Chapter 1
For an instant, Kiani felt like she was there, staring death in the face again. The thunderous sounds of the crowd, stomping their feet in excitment, sounded all to similar to the booming wing beats of Yvertal. They had both come so close to dying that day, so close to loosing everything. Kiani had actually died that night and, she would have stayed dead, if not for Diva's thunderbolt restarting her heart. She had the eight inch scar running up between her shoulder blades to remind her.
A figure stepped in front of her and she could feel her chin being lifted. She let her eyes roam up the thin legs in front of her, then the white and green gown, and then finally, her vibrant crystal blue eyes settled on those of pale red. She smiled at the expression in those gorgeous eyes.
"We made it out Kiani," Diva said in her graceful tone of voice, as she held her green hands out for Kiani to take.
Kiani let out a shaky breath and placed her hands in Diva's. "I know, it's just-"
She allowed Diva to pull her to her feet and her black, peeptoe, t-strap heels echoed off the polished concrete as she stepped closer.
"I nearly died Diva, It still gets to me sometimes... how close it was, i mean."
Diva's red eyes softened and she placed her forehead against her trainer's, "I know, I still think about it too," she whispered. "Seeing you laying on that floor, at Yvertal's feet, not moving and bleeding out." she paused. "It's a nightmare that will stay with me until i die."
Kiani pulled back and sighed, "Then we just keep getting stronger... strong enough that these memories no longer affect us."
Diva nodded with a sweet smile and her green hair bobbed with the movement.
"I love you Diva," Kiani said quietly as she raised a hand to pull her pink hair over her right shoulder.
"I love you too."
Their lips met for a kiss and Kiani lost herself in the love she had for her partner. Their kiss deepened and Kiani's hands came to rest on Diva's hip and lower back. She felt one of her partner's hands caress the side of her face and the other gripped her hip, pulling her closer. Kiani shifted her body around the gardevoir's protruding heart piece and slid the side of her chest along it. She heard a slight moan of pleasure and knew the touch of her breast on the sensitive protrusion had an arousing affect on Diva. She let her hands drop to the subtle curve of her pokémon's ass and gave it a light squeeze but the sound of Logan's voice and the roaring crowd, brought them both back to reality.
"Fuck... We can pick this up later if you want to," Kiani said breathily as she reluctantly stepped back .
Dive just nodded, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. Kiani ran her hands down the front of her charcoal tailored, wide leg dress pants and then around to smooth the fabric over her ass cheeks. Diva watched with keen interested and Kiani noticed her hand had gripped the white skirts of her gown just below her crotch. She smirked at the lusting gardevoir and adjusted the vertical panels of the white, multi tie bodysuit that hid her naked breasts.
"Are you ready for this? It's our first battle since Vortex," Kiani asked.
Diva looked up to meet her eyes and blushed when she saw the smirk on her face.
"I am," she responed as a determined expression settled across her beautiful features.
Kiani grabbed the clutch that held her poké balls from the bench she had been sitting on and grinned, "Then let's go kick Ketcher's ass."
"Please put your hands together for the Saviour of Trinity and Tremane's favourite daughter, Kiani Rose and her gardevoir, Diva!"
Fireworks burst around the archway as Kiani confidently stepped out onto the field with swaying hips. A rousing score of music filled the stadium alongside the roar of the crowd as Kiani made it a dozen feet from the entrance. She turned on the spot, waving and smiling up at the cheering spectators, before reaching out a hand to gesture for her partner to join her. Diva emerged to screams and whistles and made her way to link arms with her trainer. Together, they continued on to join Ketcher and the two announcers at centre field, while still waving to the fans. The music faded as the pair arrived to greet the others and the noise level dropped.
"Ketcher, Kiani," Ted and Roger said, taking it in turns to speak the names. "It is a pleasure and an honour to have you both here with us tonight. We can't wait to see what your match has in store." They said in unison as they passed each trainer a small microphone earpiece.
Kiani placed the device around her right ear. "Thank you for inviting us to be here tonight, Diva and I are very excited," she said, turning to smile at Diva, who gave a nod of confirmation. Kiani faced Ketchwick and smirked. "Heya Ketch, long time no see."
He nodded, "As my old friend just said, it's great to be here." He smirked back, a mischievous glint in his dark green eyes. He gestured to the crowd, "And it's great to see all of you, thanks for coming out to this awesome day!"
The crowd cheered at his acknowledgement and then fell quiet again.
"It's good to see you Ki, how have you been?" Ketchwick asked in a friendly tone.
