Goin' KABOOM!
Chapter 7: The Second Date
The Next Day
Monday
Danny soon left his house, heading to where he was going to have his second date with Katie. Today, Katie and him are going to the bowling alley and they agreed to meet there at 1 in the afternoon.
However, the ghost boy was still on edge from not finding that green monster but also getting ready for his date today. He didn't want to blow it. Plus, he didn't know when or where that thing will attack again.
"I'll spend the rest of the day looking for it, I just want some peace and quiet today..."He said to himself, as he kept going.
His mind went back to yesterday and he blushed again when he thought back to that kissed they had and part of him is still unsure if Katie realized what she did or if it was a spur of the moment thing...or if he just imagined her being more amorous than she really was or that he just imagined the whole thing all together.
Either way, his face was still blushing as he thought about it.
"I can still feel her lips..."He thought, touching the lips again, remembering how it felt to being kissed by Katie the first time.
However, he is still not sure he felt uncomfortable with how bold she was or liked it as much as she did.
Danny was a little bit nervous for his date, considering how their first date ended and he couldn't tell if his heart was beating quicker because of his nerves or his excitement.
Either way, he began walking to the bowling alley, not wanting to be late again and have Katie thinking he is a flake.
"Either way, I got to go and find a place to transform, just to be safe. Monster hunt can come later..."He thought as he decided to find a place to go ghost.
A little later
Thanks to flying, Danny arrived to the bowling alley five minutes early.
Now, he was waiting for his date to show up.
"I wonder if bringing one flower was okay for her, after I already gave her a bouquet from their first date..."He thought as he now had a single rose in his hand, since he could only afford one and roses aren't cheap.
However, as Danny was busy thinking to himself, someone called out to him.
"Danny!..."Was heard.
Danny turned around and saw that it was Tucker.
He smiled.
"Hey Tucker..."Danny said, happy to see him. "When did you get home?..."He asked.
"A little while ago, I was just on my way to eat..."Tucker said, happy to see his best friend.
The Gaming Convention was sadly cut short before the final event, due to some unforeseen circumstances that may have been caused by two people, who's heads seemed to be the size of two white laboratory mice but the techno geek didn't believe that weird rumor...mostly since he never saw them in person.
They just made a break for it before vanishing from the area and the tech geek just left home feeling a little disappointed that he get some more new video games that had been on sale at the time.
However, he is home now and with his best friend now, so that's something.
"So, man...wanna go to the Nasty Burger and hang out? Maybe catch a flick or hang out at the arcade and Play Doomed 4: A new apocalypse?..."Tucker suggested, since he figured that his half ghost friend was probably missing him and Sam when they left.
Danny wanted to say yes to his offer, but recalled that Katie was on her way and he didn't want to ditch his plans with her to hang out with his friends.
He didn't want to act just like some certain A-listers that he knew personally and had to say no, even if he did missed his friend.
"Actually, I can't...I already made plans today. So why don't make a rain check?..."Danny said, confusing his best friend.
"Why? Something going on around town, like a ghost?..."Tucker asked, wondering why his friend was acting so nervous that it almost looked like he was sweating a little.
Danny felt a little awkward and decided to come clean and just tell his friend straight out. Even if Tucker wouldn't believe it.
"Actually...I...uh...have a date..."He said, a bit flustered.
"You do?..."Tucker exclaimed, shocked to hear that.
"Don't sound so surprised, Tucker. I'm not totally invisible to girls..."Danny said, as he made a small pun.
"Who is she?..."Tucker asked, still surprised since almost every girl in Amity Park weren't even remotely interested in the two of them and now his best friend has suddenly got himself a date.
"Her name is Katie and she and family just moved here about the same day you and Sam left. She's new to town, I met her at the park and she asked if I could show her around town...then things happened and we went out..." Danny explained, though he left out a few details that he'll tell his best friend about later.
Like how there's a big green rampaging monster loose in Amity Park, that's also a master at hiding it's presence... or the kissing
"And you said yes, right?..." Tucker asked, as the ghost boy nodded his head.
"Yeah, of course I did..."Danny said. "And I somehow managed to get a second date with her today..."He said, not sure why Tucker looked the way he did.
Feeling like he missed out on something, Tucker was bummed but tried to play it cool.
"So, what's Katie like? Is she pretty and does she have a twin sister?..."The tech geek asked.
