Felt really motivated to write today so you all get the second chapter early! :D
An important side note is though that I'm an anime watcher only. So some new information that might have been revealed in the manga of JJk and MHA I may be unaware of. And therefore it might not be included. Please keep that in mind.
I do NOT own My hero academia or Jujutsu Kaisen!. This is purely a work of fanfiction!.
[16-1-2022. Fixed some typos and mispellings]
Thankfully his instincts had kicked in on time and he managed to catch her before her head hit the ground. He carefully picked her up bridal-style, closing the front door with his foot before he carried her towards the couch in the living room. He gently laid her down, making sure to check her pulse just in case. Thankfully she was okay. His gaze softened ever so slightly as he looked down at the unconscious woman on the couch "Sorry about that".
Now that she was unconscious she couldn't make it to work on time, which could have severe consequences for her. Not wanting his new mother to possibly lose her job because of what he just did, Gojo proceeded to look around the house for any information he could find about her workplace. Anything that could get him into contact with them. He searched the living room with no luck so he then moved on to the kitchen, no luck either. The bathroom was an obvious no-go so that only left the other 3 rooms upstairs that he hadn't yet explored.
Once upstairs he entered the first door he saw, no luck. It was yet another bathroom, Second door, no luck it was locked, Third door, jackpot!. It was an office and right there above the computer was a board with a bunch of posted notes, different kinds of important contact information were written on them. Including the number of his new mother's workplace.
Now having found what he was looking for, Gojo pulled out his smartphone and quickly dialed the number, holding the phone up to his ear. It rang 3 times before finally someone picked up. Gojo proceeded to explain the situation, telling them that his mother was sick and he was calling them on her behalf. Informing them that she could not come to work today. The conversation lasted for about 3 minutes in total before he finally hung up. Mission accomplished.
Now that that loose end was tied up he pocketed his phone once more and headed downstairs, Quickly gobbling up his breakfast soon after. Once he'd finished eating he quickly scribbled down a note for his mother to find when she woke up. With that done he headed towards the front door, pulled out his mother's keys that were still in the lock, and put them back on the small rack next to the door. Besides that pair of keys, there was another slightly smaller set of keys with a bright superhero keychain attached to it. He figured that those were supposed to be his so he grabbed those and headed out the door, locking it behind him.
Once outside, Gojo was confronted with how truly different this world was from his previous one. Yes, it was still Japan, he pretty much confirmed that when his new mother spoke to him and when he looked up information about quirks on his phone. But all of the buildings were totally different. Yes, the important landmarks and buildings were still there but the rest looked different. Some things like the school for sorcerers were not present and instead, there were schools for heroes. The biggest change for him would have to be the people walking around. Everywhere he looked he saw people of all shapes and sizes, some looking more human than others. In the end, it didn't really faze him though since he assumed that it had to do something with their quirks. And besides, nothing could compare to the crazy-looking curses he'd seen and fought. So in the end, he couldn't really complain since this version of Japan was familiar enough that he could make his way around with ease.
Satisfied with his research (Which basically consisted of him teleporting all around Tokyo, checking things out) he decided that it was about time to take some time for himself and just enjoy his new life. And thus he teleported to the main part of the city to have a good time for once.
Inko Midoriya slowly opened her eyes, groaning a little as she sat up and took in her surroundings. She blinked slowly as her eyes adjusted the light, only to reveal that she was in her own living room. "I wonder what happened..." she asked herself as she examined her position on the couch, she didn't remember getting on there to sleep. Still a bit hazy she slowly shifted her gaze to the clock above the tv on the living room wall, only for her eyes to widen instantly as the memories flooded back to her. It was currently 14:50! she should've been at work right now!. She cringed inwardly, oh her boss was going to fire her!. Panicking, she stood up, only to regret it instantly as she fell down face-first onto the ground, causing her to bump against the coffee table in the process.
"ow ow ow ow!..." she winced as she slowly sat up, grabbing onto the coffee table for support. "This is what I get for missing work..." she mumbled as she stood back up, brushing some minor dirt off of her skirt afterward. It was then that she finally noticed the small not note on the table in front of her. Curious, she picked it up and began to read.
Sorry for scaring you.
I called your workplace to mention that you couldn't come to work today.
They understood and wish you a speedy recovery.
I'm currently out shopping, don't know when I'll be back.
Take it easy okay?.
Izuku.