"I am..." she paused in her response, not sure wether to be honest or put on a brave face. "Doing okay." A bit of both, she decided.
"Kiani, Diva" Roger said as he stepped forward. "Before we get things under way, i would like to take this moment to say something. On behalf of everyone here tonight and for those watching around the country," He reached out and took both their hands, silver lining his eyes. "You have our deepest thanks and gratitude. We know the risk you both took in stopping Team Vortex, and what it nearly cost you. I can't even begin to comprehend what it took to stop Yvertal from destroying our beloved country. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
A round of applause rolled across the grand stands and Kiani swallowed the lump in her throat. She wanted to say something but couldn't find the words, so she gave the man a heartfelt smile and mouthed a thank you. Her gaze lifted to find Ketchwick with a wide smile on his face and he dipped his head in respect.
The applause died down as Roger stepped back to his position and Logan finished clapping and cleared his throat, "Now what do you say we get this match under way." He gestured to the two trainers, "Would you please step forward to greet each other."
Kiani and Ketcher stepped up and took each other's hands in a firm grasp.
"That's new," the young man said, glancing down to the mandala tattoo that covered her right shoulder. "I like it."
Kiani shrugged and gave a sad smile, "me too. All the best for the match Ketcher."
He must have read the expression in her smile because his own aultered, "L-likewise Ki, may the best trainer win."
"Please proceed to your assigned zones," Logan announced as the platform rose from the ground to hover a few meters in the air.
Kiani turned to return her microphone to Roger, then linked arms with Diva and the two made their way to the trainer's box at the southern end of the battle field.
Once the two trainers were in position, Logan began to speak, his tone turning to one of formality.
"This is a sanctioned exhibition match, therefore, it will be subject to regulation rules. Only one augmentation may be used per trainer, per battle. This includes but is not limited to, mega evolutions, type shifts and the like."
Kiani listened to Logan speak, while mentally going through the different paths the battle could take.
"Only one legendary or mythical, that has been registered and approved before the start of the tournament season, may be used per trainer." Logan relaxed his stance and glanced first to Ketcher, then to Kiani. "Now as this is an exhibition match and not a tournament match, you will each be limited to three of your chosen six pokémon. Please take a few moments to make your selections carefully."
Kiani's pink eyebrows rose, "Well that just threw a wrench in the works."
"Choose wrong and you'll be at a type disadvantage throughout the whole match." Diva said stepping up beside her partner.
"It's certainly a possibility," she responded thoughfully. "I'll definatly need Ninetales to counter his Lucario, there's no way Ketcher would battle without him."
Diva nodded, "good choice, Which else?"
Kiani bit her lip as she mulled it over. "It has to be Garry, his water attacks will round us out well enough and his flying sub type will give him an edge."
Kiani could see her lover staring at her out the corner of her eye and she raised a pink eyebrow "Yes?" She said with an amused tone.
"And your third?" Diva said hopefully.
Kiani laughed and flicked her on the forehead, "That's a silly question hun, you are always my first choice."
Diva blushed a little and Kiani giggled.
"We have your new type shift to give us ghost and electric if we need it."
"It's a good thing we trained with it since... you know" Diva said, her tone turning sour.
Kiani nodded her agreement. "It looks like Ketcher's made his choices." She said.
Diva watched as her trainer pulled two of the poké balls from her clutch and then placed it on the floor behind her. She slipped one into the pocket of her pants and held the other in preparation.
Logan cleared his throat, "It looks like our combatants have made their choices."
Both trainers nodded.
"Best of luck to you both. Initiating random field selection," He said in his formal tone.
The nano particles in the surface of the twenty-five by fifteen meter field began to shift and reform. Kiani ran through the different field types in her head as the floor dipped and rose in various sections. Columns of various widths and height began to rise into the air and she knew immediatly which field they were fighting on.
"Temple ruins," she said with anticipation.
"Field... mountain temple ruins." Logan announced as the field finished forming.
One half of the field was raised to about five meters above floor level and it formed into the entry way of a crumbling temple. Steps descended from the courtyard onto a rocky outcrop that dropped to a canyon that sat about five meters below floor level. Guard rails came up around Kiani and the section that she was standing on rose to sit level with the temple floor, giving her a good view of the whole battle field.
She swept her gaze to Ketcher's own raised platform as she pressed her finger over the poké ball's centre switch and It expanded to it's full size in her palm. She steeled her nerves, mentally perparing herself as she rolled her shoulders.
"Exhibition match. Trinity's Kiani Rose versus Champion Ketchwick Burges... Trainers, fight."

I will try to keep my releases weekly, but please understand that life will always come first.
