Valentine, Lucy, and Steven were met by two soldiers and a shorter rotund man in a two piece suit with a bowler hat on.
'What is Senator Phillips doing here... there shouldn't have been any troubles involving me in any way, that the public could know of. I suppose the times at a hand that something was bound to happen… if it were at a different time, it would be better for everyone's outcome. Then again... I shouldn't as of yet, I helped Phillips get his position... I doubt he'd have a reason as of yet to do me ill.'
"Lucy, Steven, please make yourself at home. One of the soldiers around, would be more than happy to help you two with anything, I'll be with you both in a while."
'D.4.C. fixate yourself on the Senator's movements. Let's see what Phillip's is here for.'
Valentine gave a curt nod, to both Steven, and Lucy, walking towards the two soldiers and Phillip's. The sound of hard wood hitting wood was heard, as he made his way steadily to his Destination. The noise making sure all knew who was the lead in this atmosphere.
"Senator Phillip's, it's a pleasure to see you again, is there something going on?" He looked straight at Phillip's eyes, his gaze, not emitting any challenge.
"Well Mr. Valentine, I was hoping to come and see if everything was alright. You haven't responded for the past week or two, even with all the letters, and birds I've sent to get to write you. It was worrisome, especially with the disappearance of so many after the race."
"Ah… I see, men could you both leave us, we have some things to discuss. There should be quite a few other men bringing supplies and crates in. They might need an extra pair of hands." Valentine gestured towards the door. "Both of the Steel's need help getting settled, I'm sure they could use some help."
Before Mista could even speak, John the senior officer spoke aloud.
"Course sir! Be more than happy ta help out. Come on my boy! We got sum work ta do." John's arm was around the back of Mista, and was already guiding him to the door.
"Come, follow me, Senator. Let's go to my office, we can discuss anything up there, I should have a few bottles of bourbon and whiskey, as well. Help put some ease on you after such a long ride."
The Senator's eyes lit up at his statement, more than happy to oblige in some friendly drinking. "Of course, Mr. President I could hardly turn down such an offer from a man like you sir!"
Valentine was already walking up the stairs of the main hall room, to the second story. Phillip's made his way behind as fast as he could, never slipping despite how fast he was going. D.4.C. was watching as Valentine was walking, floating in the air, with its arms wrapped right around Valentine's chest, as though it was holding onto its mother and looking at something new for the first time. It watched Phillip's going fast, but still struggling to keep up with Valentine who was already well off the stairs and on the second floor.
'Well, I doubt he would even think of doing something to me seeing the state he is in currently, though, I still shouldn't disregard the possibility of him trying something.'
Valentine's boots finally halted their sound as he suddenly ceased his walking, reaching an oak door. With the grace of a dancer, Valentine opened the door without it making a single noise.
"Make yourself comfortable Senator."
'Shouldn't pick anything too strong for him to handle. There should be something that's more casual… hmm I need to re-arrange all of the bottles sometime sooner or later.'
Senator Phillip's waited patiently, on Valentine's office couch, as Valentine searched through all the bottles of alcohol he had.
The bottles made no noise at all, as Valentine's gloved hands deftly moved from row to row, across every bottle searching for the right one.
'This one should do quite nicely.'
His gloved hands finally settled upon a clear bottle, filled with a dark amber liquid inside.
The label on the bottle only held a year, 1889. Nothing else was plastered onto the bottle anywhere else.
'This is the whiskey; my Platoon came up with…'
Valentine took the bottle in hand, and took two shot glasses, from the wooden drawer, underneath the rows of the bottle storage.
'D.4.C. what are you-'
Before Valentine could finish his thought, his stand moved around, bit by bit, it's eyes honing in onto something barely noticeable, drops of blood.
'Blood… how could of it got within the drawers…'
Valentine spoke up aloud after his thought, without turning around to look at Phillip's.
"I'm quite sorry for taking so long Senator, I'm just thinking of what's the best choice."
Valentine stood back up from his somewhat crouched position, and brought the bottle and shot glasses over to the couch Senator Phillip's was at.
'It's best only to have a single shot, I'd rather dispense with the pleasantries as soon as I can.'
Valentine poured some whiskey into each shot glass, and set the bottle down upon the tableside near the couch.
Valentine then sat at the chair opposite of the Couch, and rested his chin upon his hand, and set his whiskey down.
"Well Senator... I suppose it's time I answer your questions. Go ahead take your shot."
An Hour Later
Valentine was looking outside his office's window, taking in the sight of the muddy marshland swamp all around the property, as he fully put to ease the ideas and theories that Phillips had brought up to him. Gloved hands sweeping across the wooden window sill, contemplating what to do next.
