Goin' KABOOM!
Chapter 31: Dinner with the Kabooms: Appetizers
While Danny was busy dealing with Katie, a certain group of self-absorbed teenagers were nearby, looking for something to do.
It's some members of the A-Listers, Kwan, Dale and a reluctant Dash who had a nervous look on his face to be outside, though he tried to hide it.
"Please no monster. It's gonna get me...I know it.."Dash said while his left eye twitched a bit, not that his friends noticed.
After his last encounter with that hulking monster, he was too terrified to even leave his room and only recently was convinced to get out of the house. He managed to meet with friends, and he didn't want to miss out on a day off from school, finding something to do.
"So...what should we do now? Go nerd wailing? Go to the mall and pick up some hotties?..."Dale asked.
"We could just get something to eat and catch a flick...and to those other things too..."Kwan suggested.
"That sounds good, what do you say Dash?..."Dale asked.
"Sure, whatever..."Dash said as they kept walking.
It didn't matter to him what they did so long as that... thing was gone.
"Man, that was one UGLY ghost, even uglier than Fenton. I just hope Danny Phantom took care of it..."He thought, just happy that it's not here now.
Maybe now he can focus on more important stuff like enjoying his glory days as King of Casper High before his life goes down hill...and trying to find ways to convince the new hot girl at school to dump Fenton and date him instead.
"I still can't believe she actually chose that loser. She have some screws loose or something..."He thought in anger as he and his friends kept walking and chatting, looking for way to kill some time.
They soon turned the corner but saw something that caught their attention. They saw a familiar looking guy run out of a nearby house and into an alley that was close by.
Not just anyone either.
"Was that Fenton?..."Kwan asked out loud.
Dash perked up at and grinned sadistically.
"My favorite punching bag..." He said, eager for a chance to vent his issues.
"That did it..." Dale said, smirking.
However, they noticed that the unpopular boy had just left a house and wore a weird shirt. Normally, they wouldn't care and just pick on him for no reason at all but even Dash noticed something off about this situation, especially about where he just ran from.
"Wait a second...isn't this Katie's house?..."Dash asked, recognizing it before going after his target.
The boys shrugged before following Dash.
Why he knew where Katie lived didn't strike them as odd at the moment. They just wanting to find someone to harass to feel better about themselves.
Nothing else mattered to the quarterback, except for hot chicks, but his priorities lay in making other lives feel horrible. He cracked his knuckles as he walked over, eager for unearned payback.
Oh boy.
With Danny
Danny quickly ducked into the nearest alley he could find and started rubbing his face that was still coated in lipstick.
He was panting heavily and sweating a bit, not just from the shirt he was given either...even though it felt itchy and warm but he wasn't focusing on that.
Only that he's free right now.
The ghost boy took a deep breath, happy to be out of that whole scenario and to be out of that house for the time being.
"I finally managed to get away..."Danny said as he quickly pulled out his handkerchief and wiped off Katie's kisses before someone saw him like this. He was so frantic, he didn't think to phase the substance off, not that he could, but rubbing it was making things worse.
He didn't even want to imagine having to explain to anyone about the last half hour of his life, something he'd like to go back and time and undo this whole mess if Clockwork would let him.
However, even he knew that was unlikely and he would be rejected by the time spirit. He'd still be stuck dealing with her.
"Maybe it's not too late to disappear for a while..."He muttered as he wiped the last of the lipstick from his face.
He checked to see if his powers came back but unfortunately, they were still on the fritz, so he can't fly away.
"Darn it...I guess I gotta go walk back home on foot..."He said in frustration.
He was about to leave the alley and head for home, only for Murphy's Law to kick in at the worst time possible.
"Hey, is that who I think it is?..." What sounded like Kwan asked in a loud voice.
Danny froze up and lowered his hands to see them.
"No, not them!..."Danny thought, feeling this just got worse.
"Well, well, well...if it isn't Twinky..."Dash said in a mean voice as they got closer.
"Why couldn't it have been the Box Ghost?..."Danny thought in dismay as he saw the A-listers jocks arrive.
"Uh... I'm just... passing by..." He said in a lame attempt as he tried to leave.
They blocked him and started circling him.
"Can it, Dork. We saw you sneaking off Katie's property..."Dash said.
"And... you know where it is because?..."Danny had to ask.
Dash's eyes widened and he cleared his throat loudly.
"Reasons..."He said lamely.
They all looked at him funny, especially since neither of them knew she lived there. It was then Kwan noticed something on Danny that was hiding by shrugging hard.
"Wait...what's that on your neck?..."He asked as he pointed at it.
Danny flinched and immediately covered it.
"Nothing!..."Danny said as he stepped back.
"Nah nah... he got something there..." Dale said as he approached and pulled Danny's arm out of the way from blocking their view.
They were stunned when they saw the hickeys, the same ones Danny tried to hide.
"Are those hickeys?!..." Dash questioned loudly while his friends stared slack jawed.
Danny felt embarrassed and covered them again, even if he knew there was no point.
"They're... sunburns..."Danny lied but they didn't buy it.
If anything, these jocks had shocked looks on their faces as they knew what they were.
"Those are hickeys!..." Dale clarifies, looking stupefied.
"Um... no?..." Danny went weakly. "I told you they were sunburns..."He replied.
"No, those are hickeys..."Dale said, pointing. "I'd recognize those kind of neck marks anywhere..."He said.
"He must've gotten them from that Kaboom chick..." Kwan points out as they began to jump to conclusions.
"Uh... no..." Danny lied poorly.
"Then why were you at her house!?..."Dash seethed, holding the boy by the collar.
"I was just...helping Katie out with something..."Danny lied.
"You did that while her parents watched?..." Kwan asked, not believing him.
"No, her parents were gone. We were alone, I swear..."He said.
Danny didn't know how lucky those words were for a teenager. The A-listers paused, staring at the boy in disbelief, with the jocks looking with jealousy written all over their faces. Dash dropped the boy in shock, his pride crashing.
"Uh...what's with them?..."Danny thought as his bully just looked like he grew a second head.
"You and Katie were alone in her house?!..."He said in disbelief, angry at this.
"Uh...yes..."Danny said weakly while his bully frowned harder.
"I don't believe this..." Dash grumbled.
The other jocks were fixated on what Danny said, both in disbelief.
"Wait...you were alone in Katie's house...with her...for who knows how long while her parents were out and you got hickeys..."Kwan repeated in disbelief.
Dash looked between his two friends and frowned at them not doing anything and just standing around looking like morons right now. The blonde jock gritted his teeth in jealousy while trying to deny the reality of the situation. He would never admit to how the loser got to do this before him.
"I should be alone with a girl like that, even I haven't gotten hickeys before..."He thought bitterly.
Danny flinched and soon realized what they must be thinking
"Oh man, I should have just made a break for it..."He thought, hating that he still didn't have his powers.
"Uh ...it's not what you guys think..."Danny said as he stepped back, not liking this situation.
He also didn't like the looks he was receiving from his bullies, who didn't look like they'd bully him for once.
"Why do I not like the look on their faces more than usual?..."He thought, nervous.
Dash looked between his two friends and frowned at them not doing anything to him.
"What are they doing?..."He thought but got his answer when his pals just smiled at Fenton, like they themselves were friends with him or something.
"You and Katie are already going passed first base..."Dale said in disbelief. "I never thought I actually be impressed that a loser like you would get any in high school..."He added.
"I'll say. I knew that something must've been going on between you two when we saw you two swapping spit at the water-park but I wasn't expecting this..."Kwan said in disbelief.
"You guys SAW that?!..."Danny exclaimed, mortified.
"You bet we did and we also saw you sneak out of her house before her parents showed. Nice score, Fenton!..."Kwan said while Dash was seething in jealousy, one of his eyes starts twitching.
Danny was mortified as they kept talking.
"I...I..."He tried but was cut off by them.
