Goin' KABOOM!

Chapter 2: The Friday Before

A few days later

It was Friday afternoon in Amity Park.

School had let out and many people were eager to leave and start their weekends, especially since it was going to be a three day weekend and many were excited about not dealing with their obnoxious classmates or lame teachers who play favorites.

However, one of them was not so excited about this upcoming weekend.

It was Sam Manson, who was going with her parents to visit her maternal grandparents, who also happen to live on the other side of the state and they were too similar to her parents, a contrast to her Grandmother Ida.

In other words, not people she gets along with.

"What fun..."Sam said sarcastically. "What I wouldn't give for Skulker to attack me right now..."She muttered bitterly.

"Easy Sam, it might be more fun than you think..."Danny said and the goth rolled her eyes.

"And Paulina's gotten an A in science on her own..."Sam said sarcastically, since she doubts such a thing was possible.

"Hey, don't be so pessimistic. It beats school and detention..."Tucker said, still eager to get home and get ready for the game convention he and his folks were going to.

"You're one to talk since you're going to a game convention while I'm going to be stuck with the people responsible for everything that's wrong with my mom until Monday..."Sam shot back at him.

All the while, Danny was feeling a bit down about them going out of town. He still wasn't looking forward to spending his three day weekend by himself but knew he had no way around it.

All he could hope is he could enjoy his time somehow and find a way to have fun until they return on Monday.

"At least I should try to find something fun to do..."He said, not wanting to be bored the whole time.

What he'll do, he's not sure yet but he hoped it would be interesting.

Later

Danny and Tucker brought Sam to her house and her parents wasted no time in taking her in before they could even bid her goodbye or just to get her away from her friends.

Most likely the latter.

"They still hate us?..." Tucker asked.

"They do..." Danny answered, not surprised.

The Mansons were far from accepting of lower class people, especially her daughter's friends, whom they once believed were the reason she was acting out. It never dawned on them they were just that obnoxious to her.

Anyway, after that, Danny and Tucker went to his house and the techno-geek eagerly got his things and packed for the trip to the game convention, for which he leaves him for tonight.

Danny was now on his own, meaning his lackluster weekend is now starting.

"Wonderful, it's just me..."Danny thought sarcastically before he sighed. "Oh well, better get going..."He thought as he decided to do a quick patrol to kill time.

It wasn't much, but it was something. He quickly went into an alley and changed forms, deciding that he'd rather fly than walk right now.

The ghost boy frowned as he saw nothing so far.

"Really hope something interesting happens soon..."He thought, wanting anything to get his mind off his boredom.

Meanwhile

Across town

While the ghost boy went on patrol, a new family had just moved to Amity Park.

A normal looking family of four had just purchased a normal looking, two story house with a garden in bloom and a white picket fence around it.

"Here we are..."The father said as he carried some boxes inside.

"Our new home..."The mother said, feeling optimistic.

"Looks weird..."The only son said befode his parents frowned that remark.

"Now Tinker, be nice. We live here now..."The father said, chastising him..

The daughter and eldest child, however, was not as eager as her parents about this place being their new home.

"I hate this place already..."She muttered, since this move happened against her wishes.

She had argued with her parents about it for hours but it didn't change the fact that it was going to happen.

Her parents sold the house, packed their things, got in the truck and moved them all out here to Amity Park.

She looked around the neighborhood and frowned. It was barely different from back home and it made her more homesick.

"Lame, I so want out..."She muttered, still upset about this whole thing.

"Now Princess, you might make some new friends here, someone like that Jared fella or whoever..."Her father said in an encouraging way.

His daughter only rolled her eyes at that.

"I doubt that..."She muttered.

Jared was an ex-boyfriend of hers. He was attractive admittedly and Katie used to be into him but things between then were getting boring and repetitive.

Jared was a total poser and smooth operator who didn't care that much for her or her opinions.. Not to mention, he was always late for their dates and cared more about his looks and saving a buck when he can, which is why he always came late on their dates.

Honestly, she was surprised she ever liked him and agreed to go out with him. She regrets it and wants to move on from him, hopefully with someone who is better than her ex and who didn't just see her as a pretty face.

"Anyone is better than him..."She muttered under his breath, pouting at the thought of her ex-boyfriend.

"Now, now...don't be too negative..."Her mother said, wanting to change her daughter's mind as she began to bring some things inside the new house.

The teenage girl groaned dramatically before picking a box up, intending to find some privacy.

"At least I have my own room..."She muttered as she grabbed some of her items and went to her new room, hoping it at least has a lock and a big enough closet for her stuff.

She already knew that she wasn't going to like this place called Amity Park and nothing will change her mind.

At least, that's what she thought right now.

With Danny

The ghost boy was still soaring in the air, trying to find something to do.

"Nothing yet so far, not even a purse snatcher. Maybe I can head home or something..."He thought before his ghost sense went off and a familiar "Beware" was heard.

"BEWARE! FOR I, THE BOX GHOST, SHALL TAKE THESE BOXES FROM THIS TRUCK!..."Was heard coming from a nearby street.

Danny rolled his eyes.

"Why couldn't it have been Technus or something?..."He thought in annoyance as he went to go take care of this, and fast.

All the while, he was unaware of what's about to happen to change his tune.