'Well... that should put him at ease... though, the stories coming from the rest of The World do pose a question, what truths did they come from...'
"Senator, if you don't mind I'd like to be left alone for right now... if you have any thing that needs attending I'm sure the Soldiers would be more than happy, to help."
Valentine's hands went behind his waist crossed like an x formation.
"Do have a pleasant evening, I'll be downstairs later should you need me again."
Unbeknownst to The Senator, D.4.C. was looming over Valentine, with it's right arm draped across his left side. The Stand was staring directly into Phillips eye's, with a killing intent.
Though he couldn't see the stand he did feel a melancholy cold grip onto his body like a Python wrapping around one's body.
"O-of course, Mr. Valentine Sir! I'll leave you be immediately, thank you for the drinks again!"
The office door quickly opened and shut as though it was poltergeist attacking the surrounding objects, not from such a portly gentleman.
'Well we have some things we need to check upon, let's see to them.' Valentine spoke inside his own mind.
He took hold of the drapes that usually covered the window he was currently looking out of, he adroitly closed the drapes upon himself with a flourish, the drapes flew open once again and he was gone from sight.
In another Universe
The Sun's hot ray's were breaking through the dark cloudy sky, rain still falling from the clouds like teardrops miles away in the sky, a familiar place but not the same. The Safe House that Valentine had commissioned to be built, but strangely it was completely done.
A pair of sacks right next to the barrier of the wall surrounding the The Safe House began moving, pushing themselves away from one another, unbeknownst to any one else this was the President of The United States, Funny Valentine.
Valentine's hands, pushing apart the burlap sacks as though he were crawling out from the grave got out from in-between the sacks, but noticed quite quickly that one of the sacks had wetted his hands.
Valentine brought his hands up to take a look at them. He smelt something that gave away what it was it was-
'Iron... this is blood, though... the color is a bit darker than what is normal...'
Valentine looked down towards the sacks he had just emerged from, looking cautiously across the several different sacks and thinking upon his options...
'D.4.C. open one of those sacks, and do so carefully, this could be the work of a Stand User...'
D.4.C. without hesitation arched over Valentine and phased it's hand into the sack and felt around to see what could be inside. What it felt however was not what Valentine expected... Fleshy tubes... Valentine knew exactly what D.4.C. was touching.
'Intestines... D.4.C. move away from the sacks, now!'
D.4.C. quickly complied with it's users command as Valentine as well moved backwards.
Valentine looked around, seeing everything that he failed to look at earlier. The Safe House though completely finished had gunshots, scratch marks, and even holes large enough to work as new entryways. The shingles were falling off the top of the house as well, holes even shockingly atop the roof of the fifty foot tall building as well as entire areas collapsed upon themselves.
'D.4.C. look around for any weapons; bayonets, guns, knifes, sabers, as well as... bodies and the uniforms they wear, there was a battle here recently if I'm correct about the smell of the blood...'
Valentine's mental command had sent D.4.C. into a defensive position carefully having it's left arm drape around Valentine, as it looked around with the precision of a beam of light. Something caught the stand's eye, the bodies that it had seen wore only the American issue military uniform.
Valentine hunched down to the ground, staying as still as possible as he did so. His suspicions were rising... there were only American soldiers that were splayed across this battlefield. D.4.C. also saw something quite peculiar to it and it's user, some corpses looked like they were just skeletons with skin tightly wrapped onto them, whereas some looked like they were torn limb from limb, or bisected. Wounds from bullets were spotted on some too, but they were few and far between.
'It looks like bears and tigers attacked, not other humans, there's something wrong here, the smell is putrid here. Not just the smell of bodies and excrement, but something unnatural...'
Valentine slowly stood up from his position near the ground, D.4.C. all the while still looking around for anything to move or try to attack Valentine. As Valentine walked forwards from the sacks and the stone wall, he noticed something upon closer inspection of some bodies, some had extended canines, well over an inch in length.
Before Valentine could react, one of the corpses right next to his left side took a swipe at his ankle.
A loud CRAA-CK could be heard for at least a hundred yards as this corpse got sent flying into the marshland de-foresting dozens of trees as it's body broke apart from the sheer force it was hit with as it collided with the marsh trees and cleaved some down.
Valentine stood utterly perplexed as to what just tried to grab him, he's never encountered anything like this except for the things that Axl Ro's stand Civil War brought back from other's memories.
Whatever that creature was however was not like those manifestation's of guilt that Civil War commanded so freely, these were different it seemed. Valentine took a closer look at D.4.C. and noticed something strange yet again, there was a piece of flesh stuck on it's fists knuckles.
Something was happening to the flesh however, a white and golden glow that was emanating from D.4.C. seemed to utterly disintegrate it, about as soon as Valentine noticed it.