"So, what kind of breath mints did you use? I bet Dash could use some..."Dale said in a teasing way, almost friendly rather than cruel.
"Watch it, Dale!..."Dash snarled.
"With this sudden news, guess Fenton could give you pointers..."Kwan said in a hinting way while his blonde friend snapped.
"Kwan, stop that!..."Dash said, gritted his teeth in jealousy while Danny panicked and try to defend himself from them and their accusations.
"We didn't do anything!..."Danny insisted, denying whatever it is they thought he and Katie were doing.
The jocks, minus Dash, laughed and one of them even slapped Danny's back in comedic fun , a rarity for all of them.
"Don't even try and deny it now. We saw you leave her place...Still, got to hand it you Fenton, I never expected that...Katie is smoking hot, so way to aim high above your league..."Dale said, actually looking impressed.
They started staring at the boy with something new, a level of respect, misplaced respect actually. Danny couldn't tell, mainly because he had been so low on the social totem pole, but they actually were amazed at his accomplishment.
Danny didn't like this rare moment of attempted kindness and he was a bit grossed out by their not too flattering compliments on his "scoring". He had to clear this up before it was too late and they started making weird rumors about him and Katie.
"It's not like that!..."Danny insisted, trying his best to convince them but was denied.
"Sure, it's not..."Dale said sarcastically before smirking. "You lucky dog, can you show me your tricks..."He said as he smirks at him
Kwan playfully elbowed Dash, only to be met with a harsh shove, breaking the boy's laughter.
"Don't congratulate him for being with her for so long. She clearly lost a bet..." Dash said bitterly.
Danny scowled at this but still tried to clear things up.
"I'm serious. I just passed out and Katie was just taking care of me..."Danny said, partially lying.
"Oh...I get it...she brought you home to play nurse..."Kwan said with a wink to his friends, who guffawed.
"It wasn't like that and I only left because her folks showed up and Katie didn't want them to see me before I had dinner with them tonight..."Danny said, only to realize what he let slip out. "Uh...again, not what you think...nothing happened...I'm not doing anything like that..."Danny insisted.
"Hey, cool it, Fenton. You might be a loser but we're all guys here. "Though, not much of a loser in this case..."Kwan said, playfully punching him in the shoulder.
"Even if the girl's crazy..."Dash muttered, crossing his arms.
"You have no idea..."Danny thought as the other jocks kept laughing.
"No need to be envious here, Dash..." Dale said.
"Yeah, no one likes jealousy..."Kwan said.
"Still, it's like we said...we're all guys here and we all know the drill..."Dale said, insinuating some sort of guys code to secrecy, though also secretly trying to dig for juicy details.
"Do we have to?..." Dash questioned, wishing to pummel Danny.
"Good point. You got plans, right?..." Dale asks.
"Y-Yes..." Danny said.
"Dinner with her folks?..."Kwan repeated and Danny nodded, not liking the look on their faces.
"Come on, let's leave him be for now. He's got a lady to impress..." Kwan said as the two stepped aside to let him leave.
"This is a first... but I'm not complaining..."Danny said under his breath as he made a break for it.
The ghost boy soon marched away from here, Dash pouted hard while the jocks high-fived.
"I can't believe she'd actually letting Fenton make out with her. She must be crazy..."Dash said in anger since it was completely against Casper High's natural hierarchy.
"Yeah, who knew Fenton had any game?..."Kwan said, clueless.
"Still, I can't believe Fenton managed to score such a hottie...I was gonna ask her out after she dumped him..."Dale commented as he wondered what his secret was.
"Not before I ask her out you aren't!. I SAW HER FIRST SO I CALLED DIBS!..."Dash snapped, making Dale step back.. "Plus, it's totally a fluke..."He added.
"Yep..."Kwan said, though mostly to avoid being yelled at by Dash.
"Totally..."Dale said
The jocks then looked at each other and laughed at Dash for his envy.
"Starting to wish I stayed home..."Dash said with anger in his voice.
"Come on, let's just go now..."Kwan said, getting hungry.
"Me too... and we can talk about what we just saw..."Dale said.
"Knock it off...we all know that sooner or later their break up is definitely gonna happen. Right boys?..."Dash said as he expected a response from them.
"You got that right Dash..."Kwan said, being a sycophant.
"Finally, back on track..." Dash thought.
"Say, how far do you guys think Fenton actually managed to get with Kaboom?..."Dale said as Dash saw an opportunity.
"It won't matter, he won't get further than that..."Dash said with a mean smirk as they begun to make some plans, unaware of the trouble they'll cause him
Later
After the incident at the Kaboom house and the unpleasant encounter with Dash and his friends, Danny became impatient and a little desperate for help. He was panicking and wasn't too sure on what his next move should be. He also wasn't sure about what he's going to do if those idiot jocks spread lies or if they tried to pick any more fights with him when Katie was around...or if they open their mouths about what they saw.
"I can't believe that this is all happening to me! I'm starting to prefer them stuffing me into a locker over whatever that was!..."He muttered under his breath as he soon arrived to his neighborhood.
After arriving, he saw Sam and Tucker waiting at his front door. along with Jazz. Sam had come here since she called him earlier, trying to see if they could make more plans against Katie but he never answered her and didn't even knew about the miss calls.
Now, they are here and while Tucker looked worried, Sam looked furious.
"Danny!? What are you doing!? Why didn't you return my calls?..." Sam snapped, till she noticed his shirt. "And why are you dressed like you're from the 90's?..."She couldn't help but ask.
"Sam, I do not have time for whatever it is you're angry about. I just had the worst time with Katie, because of Vlad!..."Danny snapped back.
He had a long day and did not need any more trouble.
"What happened?..."Jazz asked, pushing Sam away.
"She practically had me a prisoner all day, that's what happened..."Danny said as he began to explain everything that had happened today.
He lead them inside the house and since his parents were out, he told them everything in the living room, every detail of the experience.
From Katie showing up this morning to drag him to that fake date that Vlad set up, to the impromptu ghost battle and him loosing access to his powers, to even the hickeys he got, which were only just starting to fade a bit due to his healing factor but he knew for sure that they won't be gone until tomorrow.
However, his sister got overprotective and Sam accidentally ended up breaking an edge of a table...or at least Danny thought it was an accident.
Anyway, once he was done, his friends and sister upset/worried for Danny.
"Oh man, I can't believe that happened..."Jazz said while Sam was seething now, almost popping a blood vessel as she wanted to tear Vlad or Katie apart.
"I can't believe Vlad is trying to hook you up..."Tucker said.
"He's just doing it to torture me..."Danny said. "It's thanks to him that Katie now thinks I love her and now she might be looking for commitment soon!..."He said in distress, stressed over how this so called relationship spiraling out of control and being taken to the next level against his will.
"Then break up with her already! Make it clear you don't like her anymore! You fight ghosts all the time! How is this hard!? Just cut ties with her and be done with it!..."Sam said, looking annoyed but briefly forgetting certain facts.
That is when Danny snapped as he turned to her in anger.
"THIS ISN'T EASY! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HARD IT IS TO EVEN TALK WHEN THAT MADWOMAN'S TONGUE IS CRAMMED DOWN MY THROAT SO HARD THAT I CAN BARELY GET A WORD OUT?! YOU DEAL WITH SOMEONE LIKE HER AND THEN COME COMPLAINING!..."Danny yelled.
Sam was taken back by his outburst, as were Jazz and Tucker.
