A/N: Kindly see the note at the end of this chapter! I've answered some questions!
With his hands locked together in front of him, held together with a pair of handcuffs, Jesse sat alone in a room. He was angry and though he wouldn't admit it, he was scared.
He didn't think he would be caught. It never crossed his mind that he wouldn't get away with it. It was his own fault, and he knew that deep down, but now, he was angrier at Beca than he was at himself. How dare she trick him? Betray the trust he gave her? He allowed her to go the bathroom by herself one time and what does she do? Runs away. And he made her regret that decision. He wasn't done making her regret that decision. As soon as he convinced these cops that he was innocent.

"Becs, you have to eat." Chloe said, her voice tired as she sat across from the stubborn girl. She and Aubrey had gone home the night before and got a few hours of much needed sleep. When they returned, they were informed Beca had turned down her breakfast. Chloe made sure it was brought to her anyway. Aubrey had left right away to go pick up something other than hospital food, hoping that would entice her to eat but Chloe was adamant she ate something from the tray in the meantime.
She shook her head. "I'm not hungry, Chloe. I just want to go home." She said, looking at the tray of food in front of her.
Chloe looked at the tray and made a face. "Bree should be back anytime now with something better. That toast doesn't look that bad." She tried.
Beca looked toward the window. Her stomach was in knots. She was anxious about having to identify Jesse. She was informed he was currently being questioned and was worried about the lies he was telling. What if he told them everything she said was a lie? What if they believed him?
"I feel sick." She said, her face paling and Chloe quickly stood and grabbed her emesis basin, holding it out to her just in time for her to empty her stomach into it.
She quickly pulled her hair back and hit the call button on Becas bed.
She had just finished and sat back, her body trembling and tears sliding down her cheeks when a nurse walked in.
"Oh no," She said walking over. "I'm sorry you're not feeling well, here I can take that." She said taking the basin. "Is there anything I can get for you?"
"No thank you." She said and the nurse gave her a sympathetic look as she took the basin away.
She disposed of it before returning and checking Becas vitals. "How is your pain?"
"Throwing up didn't feel great on my ribs." She said and the nurse nodded, fiddling with something on Becas IV and Chloe watched, glad that her pain was being managed.
"Is that morphine?" She asked.
"It is, it should help you relax a little. Hit that button if you need anything else okay?"
"Thank you." Beca said moving the blanket off her lap and swinging her legs over the side of the bed.
"Beca?" Chloe asked watching her limp away from the bed. "Should you be walking, after getting morphine?"
"Probably not. I'm just going to brush my teeth. I'll be out soon." She said walking into the bathroom and closing the door, not giving Chloe time to argue.
She leaned her hands on the edge of the sink and dropped her head. Her body hurt and throwing up didn't help. She could already feel the small amount of morphine kicking in, her head got lighter and she knew she needed to hurry back to bed. She was hungry but couldn't bring herself to eat. She slowly looked up into the mirror and glared at her reflection. The black eyes, the split lip and numerous other bruises and scrapes that dotted her face glared back at her. The stitches in her hair line. How could he do this to her? How could she let him do this to her? She could have said no, when he first showed up at the rehearsal space. She could have called him out, and her friends would have backed her up. He wouldn't do anything in front of them. Why did she let him take her?

It had been two hours and Jesse wasn't budging.
"So, what? You went and had a lovely weekend tucked away in your apartment a then when Beca was leaving, she just tripped and fell down a flight of nearly thirty stairs?"
Jesse sat back, taking a breath through his nose. "Yes. Exactly."
The detective nodded. "Okay, so when we go to your apartment, we aren't going to find anything out of the ordinary? When we ask your neighbors if they heard anything that would corroborate Becas story, they will say no?"
"Exactly." He said. "Because nothing happened. I don't know what she is telling you, but it isn't true. Maybe the fall messed up her head. I never hurt her. I love her."
The detective let out a humorless chuckle. "I'll bet you do."
Jesse glared, but said nothing.
"Okay, so how do you explain being found hiding in Becas closet this morning?" He asked leaning forward.
Jesse faltered for just a moment. "I'd like a lawyer." He said. "I won't say another word without one."
He raised his eyebrows sitting back.
"Now you want a lawyer. Because we asked why you were in a closet? But not when we were accusing you of kidnapping and assault? Doesn't that seem a little backwards to you? What happened, you hit your head too?"
"Lawyer." Jesse said, his nostrils flaring.
The detective slapped the table and stood up. "Okay." He said and pulled out his phone then held it toward Jesse.
"Smile." He said and Jesse looked up just to be blinded by a camera flash.
"What the hell was that for?" He demanded blinking rapidly.
The detective did something on his phone and then pocketed it and looked at him.
"You need to be identified. But currently the one that needs to ID you is in the hospital and can't do that. Also, if we don't have to make her come in and look at you, putting her through more stress than she needs, we won't."
"What happens now?" Jesse demanded as the Detective opened the door to leave.
"Now, you go wait in a cell until a lawyer takes you on." He said and walked out.
Jesse let out an angry growl and slammed his cuffed fists down on the table.

