Chapter 11: Katie At Casper High
The Next Day
It was Tuesday and the long weekend was over.
Now it was time for students to get back to school...and for one of them, it's their first day.
It's Katie's first day at Casper High and Danny was going to be a good boyfriend/tour guide and show her around the place.
It's also the first time seeing her since yesterday, when she made out with him again and decided they should be a couple.
Danny was still a little tired from an all night patrol and hunting for that green rage monster but was optimistic about today.
Sure, it was weird that there hasn't been any more sightings of that beast, just the occasional ghost attack. Danny had searched high and low across Amity Park and found nothing
It's like it banished off the face of the earth.
"I haven't seen any sign of it in two days...maybe it really is gone...Maybe that thing fell through a natural portal or something..."He considered.
He sighed as his mind went back to Katie and what happened last night, when he agreed to be her boyfriend.
Danny was still not sure about the other night and worries he jumped in too soon but was optimistic. Besides, Katie hasn't given him a reason to regret his actions.
"So, here we go..."Danny thought as he flew to her house.
He promised that he'd walk her to school and to show her around and make her feel welcomed. As well as prepare her for the craziness of Casper High.
After all, he didn't want to disappoint his new girlfriend on their first day of school together.
"Girlfriend..."He thought.
He is still thinking about how his relationship status changed over the weekend.
"Last week, I was single and dateless and now, I have a cute girlfriend who's already made out with me and already passed first base!..."He thought, still in disbelief.
Sure, he felt that maybe it was a little fast but Katie was a nice girl and she really liked him. She isn't dangerous or anything.
"I'm probably looking too much into everything. She's a nice girl...and my girlfriend now..."He thought.
Katie is really cute and she really seems like him...even if she can get a little too affectionate when she kisses him. He still can't believe that she frenched him yesterday. He had never been through something like that before and it was overwhelming.
Really overwhelming but also kinda nice.
"On one hand she French kissed me... on the other hand she FRENCH KISSED ME!..."He thought, worried and excited about it.
He still wasn't sure where he stood with that but part of him still can't help but smile like an idiot at the memory. He got a dazed look on his face whenever he thought their lips making constant contact and wondered how the student body will react to his new and affectionate girlfriend.
Still, today is a new day and he's optimistic.
"I should just relax and enjoy this. Besides, it's not like she's some monster like Tucker said..."He chuckled as he recalled that joke his friend made before continue to fly, wanting to be a good boyfriend and walk her to school like he promised.
A little later
Danny soon arrived to the Kaboom house, changed forms and saw the time. It was 7:00 AM and they have to get going if they don't wanna be late.
Danny knocked on the door and Katie quickly answered it and smiled at him.
"Hey, Danny..."She said as she walked out, looking cute in her blue sweater and pink capris.
Danny thought she looked great and smiled.
"Katie, hi there. You look really pretty..."He said, smiling nervously at his girlfriend.
Katie giggled and then smiled at her new boyfriend, hugging him.
"Aren't you sweet?..."She said before kissing him.
Danny froze up at that contact.
"And here we go again...and I'm not complaining..."He thought before she pulled away, giggling.
Danny just stood there, grinning like an idiot at the kiss.
"I still can't believe that I'm going to walk to school with a really cute girlfriend beside me..."He thought, excited.
Sure, sometimes she went a little overboard with the kiss but still, he's not complaining about it.
"Ready to go, Pookie Bear?..." She asked as she smiled at him.
"I gotta- wait... what'd you call me?..." He asked, wondering if he heard right.
Katie smiled and sent him a loving look.
"Well, since we're going to be dating, I figure we should have pet names. No rush for me, but I picked one for you now... Pookie-Bear!..." She said, excitedly.
"Pookie-Bear?!..."He questioned. "It's not great but it's better then whelp, dipstick or little badger..."He thought, not liking the nickname too much.
"Is it necessary to call me that in public?..." Danny asked, sweating nervously.
He wasn't sure how to feel about getting called a pet name but the blonde girl only giggled.
"Nah... just for us... for now. Maybe after our first month together, we can use them around other people..." She said with a smile.
"Great..." Danny said with sarcasm.
Katie did not catch the sarcasm and just smiled at Danny.
"I'm sure you'll come up with something great..."She said as she kept walking with Danny to school.
A little later
Since Katie's new house was only a few blocks away from the school, they arrived their sooner than Danny thought they would.
Once there, Katie eyed the place.
"So this is Casper High, huh?..." Katie asked as she looked at the building.
"Yup, this is it. Fair warning, don't eat the mystery meat..."Danny said and Katie chuckled.
"Alright..."She said as she then wrapped her arms tightly around one of Danny's, making him blush.
"This is happening again..."He thought as the blonde girl kept smiling at him.
"Ready to introduce your new girlfriend?..." She asks with a seductive tone.
The ghost boy gulped and nodded.
"I... guess so..."He said as he lead her inside the school and Katie's first day at Casper High began.