"Not only that but I've got no way to beat her and even if I could, it's not like I can just wave my hand and fix all the destruction she might cause every time she loses her temper. Something else that my parents can blame on the "no good ghost kid" or something Vlad could use against me...I'm running out of ways to handle her AND KEEP MY SANITY INTACT! EVERY SECOND WITH HER IS LIKE A TIME BOMB I CAN DEFUSE BY LETTING HER ACT LIKE AN OBSESSIVE STALKER WITH HER PREY! I CAN'T JUST DUMP HER LIKE SOME COLD JERK, NOT ONLY WILL SHE FLIP OUT AND MOST LIKELY MONSTER OUT, BUT I'M NOT THE KIND OF GUY TO DO THAT! SO I GOT KATIE ON MY BACK WHILE I HAVE TO JUGGLE MYSELF, SCHOOL, GHOSTS, AND WORST OF ALL VLAD WHO SEEMS DETERMINED TO USE HER TO DRIVE ME CRAZY! AND IT'S WORKING BECAUSE IF THIS KEEPS UP, I MIGHT GET LOCKED IN THE LOONEY BIN AS A MEANS OF HIDING! NOT TO MENTION THERE'S THE FACT THAT I STILL DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO MY POWERS AND I AM EXPECTED TO GO BACK TO THAT MAD HOUSE AND HAVE DINNER WITH HER FAMILY, WHO FOR ALL I KNOW, ARE JUST AS DESTRUCTIVE AS SHE IS!..."Danny shouted in frustration, nearly having a panic attack. "I'M ALMOST HALF-READY TO STRAIGHT UP DISAPPEAR UNTIL SHE EITHER MOVES AWAY OR MOVES ON! AT THIS POINT, I'LL ACCEPT ANYTHING TO GET HER OUT OF MY HAIR! I DON'T NEED WHATEVER STUPID COMPLAINTS YOU WANNA SPOUT, SO SHUT IT!..."He snapped, almost frothing at the mouth from his rant.
He stopped when Tucker slapped him across the face, snapping him out of it.
"Ouch!..."He hissed as he held his face and soon came to from his state of panic and hyperventilating.
"Danny, calm down. You're unraveling..."Jazz said, being the voice of reason for her brother.
"I'm sorry I snapped you guys but I'm just tired of this. It's exhausting, both physically and emotionally. I don't know how much more I can take of Katie's love!..."Danny said. "She's too obsessive to keep dating and not only is she tough to fight but I can't even overshadow her and who knows what other secrets she might be hiding! Her and her crazy family!..."He said, looking ready for his mind to snap in two.
Sam dropped her anger as she and Tucker now comforted their friend.
"You shouldn't have to deal with this..." She said
"You're among friends now, you can relax..." Tucker said.
"No, I can't...not until this is all over. Every minute that she's not in control of her own emotions is a minute where we might get another visit from her monster side...and even without it, she's overwhelming me in other ways..."He grumbled in an almost bitter way as he recalled this afternoon.
"You should have called us, you should have cut ties with her sooner..."Sam said, wishing to have come help him but her jealousy also influenced her a bit.
The ghost boy simply sighed at this and shook his head.
"You guys don't get why I didn't, if I am not careful, something bad could happen..."He said as he recalled today.
"Not only that but today, I was without my powers and she tried to keep me at her house, deciding not to call the hospital when she took me to her house when Vlad knocked me out...I'm just lucky that her parents came, otherwise I would've needed to get out by the second floor window..."He said, recalling the afternoon.
"Why she didn't call the hospital is just wrong. Loving girlfriend or not, you could've needed an actual professional for all she knew..." Jazz points out.
"She did ask if I was okay...but she saw that as a sign to keep me there..."Danny pointed out, taking a deep breath.
He couldn't stop shivering. It wasn't out of coldness, just discomfort. He felt the hands of his friends and sister on his back
"We got a figure a way to end this with Katie, you can't go on like this..."Tucker said.
Danny thought back to earlier to the confusing and stressful time in Katie's house...how she chased him...and yet...there had been some moments where she did listen...and what he almost did before Vlad ruined everything.
If he had no interruption, it may have work.
"Maybe it can still work..."He thought as he sighed.
"I already know what I am gonna do..."Danny said, having reached his limit.
"Really? What is it?..."Sam asked hopefully.
"I'm just gonna do what I should have done in the first place. I'm gonna tell Katie the truth..."Danny said.
"Say what?..."Sam questioned.
"I said that I am going to tell Katie everything...about her monster side and why I wanna break up..."Danny said.
"Danny, are you nuts? She could turn you into an actual ghost or something!..."Tucker said.
"You just told us that she basically kidnapped you and kept you like a trapped pet in her house! Now you wanna spill the beans and risk her hating you?!..."Sam exclaimed.
"Guys, I don't have a choice at this point. Each time I try to fight her monster form or try and get a handle on the situation, I fail miserably or something worse happens. Now Vlad is involved, making things more complicated than they already are. If I don't end this soon, things are just gonna keep getting crazier and crazier with her..."He said, still frustrated and worried for his own well-being.
"I just can't take this anymore..."He said before slumping over tired.
He was so tired.
He was tired of jumping over hoops to keep her happy to avoid her mood swings, he was tired of the forced smiling, compliments, the constant lipstick marks on his face that he hated and took forever to wash off, the chasing, the constant making out, the humiliating pet names, and the constant feeling of having to make sure that Katie doesn't lose her temper and take it out on an unsuspecting Amity Park.
He was also tired of her monster form and the destruction it could cause. He is also tired of the feeling of never letting his guard down and acting like he still wanted this relationship.
"At least, her monster form didn't show up today..."He thought as he shuddered at the thought before thinking back to the way his day went.
He recalled being pinned shirtless by Katie in her home, without his powers and with no one else there. That was a bad moment and he hated it but he was just thankful that even Katie seemed to have SOME self-control...but only a little.
He recalled how scared he got about Katie going too far and his state of undress. She was all over him at the water park and got even MORE excited the moment she saw him shirt-less.
He was just fortunate that she didn't have no restrictions...that she didn't also try to take his pants off him too but the fear had still been there. A fear that no ghost could cause and only she could bring in him.
"I can still feel her lips..."He thought as he recalled how she touched him and kissed his neck and torso, leaving marks where he was worried that people could all see.
That was a moment where he truly worried that her lust would give in. The ghost boy wasn't sure what he'd do if that day ever happened.
He never thought he'd live in a world where a girl was terrifying to him by not trying to be, just be as loving as possible. That and there's the fact that Vlad is now set on interfering with his love life as a new, low way to antagonize him.
"Still, she did stop to listen..."He thought as she recalled how upset she seemed when he unintentionally offended her when he thought she was trying to take things to the next level...and how upset she got when he spoke about it.
For someone who gets way too passionate when they are alone, she can be surprisingly prideful and know her limits, at least enough to not do THAT!
"I really don't know what to do anymore but I can't wait longer. I can't let things keep going as they are..."He thought.
"I think she really might listen if I try and get her to see reason..."Danny said.
His friends and sister still weren't sure.
"Danny...I don't know. Remember what we talked about...if she loses her temper on you, you might need to go ghost on her and fight her off...and who knows what she'd do if she finds out about your powers..."Sam said.
"Then I just gotta make sure she doesn't find out about my powers, like with everyone else..."Danny said while the goth girl sent him a flat look. "Besides, I already have one Fruitloop to deal with, I don't need to keep dealing with a love crazed ticking time bomb..."He added.
"I'm serious, Danny...I don't trust her, there is still a chance that she might attack you..."Sam said, being paranoid.
"I stopped trusting her the moment I saw Tucker's tracking device on her..."Danny said as crossed his arms. "You're not the one she's into, so I know that she might hear me out...I gotta try since I don't know what else to do..."He added.
However, his mind soon went back to when he first woke up from being passed out and how Katie acted when his was knocked out unconscious. She did tend to him and it was clear at that moment that she had standards on how she treated him. So, perhaps, she really will listen.
"Hopefully..."He thought as he continued.
He recalled just how concern Katie had been and he also knew another fact that he can't deny or keep forgetting about.
"Guys...as much as I hate to admit it...I don't think Katie really is evil or anything like that. I really think that she IS clueless about what she can do...and maybe I can do something to help her..."Danny said.
"Say what?! After everything she's put you through, you still defending her!..."Sam shouted.
