Chapter 16: The Next Day

The Next Day

Danny yawned as he woke up, stretching a bit as he did so.

He was still drowsy and half asleep after a night of in between ghost hunts and failed monster finding.

That green beast has just dissapeared and unfortunately, since it's not a ghost, none of his parents tracking devices could find it.

"I just don't get it, how can something that big disappear without a trace?..."He thought as he was frustrated.

"I gotta find that thing before it causes anymore damage..."He whispered to himself as he went downstairs for breakfast.

His parents were tinkiering with their gadgets and eating breakfast too.

Just like every morning.

"Good morning, Sweetie..."Maddie said upon seeing her son.

"Hey mom, hey dad..."Danny said as he went to pour himself some cereal.

However, his dad a funny looking grin on his face.

"So Danny, a little birdie told me you just got yourself a new girlfriend..."Jack said while his son had been taking a sip of milk, only to nearly choke on it.

"How do they know?..."He thought as he hadn't mentioned this to them.

"How do you know that?..."Danny asked.

"Jasmine told us that, Sweetie.."Maddie explained while his sister sent him an apologetic look.

"Sorry, it slipped out..."Jazz said and Danny sighed.

"So, I take it you and Sam have gotten together?..."Jack asked with a wink while Danny raised an eyebrow at that remark.

"What? No...I'm not dating Sam. I'm dating Katie..."Danny corrected.

His parents raised a brow at that and were even more curious now.

"Oh...who's Katie? I don't think I've ever heard of her before..."Maddie questioned.

Danny sighed as he knew that there is no way out of this, so he told them what happened, leaving out the stuff he didn't want them to know about.

"She and her family just moved to Amity Park. I met her at the park and we just started dating ..."Danny said, feeling awkward while his dad sent him a proud smile.

"That's my boy, girls just can't resist the Fenton DNA..."Jack said as he ruffled his sons hair.

"Dad..."Danny said in an annoyed tone.

"Well, she sounds nice...So, when can we meet her?..."Maddie asked, curious of what her son's mystery girlfriend is like.

Danny nearly choked upon hearing that.

"Meet her?..."He repeated , panic inside him at the thought of his parents meeting Katie.

"Yes, it's not so strange to meet the girl our son is dating..."Jack said.

"I...what...what I mean is...that...she might be busy..."Danny said, nervous.

To be honest, he didn't want his parents and Katie to meet for two reasons. One, his parents might do something to embarrass him in front of her...and two...Katie might act clingy and say...what she said last night...and he didn't want to imagine how his parents would react to that.

Both situations were something he wanted to avoid.

"Well, let us know when she's free. I'd love to meet the lucky lady who caught your eye..."Jack said as he turned on the TV in the kitchen.

"I think it was the other way around..."Danny muttered but his parents didn't hear him.

Just then, there was a sudden report about Casper High.

"Huh? What's going on here?..."Jack said as the entire Fenton family watched the news.

Lance Thunder was on the scene.

"For the last time, I'm a weather man not a news reporter! I'm not even getting paid extra for doing this-..."Lance said before stopping, as he noticed that they're now live.

"This is Lance Thunder reporting at Casper High..." He said as he showed an image of the school, which was overflowing with some kind of brown substance.

"Wait...is that pudding?..."Danny asked out loud in confusion while Jazz looked confused.

Even his parents weren't sure what to say as the weatherman/reporter spoke on television.

"Apparently, late last night, the school had been flooded with chocolate pudding..."He said and while professional, even his expression seemed baffled.

"What a waste of good pudding..."Jack muttered as the news report continued.

"The police so far have no suspects but they have reported strange animal footprints and...what seems to have been fireworks that had went off during the night, as well as business cards which the letters WB labeled on it. We also just learned from Principal Ishiyama that the school will be closed for several days to clean up..."The reporter/weatherman said.

Danny blinked upon hearing this.

"Okay, that's new one but at least I don't have school today and that's always a plus ..."He said while he suddenly got a call.

It was Tucker. Danny answered.

"Hey Danny...did you hear the news..."Tucker asked.

"Yeah. No school..."Danny said as he began walking away for privacy.

"Sweet! So, are you up for an all night of gaming with the whole Doom Trilogy? ..."Tucker said.

""Yeah, but remember...we still need to find that monster and fast ..."Danny reminded.

Before he could say anything else, he got another call.