"Good news, Beca."
Beca, Chloe and Aubrey looked up from where they sat. Becas doctor stopped at the end of her bed. Aubrey had shown up while Beca was still in the bathroom. Chloe filled her in on Beca getting sick and confessed her worries to her best friend. The conversation ceased however, when Beca opened the door and came back out. She was a little wobbly and welcomed Chloe's help back to the bed.
Now, they waited curiously for the Doctor to give her the good news.
"I can clear you to go home." He smiled.
She perked up, for the first time in days.
"Really?" She asked. "When?"
He nodded. "All your vitals look good, and as long as they stay that way, you can leave in the morning. How is your pain?"
"Its manageable." She said. "I needed a little morphine, because I got sick, but that's all." She said, hoping it wouldn't keep her there longer.
"That's okay. We will send you with some medication to help while you recover at home. However, we have done all we need to do here. You will need to come back for a follow up appointment in a week or so, to just to check on things, and see if your stitches are ready to come out."
"Thank you. For everything you've done."
He nodded with a smile. "I am going to need you to try and eat though. I've been informed you have barely been touching your meals. Please do your best to finish this as well as dinner. You should be able to leave before breakfast tomorrow." He winked.
Beca glanced over at Chloe before looking back at him. "Okay." She said.
"Okay. I will see you in the morning. Get some rest and eat up." He nodded at the food in front of her.
She watched him walk out and turned to Chloe who already had her hands up in defense.
"It wasn't me." She said. "I'm sure the nurses that take your tray probably keep record of that stuff."
Beca sighed and looked at the food Aubrey had brought to her. It was her favorite meal from a local restaurant and while she would usually have been overjoyed to have it, she didn't feel like she could stomach it. She wanted to go home, though so she pulled it closer and they watched as she took a bite.

The next morning, Beca was dressed in real clothes. Her hair was brushed, and she was relatively pain free for the time being. She had been unhooked from her IV's that morning and allowed a shower. Chloe had brought her a pair of jeans and a top and she couldn't wait to get out of the pajamas she had been in.
She looked a little better. Her bruises were already beginning to heal, and her split lip had scabbed over. She had a slight limp because of her ankle but she didn't mind it. She was just happy to be getting ready to leave.
She had just lowered herself onto the bed when Detective Kendrick walked in.
"Good Morning." He said walking over.
"Good morning." She said and Chloe smiled at him as she packed Becas pajamas into a bag.
"I hear you are going home today?" He asked.
"Yeah, they said everything is looking good."
"Glad to hear it." He said. "I do have a photo I need you to look at." He said pulling out his phone.
She looked at him guardedly.
"It was taken of Jesse Swanson at the police station last night. We have been given permission for you to ID him from here instead of going to the station."
Chloe stepped up beside her and Beca felt the back of her hand brush her knuckles. She carefully slipped her hand into Chloe's being mindful of the splits on her fingers.
"Okay."
"Are you ready?" He asked and she nodded.
"I am." She said and he turned the phone toward her.
She took a breath as the photo was shown. Jesse was sitting at a table and he looked as though he had been caught off guard. His wrists were cuffed together.
"That's him. That's my boyfr- my ex-boyfriend. Jesse Swanson." She said looking down and Chloe gently squeezed her hand.
He took the phone back and put it in his pocket. "Thank you Beca."
"Is he cooperating?" She asked looking toward the window and he blew out a breath.
"No. he's asked for a lawyer." He said. "He goes in front of a judge tomorrow."
"And what happens then?"
"The charges against him will be read and he will enter his plea."
"And when he pleads not guilty?" She asked.
"If he pleads not guilty, and you choose to go forward with the charges another court date will be set. If he pleads guilty, he will get sentenced."
"If he pleads not guilty, will he be let go until the next court date?"
"The judge will set a bail and if there is someone willing to pay it, then yes. However if he pleads not guilty, this will most likely go to trial. If it happens that he is bailed out, we can help protect you. Restraining orders, police detail of necessary. We will make sure he doesn't come around you."
Beca took in a deep breath and looked at the ceiling, blinking back tears.
"I'm sorry Beca. We will be in touch. I'm glad you're able to go home." He said and with a nod at Chloe he left.
Aubrey walked in just as he was leaving, and they exchanged greeting before she walked over.
"The car is outside, whenever you're ready." She smiled and Beca slid off the bed.
"I'm ready."