"I'm not defending her! I'm just saying that she's nuts, not evil. I think that she might actually hear me out if I try and get her to listen to reason..."Danny said, convinced that she really is clueless of her monstrous actions.
"We don't know that. How do we know that she really IS that clueless and that she's not some manipulative mastermind trying to use you or destroy you like any other bad guy you have?..."Sam accused.
"Katie thought that this town was faking the ghost attacks for tourism when she first came here. She also thought all the chaos was by ghosts. I doubt she'd put two and two together since she hasn't even met Danny Phantom..."Danny pointed out.
"Hmm... that could work. If she hasn't met Danny Phantom, there's a chance she won't see it..." Jazz said.
"Will it?..." Sam asked in disbelief.
"It might..." Danny said.
"But she might piece it together..." Sam pointed out.
"No one else has so far..."Jazz pointed out.
"Fair point but I'm not sure..."Sam said.
"I am. I don't think she'd use it against me in her normal state since I still think she's clueless. Besides, Katie is crazy but I don't think she'd deliberately endanger people or cause damage on purpose. Maybe we were jumping to conclusions this time..."Danny said.
"She just held you at her house against your will!..."Sam pointed out.
"Don't remind me!..." He said, shooting a warning look that made her flinch.
"Sorry..."Sam said, remembering how he's not in the mood to bring up that touchy subject.
Danny sighed as he thought back to the obsessive blonde girl and how clueless she's been about the destruction she caused.
"If she can't see she's a monster, she might not be able to guess about my powers or use them against me if she really does have a vindictive side..." He thought.
"I've made up my mind, I'll do it..I'll to her about her monster side...her clinginess and get her to see the problem..."Danny said.
"You can't seriously think this will work?..." Tucker asked.
"I am serious...I know she's crazy, possessive, obsessive, overly cutesy and affectionate and what she does when she and I are alone is without question borderline harassment ...and that she drives me totally nuts...but I also know that she's sincere about caring about me..."He said as he recalled how Katie tended to him when he had been out cold and how concern she was before she got love crazy again.
"Her monster side and her lack of control is a major issue and I wanna end this relationship...but I think maybe...just maybe...she truly IS in the dark about what she can do...Maybe I can talk to her and convince her about the kind of destruction that she brings and she might listen...and if we play our cards right, we might even find a way to get it under control if I get her to listen to reason and see just what she does. I just need to do to talk to her about it in a time and place where she isn't in the mood to play tonsil hockey..."He said, remembering the constant kisses she planted on him.
His friends and sister heard this and were still a little skeptical about this plan.
"At least let us come with you and be on guard..."Sam said, being overprotective and also wanting to be sure that the blonde doesn't try anything funny.
"No way, I don't want you guys to get caught in a crossfire...I just need to make it through this dinner and then Katie away from there, some place she can't hurt anyone and then we can finally end this nightmare..."He said, looking like he is trying to convince himself more than anything on that.
"Okay, I trust you, Danny...I hope you know what you're doing..."Jazz said in concern.
"Yeah, me too..."Danny thought as he took a deep breath and mentally prepared himself on what's to come.
"At least, the next time I see her we won't be completely alone at her house..."He muttered but he knew that it won't be so easy.
"What time is it?..."Danny asked.
"About 1:15, man..."Tucker said as he glanced at his watch.
"I lost my powers almost an hour ago...which means I should at least have them back by dinner time...speaking of which, I need a walk. I wanna go clear my head before I have to get ready..."Danny said as he headed to the door.
"Are you sure that you should go out without your powers? What if Skulker comes for your pelt or something?..."Sam asked.
"Then I'll have an excuse not to go..."Danny said as he walked out, no longer caring.
His friends and sister shared concerned looks on their faces.
"This isn't going to end well, is it?..."Jazz asked.
"No duh..."Sam said in an obvious tone.
"Well, there's still a chance this works..."Tucker said.
"And it will...I have an idea on keeping him safe..."Sam said and went to get some gear but the other's didn't seem too confident.
"Why do I not like where this is heading?..."Jazz and Tucker both thought as they followed her.
With Danny
The ghost boy, who is still without his powers, was walking down the street, trying to clear his head and emotionally prepare himself for what he has to do tonight.
"To think that ghosts wanting to cause me trouble is now the least of my problems..."Danny said as he kept walking, his mind racing with ideas.
He didn't notice a trio of pigeons who were watching him or a cat that was riding on a large dog's back as they walked past him. He was too mentally stressed to notice as he kept walking.
"Maybe I can get a Cujo to cause trouble so that her parents ban me like Sam's would..."He thought as tried to form a plan but shook his head.
Even he can't control Cujo very well and he didn't want any harm to come to him or anyone else, so that was out.
"BOINGY-BOINGY-BOINGY-BOINGY!..." He heard down the street.
"Huh?..." He thought, that's when he saw it.
He saw a high-end sports car covered in chewing gum as the driver cursed family unfriendly words at the mess. Danny also saw three figures go down the alley.
Despite his lack of power, he followed those figures until he spotted them. Once there, he gasped in shock.
"What the heck?..."Danny exclaimed as he rubbed his eyes and stared with his mouth agape when he saw what appeared before him.
There were three creatures that that somehow look like dogs wearing clothes and they could walk upright. Two of them looked male and one of them looked female and all three of them had funny looks on their faces.
"These things... I've never seen anything like them before..."Danny said at the sight of them, since they didn't trigger his ghost sense.
Then again, his powers are still on the fritz.
"Finally...an ACTUAL appearance..."The tall one said, looking impatient.
"It's been...what...a year since the first chapter so far..."The shorter one said.
"Well, it's not like we haven't been busy these days..."The female said, remembering their "day-job" has kept them occupied.
Danny just stared dumbly at them, realizing a bit late he should be asking questions.
"Uh...who...are you three?..."He asked, totally lost here.
The three dog creatures grinned and approached them.
"The names are Yakko, Wakko and Dot..."The short one, Wacko said with a grin.
"We're the Warner brothers..."Yakko said.
"And the Warner SISTER..."Dot added in annoyance. "My name is Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca III...but like I said, just call me "Dot"..."She said.
Danny blinked at that strange introduction.
"Uh...okay...uh...what's a Warner?..."He asked.
"Someone in need of a cinematic universe that doesn't depend on Godzilla..." Yakko joked.
"We're from Burbank, California but we also bring greetings from Acmeville...the wackiest town in America..."The short male with the red cap said with pride.
"Acmeville?..."Danny questioned before it hit him.
"That's where Katie is from..."He whispered.
"What are you doing here?..."He demanded.
"Calm yourself there, buddy..."The female with the pink skirt said to him, causing Danny to shut up for a moment.
"I don't think he's aware of who we are... even during the time we used to say "Nickel-any"... which isn't even a word..."The tall one said.
"I think we were on the sister channel they dumped shows off to die..."The short one said.
"That made no sense at all!..." Danny shouted, not seeing any logic in what they just said.
The three creatures looked amused to say the least and act like he was agreeing with them.
"Exactly, it's such a terrible way to treat others' works, especially in THIS line of work..."The tall one said, as he looked to the viewers who were reading this fic, giving them a wink.
"Okay, deja vu much..."Wakko said, scratching his head.
"Hey, at least his new best bud in red ain't here..."Yakko said, not wanting to mention him by name.
All the while Danny wondered what is going on with them.
"Who are you talking to?!..."Danny demanded, not understanding anything here since he didn't see anyone.
"Wouldn't you like to know, Mr. Most Popular Guy for Crossover Ships..."The female said with a giggle and Danny wondered if he is dealing with maniacs here.
"Huh?..." Danny questioned, wondering what that even meant.
"About as clueless as the people thinking ghosts did all those pranks we did..." Yakko points out.
"Wait a minute? You three are the ones who flooded the school in puddling and you three we behind the anvil attack?..."Danny exclaimed in shock.