"Oh, one second Tuck, I got another call..."Danny said as he answered that one.

"Hello..."He said.

"Hey, Pookie-Bear..."Was heard.

"Katie? Oh...hey..."Danny said as he wasn't expecting to hear from her so soon.

"Did you hear the news? There's no school today..."Katie said, pleased.

"Yeah, I just saw the news..."Danny said.

"So, anyway. I was thinking that maybe go out for lunch and afterwards, hang out at my house..."Katie said and Danny gulped and started to sweat over the phone.

"Another date already?..."Danny thought as he still recalled what she said last night.

She said that she LOVES him of all things and he is still processing that information. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go out again so soon, to be honest.

"I don't know, Katie. I...I mean...we do have homework..."He said but the blonde girl wasn't letting up.

"I know but we don't have school for who knows how long... let's have some fun before we go back...besides, I miss my man..."Katie said, trying to coax him.

The ghost boy wasn't really sure about this, especially after Katie called him "her man" but he needed to find that monster and fast...still, he knew Katie wasn't going to let up.

He decided to just give her what she wants, so she can get this out of her system.

"Alright...I guess we can hang for a bit but I still got a lot of stuff to do and-..."Danny was cut off when Katie giggled.

"Great and don't worry about homework...if you want, we can do it together when you get here. Okay, bye..."Katie said before hanging up.

Danny blinked upon hearing that.

"I guess...I'm going on another date..."He said, still unsure about this.

Meanwhile

With Vlad

The fruitloop was in his ghost form, in the middle of one of his secret labs as he was analyzing the footage he got last night.

"Fascinating...this creature is definitely not a ghost, since my droids would have detected it...and yet it is very powerful..."Vlad thought as he watched the video and smirked when he saw the video hit Danny.

"And whoever or whatever this creature is, is clearly an enemy to Daniel..."Vlad said as he smirked. "Well, then perhaps I can have some use for it..."He said as he began to make plans.

All sorts of plans for once he finds that creature and learn all it's powers.

A little later

With our favorite ghost boy

Danny had just arrived to the Kaboom residence for his date with Katie. The house was as lively as any could be, though there was an odd calmness around it.

"You'd think there'd be more going on right now. Or maybe everyone is somewhere else right now..."He thought, walking up to the door.

He quickly checked himself, making sure he looked okay before knocking on the door. The entrance creaked open smoothly yet quietly, unnerving the boy. Even more so when he didn't see anyone on the other side of the door.

"What is this?..."He thought as he walked inside.

He looked around and saw no one here.

"Strange. Where is everyone?..."Danny thought, searching around slowly.

"Hello? Is anyone here? Katie?..."He spoke up, but received no answer.

Suddenly, something in the shadows moved swiftly behind as the door closed. Danny turned to catch a glimpse of the perpetrator in vain.

He raised a brow at this wondering if one of his ghostly enemies came here. Though that wasn't the case as his ghost sense didn't go off, so it wasn't a ghostly enemy.

The ghost boy got ready for a fight. Before he could do or say anything, someone pounced on him from behind, tackling him to the ground, watching him with predatory eyes and a mischievous grin.

"What's going on here?!..."He thought as he was pinned to the ground.

At first, he thought he was being attacked by someone but he looked up to see who ambushed him...and who is also giving little kisses on his cheeks.

It's Katie.

"What the- Katie!?..."Danny exclaimed while she giggled.

"Hiya, Sweetie..."Katie said as she pinned him to the ground, with an amorous look on her face.

"W-What are you doing?..."He asked nervously as his girlfriend looked down at him with an enamored look came on her face.

"I really wanted to see you again, Pookie Bear. So, Handsome...Did you miss me?..." She said as she started twirling with his hair as she laid on him, making Danny gulp nervously.

"Uh...sure..."Danny said nervously as she kept up her antics.

"Well, I missed you..."She said as she kissed him forehead now and still had him pinned.

The ghost boy was getting nervous.

"How can someone be so pretty and so terrifying ..."He thought as his girlfriend gave him with an enamored look came on her face. "Mostly terrifying..."He mentally added.

"Uh...so...we were going to go out for lunch..."Danny said and Katie nodded.

"Yeah, I managed to get us a reservation at a nice place called Luigi's for noon..."Katie said and Danny raised a brow.

"But...it's 11:00..."Danny said.

