Goin' KABOOM!

Chapter 6: Afterwards

Katie was now home, still thinking over her date, especially the end...and the kisses she shared with Danny.

She bit her lower lip and could still taste and feel his lips on hers. It made her giddy as she remembered the feelings she experienced earlier.

"That was the best date of my life..."She said blissfully, touching her lips.

She had a wonderful time with Danny and even got to kiss him. Sure, it had been an accident, but she's not complaining.

Not in the slightest.

That feeling would not leave her mind, not that she wanted it to.

"He's such a good kisser!..."She thought, blushing deeply.

That kiss replayed in her mind over and over again and she lost track of how many times. It might not have been her first kiss but it was the best and she was sure that he enjoyed it too, from how shy and quiet he was when she finished.

The blonde girl sighed as she barely noticed her parents or brother who were cowering behind the couch as the teenage girl just went to her room, practically humming as she was too distracted by what happened.

"This is weird...she didn't go Kaboom..."Tinker whispered while he and his folks watched in bewilderment as she skipped around.

He thought for sure that his sister would have gotten mad and wreck the place, but nothing happened.

He also noticed that she was oddly happy and she was humming as she headed upstairs. The little boy raised a brow at that.

"Is she sick?..."Tinker questioned, confused.

"I don't know..."Mrs. Kaboom said, having a feeling that her daughter might be feeling different. "I think she's... happy. I guess the date went well..."She said to her husband, hoping for the best for her daughter.

"That's good...I suppose..."Mr. Kaboom said, not sure how to feel about how out of character she was.

At the very least, their new house was still in one piece... so far.

In Katie's Room

The blonde girl was now in her bedroom, still on cloud 9 over the date she had been on with Danny.

"Oh Danny~..."She said blissfully as she pulled out her diary.

She sighed dreamily as she wrote down the events of the date, starting with lunch. She put down everything she could remember, especially the kiss.

The best part of the day...even if it was an accident.

Her smile grew as she replayed the whole date in her head again.

"I can't stop thinking about how that kiss went. I wonder if he's thinking about it too..."She mused before giggling as she thought about him.

He's just wonderful. He is so adorable and shy. Sure, he is a little skinny and didn't have a lot of muscles, but she didn't need some muscle-head. She wants someone real and genuine, not to mention nice.

Plus, she didn't want another Jared.

Danny was nothing like that and it was a huge relief. He's a great guy and she was really beginning to fall for him and could only hope he felt the same way for her.

As she continued writing in her dairy, she wrote down her thoughts on Danny and how ideal he was.

"Cute, shy, sweet, a gentleman, funny and a good kisser. He's definitely the perfect package for me!..."She thought as she recalled that part of the date again.

Sure, the kiss was kind of an accident but she is not complaining. Plus, she enjoyed it and Danny was still a gentleman, even after that.

She could tell how shy and speechless he was from that kiss. It made him more adorable to her.

She smiled once more, looking forward to seeing him again and she might have found a boyfriend in him. She could definitely see that happening pretty soon... at least she hoped so, as she already liked him and wanted to see him again.

The sooner, the better.

"And I didn't even want to come to Amity Park, HA!..."She thought, laughing about how silly she was before.

She put that thought away as she decided to take a shower after her day out and get ready for bed.

She hoped to dream about Danny too.

With Danny

The ghost boy made it home with time to spare, due to no ghost detours on the way. It was a nice change of pace for his double life.

He knew that his parents were still out chasing Z-list ghosts that he did not need to worry about, so he went upstairs to the bathroom without getting seen in order to clean up.

His mind was still on his unforgettable date with Katie.

The ghost boy and was still baffled by the experience he just had. He and Katie had gone out on a date and while it was pleasant and fun for the most part, it ended with her kissing him and covering him in her lipstick.

He honestly did not expect it and wasn't sure what to think or how to feel about it. He was conflicted about the whole situation and just knew he needed to wash up from what happened.

He knew he didn't hate it but did he like it?

"I mean, I didn't hate it...but I'm not sure I liked it that much. She sure liked it at least, that much was obvious. Anyway, I better get this stuff off my face..."He thought as he went to the bathroom to wipe the lipstick off of him.

His face was still flushed as he wiped off the kisses she left on him, hoping to get it all off before anyone of his family came home and sees him in this state.

"I just hope I didn't miss a spot..."He thought, not wanting any physical evidence and be teased by either his parents or sister.

He wasn't ready to explain to his parents about his date with Katie or they would want to meet her or try to convince him to give her a class ring with Sam's name in it.

"I wonder where Sam put that thing anyways..."Danny thought for a moment, before he shook that away and went back to washing his face.

He's conflicted with his feelings for Katie and that kiss.

He still remembered that look Katie gave him before she locked lips with him and how she acted while doing it. It seemed... crazy and it was certainly something that Danny had never experienced before. He also remembered how it made him feel inside from her embrace.

Yet, he didn't dislike it. There were positives... but also something else. He just didn't know the exact words for it.