"Took ya a while to figure that one out, huh, bub..."Dot said sarcastically.
'How? When? Why do any of that?..."He asked, lost.
"Best way to spend time without breaking the law and getting caught..."Yakko answered.
"Plus, we needed to kill some time..."Wacko added before eating a large sandwich that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Thankfully, the way streaming works has kept us from getting bored..." Dot added.
"Though our reboot could use more charm..."Yacko added.
"Yeah, but we get to have fun with all these gadgets..."Wacko said, pulling tablets, smartphones, headsets, and many Bluetooth devices from his hat.
The siblings agreed as they grabbed a few items, playing around, looking like mindless zombies in a parodic way.
"Now, let's show of what makes us who we are!..." Wakko said before taking out a comically large sandwich and eating it in one gulp.
"What the heck?..." Danny asked quietly as these creatures kept up their antics.
"I'm wondering how our gags would've worked with his animation style?..." Yakko asks.
"What do you mean?..." Dot asks.
"I mean, we were drawn to look like classic cartoon characters. Frankly, Kim Possible and the animated version of the Clerks guys looked like they'd fit more than us..." Yakko said.
"True, but he's not dealing with them. He's got us. Plus, I'm way cuter than any redhead cheerleader..."Dot said with her arms crossed.
"Not the green chick..." Yakko said quickly.
"Aww... but I would've loved to meet her..." Wakko said.
"Me too..." Yakko said.
"HELLO, NURSE!..." Both brothers said.
Rolling her eyes, Dot pulled out a comically large mallet and walked them both with it, flattening them like pancakes.
"Boys..." She muttered.
As the two popped back to normal, their sole audience member rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"Did that really just happened?..."He said, feeling completely bewildered as they put away the devices and ran around in a cartoonish manner.
"I bet this part would be easy to animate in this style!..." Wakko said, drinking a large bottle of soda quickly.
"Yeah, do it..."Yakko said as he and Dot braced themselves and Wakko burped loudly, the result was a nearby window breaking.
Danny frowned at this.
"Okay, this has gone on long enough..."He thought as he quickly pulled out his thermos and decided to just capture them before they cause any more trouble but to his shock, nothing happened.
"What? Why aren't they going in?..."He whispered in disbelief as the Fenton thermos wasn't working, it wasn't sucking them inside.
He realized these things are different, namely non-ectoplasmic. That means that whatever these things are...they aren't ghosts.
"If they aren't ghosts, then what-..."He was cut off when the one called Wacko took his thermos.
"Soup? I hope it's chicken noodle..."Wakko said as he opened it.
He frowned.
"Hey, there's nothing but green stains in here..."He complained.
"Hey, give that back, that's not for soup!..."Danny shouted as he pulled it away.
"Does Harold Ramis, may he rest in peace, know you plagiarized his work?..." Yakko asks.
"What are you talking about?..." Danny asked.
"We're talking about the other soft reboot that people love... not as much as ours, though..." Yakko states.
"Mostly because we always know how to bring a laugh, even in today's media..."Dot added, pointing to Wacko, who had a large, wooden mallet out. "Not everyone can appreciate a good mallet now and then..."She added.
Meanwhile, Danny watched all this as Wakko threw the mallet, hitting someone on the foot in the process.
"What the heck is going on?!..."Danny thought as he sees that things were getting wackier by the second.
These three dog creature things then noticed their phone alarms went off by sounding like a large clock.
"Union break!..."The Warners shouted as they began to take out food from nowhere and eat.
Danny just stared slack jawed at this and shook his head.
"I so wish this was a bad dream..."Danny thought as he dragged his hand down his face.
"TA DA! We're animany! Totally insane-y!..."The Warners said in union.
"Way less tame-y..."Dot added while she and her brothers bowed to an invisible audience, which just confirmed something to the ghost boy.
"You guys are maniacs, aren't you?..."Danny asked.
"No, we're ANIMANIACS!..."Yakko said, wiggling a finger in a knowing way.
"Those are the facts..."Wacko added.
"Here's our card..."Dot said, holding up what looked like a business card with their logo on it.
"Animaniacs?..."Danny questioned as they huddled together.
"Exactly! We're zany to the max!..."The trio said as they did their premiere entrance.
"Zany to the max? Katie said the same thing on our first date..."Danny said, piecing bits together.
"And there's bologna in our slacks!..." Dot said as she slices some meat out of nowhere into Yakko's pants.
"Ehhhh... technically my slacks. I'm the only one wearing pants..." Yakko said.
Danny just stared incredulously.
"Kind of glad Sam and Tucker aren't here to see this..."He muttered.
"Why'd would you say that?..." Wakko asks as she took out a comically large ham and ate it fast.
"Uh... why are you talking like one of the Beatles?..." Danny asks.
"Blame the voice his actor chose..." Yakko said.
"Huh?!..."He said before shaking his head.
"I bet he wishes for a different blonde from our parent company were with him. Like Supergirl... or that blonde from that one web series. I think it's called Sapphire, or something..." Dot said.
"Now there's a blonde with anger issues I bet he'd like. I know I wouldn't mind getting-..."
"Stop!..." Yakko said to Wakko. "Not sure how many blatantly inappropriate jokes we can get away with here..." Yakko insisted.
Danny still had no idea what they were talking about and grew increasingly eager to get rid of them as they continued.
"Anyone ever tell you guys you're living chaos?..." Danny asks.
"Who wouldn't say that after meeting us?..."Dot asked. She pulled a large bomb out from her dress, much to Danny's shock and he tried to stop what she was doing.
However, the girl Warner threw it to Yacko.
"Especially after more than a minute?..."Yacko held the bomb as a timer counted down, showing its emanate destruction in the next second. He dropped it into Wacko's mouth as the red hat Warner opened comically wide and gulped the device in one sitting.
Wacko wiped his mouth with a napkin that came from nowhere before expanding a hundred times his size. Shrinking back down, he burped loudly as smoke came forth.
"Excuse me..."Wacko said with a smirk.
"Need a mint?..."Yacko pulled one from his slacks, reaching from the inside like he was foraging through a bag.
"Umm... eww!..." Danny said, grossed out.
"You'd be surprised how desensitized people are to this, from Burbank to Acmeville..." Yakko said as he tossed the mint into his brother's mouth like a basketball.
"You guys said that you've been to Acmeville. Do you three know a girl by the name of Katie Kaboom?..."He asked in a pleading way.
"You mean Katie, yeah we know her..."Wacko said.
"We go way back, to the old days... not many people like her though..."Yakko said, recalling how few "appearances" she had in those days.
"We also know that you're her new beau..."Dot said knowingly.
"Y-You do?..." Danny asks.
"Sure, we do. Nice goin' there, lover boy..."Yakko said as he winked.
"Yeah, Mr. Kaboom-to-be! Most guys wouldn't last this long..."Wakko said as he nudged him as he threw flower petals at the ghost boy in a frolicking manner.
Danny growled in anger as he felt they were mocking him.
"Will you all cut that out! I'm SO not gonna marry her! I don't even want to be with her anymore!..."He snapped but they ignored him as they continued their antics.
"You sure? You both make such a cute couple, just like the last story we saw you two in..."Dot said, though it sounded like she was teasing him.
"What?! What sto- you know what? I don't care that much. Can you please tell me... what exactly is she?..."He asked, needing to know.
"A caricature of someones stepdaughter being overemotional..." Wakko said flatly.
"Huh?..." Danny asks, not understanding.
"A less than obvious copy of the Hulk..." Dot said.
"What? No, I mean why does she turn into that... thing?..." He said, practically begging but they kept answering in a tone that sounded meta.
"A stand-in for why teenage girls act the way they do for a per-...specific amount of time..." Yakko answered and the ghost boy nearly screamed.
"Can you three please give me a straight answer?!..." Danny questioned.
"I'm not sure we're that straight..."Dot said with a shrug.
