A/N: Hey all! I wrote this yesterday was was going to wait to post it until I had something more to add but decided to post it now. If your wondering I'm thinking about setting this after Reflections but I'm not sure. I have an idea on where I want to take this so crosses fingers I'll have something else up soon. Please review and tell me what you think! It makes me all happy inside. :)
Walking down the steps Elizabeth sees someone standing looking out at the water. She stops and looks at him for a moment. She'd know who it was by the feeling of her heart rate speeding up if the black leather jacket and jeans didn't give it away. She slowly walks down the rest of the steps. Stopping a few feet from him she bites her bottom lip trying to decide what she should say. By the tense set of his solders she could tell something was wrong.
"Hi." 'Real original there Webber' she thinks as Jason turns towards her and she takes a few more steps closer to him. "What's wrong?"
'What isn't wrong these days?' he thinks but says "Nothing."
"Jason?" She reaches out and touches his arm. "You know you can talk to me."
Sighing he nods and turns towards the bench. Following his lead she sits down next to him. After a few moments he looks back towards the water.
"Sam left me in jail last night."
She blinks at him. Okay, that was one she didn't see coming. "What? Why? Didn't Justus.."
"She sent him home," he says cutting her off. "She said I needed time to cool down."
"Because of Emily and Sonny."
"Yeah." Reaching over Elizabeth took his hand. "I just..I don't understand how he could.." He takes a deep breath and gathers his thoughts. "He says he loves her. But if he loved her then how can he stay with her? Knowing that she is in danger everyday because of him."
"I..I don't know." Before she has a chance to say anymore Jason's cell phone rings. Taking it out he glares at it before hitting the talk button.
"Morgan." He walks a few feet away and Elizabeth looks out at the water. She glances at Jason and catches him rubbing his temples. "Okay, I'll be right there." He looks back at her and she stands up. "I'm sorry, I've got to go."
"Its okay. I have to get to work anyway." She gives him a sloppy grin.
"I'd offer you a ride but..."
"Its okay. Go. It was nice to talk with you again. Kinda like the old times." She stops and thinks a moment. "Only this time your the one talking to me about what's going wrong in your life." She looks up and gives him another smile. "Its a nice change." She lets out a tiny giggle, relieved to see a small smile on Jason's face. "I'll see you later Jas." Before he has a change to say anything else she walks away. Suddenly the day isn't looking as bad as it was twenty minutes ago.