Inko blinked as stared at the letter currently held securely in her hands. Did Izuku always have such neat handwriting? From what she last remembered his writing was a scribbly mess. Sure it was readable but the lines weren't ever completely straight. The thought honestly scared her, what else hadn't she noticed?. Ever since she'd told him that he was quirkless she had admittedly paid less attention to him. Not because she didn't love him, but because she felt guilty that he had to give up on his dream just because her genetics had refused to pass on her quirk. Admittedly she didn't care for her quirk that much but she knew Izuku did.
Come to think of it, her son had finally developed a quirk hadn't he?. Inko smiled as she remembered this morning, how he'd briefly turned her whole world upside down by teleporting right in front of her. It was a good quirk, one that he could surely use for a good hero career. He could finally achieve his dream of becoming a confident hero. Speaking of which, her son seemed much more confident to, he hadn't stuttered once, never broke eye contact and even his way of speaking sounded more confident and clear. One would think that he was a different person with the way that he spoke and carried himself this morning. Who would've thought that finally having a quirk would make Izuku this sure of himself?. She certainly never did.
Folding up the note and putting it in the trash, Inko decided to make some lunch for herself and crash in front of the tv until Izuku would come home. She hated to admit it to herself but she honestly needed a break. She was quite the workaholic when she wanted to be and often refused to cash in her vacation dates. stating that she would only take a day off if it was a life-threatening emergency. She really needed to follow her son's example and take a break once in a while, even if she wasn't really sick.
Grabbing a bag of Brandnew popcorn, she quickly put it on the microwave before she made her way back towards the couch and turned on the tv. Flipping through the channels until she came across a random movie. As the movie played she couldn't help but think how her son's life finally started to look up recently. First, he graduated from school and now he finally developed his quirk. Inko had heard of late bloomers before but never this late, but then again it wasn't impossible. Izuku was just one of the rare cases.
Inko hummed happily to herself as she thought about it. Perhaps he could finally go to U.A now too, his dream school. After all that is what her boy wanted for years and he seemed to handle his new quirk quite well. It seemed that he was a talented child and she was proud of him for that. But despite all of that, Inko couldn't help the uneasiness she felt. She hated to admit it but if it was up to her Izuku wouldn't go to U.A. He would take a much less life-threatening job like a teacher or a cook. She knew that that wasn't what he wanted but she was honestly concerned for his wellbeing. After all, being a hero brought lots of risks with it, not to mention it was the job with the current highest death rate.
Inko sighed, she knew she could be as worried as she wanted but in the end, she would only be delaying the inevitable. Being a hero was what he really wanted and what kind of mother would she be if she crushed his dream like that?. Plus the quirk that he had was admittedly a good one and it would be a shame to the heroes if it weren't used. In the end, she got her dream of living a normal life and having a child, so why would she stop his?.
Inko was suddenly drawn out of her thoughts by the beeping of the microwave.
Gojo sighed as he exited the bakery he'd just been in, feeling slightly disappointed. Why in god's name did he have to forget his wallet?. It was at times like this that he truly wished he still had access to his old bank account. Sure, he'd never really cared much about money in the first place, nor did he do much with it anyway but that was back when he was rich and right now he pretty much wasn't. He knew that hence why he made sure that his mother could keep her job. Still, knowing that didn't change the fact that he'd forgotten his wallet.
He sighed once more as he pulled out his phone to check the time, He should've given at least Yuuji access to his bank account before he passed. Now, all that money would never be spent. Oh well, what's done is done, there was no point in crying over spilled milk.
He glanced down at his phone, the time card was currently displaying that it was 15:10. It was around that time when kids would be coming home from school, meaning that the streets would get a lot busier soon. That new realization made Gojo cringe inwardly. Oh god, he was supposed to go to school today, wasn't he?. He did see a school uniform hanging in his new closet after all. If that was the case he really wasn't looking forward to it. He was an adult, after all, he had already learned all of the things that they thought in schools. And he didn't really look forward to sitting through all of those lectures again. But then again, when he came down the stairs this morning dressed in casual clothing his mother didn't say anything. Gojo shrugged, he just made a mental note to ask his mother later when he came home.
With that in mind, Gojo put the phone back into his back pocket, only to stop in the middle of the street when there was a sudden explosion, followed by a loud commotion not too far away from where he was. Well...that was unexpected. Looks like this world wasn't free from bad guys either. Curious, Gojo made his way towards the commotion to see what was going on.