"Yeah, they said that it be an hour wait..."Katie said, having been frustrated and she might have exploded there...until she remembered that she and Danny could do something to pass the time.

Like kissing.

"So, we got some time before our lunch date..."She said.

"Then...uh...maybe we should go for a walk or soething...before your parents come and see us like this..."Danny said as he tried to wriggle out but Katie was surprisingly very strong.

"Oh, don't worry...my dad is at work and my mom went grocery shopping, plus my little brother is at the park with one of his new playmates...we don't have anything to worry about..."Katie said cheerfully.

"Then why am I worrying?..."He said as she then began to use his fingers to walk on his chest of all things.

"Oh Danny, I'll give you one guess what I'm thinking about..." She said as she drew circles on his shirt with her fingers.. "It starts with a K and ends with you..."She said flirtatiously.

Danny gulped. He might be a C student but even he could put two and two together

"Is it kissing..."He said as she giggled.

Katie smiled

"Correct..."She purred as she puckered her lips and began covering his entire face with her kisses.

Danny just laid as she did this, flabbergasted by the event. He couldn't make heads or tails of this.

One the one hand, he is making out with a hot blonde who is crazy about him...but on the other hand, this hot blonde girl thinks she's in love with him and just jumped him and is kissing him in a way that is more common in one of those old school, wacky cartoons than what normal people do.

"This girl is either the best thing to ever happen to me or the most terrifying..."He thought as he took in the onslaught of kisses.

However, part of him did enjoy this while the other part was uncomfortable with how forward Katie was being, as well as the memory of what she said the other night about being in love with him. Still, he found himself grinning a bit as she a bit as she planted her lips and she wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"Here we go again..."He thought as his hormones started taking control.

The sensation was still a dream for the young boy. Having a girl head over heels for you would do that. Especially from such a cute girl like Katie.

It was insane and confusing but also strangely nice...to a point, that is.

MUAH!~

Once she pulled away, Danny had a dazed smile on his face and a blush, while Katie looked lovingly to him before going back to showing her affection, all over Danny's face again.

Danny had a stunned grin when Katie pulled away, smiling at him adoringly.

"He's so cute...I think I really am in love with this guy..."She thought as she sighed blissfully before she continued to shower him with affection.

Danny, on the other hand was still half enjoying this and half being overwhelmed by it as the blonde girl continued to kiss him.

Once she pulled away, she twirled his hair again and making googly eyes again.

"I think I'm becoming addicted to your lips, Pookie-Bear..."Katie said seductively.

Danny snapped out of his daze and blushed more when she said that.

"Um, thanks..."He said in an unsure tone while Katie giggled before kissing him once more.

Once she pulled away, she sighed dreamily.

"Now that is a good way to start a date..."She said as she finally got off of him.

She helped him up but Danny was still dazed over what he just experienced.

"You just...pounced me and...make out with me on the floor..."Danny said, as he was coming back to reality.

"Well, I thought it be fun. Plus, I know you had fun too..."She said in a coy way as the boy stammered at that.

"Now, we better get ready..."Katie said as she seemingly turned back to normal.

She noticed her hair and clothes and realized they were messed up from all the contact with Danny.

"I'm gonna get ready..."Katie said as she turned to her beau. "You can use the down stairs bathroom to get ready, okay..."She said as she pointed towards it.

"Uh...okay..."Danny said, still overwhelmed.

Katie gave him one last kiss and soon left to go to the upstairs bathroom to get ready.

Danny was still stunned over what he just experienced.

The closets and the end of the dates were one thing but Katie just...just...

"That was...pretty wild..."He thought as he soon noticed his appearance in a reflective sculpture Katie's parents had in their living room...he saw that his hair was even messier and his whole face was caked in red lipstick.

"Again..."He said as he went to the bathroom to go clean up.

5 minutes later

Danny walked out of the bathroom, having finally recovered from his experience and his face was lipstick-free again.

However, that is when Katie walked downstairs, and now neater and looking normal, couldn't resist kissing him on the cheek and leaving another lipstick mark.

"Hey, it took me five minutes to wash up..."Danny said as he wiped his cheek.

Katie just giggled.

"I couldn't help myself..."She said as she took him by the hand.

"Come on...let's go..."She said as she lead him to their next date.

All the while, Danny wondered if he was really prepared for this.