That night, Beca sat by the window in Chloe's bedroom. Chloe had made up the couch and was sleeping there, kind enough to give Beca her bed. She tried to argue but lost with the argument that she was still healing, and a couch wasn't going to help.
Aubrey and Chloe had gone to bed a couple hours before, under the impression that Beca was already asleep. However, when they had checked on her, she had been faking being asleep.
They had taken it easy that day. Aubrey made an easy lunch and picked up pizza for dinner. They stayed in, watching tv and getting Beca settled. Stacie stopped by for a few minutes to check on her and say hello. Excited to let the Bella's know she was out of the hospital. They planned to have a small get together in a few days. Stacie offering to inform Becas professors that she would need her work emailed to her for the time being. For this, Beca was grateful.
Now though, she was kept awake by her own loud thoughts. She was deeply weighed down and concerned about Jesse's court date the next day. She was terrified of what he was going to say. She didn't want to be called a liar. She wasn't. She also didn't want him getting out and getting away with what he did. Maybe even coming after her to finish what he started. Police detail or not. He would do what he wanted and she knew that.
She had no idea how long he had planned to hold her. By Monday night her friends would have been looking for her if she hadn't returned home. Chloe would be knocking on Jesse's door. What had he planned to do? To say? Did he even think that far ahead? Or was this as spontaneous as it seemed?
She was deep in her worries, staring out at the partially lit street that Chloe and Aubrey lived on. It was a modest little two-bedroom house they rented just off campus. Only a ten-minute walk to the Bella house. She had drifted so far into her own mind; she didn't hear the bedroom door open.
It wasn't until she felt the air in the room change, that she flipped around, standing from the chair she was seated in next to the window.
It was Chloe, she looked as though she had just woken up, her hands raised in front of her.
"Sorry, I'm sorry." She said quickly. "I didn't think you would be awake."
Beca felt her heart beating in her chest, and she let out a breath. "It's okay. What's wrong?" She asked, wincing slightly as the pain from being startled started to creep in. She limped the few steps back to the bed and sat down.
"Oh I got cold out there. I keep a warmer blanket in the closet, I was just going to grab it." She said pointing at the closet.
"Oh, okay." Beca said softly, pulling the blanket back over her. She watched as Chloe retrieved the blanket and closed the door.
"Are you okay? Why are you awake, its two in the morning?" Chloe asked.
Beca looked down, shaking her head. "Just too much going on in my head to sleep I guess."
"Is there anything I can do? Anything I can get you?" Chloe asked taking a step towards the bed.
Beca smiled up at her softly. Chloe was always quick to try and figure out a solution.
"No, thank you. I appreciate it." She said.
Chloe nodded, stopping a few feet from the bed. "Okay, um, let me know if you do okay?"
"I will." Beca said and watched as Chloe started to leave the room. She bit her lip, a sudden knot forming in her stomach and she felt panicked watching Chloe walk away.
"Um, Chlo?" She said quickly, startling herself as Chloe turned around, a questioning look on her face.
"Yeah?" She asked, her voice quiet but Beca could detect the hopefulness in it.
Beca looked down again, feeling a little embarrassed. "Do…do you think you could maybe…um, would you stay with me?" She asked, her voice tired.
Chloe smiled, taking another step toward her.
"You want me to stay with you?" She asked.
She nodded. "Please? I, uh, I don't think I can- I don't want to sleep alone. Will you please stay?"
Chloe could see Beca was nervous to ask this, as if they hadn't shared a bed before. She also knew that things had changed in the last few days. Beca had changed. She went through something extremely traumatic and was clearly not okay. No one expected her to be. Chloe had wondered if she should have offered to stay with her, but also didn't want to overwhelm her if she needed to be alone to process what had happened.
She was glad now though, that Beca was asking. She threw the blanket over the bed and climbed in beside her.
"Of course, Becs. Do you want to cuddle?" She asked. Never being one to beat around the bush. Beca smirked.
"I do." She said and carefully laid down, being mindful of her ribs, and other injuries. When she was settled, Chloe very gently scooted up behind her, and wrapped a comforting arm around her. Becas freshly washed hair, tickled her nose and she nuzzled closer making Beca chuckle as she got comfortable.
It was quiet for a few minutes and Chloe had just begun to drift off, now being warm and feeling needed as she curled around the smaller girl. Then she heard a soft voice, right on the edge of sleep,
"Thank you, Chloe."
"I've got you." She whispered back. And within moments they both fell into the most restful sleep either of them had had in days.
A/N: I have had a few people inquire about the story line, and if it is going to be the same from the original or not. It is going to be a bit different, as I have a lot more experience in writing and back in 2014 I was so quick to finish this story, I later felt like I could have done so much more with it. So it is going to be a bit different. The main BIG difference is it isn't going to be a triple treble. Its going to be BECHLOE and STAUBREY with close MITCHEN/STECA/CHASIE friendships! I hope y'all still like it, and please review? I love seeing all the familiar names and hearing your thoughts on the story!