Once he arrived at the scene there were already a bunch of police officers blocking the way, keeping the people who were still there to watch out of the way. Since he was a tad shorter now he couldn't see past the crowd of people. So he forcefully pushed himself through the crowd of people until he stood at the front right behind the police tape. Now he could finally see what was going on. There was some big greenish sludge-like monster holding a kid hostage. The kid was trying to escape by releasing various explosions from his hands but it was of no use. The bad guy's structure made him particularly immune to such things, one would have to be able to take him down in one shot.
There were people dressed in crazy costumes all around the boy and the bad guy but they weren't doing anything to help the boy, instead, they were helping ease the fire that the explosion had caused, and saving people surround by the fire when needed. It was honestly confusing Gojo if anything, not even all of the people were busy helping others, so why weren't they assisting the boy?.
People in the crowd around him were screaming as much, begging for the supposed 'heroes' to help the boy and to get rid of the villain. Gojo had to agree with them, if these guys were supposed heroes why wouldn't they help someone so obviously in need?. Could it be, that much like himself in his past life they wanted to avoid as many casualties as possible?.
When one person in the crowd asked the question that he wanted to know, he instantly focused his attention on them, listening in. Only to frown at the answer. "I'm sorry but we need to wait for someone with a more suitable quirk. We can't do anything more than this with the quirks that we have" one of the heroes said.
These people called themselves heroes when they gave up as easily as that?. If Yuuji was around to hear this he would've been disgusted, that Gojo was sure of. He didn't have any particular powers at first before he ate Sukuna's finger and yet he'd risked his life for Megumi without a second thought. Having heard enough, Gojo decided to take care of this himself. He needed an opportunity to see how he scaled up power-wise in this new world anyway. Sure he had an idea but it was always better to make sure.
With that in mind, Gojo simply hopped over the police tape, easily running past the police officers and heroes that were trying to stop him. "Hey kid, come back!", "Watch out! that guy is dangerous!", "He'll kill you!". Gojo simply ignored the sounds as he finally reached the villain, the villain grinned upon his arrival. "Eager to die are we? Don't worry I'll take care of you soon enough!" The villain screeched as it lunged for him, only to come to a stop as it slammed against a seemingly invisible wall protecting Gojo. "What the?!" The villain screeched as it moved back, inspecting the part of its body that he had attacked Gojo with. Now that he was close enough he could finally execute his plan. "Sorry buddy but you'll have to come with me," Gojo said, an amused grin on his face as he reached out to grab the villain. "Don't you dare-" was all that the villain could make out before they were suddenly teleported away.
The crowd instantly became silent the moment the villain and the two teenagers disappeared, their eyes all opened wide in shock. A teenage boy had just made an entire villain disappear. After another minute of silence, people seemed to finally come to their senses once more. Some were happy, others concerned and others were still in panic. Sure the villain was gone but where was it? was it really dead? and what happened to the boys?. As the crowd went into an uproar once more the surrounding police officers did their best to calm them down. Whilst the remaining heroes proceeded to clean up the scene, providing assistance to anyone that needed it.
A few miles outside of the city stood a more secluded woodsy area, it was the same area where Gojo had fought Jogo back in his old lifetime previously. And now in this world, he would fight here yet again. It was honestly kind of nostalgic for Gojo in a way. It was just too bad that his current companions weren't aware of that knowledge.
The teleportation process caused the villain to drop his hostage when they landed. Gojo didn't hesitate and instantly picked the boy, causing the boy in question to glare daggers at him as he struggled to break free in his grip. "Oi Deku! you son of a bitch let go of me! I can take care of myself dammit!" the boy screamed as the struggling got worse, small explosions escaping from his hands in the process. Gojo, seemingly unfazed by the outburst simply smiled as he lifted the boy up bridal-style in his arms "I'm gonna bring you back buddy so just hold on tight ok?".
That response only seemed to anger the boy in his arms even more. If looks could kill Gojo would have been dead 10 times over right now. "Deku! don't ignore me you basta-!" but Bakugo couldn't finish his sentence as Gojo proceeded to teleport them back to the scene of the crime. Once they landed safely Gojo proceeded to casually drop Bakugo onto the ground, seemingly without a care in the world "Here you go, buddy. Now don't get caught again alright?".
Bakugo stood up, glaring daggers as he approach Gojo, his hands getting ready to fire another round of explosions at any moment. "Deku you lying bastard! You had a quirk this whole time, didn't you?!. All these years you were just pretending to be a wimp to mock me huh?!". Gojo simply shrugged his shoulders, burying his hands into the front pocket of his hoodie "Perhaps I did, perhaps I didn't. Look, I am more than willing to talk this out with you but I have a bad guy to take down at the moment so could you wait for a little bit?. Thanks in advance!".