Before Danny could answer, someone walked into the scene and approached them. It was Katie, who quickly spotted Danny and wanted to give him a special greeting.
"Hey, you..."She said sweetly as she planted a kiss on his cheek.
Danny blushed deeply as he placed his hand on his cheek while Tucker's jaw dropped.
"Hey Katie..."Danny said a little nervously while the blonde girl giggled, finding his shyness to be cute.
"So, ready to go?..."She said before noticing the other boy who was staring at them slack-jawed.
"Danny, who is this?..."Katie asked curiously, wondering who the kid in glasses is and if they knew each other.
Danny sighed as he explained things quickly.
"Katie, this is my best friend, Tucker. Tucker...this is Katie..."Danny said, introducing the two.
Katie, upon hearing that they are friends, smiled as she offered to shake his hand.
"Oh, hi. It's nice to meet you..."Katie said sweetly, wanting to make a good first impression.
Tucker was still a little gobsmacked by his best friends luck with girls and stared blankly at them.
He snapped out of it and awkwardly returned the greeting.
"Yeah, you too..."He said, doing his best not to look stupid as he was getting over how cute Katie looked as she shook his hand.
He still found this hard to believe that Danny scored a date with this hot blonde girl but he tried to be polite and be a supportive best friend...and not sound too jealous at his friend's luck.
"So, how long have you known Danny?..."Tucker asked as he sent a look, wondering if Danny had been doing something secretly and secretly still wondering if Katie has a twin sister or not.
The blonde girl grinned as she told him the story of how she met Danny.
"Well, my family just moved here, so not too long. I was out exploring this place and I got a little lost in the park before I bumped into Danny and wound up going on a date with him the very next day. Can you believe our luck?..."Katie explained, looking happy as she did so.
"Wow... Cool..."Tucker said, astonished by his best friends luck before he decided to be supportive. "Well, Danny's a great guy, I've known him since forever..."Tucker said and Katie smiled.
"Oh, I know. He was such a gentleman during out first date too..."She said, making Danny look sheepish now.
Seeing the shy look on the ghost boy's face, Katie took this chance to link arms with him. As the techno geek saw the affection this girl was giving Danny, he decided to let them be for now as he didn't want to be a third wheel here.
"Well, I'll see you around, Dude...have fun on your date. Nice meeting you, Katie..."Tucker said, as he secretly gave his friend the "tell me more later" look.
"See ya, Tuck..."Danny said as Katie took him by the arm and they left.
The techno geek felt happy for them, as a one thought crossed his mind.
"I go out of town for one weekend and he manages to get a hot girlfriend..."He muttered in jealousy before letting it go.
However, he suddenly recalled another girl who also liked Danny and he also knew how she might react if she ever caught wind of this.
He gulped.
"I am so glad that Sam is still out of town right now..."He thought, knowing that things will go bad when she learns about this. "And I'm also glad that I have nothing to do with him finding a potential new girlfriend, who knows what she would if that actually happened..."He shivered, since that wouldn't have ended well for him in any possible scenario.
He shook that thought out of his head and was heading home, so that he could relax with his new game and other stuff he got at the Gaming Convention.
With Danny and Katie
Danny and Katie were walking side by side together until Danny recalled something that he had brought for her.
"Oh Katie, this is for you..."He said as he smiled and handed the rose he got her.
"Here you go..." He said, handing her the rose.
Katie blushed happily before she gave Danny a look, that he was slowly getting familiar with. The kind that made him smile shyly.
"You're such a sweetheart, Danny..."She said, happy to receive it.
Danny smiled and mentally congratulated himself as they continued their walk.
"What a guy!..."Katie thought in a love-struck way as she motioned closer to him.
"And this is for you..."She said sweetly as she planted another kiss to his other cheek.
Danny blushed again, feeling Katie's lips on his face sent a shock to his system. One that made him sigh as he actually kind of enjoyed it that time.
"Katie..."He thought as the two teens soon arrived to the bowling alley for their date.
"So...come on, ladies first..."Danny said, as he held the door opened for her
"Thank you, Danny..."She said, giggling as she walked in.
Once the ghost boy walked in, the blonde girl immediately smiled widely.
"Well...what are we waiting for? Let's have some fun together!..."Katie said, still holding onto his arm and dragging him in.
"Whoa! She's pretty eager and strong..."Danny thought, surprised by how strong her pull is but didn't see a problem with it. "I guess she does some exercises to stay fit..."He thought as their second date began.
