Noland finally said.
"...what?"
"Hold on, Noland!" Brandon walked over to Noland. "We can't let Bennett not go to Hoenn after all this! The deal was clear, he fights us at least four of us and we'll let him go." He said.
"The plans have changed, it's too risky now."
"Too risky?! That boy fought us way to us! He defeated all of us fair and square! Than suddenly, plans changed and now he can't go."
Bennett dropped down to his knees, staring off in the distance. All that hard work, all of the plans he made to find his friends, were for nothing? Greta placed her hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it's going to be alright Benny. We'll let you go to Hoenn, but not now." She said to him.
"...But when?" He softly said.
"I don't know. But you'll make it, you always do."
Whenever a new day came, meant the cleaning management would be busy cleaning the ships. They needed to check everything was in place, and if not fix it.
Unova's and Sinnoh's ports shut down, meaning no ships would to enter. They understood them however, since the news about the S.S. Anne was still going on. Everyone was afraid.
"Reports show two comets flying across the Galar this week, spotted by two kids! At this rate, there are at Hoenn so better not mess this meteor show!"
The TV says, one of the workers wonders if they're going to talk about the S.S. Anne after this. A boy chooses to watch the news, having a small smile on his face.
"Hey, that kid's been here since last night, right?" One of the male workers asks a woman.
"Yeah, I think so. I'll go talk to him." She says, dropped her wrench and walking over to the boy. He looked eager watching it, and he looked up to the worker.
"Hey, um...You may want to leave." She told him, trying not to sound rude.
"Oh...OH! Okay, I'll go." The boy said, getting up from his seat. As soon as he did, a pipe bursted open from pressure. A worker screamed, making the woman run back to her work.
Bennett stood there, before walking over to the door. On his belt rested three Pokeballs, his companions right now.
He sat there in bed. It was 2:03 AM at night, super late. He already would have been asleep at this point, but Brandon's battle and Noland's words interrupted that. And he was still hung on about the Frontier Brain's words.
"Bennett, you are under no circumstances to leave the Battle Frontier."
"I don't want you to get hurt out there."
"Training will begin tomorrow, try to get some rest. I know this is hard for you."
He could handle Hoenn, he's been in several dangerous missions before! What made this one different now? He groaned, turning to the side. There his eyes rested on the window. This was the first floor of the hotel, he quickly got up from his bed and slowly walked towards it.
He opened it, letting the cold breeze in. He looked back at his blanket, to use it as a rope, but suddenly a rope was thrown up into the air and landed on his window. He gasped, taken out of surprise.
But he needed to do something first, he walked back to his bed and rearranged everything. Making it seemed he was sleeping restfully in his bed.
He did feel bad for them, but he looked back at the window and grabbed hold of the rope. He began to climb down, looking down. There was someone standing near the rope.
Lucy.
"WAH!" He let out, falling from the rope but the bushes eased his fall. Lucy was there with her Seviper, he nervously smiled at her, waving too.
"H...Hey." He greeted her.
"That was...amusing." She said.
"Lucy, listen. Please don't tell Noland and the rest about this! I'll climb back up and pretend this will never happen! Just don't tell them I tried escaping please!" He begged with her.
"Then why would I throw the rope?"
Bennett blinked at her a second there.
"What."
"It's obvious I want you to get to Hoenn at this point, Benny. Now Scott is waiting for you at the entrance, I'll join you later." She started explaining to the boy.
"Wait wait! Why are you helping me? Didn't Noland tell you to not let me go to Hoenn?" He said.
"Oh he did. But...I want you to hone your skills so eventually we'll see who's luck will win." She smirked at him, making him get chills. "Good luck or bad luck? It's obvious who will win, but after your battles with the Frontier Brains, I'm impressed. When you come back, face me first."
Bennett began to sweat, before nodding his head. "Okay. Thank you!" He thanked her before running off and following the lampposts.
"LUCY! HAVE YOU SEEN BENNETT?! HE'S GONE MISSING! WE CAN'T FIND HIM!"
Greta smashed open Lucy's door, the woman looked calm as she did so. She pulled out a note. "As a matter of fact, yes. I have seen him. But he left me a note and ran off." She said.
"Give me the note, please!" She pleaded with her.
"Here." She gave the note to her, she opened it up, reading the contexts.
"Lucy!"
And it seemed like the rest of the Frontier Brains are here now. All of them were looking tired and out of breath, even Spenser.
"GUYS YOU NEED TO SEE THIS!" Greta ran to the Frontier Brains, showing the note. All of them read the note. Tucker looked at Noland.
"...Noland, should we search for him."
"I don't know..."
Bennett sat there, in back of the small ship. Scott adjusted his mirror, looking at the boy through it. He turned back to him. "Heya kid! Don't worry about them! The Frontier Brains are tough as steel and metal, they can get through anything!" He said.
"...But I should leave them a note at least! Tell them I'm save and sound!" He shouted. Scott covered his ears, trying to not get them ringing.
"Okay! Here!" He gave Bennett a small piece of paper and a pen. The boy grabbed the two items, and thanked him. From there, he began to write down as Scott kept cruising the ship.
'Dear Spenser, Tucker, Brandon, Noland, Lucy, and Greta.
I'm sorry to tell you all this but I'm running away. I got my team back, so you may notice three Pokemon missing. And I can say with my heart that I'm going to find my friends. Fischl, Barbara, and Razor. I've worried about them for this long, Hoenn is the perfect start to find them. I've gone on several missions like this before, and I always survive them! I may have bad luck but nothing gets through me! Nothing I tell you!
...Hah! I'm rambling on, well. I really hope you all understand where I'm coming from. I appreciate your help and care you have given me in the Battle Frontier.
May Barbatos be with you,
From Bennett.'
well that was all for today everyone i'm not going to be typing as many author's note so...i hoped you all enjoyed and have a wonderful day/night!