"I am not waiting for anyone you damn extra! So you'd better-" But once again Bakugo didn't get to finish his sentence as Deku simply teleported away, seemingly without a care in the world.
Bakugo clenched his fists, eyebrow twitching in annoyance. Deku truly was an annoying piece of shit, lying to him like that!. Who did he think that he was?! The dammed extra!. "NEXT TIME I SEE YOU YOUR DEAD! YOU HEAR ME DEKU?!. DEAD!".
Once Gojo came back onto the scene with the sludge villain he couldn't help the small smile that made its way onto his face. He'd honestly been itching for a fight to test his power levels in the world. He would be lying to himself to say that he wasn't at least a little excited. "Sorry, but I had to drop off our little friend at a safe location. Did you wait long?".
The green villain simply snickered. "That fool needed assistance to escape so if anything he wasn't worth my time". The villain's grin widened "If anything you did me a favor by freeing him. You have proven yourself to be stronger so I'd be better of taking over your body instead".
"Mmm-mmm" Gojo hummed in acknowledgment as he casually rocked back and forth on his heels. "You're welcome. Hey quick question though, how would you rate yourself power-wise on a scale of 1 to 10?".
"DIE!" The villain screamed as it lunged itself at him, green goo forming into the arms in the hopes of catching him. Gojo would simply sidestep the villain, causing it to barely pass by him without a scratch. Gojo pouted as he proceeded to easily sidestep another blow that was aimed at his head "You know that it is considered rude to interrupt someone while they're talking right?".
"LIKE I CARE!" The slimy villain screamed as it attacked once more, only this time to be blocked by the 'invisible wall again'. The villain growled as it put more force behind its attacks, only for them to be blocked each time by that 'invisible wall' again as if it were nothing. "DAMMIT! What the hell is your quirk?!".
"Cursed energy" Gojo simply replied as he proceeded to knock the villain back by a few meters with a cursed energy-enhanced punch. "Gah!-" the villain winced as it proceeded to cough up some blood. Half of its body now being completely gone "I-Impossible!. No fiscal punches should be able to hit me!".
Gojo soon followed up with another cursed energy enchanted punch soon after, causing a quarter of the villain's body to disappear. Leaving only the bloody mess that was its 'head'. "Damn you this isn't over!" the villain screeched as it proceeded to regenerate itself.
Having predicted this as a possible outcome, Gojo jumped a few steps back, Quickly gathering bits of cursed energy towards his fingertip.
The villain snickered as it finished regenerating, Feeling that victory was finally upon him. "Heh. What are you going to do with that measly little red ball? Poke my eye out?". Gojo simply smiled as he pointed his index finger at the green creature in front of him "Cursed technique reversal: Red". And before the villain knew it, a bright beam of red shot at him, destroying everything in its wake. completely wiping him from existence. By the time the smoke around the surrounding area cleared up, the only thing that was left behind in the place where the villain stood was a huge crater.
Gojo sighed, running a hand through his green hair "I'll admit, he was weaker than I thought". He proceeded to stretch his arms and legs before casually shoving his hands into the front pocket of his hoodie once more. Even though the villain was weaker than he had first thought, he had at least gotten rid of it without causing any casualties. And at the end of the day, that was all that really mattered, along with finding out that: Yes, he was still quite strong, even in this world. If he was the strongest he didn't know, but he was confident that he would find that out in no time.
"Alright. Time for me to get back home. I wouldn't want my new mother to worry after all". And with that being said Gojo teleported himself back home.
Once he arrived back home and closed the front door behind him, he was instantly greeted with the sight of a slightly pissed of Inko Midoriya. her stern expression didn't seem to waver Gojo at all, however. "Heya mom. It's good to see that you're out and about again. Did you sleep well?". Inko her eyebrow twitched as she proceeded to put her hands on her hips in a stern manner. She may be a tiny woman but she sure as hell wasn't afraid to speak her mind when she really needed to. "Don't you 'Heya mom' me!. Do you have any idea what you did mister?!".