"I guess... it was neat..." He said to himself.

He wasn't sure what else there was to say about it. As he finished rubbing his face, he looked into the mirror and saw that the lipstick markings were gone.

The ghost boy didn't know else what to do, as he chose to resolve this issue later and go on patrol for ghosts and also look for that monster.

While Danny was patrolling the town at night, he spent most of the time thinking about Katie as he was still not entirely sure what to think about her.

He didn't know that things would be going in a different route soon.

The Next Day

Danny had woken up, brushed his teeth, showered and got dressed for the day. He went down and had some cereal for breakfast, his mind still on the events from yesterday.

First, after his date, he spent hours looking and found nothing. No sign of anything remotely resembling the creature, not even a bit of green. All he saw was his parents chasing down the box ghost again. Not a surprise.

Outside of them, nothing. Whatever it was, it's gone.

Then... there was what happened with Katie.

He is still in disbelief that Katie had kissed him like that and wondered if he should see her again. He wondered if that was even a good idea right now.

Would he be happy... or not?

"She did smother me with a lot of kisses..."He thought as he munched on his cereal, his mind was still on the pretty blonde girl who kissed him senselessly last night.

Danny also remembered what Katie slipped in his back pocket, she left him her number and told him to call her... which the ghost boy was having a hard time deciding weather to do it or not.

"Should I call her or not? Or would it be considered rude not too? How soon do you call after a date...a day?..."He thought to himself. "I'm pretty sure she likes me and I think I like her. I mean, I think I do...It should be fine, right?..."He considered, still a little confused.

He wished that he had an answer. That kiss, while not the worst thing he's experienced, left him feeling unsure.

Before he could think about it any further, his parents arrived in their usual eccentric selves in the morning.

Once Danny saw them entering the kitchen, he immediately stuffed the phone number back in his pocket and the ghost boy went out to avoid his parents questions and went outside to avoid any embarrassment from his folks. He even finished his breakfast quickly so his parents wouldn't get the chance to ask him what he did last night

Anyway, no sooner than that, his ghost sense activated.

"Oh brother, let's get this over with..."He thought as he went to go find a place to transform and deal with it.

He'll deal with his confusing feelings for a certain blonde girl later.

Meanwhile

At The Kaboom residence

Katie's parents and brother were already at the table, having breakfast but their daughter had yet to grace them with her presence.

"Katie? Katie darling?..."Mrs. Kaboom called for her daughter. "Breakfast is ready..."She called again.

"Coming, Mother..."Katie's voice was heard from upstairs.

The blonde girl, now showered, dressed and got ready for her day, came down stairs and joined her family at the table.

"Good morning, wonderful family..."Katie said sweetly upon arrival.

"Good morning, Princess..."Her dad said as she took her usual seat.

"Sleep well?..."Her mother asked as she placed a stack of waffles in front of her.

"Yeah, I did. Like a baby..."Katie said in a calm voice as she began to eat.

She didn't tell them that the reason she overslept was because of her staying up late and thinking about Danny...or dreaming about him.

"Even in my dreams, he's a sweet gentleman, who's also a really good kisser!~..."The blonde girl thought, blushing brightly as she remembered the rest of her dream.

She sighed as she thought of the one who made her heart flutter.

"Danny..."She thought happily as she thought more about him.

He's just wonderful and she still can't believe that she got to kiss him and hold him in her arms. Numerous times even.

And if she was being honest with herself...she wanted to kiss him again.

"I wanna see him again...Maybe I'll get the chance...if I can meet up with him..."She thought as she kept eating, wondering when she was going to see him again.

She also wondered if she should try a different coat of lip gloss this time as she almost counted the minutes until she saw him again.

Later

Danny just finished sucking the Box Ghost in the thermos and was sealing it.

"YOU CANNOT TRAP ME IN A CYLINDRICAL CONTAINER CAUSE I AM THE BOX GHOST!..."The Box Ghost yelled as he was sucked inside.

"He really needs to get a girlfriend ..."He said as he put the thermos in his bag.

He soon landed in an alley and powered down, and was now in his human form. He walked out and decided maybe he should grab a bite to eat.

Suddenly, his phone rang and he saw that it was Tucker. He quickly answered it.

"Hello..."Danny said.

"Hey Danny, guess who gonna be home on Monday..."Tucker greeted.

"Is it a vegan who hates technology?..." Danny asked jokingly.

"Not in this lifetime!..." Tucker laughed "So, anything interesting going on with you?..."He asked.

Danny paused, not sure what to say.

"I don't know if I should tell him..."He thought cautiously as he recalled that kiss.

Danny didn't want Tucker to get jealous of him and to be honest, Danny didn't really know what he was going on with the pretty blonde girl.

Yeah, she wasn't like any girl that Danny had dated before but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She did want to kiss him and seemed to like his presence.

Still, he didn't know what to think about her or what happened.

"She's pretty strange and not just because of the kisses..."He thought certainly.

