Bill's stomach groaned, as he pushed himself off the ground, opening up his eyes. He would have asked himself why he was laying on the ground, but the chains warped around his hands gave him that answer.
And the events replayed in his mind. His whole body began to shake, as he held himself. "Calm down…You need to calm down…" He told himself. "So what if you got kidnapped one or two days ago and stranded in some unknown place and now being forced to work against your will!"
"…Of course that's not good!" He yelled, slamming his fists down.
"Bill, don't do that. These walls are thin, and the grunts will hear that…" Sucrose advised him.
He turned to her, the girl holding herself like a ball. Without objecting to that, he sighed instead. "You're right." He said, leaning against the wall for some rest. "They…didn't have us do much work yesterday." He said, raising his eyebrows.
"Yes. It's quite strange, but it's better than them overworking us." Sucrose agreed with him. "And I don't want to face Ghetsis…" She added that last part to the sentence, but whispered to herself.
Bill looked at his chains, than back at Sucrose's than back at his. "Maybe…we can break these chains when we have the chance!" He explained, with a confident smile on his face.
"…I have break these chains multiple times before." She said, looking down at them. But she slowly looked back up, her shock collar showing. "You can…guess the rest for yourself." She sighed.
"Oh…" Bill sighs, with a frown.
"Sorry, I'm late!"
The door swings open, and in walks a grunt. It became obvious they sent different grunts to give tasks for them, perhaps to not let them get attached to the hostages.
The said grunt's hair was a mess, trying to cover up his day with a hat. And as standard, he was wearing a black shirt with the 'R' symbol on it. In his hands was a plate, Bill simply raised a eyebrow at the food presented there.
"Is that…a Old Chateau?" He asked the grunt, pointing a finger up.
"It's for Sucrose." He said.
"Thanks for letting me know." Bill mumbled to himself, as the grunt made his way to Sucrose's side. He gently placed the plate down, near her. The girl eyed it, than looked at the grunt.
"Can you please leave? I don't want anyone to be here, watching me eat." She asked the grunt.
"…Not even a thank you?" The grunt asked her, tilting his head to the side.
"…I-Thank you." She mumbled, grabbing the plate.
"Freak show." The grunt let out, walking away from her. They didn't stay for long, leaving the room and slamming the door locked.
"That went well." Sucrose said, slowly biting into her 'breakfast.' "I wished they got one for you. Having bread and soup isn't enough for a lunch." She shrugged her shoulders.
And complete silence came again for the both of them. Sucrose didn't look interested in her so called 'breakfast', placing the plate down on the ground.
While Bill looked over to the door. To his left, was the workspace he and Sucrose worked at. If it were not for the chains, maybe they could have a chance to escape. But then there comes the another chance, if any of the admins checking up on their inventions.
The door opened, but instead of a grunt, it was Colress. "Ahah…Good morning you two." He said, wiping his forehead. Bill noticed something was off about him today. He looked a bit more…scared or stressed about something.
Sucrose's ears perked up, the girl lifting her head up when he arrived. "Colress? Why are you here? I thought you couldn't come today or yesterday?" She asked him.
"I…was…busy!" He laughed it off. One of his hands was behind his back, and he pulled it out. It was a bag with a certain branding on it that read 'Malasada.' "I brought you some Tapu Cocoa and some Malasadas! Please enjoy you two, my treat!" He cheers, with a smile on his face.
Bill would have protested against, but he had never eaten a Malasada ever. But at the same time, he was never kidnapped just for digging too deep for friends. "Please give me one…" Bill begs the mad scientist, his stomach growling. Questions can come later, after breakfast is done.
"Good!" Colress gives Bill a napkin and a Malasada on top of it. Then placing down the Tapu Cocoa near him. The scientist looks over to Sucrose. "Would you like some too, Sucrose?" He asks the girl.
Her ears perk up, before it flops down. "S…Sure." She nods her head, Colress giving her 'breakfast.'
Colress sits down, in the middle, sighing and wiping his forehead. "Yesterday was…stressful for me to say the least." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "But you two won't have to work today." He finished off.
Bill and Sucrose raised their eyebrows at that last sentence. "Colress, what do you mean by that?" Sucrose asks, putting down her half eaten Malasada on her napkin.
"…Archie and Lysandre…are bit out of action at the moment." He laughs it off, trying to cheer the mood up. "The two got into bit of mischief yesterday, if you could say." He continued.
"What happened to them?" Bill asks instead, albeit a bit nervous.
"…" Colress is silent, his smile fading. "Okay, okay! I give!" He shouts, raising his arms up and dropping them to his side. "I had to do so much yesterday because of those two! I had to preform surgery, and now I know how to remove an eye!" He exclaims, talking rapidly. "Oh and Lysandre comes in at 12am missing an arm! Ain't that wonderful." He crosses his arms together and sighs.
Bill's in awe. His jaw has completely dropped to the ground. While he and Sucrose were busy working yesterday for whatever dangerous gizmo, it seems Rainbow Rocket was getting into a bit of troubles as well. "Yesterday just seemed like a blur to me." Bill said, grabbing his head. "Night came so quickly…and now it's a new day!" He sighed.
Sucrose had a confident look in her eyes. "So Archie and Lysandre are currently out at the moment?" She asks, continuing to eat.
"Yes." Colress said.
"…Good." She lets out, shuttering mid way.
Bill took a double turn at that, not expecting the shy and kind scientist to say that all of a sudden. "SUCROSE!" He yells at her.
"I mean…they deserve it!" Sucrose tries explaining herself.
"To be fair, she does have a point. You were kidnapped by Rainbow Rocket." Colress interrupts in, walking over to Bill and leaning onto his ear. "She does this sometimes. It's okay. She just needs to let her anger out a bit." He explained to him, whispering.
Bill leans back to him, whispering back. "But I didn't expect that kind of reaction from her?!" He said, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Well there was this one time where she almost killed Cy-" Colress accidentally shouts, raising his voice a tad too bit loud at the world killed.
"Colress!" Sucrose shouts, frowning.
"Ah! My apologies!" He immediately stands up. "I know how you're…sensitive about that specific topic." He said.
She lets out a groan, but doesn't object against that. "I just wish I can get out of here…" She said.
"Don't worry, time will come and I'll find the perfect way for both of you to get out." Colress said.
Bill opens his mouth, wanting to speak up.
"Colress…You always say that. But I've been here for almost three months now…" She exclaimed, interrupting Bill. "And what has exactly been done?" She asks him.
"Well, I have gained the admins AND the leader of Rainbow Rocket's respect. They trust me enough to just waltz in here, and I can say I was simply watching over your work. It's as simple as that." Colress shrugged his shoulders. "That reminds me about other thing too." He said.
"What is it?" Bill asked.
"I need to get lunch for someone else. She hasn't suspected it's me bringing her food in that cage…" Colress said, whispering to himself at the end of his sentence. "I'll see you two tomorrow, toodles!" He waved bye, heading out of the room.
"So, we just get to relax for the day?" Bill wondered to himself.
"I suppose so. Maybe I could short circuit this shock collar but I've tried that once and it didn't end well for me…" Sucrose mumbled.
Bill looked over to the door. He knew the chains would hold him back from leaving this room. Then he turned back to Sucrose, the girl rambling on plans on her shock collar. "We're going to escape…We have to." He told himself.