Gojo slightly tilted his head to the side as he thought it over. Thinking of what he might have done that could piss her off so much. Not able to think of anything, in particular, he made a guess "Is this about me calling your workplace?". His mother's gaze hardened "Don't lie to me Izuku, you know very well that I mean that villain that you fought". Gojo smiled, holding up his hands in mock surrender "Hey in my defense that could've been anyone. How did you know that was me anyway?".
Inko simply huffed before pointing towards the tv in the living room. There on the bright screen was a news reporter, standing right in front of the place where he left that huge crater behind. Gojo blinked, his green eyes widening ever so slightly "Wow that was fast. The media sure are scary". In the end, he figured that it must have been the boy that was briefly held hostage by the villain who led them there. And if it wasn't him he simply assumed that it might have been a hero with some kind of tracking quirk. Either way, he was screwed. Since he'd prefer to have kept himself out of the public eye. At least for a while longer.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was when I saw the live broadcast of you taking off with that villain?!" Inko yelled, folding her arms over her chest. Gojo couldn't help but blink once more, a hint of surprise clearly evident on his face "That was live?". That was truly unexpected, he could've sworn that he didn't see any reporters yet when he'd arrived on the scene back then.
"It doesn't matter if it was live or not, what matters is you recklessly putting your life in danger like that!. There were pro heroes already at the scene for goodness sake!. They could have handled everything" Inko said matter of factly. This caused Gojo to frown, his smile disappearing completely "If I had left everything to these 'pro heroes' as you said, the kid that the villain held captive could have died. They didn't even try mom. If you'd been there you would've seen that".
Inko snorted "Even if that was the case, you putting your life at risk like that was not necessary. I know that you think that you're invincible right now because of your new quirk but trust me. You aren't. You are human, You could die at any moment". Gojo sighed, running a hand through his hair once more before meeting her stern gaze with one of his own. Not backing down. "Trust me, I am very well aware of the potential consequences. I know where you are coming from, I really do. But trust me, I know what I am doing".
Inko sighed, knowing that he was right. She couldn't argue with that "Alright. Alright, I believe you. But don't think that you are off the hook just yet mister because you are grounded for a week!". Gojo inwardly snickered, he could teleport and she knew that. So how was she expecting to keep him detained?. Not that he would mention that out loud of course. It was his free ticket to freedom after all.
Gojo then pouted, doing the best innocent puppy eye look that he could muster "I defeated a villain all by myself you know. Don't I at least deserve a little praise?". Inko snorted, not being able to hold in her laughter. She'd never seen her son act like this before but she would be lying to herself if she said that she didn't find it funny "No, No you don't. And stop looking at me like that, you look silly. Now any requests for dinner".
Gojo grinned, Immediately having a pep in his step at the thought of freshly made food. He hadn't really had the chance to eat anything yet all day other than breakfast this morning "I'll say, I'm starving. How about some takoyaki?". Inko smiled before she made her way towards the kitchen "Takoyaki coming right up!".
After his mother had disappeared into the kitchen to make dinner Gojo casually kicked off his red sneakers by the door and headed towards the living room. He just barely planted his butt onto the couch when the doorbell suddenly rang. "Izuku could you get the door?" his mom shouted from the kitchen. "Got it" he'd replied it. He may have sounded happy on the outside but on the inside, he was a little annoyed. he was finally able to sit down after a whole day of walking and now someone just had to interrupt him again didn't they?. The universe really hated him sometimes.
The moment he opened the front door he was immediately greeted by a swarm of reporters and bright flashing lights of their cameras. They all started throwing random questions at him the moment he'd opened the door, pointing their microphones in his face. Seriously, didn't any of these guys know was personal space was?. "Is it true that Izuku Midoriya is your name?", "Is it true that you defeated that villain all by yourself", "You are only 15 correct?", "Izuku! Could you tell us if you will be attending U.A or not?", "Izuku-". Gojo had slammed the front door in their faces before they could yet ask another question.
It was by this point that Inko had come out of the kitchen curious to see what was going on, only to find her son standing with his back against the front door, looking somewhat horrified. Immediately a wave of concern washed over her face "Izuku who was that at the door?".
He slowly met her gaze his green eyes still as round as plates "Trust me, You don't want to know".
The reporters just wouldn't leave them alone until Gojo finally had enough and managed to chase them away by oozing out his murderous intent. Every time he'd encounter a nosy reporter on the street after that he'd glare at them with so much killing intent until it send them running for the hills. Needless to say that by the end of the week almost all reporters in Tokyo had a particular 15-year-old boy with green hair on their 'avoid at all cost' list.
PHEW- finally done! ^w^