"Dude, are you still there?..."Tucker asked, snapping Danny out of his train of thought as he was silent for too long.

"Yeah, sorry...I got distracted by something..." Danny said quickly, clearing his throat.

If Tucker was suspicious, Danny wouldn't be able to find out...but thankfully, he bought it and the two kept talking.

"Anyway... I got tons to tell you when I get back!..."Tucker said.

"Cool...I'm glad to hear that you'll be back soon and when Sam gets back, the three of us should hang out and play DOOM or something..."Danny said to his best friend.

"Sounds like a plan, Dude. Anyway, I'll call you back. Later..."He said before hanging up

Once done, the ghost boy put his phone back in his pocket as he kept thinking about Katie and that giant monster.

"Maybe I should have told Tucker about that monster thing..."He thought but decided against it. "Nah, he'll probably insist we catch it and then show it to people for a buck..."He mused before walking away.

The ghost boy then smiled to himself as he kept walking.

"Maybe a day to myself is what I need after last night..."He thought as he kept walking.

However, he soon heard a voice that pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Danny?..."A feminine voice was heard.

Danny turned around and was surprised to see Katie.

"Katie?..."He said, a little confused but happy as the blonde girl approached him.

"Hi..."He said, confused at her presence.

"Wow, didn't think I'd see you here. And I was just thinking about you too..." Katie said without any embarrassment admitting it.

Danny couldn't help but wonder what she meant by that. Then he started to get worried.

"Were you... looking for me?..."He asked in a bit of a panic, but she shook her head and it went away.

"No, I was just doing some errands and I just saw the big sign that said "Fenton Works" on your house and heard people in town talking about the Fentons... I just put two and two together..."She explained as she gestured to the sign.

"Oh..." Danny said, feeling somewhat relieved.

Katie then decided to satisfy her curiosity on his house and ask the following question.

"Kind of hard to get some privacy with a literal sign on your house, don't you think?..." She asked.

"Not my choice... and the room where it's attached is mine..."He muttered.

Katie raised a brow at that, as that didn't sound like a good place for sleep.

"It is? How do you sleep at night when it lights up?..." She asked.

"You get used to it..." Danny muttered. "So, how's it going?..."He asked.

"Good, good. No complaints..."Katie said before she looked at the building again.

"So...uh...what is this? What do your parents do, odd jobs or something..."She asked again.

Danny heard this and answered with a groan.

"My parents are ghost hunters..."He said in embarrassment and Katie just stood still for a moment.

"Well, it explains the giant metal thing on his roof..."She thought before looking at Danny.

"Well, at least their job's aren't boring..."She said in a rather joking way before thinking about it a moment. "That sounds kinda cool actually..."She admits and Danny did a double take.

"She's not making fun of me. She doesn't think they're weird..."He thought, glad that she didn't make fun of him like most of the other kids at school did, once they knew about his family...with the exception of Sam and Tucker.

It was... a relief to him, since he's used to people making cracks about his family.

"Just so you know, they're not the filming at a haunted house kind, they're the run after while shooting with special guns kind..."He said.

"At least they get their exercise..."She said, making him chuckle a bit.

"That's true..."He thought, figuring his dad could use it.

The two teens laughed together before one remembered something they needed to do.

"Here goes nothing..."Katie thought as she took a deep breath and spoke.

"So... Danny? I know it's soon but... I had such a fun time that, since I still don't know that much about Amity Park and you're the first person I've meet, would you like to go on a second date?..."Katie asked, standing cutely as she spoke to the dark haired boy.

"You really want another date with me?..."Danny asked in a surprised tone.

"If I didn't then I wouldn't have asked..."Katie said, giggling.

"Even if my family is weird and has what looks like a spaceship on the roof?..."He asked as he reminded her of the sign she just saw.

Katie just shrugged.

"You did say you're used to it and I have seen weirder stuff before..."She admitted before going back to her question. "So, what do you say?..."She asked again, smiling cutely once more.

Danny mentally judged the idea.

One on hand, Katie is really nice and awfully cute. On the other hand, she seems a bit too excited to see him and want a second date with him.

He looked at Katie and saw the hopeful look in her eyes, noticing the twinkle in them. He is still on the fence as he thought more about it.

"She is pretty and she does want to go out again. Do I want a second date, though?..."He thought, still not sure about it as he noticed that she might be a little clingy.

He recalled their date last night and it wasn't bad at all. It's just so sudden and that kiss was out of nowhere, but maybe he is over analyzing things just a bit.

"I'm probably overthinking what happened yesterday, it must have been a spur of the moment kind of thing. That's it..."He though, believing it.

So, he decided to answer.

"Sure..."He said, exciting the blonde girl who smiled.

"Great!..."Katie said, smiling prettily at him.

"So, where and when?..."He asked curiously.

"I have to run more errands for my family today, so how about tomorrow?..."She suggested.

Danny thought about it and nodded.

"Okay, I'd like that..."He said after a moment and Katie smiled.

"Awesome!..."She said, eager for tomorrow.
