Chapter 8: The Second Date Part 2

Danny and Katie made it to their lane. They would be playing at lane #7 and while Katie started putting their information for their game, Danny was busy putting on his bowling shoes.

He is still nervous about being here, especially after he noticed that was glancing at him every so often, and he pretended not to look. While he still liked her, he was starting to have second thoughts about this.

"Is it just me or is this a little soon for us to be out again? Especially considering..."He thought as he recalled that kiss and blushed deeper.

A kiss a part of him still isn't sure happened or was just some fantasy.

"So, Danny...didn't you say that bowling is one of your hobbies?..."Katie said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Oh..um...yeah, it's something I do to make ou-..I MEAN... to pass the time with my friends..."Danny stammered, blushing from that slip of the tongue.

Katie raised a brow at this.

"Is something wrong?..."She asked, wondering as she got closer to him.

Danny blushed again and wondered if he should just come clean or not. He can't help it but everything about Katie just kept reminding him of that kiss from the ending of their first date, which he's still currently wondering if it REALLY happened or not.

"On the one hand, I am risking total humiliation and maybe a slap in the face if I ask... but on the other hand, I gotta know..."He thought, still debating it.

"Danny, seriously? What's up?..."Katie asked and Danny sighed.

"Look, Katie...I-..."He was cut off when an unwanted interruption occurred.

"Hey, FENTURD!..."An obnoxious voice called, causing Danny to groan.

"Oh no..."Danny muttered in dread as he turned to see the source of the voice arriving to the scene.

Katie heard what he said and looked in the same direction, wondering what was the matter.

"What's wrong?..."She asked but before Danny could say anything, that is when someone she hasn't met yet...someone loud and arrogant arrive to the scene.

She saw that it was a tall, blonde boy in a leatherman jacket, who is clearly a jock and he had a nasty smile on his face as he marched over with eyes that just screamed: "I'm going to cause trouble".

"What do you want, Dash?..."Danny asked in irritation while the jock gave a cocky grin.

"Simple. I'm having a cruddy day..."He said as he cracked his knuckles, making it obvious what he wanted to do. "So, now I'm gonna give it to you..."He said in a mean way, making it clear that he wanted a punching bag and unfortunately for Danny, it was going to be him.

Katie saw this and frowned as she watched this guy be mean to Danny.

"Excuse me but what do you think that you are doing?..." She asked and the big jock finally noticed her.

"Wow, babe alert!..."Dash thought as he now sported a lecherous grin as he looked her over and pleased with what he saw.

"Hey gorgeous, what's your name?..."Dash said flirtatiously, pushing Danny out of the way so that he could flirt with her.

Katie, however, frowned and did not like how he talked to her or how he was treating Danny just now.

"What a creep! Just who is he?..."She thought, annoyed by how the boy leaned in closer, invading her space.

"My name is Katie and I just moved here..."She said, unimpressed by him.

The jock merely gave a dazed look at her as he didn't pay attention to her frown and just kept up with his own scummy introduction.

"My name is Dash Baxter, quarterback at Casper High...which reminds me, do you like quarterbacks?..."Dash asked, flexing his muscles like he was a champion.

Danny gritted his teeth as Dash flirted with Katie, not liking that she's now being hit on by him.

"Seriously? I finally get a chance with a cute girl and Dash ruins it!..."He thought as he watched, frustrated with Dash's antics.

Sure, he was still a little nervous and unsure of some things but it's the principal of the matter. He and Katie are out on a date right now and he's sick and tired of Dash trying to ruin everything for him.

"Seriously, Dash!? Don't you have a football game to practice for...or ANOTHER person to harass somewhere else!?..."Danny said, only to be shoved by the jock.

"Buzz off, Fenturd! Can't you see that I'm busy with something?!..."Dash said before turning his attention back to Katie.

"Well, Beautiful... since you're new in town...why don't you dump the loser and have a grand tour led by the King of Casper High..."Dash said as he eyed her, unaware of her growing dislike of him.

"Dash, she's not interested..."Danny tried but the jock shrugged him off.

"I said get lost, Twinky. I'll give you your beatings later. Be grateful for once..."He said as kept glaring at the young Fenton boy.

Katie blinked in confusing, before a small smile wormed it's way on her face, not because of Dash's flirting but because she just realized something.

"Oh my gosh, are they are actually fighting over me? This is so cool..." Katie thought, feeling a light flush on her face.

This was a first for her, most boys, even the boys back home were too shy to approach her or the ones who did didn't seem like the kids to bother doing this.

As cool as this was, it ended when Dash went back to his flirting.

"Come on baby, let's ditch Fenton and have some real fun..."Dash said as he offered an arm to the pretty blonde girl.

"Dash, just go..."Danny said but Dash only ignored him and kept hitting on Katie.

"Bite me, Feturd! Now make like that famous space man and buzz off, while me and this babe get some alone time..."Dash said as he wiggled his eyebrows at Katie.

Katie looked appalled and glared but thankfully didn't morph as she only swatted the jock away before moving and is now standing besides Danny, who was genuinely surprised that she came over to his side.

"Beat it, bub...I'm on a date with him..."Katie said as she still clung to Danny, surprising both boys.

"What's with this guy?..."She thought, unable to believe that he'd seriously flirt with her while she was on a date with another guy.

"Excuse me?..."Dash questioned.

"You heard me, Loser. Beat it. I've got myself a date right here..."Katie said as she snuggled into Danny's arm, making him blush more.

