AN: Yes, yes, I know, I should be creating Opposites Attracted. It will be up tomorrow, but I needed to write this. It started when I was working on some synonym review sheets and was told to find a synonym for enough. I looked it up in my trusty thesaurus and found Adequate. Here is the story…

"Are your rooms adequate?" He asked calmly.

"Of course, they're perfect." I replied.

My name is Hermione Granger. During the war my parents were killed. I had no where else to go, so I asked Dumbledore about staying at Hogwarts. He told me that he had made arrangements to stay at Professor Snape's house in Spinner's End. I was astonished, but went, hoping that my crush on the Professor would not cause any harm.

"What would you like for dinner?" Snape asked, ready to flick his wand to make whatever I asked for.

"I don't know Professor. You choose." I replied. With a wave of his wand, he created a pot of spaghetti.

He turned to me, "Hermione, I told you to call me Severus - you are no longer my student." It was true that I wasn't his student anymore, but I wanted to be, so that I could sit in his classes and stare at him longingly.

"Fine, Severus," I snapped.

Severus scooped the spaghetti onto plates and brought them to the small, two person table. He waved his wand again and a variety of different drinks appeared. I chose some red wine.

"Are you sure that is what you want Hermione?" Severus asked quietly, contemplating what might happen if he followed suit and ended up getting drunk. If he did, he certainly wouldn't be able to keep his hands off her.

"I'm sure." I said with a confident voice.

Severus poured two glasses of wine and handed one to me. I drank it quickly and poured myself another. Severus looked at me with raised eyebrows, as he too poured himself another glass.

A few glasses later things became interesting. Severus was actually talking to me, telling me things about himself that I had never known, that perhaps only Dumbledore had ever known.

Suddenly Severus asked loudly, "Is your host adequate?"

"My host? Oh, you mean Severus Snape? Yes, he's perfect." I replied, under the influence of the alcohol.

Severus was jolted, as if what I had said had awaken a part of his brain that wasn't drunk.

"You do know that I am Severus Snape." He said, sobering up a little.

"Yes. I love Severus Snape." I said, after I was suddenly jolted to realization. This was Snape I was talking to - I told him that I loved him!

"Hermione," He shook me, "Are you still drunk?"

"No Severus I'm perfectly fine, and I know exactly what I'm saying." I replied, knowing that if I didn't tell the truth he would sense it eventually.

"You love me?" He asked quietly.

"Yes, I've loved you for two years, but you've never let anyone get close to you." I told him, baring my soul's secret.

"Merlin...that's as long as I've loved you." Severus whispered, as he stroked my hair.

I couldn't believe it, all my wildest dreams were coming true.

"Hermione…" Severus began as he stood up.

"Yes." I answered, as I stood up as well.

"I…" Severus was cut off by my lips closing over his and my arms wrapping around his neck. He pulled me in closer and deepened the kiss.

As we were kissing, I pulled Severus away to my bedroom.

Hours later, we lay on the bed.

Severus again asked, "Is your host adequate?"

"I can't express that in words." I told him and cupped his face with my hand and kissed him again. Severus' hands creeped up my stomach and danced on my chest.

"Is your visitor adequate?" I asked him.

Severus just smiled and kissed me deeply, prying my mouth open with his tongue.