"Plus, it's not in our contract..."Wacko said with another shrug.
"What the heck are you talking about?!..."Danny exclaimed, looking like he was about to lose it.
Suddenly, the one named Wakko pulled out an old alarm clock that started ringing.
"Uh oh... chapter's too long. We gotta go..." Dot said.
"Chapter? What?..." Danny asked.
"Sorry kid. Gotta go. Hopefully it won't be forever before we show up again!..." Yakko said, looking up towards the author for taking so long to actually let their names be said.
Danny looked at where he was staring before looking back at Yakko.
"Who are you talking to?..."He shouted but got no answer.
"BYE!..." The trio said before taking off.
"Have fun with Katie..."Wacko said.
"Don't stay out too late like most teenagers..."Dot teased as they got further.
"Goodnight everybody!..."Yakko shouted as he blew a kiss at no one in particular.
The Warners soon ran up the streets, laughing madly until they were soon out of sight.
Danny just stood there, his left eye twitching and his patience for craziness lowered further and his consciousness now sure it was reaching insanity.
"Crazy girlfriends who turn into monsters and three dog things that act like cartoon characters who break the laws of physics every few seconds...I suddenly miss the days when I just had to stop ghosts from destroying the town..."He thought as he felt a migraine.
He knew that he should probably deal with those things before they cause anymore trouble but he had other things to deal with.
"First, I'll deal with Katie...then I'll deal with those Warner things..."He muttered as started to leave.
Speaking of which, he heard some rumbling in a nearby alley and sighed.
"What now?..."He muttered as he went to check.
He soon saw a ghostly bat near a dumpster, who seemed distracted by something.
Danny saw it and sighed.
"At least there's some level of normalcy..."He said as he pulled out his thermos and sucked it up before it noticed or got away.
Once done, he clasp it shut and placed it back in his pocket for the time being.
"What was it even doing out here anyway?..."He said as he left for home, deciding to ignore this question and shrug it off.
Since fresh air no longer seems to be an option, he left for home, deciding to call it quits as he got ready for tonight. He was hoping things had reached the pinnacle of craziness.
Unknown to him, the reason the ghost bat had been distracted was because it had been chasing after two mice who had tried (and failed) to capture it and was about to seriously hurt them before Danny stepped in and the ghost boy was suddenly swept away by the thermos, leaving the helpless mice safe and sound.
However, these were not ordinary mice and they witness everything the boy did.
"Pinky, did you see that?!..."One of the mice said in disbelief.
"I sure did, Brain. Mr. Batty got turned into soup! And right before I could ask him if bear hugs from bears were really that nice..."The one named Pinky said in a goofy way.
"No Pinky, that boy captured it...he used some kind of thermos-like device to capture that ghost..."The one called Brain said, looking astonished as he pointed to where Danny left.
"Ghosts? That was a ghost?..."Pinky asked in a clueless way, only to be bopped on the head by the shorter mouse.
"Of course that was a ghost, Pinky. Why do you think we came all the way to Amity Park?..."Brain asked but he knew his sidekick just forgot the whole point of this trip.
"I thought it was to enjoy the scenery and the local cuisine of the ironically named fast food restaurant before we visit the mansion that used to belong to the cheese king..."Pinky said.
"That's only a side benefit. Here, we came to harness the powers of ghosts in order to find a way to their dimension in order to use them and then take over the world..."Brain said before grumbling while he looked at his recently failed invention.
"Unfortunately, my ghost containment cube seemed to have failed..."Brain said in frustration at the ruined gadget in his hands.
He then smirked wickedly as an idea formed in his hand.
"So, I suppose we will just have to outsource the technology..."He said and rubbed his hands together.
"NARF! And we can visit the cheese king's mansion for free samples, since the last one was a bit underwhelming..."Pinky said while his partner rolled his eyes.
The two mice left as they...or rather Brain, began to make plans for tonight as new steps to the plan has been formed.
This time, involving that kid with the thermos-like device.
Later
Danny was getting ready for dinner. Danny looked at himself in the reflection and frowned.
He took a deep sigh, wishing he wasn't wearing his Sunday best.
"Maybe if I show up as a slob, they'll ban me from the house?..." He said to himself as the phone went off. Seeing who it is, he rolled his eyes.
"Hello?..."He said.
"Hi Pookie-bear..."A flirty voice said on the other end.
"I can't believe I'm missing Inviso-Bill..." He thought before speaking.
"Hey Katie..I'm just getting ready..."Danny said as he just wanted to get this over with.
"Aww, perfect. I was just getting dressed when I saw this adorable little panda bear on the news and thought about you..."She said in a cutesy way.
Danny rolled his eyes at that.
"She can't seem to think of anything else, can she?..."He thought as she kept talking.
"It was so adorable, just like you. Anyway, it was when I was thinking about you while I was putting my dress on when I thought about that time in the close..."She said in a hinting way.
"A closet?..." Danny asked, clueless since there had been lots of times she trapped him in a closet.
"Yeah, remember that one time we were in a closet together...just after we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend...remember..."Katie flirtatiously reminded in a coy tone.
Danny sweated as he recalled that moment. It was just after Katie asked him to be her boyfriend and started dating him, getting very into kissing him.
He can still remember how she was when he didn't know about her powers. Back when they first started dating and before things turned a turn for the worse.
FLASHBACK
It was late in the evening and Danny was still nervous, on a date with his new girlfriend.
Said girlfriend was now in the middle of giving him a couple of kisses in the privacy of a closet.
"Mmm~..."Katie let out in delight before pulling away in an audible "muah".
"Are you enjoying it as I am?..."She asked, only to see a dazed look on the boy's face.
"Uh...sure..."Danny said, still in a daze and Katie giggled at how her new boyfriend reacted.
"Aw, so cute..."She said before kissing his cheek, making him turn red.
"Wow..."Danny thought in a daze as she kept this up.
He was still kinda surprised that just about 5 minutes ago, he became her boyfriend but didn't expect it to go this far so soon.
Still...
"Wow...I'm actually being kissed by a hot blonde in a closet and not one ghost has shown up to ruin the moment. I must be the luckiest guy in town..."He thought as she kept doing it.
She did notice his expression and smiled, happy he's liking it.
"I guess he's comfortable enough to try again..."She thought mischievously as she wanted to try something again...something she did in the heat of the moment a few minutes ago but now she wants to go further.
Plus, she wondered how'd he react to frenching before actually doing that again.
The blonde girl giggled mischievously before asking the all important question of the day.
"So, new boyfriend...this time... traditional or French?..."She asked flirtatiously, wanting to move to some more advanced techniques
"What, like food?..."Danny asked in a clueless tone.
Katie just giggled and waved her hand as she politely corrected him.
"Silly... I meant kissing..."She said as she did the walking-man on his chest, before bopping him on the nose.
Danny heard this, his face became reader and he gulped.
"Another make-out session already?..."He thought as she did that a few moments ago before she asked him out and now she's asking for a second helping so soon.
However, she started fluttering her eyelashes and making a purring sound, even twirling some of her hair with a finger as she did so. Danny felt his hormones acting up, he stared in an almost hypnotized kinda of manner.
"Well, I could go for either one really...so I guess it's dealers choice..."Danny said, looking a little flustered right now.
So far, she has kissed him traditionally on the lips for the last five minutes but now she seems interested in taking his breath away again.
"Good...cause I know exactly what to pick..."She said in a coy way.
"Are ya ready?..."She whispered into his ear, licking her lips and making him shudder in delight.
"Su-..."Before he could finish, she kissed him again, wrapping her arms around him as she snuggled closer, almost like capturing prey.
"Okay this is kinda much..."He thought as she tightly embraced him, he felt something soft slip inside his mouth now.
"Actually, this isn't so bad..."He thought while stunned for a moment, still reeling before melting a bit.
She pulled away for a moment to look at the boy's face, admiring him.