The blonde jock looked flabbergasted before it turned into anger.

"Listen babe, you're new here, so you don't know that this geek is barely even in the pecking order of our school. He's not worth anyone's time. Heck, his only friends are a techno geek and a goth freak whose just as big a loser as he is, so unless you want to be like them, get your act together..."Dash said and Katie frowned and started to get angry.

However, she had recalled what her parents told her about minding her temper at school or in town and maintaining a good reputation with the community...but that didn't mean it was easy with this jerk here.

"Control...control..."She thought before managing a calm level to speak.

"Yeah? Well, guess what?, he's not a loser. If anything, you are for thinking you can just walk up and flirt with some girl while she's on a date..."Katie said as she remained close to Danny, who was loving this more and more.

"Okay, this day is getting better and better..."He thought, pleased while Dash is still having trouble processing her rejection.

"Hold on, what are you saying?!..."Dash asked, getting angrier.

"She said that she's not interest, Dash..."Danny said in anger but the blonde jerk snarled.

"No one asked you, Freak!..." Dash said, pushing Danny to the floor before looking to Katie again, who looked angry now.

"Why that jerk!..."Katie thought, barely controlling her anger, while the jock kept on pestering her.

"Listen, babe, you're hot so I'll give you some advice...I'd give you a way better time then that loser..."Dash said while the blonde girl took deep breaths.

However, her face is beginning to turn red and she could feel her temper rising but she managed to keep herself in control.

"Control...CONTROL!..."Katie thought in anger as she went to help Danny up his feet.

"He's NOT a loser, you jerk! Take a hint already and go, before I get security!..."Katie said as she remained close to Danny, making it clear who she wanted to be with.

Dash looked appalled before he shook off the emotion and attempted to save his dignity.

"You can't say no to me!. I'm Casper High's star quarterback!..."Dash said but Katie didn't seem impressed.

"Who cares?!..."Katie said, her self control about to go.

However, before she could act on it, one of the bowling alley's security guards arrived.

"What's going on here?..."He asked.

Dash was surprised to actually see a guard and Katie, who had just been about to lose it, was relieved when she saw him and began to explain everything.

"This creep was threatening my date..."Katie said as she remained close to Danny, who couldn't believe this turn of events.

"WHAT?! NO! I WAS SAVING THIS GIRL FROM THE LOSER!..."Dash lied but it seems the guard didn't believe him.

"A loser, huh? I don't think so. I saw you push him down just now. You're coming with me, trouble-maker..."The guard said as he dragged the fuming blonde boy away.

Danny grinned as he watched the bully be taken away.

"I know that he's probably gonna try and take this out on me at school, but this was so worth it..."He thought, snickering.

Once Dash was gone, Katie scowled but was at least glad that she won't get a lecture from her folks about minding her tempter in public...especially since she gets to continue her date with Danny.

"What a jerk..."She muttered in disgust.

"You have no idea..."Danny muttered. He knew that was not the first time Dash has tried to spoil his fun for whatever reason he had.

"Seriously, who was he?..."Katie asked.

"Dash is a jock at my school and a bully. He thinks that high school and popularity are the only things that matter, since his life is pretty much going to go downhill after graduation...so, he spends time making everyone else miserable and making himself feel like royalty..."Danny said, knowing that the boy would do worse next time they met.

"Wow...he's literally not even TRYING to do something with his life and he calls you a loser..."Katie said, already hating this Dash guy.

Normally, she was all for guys with muscles, but not if it means zero brains, manners, and no goals. She wanted someone who had more to offer than being good at sports and having a decent face.

Someone who knew what he wanted in life like Danny, like how he wanted to be an astronaut and who obviously knows how to treat a lady.

Speaking of Danny, she recalled that the jerk had been pretty rough with him before the security guard showed up.

"Are you okay, Danny? That jerk didn't hurt you, did he?..." Katie asked, looking genuinely concerned about his well-being.

"I'm fine. It's nothing new..."Danny said.

The ghost boy had been through worse at this point, Dash's harassment were more of annoyances now than anything. He could more than easily cremate Dash, but is too heroic to even entertain the idea.

Still, he was glad to see that Katie had turned him down and stuck by him, even when Dash got pushy.

"Thanks Katie, for standing up to Dash with me. That was pretty cool of you..."He admitted, relieved that she also didn't fall for Dash's "charms".

Katie was surprised but blushed a bit as it was rare for someone to actually thank her for anything.

"No problem, Danny..."She said, still blushing.

He flashed that smile of his again, the one that made Katie's heart skip a beat and smiled widely.

She recalled that before the guard showed up, Danny did try to defend her, even though that Dash guy was way bigger and more muscular.

Add to the fact that Danny didn't back down when Dash kept being pushy and he even did his best to tell him off was impressive, especially given that Dash is way bigger than Danny.

"You know Danny, that was pretty cool how you stood up for me too..."Katie said in a sweet tone.

Danny heard this, blushed and avoided eye contact with her.

"Well..I...couldn't leave you in the hands of Dash..."He said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Well, I think that deserves a reward..."Katie said as she kissed him on the cheek again, making him blush deeply.

"Okay...why was I unsure before?..."Danny thought, unable to remember as Katie just smiled in fondness.

"He's really something wonderful!..."She thought in a fit in infatuation, as she remembered that they are suppose to be on a date.

"Well, should we get to back to our lane and start our date before someone else comes to spoil things..."She said as she tried to keep herself from letting her hormones get the best of her,