"You're such a good kisser..."She whispered into his ear, making him even redder.
She giggled before using her tongue again to lead the venture, pulling him closer to do so. The ghost boy soon tasted the girl as she entered, getting more passionate by the minute.
"Woah, she's really taking the lead in this...Actually, I should at least try to keep up with her..."Danny thought, trying his best to return the favor
"Wonderful, he's kissing me back! This rocks!..."Katie thought in bliss as her tongue continued to dance with his before she let her emotions and hormones get the better of her.
The blonde girl pushed him into the wall to deepen the kiss, melting into the passion. She got really into it and got a bit rougher, while the boy just tried to keep up with her. However, she got even more excited and got rougher, the force of Katie getting even closer caused them to fall on the floor and Katie just ignored that as she didn't stop the momentum of their lip locking.
Danny was still too stunned to even realize the full extent of the kiss but he enjoyed it greatly, despite feeling overwhelmed right now.
Still, he did enjoy this. He just mentally shrugged and went for it. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed back, wrapping his tongue around Katie's and did his best to keep up with..
The two teens continued making out in privacy and the ghost boy was unaware that this wouldn't be the last time this happens...
End Of Flashback
Present Time
Danny gulped as he tried to shake that memory away.
"I so regret that day..."He thought as Katie continued talking over the phone.
"Anyway Cutie, I just wanted to remind you that dinner with my family is in half an hour..."Katie said.
"I won't forget..."He said, really hoping to end the conversation soon.
He didn't want to head back to her house but had no choice, he was invited. Plus, he couldn't make any progress if he didn't move forward.
Katie giggled and then spent the next few minutes flirting with him over the phone before hearing her mother calling for her.
"Anyway Sweetie, I gotta go help my mom in the kitchen. See you in a little while, I love you..."She said, making a smooching sound over the phone.
Danny flinched upon hearing that and tried not to drop the phone on the floor after hearing her use use the big L-word again.
"Can she go one day without kissing me, saying that word or making that sound?..."The ghost boy thought as he was still not used to that.
"Bye Katie..."Danny said before hanging up, groaning loudly.
He soon checked the time and saw that it was about 5:30pm. He should get his powers back within an hour but he'd better leave now if he wanted to get to Katie's house before he was late.
"Well, I better get going if I don't want to be late..."He said as he almost wished any of his foes with a grudge would appear so he'd have an excuse not to go.
Nothing happened.
"The one time I want to be delayed by ghosts and somehow the universe denies me..."He thought in annoyance.
Later
Danny, now dressed in his good clothes, reluctantly flew to the Kaboom house. Once he arrived to Katie's house, he wanted to bolt bad.
He stared at the house repressively, he shuddered as he recalled that this is the same house where he nearly suffocated by forceful, non-stop kissing and being chased around by a certain lovesick blonde and nearly thought he was going to be forced into something he's not ready for.
The ghost boy felt a cold shiver run down his spine as the mere thought terrified him more than any realm of the Ghost Zone. He sighed before shaking it off and stepping forward.
"For once in my life I wish it was a school night but The sooner I get this done, the better..."He thought as he took a deep breath.
He would just get through this dinner, then find an excuse to get Katie alone, in a secluded place where she can't hurt anyone and then do what has to be done before things get even crazier.
"Here we go..."He whispered as he walked to the door.
He knocked the door and hoped someone else answered. Surprise, surprise, it was Katie who answered and she smiled.
"Danny, you're here..."She said as she hugged him...tightly.
"Lucky me..."He thought sarcastically, wondering if this strength is natural or an extension of her powers as the blonde girl kept hugging him.
"I'm so glad your here, Sweetie...on time..."She said before eyeing. "My, don't you look Handsome, cleanly dressed and looking even cuter than usual..."She said flirtatiously.
"Why am I not dating a hot but well-meaning alien fighter or a martial artist cheerleader? Either has to be less crazy than this!..."Danny thought as he pinned that thought for another time, he had to deal with the person he's reluctantly dating now.
"I'm ready to meet your cousin..."He said as she wrapped her arm around him.
"She's not here yet, in the meantime..."She said as she leaned closer. "You look REALLY good, Pookie-Bear..."She whispered as she had a familiar look on her face.
"Oh, great here it comes..."He thought as she puckered her lips, about to plant another kiss on him but thankfully, Mrs. Kaboom's voice stopped her.
"Katie darling, who's at the door?..."Katie's mother called, making her daughter pout.
"It's Danny, mother..."Katie called before turning to him.
"Sorry beau but we might need to save the fun stuff until later..."Katie said.
"Thank goodness..."Danny thought in relief as she lead him inside.
"Okay..." He said flatly.
"I really hope this cousin of hers gets a flat and calls it off..." He thought as he figured the fewer people in the house means it's more likely they'll have privacy for him to get her alone and finally talk to her about their problem.
Unknown to him, Sam, Tucker and even Jazz had come to spy on the dinner in case Danny needed backup...and right now they were hidden behind some hedges, using binoculars with some of them feeling uncomfortable about they're situation but for completely different reasons.
"This feels so wrong..." Jazz mutters.
"But it's necessary. It's how we kept an eye on Danny when he was with Valerie..."The goth muttered under her breath.
Hearing that, Jazz sent a cold glare at her.
"Wait... you what?..."She exclaimed, looking at her in disapproval.
Realizing what she said, Sam cleared her throat when their target appeared.
"Oh look! There he is!..."She said as she found a window that had a clear view of the ghost boy and the blonde time bomb who had both her arms wrapped around one of his.
They saw Danny inside to where Katie's family is, meaning things were getting started.
"At this rate, her parents will be totally on board with him..." Tucker said.
"We gotta do something..." Sam said.
"We will... and don't think you're off the hook for what you admitted..." Jazz said quickly.
Sam groaned at that as they continued to spy on them in secret, figuring she'll have to deal with Jazz later.
Inside
Danny found himself in Katie's living room again, the same one where he had woken up earlier and nearly got suffocated by the lovesick blonde.
However, this time her parents and younger brother are here and Katie was acting like a perfect angel in front of her family and gave a very convincing performance.
Katie's parents were now seated on the couch, her mother had been knitting something while her dad was reading the paper while Tinker was playing with an air plane.
"Hello, wonderful family...my boyfriend Danny is here. I trust that we're dressed appropriately.."Katie said innocently, not unlike when she had dinner with Danny's parents.
"Please say no..."Danny thought as the blonde girl kept silent.
The two smiled.
"Hello, Danny...how have you been?..."Mr. Kaboom asked in a friendly sounding way.
"Uh...I'm fine, sir..."Danny said, kinda lying.
"It's so lovely that you'll be joining us for dinner..."Mrs. Kaboom said, putting her knitting needles away in a basket.
"Uh, thanks..Uh...it's good to see you all again..."Danny said.
"Of course you'd come, cause Katie wouldn't stop bringing it up every five minutes..."Tinker muttered under his breath.
"Tinker..."Both his parents scolded him and he shrugged innocently.
Danny blinked.
"They almost seem like a normal family..."He thought, though he knew better. "Still, do they even know about her powers...or are they like MY parents?..."He thought as he never considered that until now.
He realized Katie was the only one he ever dealt with and, if they had these abilities, Amity Park would have more than one creature running rampant.
Before he could consider it more, Mr. Kaboom cleared his throat and raised his phone.
"Tiffany and Mitch just called, they said that they are on their way...they'll be here within the hour, they just need to change a tire..."Mr. Kaboom said, explaining why they are running late.
"In the meantime, I'll bring some appetizers..."Mrs. Kaboom said as she turned to her daughter. "Katie, can you help me bring them in..."She asked.
"Sure, Mom..."Katie said.
"Darn, was really hoping for alone time with Danny..." She thought before sighing. "I guess I gotta wait until after dinner..."She thought.
"I'll be back in a bit, Danny..."Katie said.
"Take your time... 100 years would be wonderful..."Danny thought as she left with her mom.
With them in the kitchen and Tinker going to get some water, it left Danny and Mr. Kaboom alone.
"This would be weird even if I wasn't about to break up with his monster daughter..." Danny thought.
The middle age man then cleared his throat before speaking, trying to break the ice and start a conversation with his daughter's new boyfriend
"So...uh...how's school?..."Mr. Kaboom asked, sounding awkward.
"Uh, okay I guess...uh, a few Cs here and there but nothing too out of ordinary for this town..."Danny asked.
"I see, that's good to know..."Mr. Kaboom answered, seemingly unaffected.
"So...why ask?..."Danny asked.
"Just wondering..."The man said looking like he was afraid of something.
Mentally, Danny figured he might be worried about Katie having a temper tantrum at school, but said nothing.
He still had no proof that they even had the same abilities she has. The ghost boy racked his brain around as he tried to think of something else to talk about.
"Well, you know we never had one of Katie's boyfriends invited to dinner before..."Mr. Kaboom said.
"Gee, I wonder why..."Danny thought sarcastically. "Oh, I guess they just didn't have the time..."He said in a fake clueless way.
"I suppose so..."Mr. Kaboom said, scratching his head.
"Wait... do Katie's past boyfriends even know about her power?..." Danny thought.
Since Katie seemed in the dark, it's possible they didn't know.
"She never let it happen around me, she's unknowingly hiding it..."He thought, finding this even more frustrating.
Soon Katie and her mother arrived with a couple of plates of appetizers such as mozzarella sticks and Katie offered some to Danny.
"Here Danny, try some..."Katie said, eager to see him eat something she made again.
"Uh...thanks..."Danny said as he took it to avoid being rude.
He ate it and then noticed everyone was staring at him.
"Uh... yummy. This is really good, Mrs. Kaboom..."Danny said while Mrs. Kaboom smiled at the compliment.
"I am glad that you like that, My daughter insisted on helping me make it..."She said while her daughter blushed.
"Mom..."Katie said, looking embarrassed.
"Oh, don't be so bashful..."Mrs. Kaboom said before turning to Danny. "Just wait until dinner and what we have for dessert, I hope you like apple cobbler. .."Mrs. Kaboom said nicely, looking a bit calmer.
"Uh, yeah...I do..."He said as took a bite before he realized he had to make more small talk.
"So...what's for dinner? I'm pretty hungry now that I think about it..."He said to Katie's mother, who felt herself relax further.
"Oh, roast beef, mashed potatoes and some yams..."Mrs. Kaboom said, hoping her hard work pays off.
"It was quite the haul you brought form the market for this..." Katie said.
"It was no trouble..." Mrs. Kaboom insisted.
"Yeah, no ghost attacks at the store. We still have yet to see this Danny Phantom the town speaks about either..."Mr. Kaboom said, scratching his chin in thought.
"You haven't?..." Danny asks, surprised.
"Yeah, I'm starting to think this Danny Phantom's just an urban legend, invented to give people a little comfort here. I haven't seen him once..." Katie said.
"She hasn't seen me...at least in her normal form... which might make his easier since she won't use that info against me..."He thought.
He still isn't so sure if Katie could be that vindictive but he'd rather be safe than sorry...plus, this is a girl who nearly lost it when he mentioned he didn't want to introduce her to his parents.
It is probably best not to bring up Danny Phantom until he thinks it's safe to go ghost or refuse her right now until he has proper reasons to do so.
"Hopefully, he won't be needed. The less I have to deal with her monster form, the better.."He thought.
The ghost boy decided to see if he could get some information on them and see if they could reveal anything about Katie's other side.
"So...uh...what's your background? Irish? Italian?..."Danny asked.
"Not too sure..."Mr. Kaboom said.
"Really?..."Danny asked as Mr. Kaboom simply answered in a way that implies he's clueless.
"Oh, been so long I don't remember..."He said in his Jimmy Stewart-esque voice.
"Really? You're not sure where the name Kaboom came from?..."Danny asked.
"Not really..."The man said.
"Darn it!..."Danny thought as he tried again.
He figured backgrounds might give a hint as to how Katie is how she is. He then had another idea.
"So..uh...no one in the family with...emotional problems or biological ones?..."Danny asked, wondering if a family thing.
"I'm not quite sure. At least none that I'm unaware of..."Mrs. Kaboom said, perplexed by his questioned.
"Really? So, does any family wouldn't happen to suffer any anger issues or emotional distress, would they?..."He asked again, hoping for some kind of info.
"Well, I can't really recall..."The man answered and the boy mentally frowned.
"That's a bust... maybe another idea..."He thought.
"So...uh...you guys are from a place called Acmeville? It must not have been easy to move from a place that you all have so much history at..."Danny asked, almost wishing they never moved here in the first place.
To his dismay, they looked they answered surprisingly positively.
"I will admit that we sometimes feel a little homesick but we realized that this was all for the better. The billboard we saw when we came here was right, Amity Park is "A Nice Place To Live" and there's certainly no denying that..."Mrs. Kaboom said in a perky way.
"Yeah, this town is very nice and my new job is amazing, much better than my last one...we also haven't had...uh...any home accidents since we moved into this lovely town of yours..."Mr. Kaboom said feeling pretty grateful of that.
Danny raised a brow at that.
Suddenly, there was a knocking at the door. A quick, almost panicked knocking.
"That must be them..." Mr. Kaboom said as he got up.
"Oh, I'll get the salad ready..." Mrs. Kaboom said. "Tinker, wash your hands..."She said.
Tinker groaned as he left the room. Danny realized they were now alone. As hungry as he was getting, he wanted to get this done.
"Huh... maybe now's a good time to-..."He stopped when he saw Katie groan, slouching forward.
"Uh... you okay?..." Danny asks.
"Not really but I have to at least try to get along with her, if only in front of my parents. I know Tiffany is family but she's a total snob..."Katie muttered.
"Then why do you have to be here and put up with her?..."Danny asked, mostly to avoid an unpleasant encounter and get her alone to talk about their problem.
"My dad's and her dad are brothers, so we gotta be nice..."Katie explained, sighing
Ever since the wedding, she and Tiffany had gotten along better...even if she can still be a pain at times.
Right now, she'd rather be attacked by a ghost than deal with her snooty cousin.
The ghost boy realized she doesn't want to be here and tried to suggest a way out of this
"We could always just say we need something for class and go?..."He suggested but the blonde shook her head.
"I'd love to do that... but Dad made it clear I gotta be here..." Katie said.
That's when the door opened and Katie's mother greeted her guests.
"Hello, extended family. It's been so long..." The mother said to her guests.
Katie rolled her eyes as she heard them arrive.
"It's time..."She muttered.
Danny saw the two guests walk in. He saw a dark haired woman who looked to be in her early twenties, she wore an expensive looking purple dress and had a big diamond ring on her finger, as well as a snobby look on her face. Next to her was a dark haired man who seemed timid for some.
He turned to Katie and whispered.
"Is this her?..." Danny asked in a whisper.
"Yup..." Katie said, wanting to leave.
However, Danny realized this night might not go as according to plan as the unofficial family reunion began.
Oh boy.

REPLIES to my loyal and totally awesome reviewer:
RonaldM40196867: Yes, I say that she can have mood swings.
Jebest4781: Yeah but as shown here, Danny MIGHT have ended up doing that if Katie's parents didn't show up when they did.
Pokemon fan 1991: Thank you :)
Invader Johnny: Looks like it.
Luiz4200: He is trying to do that but Vlad ruined his last attempt. Still, he's gonna try again.
Jacob Cook: :)
LockAndKey989: We shall see.
Frost Hunter: Thank you :)
Sound Venom: Yeah and Vlad made things worse for him.
William Escobar 608:
1) JAJAJA XD
Gracias :)
:) I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to read and review :)