Valentine and D.4.C. were both perplexed by this new revelation, without Valentine even commanding it, D.4.C. grabbed another corpse nearby, one that's canines were a couple inches long. As soon as it's head was grabbed it had already thrashed against the ground creating large cracks in the dirt, but as soon as it started, it ended.
The same white yellow glow enveloped the creatures body and utterly destroyed it, as though it never even existed. The glow actually seemed to become part of D.4.C., it's once magenta aura replaced with that of a bright unsaturated gold hue.
'This is something foul, supernaturally foul. The Holy power of the Saint's ability is fighting off whatever this infection is.'
Valentine looked at yet another corpse this one however looked like it was killed by a bullet wound to the head and throat, it looked normal however, as it had no teeth that elongated out of it's mouth like some of the others, Valentine was about to test something.
'D.4.C. grab onto this one...'
Valentine's mental command was followed up with a glare looking down at the corpse he had just set his thoughts on. As D.4.C. grabbed it however there was no glow... none at all, this was a soldier that was completely un-defiled by whatever caused this strange situation.
Snap
Right as D.4.C. had removed it's hand Valentine had heard the snap of twigs, somewhere over in the direction by where the train rails were. Before anything could make a move however, D.4.C. had grabbed it's user and jumped backwards with such force that it could be felt from hundreds of feet away, it had directed itself at an angle to land on top of the safe house. Where Valentine once stood was a crater in his place.
'Shouldn't of put so much power into that... it looks like that enticed some of those 'things' to move.'
Valentine's eyes quickly darted back and forth between the tree line, seeing through both D.4.C.'s and his own. Valentine thought of something however, he took his eyes off of the tree line and let D.4.C. look to find the perpetrator that snapped the twig.
Valentine's hand slid silently underneath one of the shingles of the rooftop, disappearing from sight and into another universe, what he pulled out was a helmet similar to those that the soldiers down below wore.
Sna-aap
'It broke another branch... whatever it is, it's smart, it's trying to move as carefully as possible. Let's see just how smart whatever this thing really is.'
Valentine moved further up to the top of the roof, carefully sliding himself back up with his hands and feet, D.4.C.'s cold eyes still looking at the tree line.
'D.4.C. break us in.'
With but that simple thought, D.4.C. put it's palm on the roof and pushed, with ease the roof broke down within a small area, Valentine vanished between the tiles and debris.
Crunch
Crack
Snap
As soon as Valentine was out of sight different pieces of branches, leaves, and wood, were broke by whatever was prowling around the marsh tree line. Another sound however accompanied these a strange sound like that of an otherworldly metal being banged into a different shape and echoing throughout a hall, whatever was prowling however hadn't heard this noise.
'Let's see what so ever this nuisance is.'
Valentine had reemerged within the trees themselves! As close as he could get to his target without risking suspicion he thought, he was accompanied however by doppelganger of himself, or what remained of one. Ferocious wounds were abundant on his alternate self's corpse, missing it's left arm, as well as half of it's stomach and lower half, a clean diagonal cut going through it's torso.
Valentine looked down at the dead body of his doppelganger with a steely calm in his eyes.
'I have no time for debates with another of myself, if another of myself should have to die... then so be it.'
Valentine held no remorse over taking an innocent life, even another version of himself at this point.
'D.4.C.'
With only the stand's name as a command, the alternate Valentine's corpse was thrown with just enough force to get it to the stone wall. The corpse slid to a halt against the stone wall.
Cr-ack
The corpse's neck snapped and twisted at an unsightly angle, 45 degrees to the left with bone sticking out of the neck.
'The corpse's seem to be interested in it. It seems like they eat living things...'
The corpse drew quite a bit of attention from the bodies strewn across the floor. Suddenly though multiple cracks were heard, as something came rushing from underneath Valentine, just a bit away.
It... it was a woman in a bride's dress, skin a moonlight pale contrasted against the sunset, elongated claws, and moving faster than any human possibly could!
Valentine was perplexed as to what the Hell this thing was. His eyes betrayed every sense of calm he had, a raging blue ocean was swelling like that of a dark determination. But this... this could be called malice, hate, righteous indignation.
Simply standing up between the branches, and leaves, Valentine disappeared bit by bit.
Underneath the rubble of the front side of the safehouse...
A soldier was stuck under the rubble and debris, slowly fading as his life left his battered and broken body, face just barely able to see through some of the building that fell atop him, looking on in horror as he saw the bride run faster than any creature he had ever seen, at the corpse of his Nation's Commander in Chief.
'God... why God, why us, what are these thing's... just...'
The soldier cried silently, only tears rolling down his face covered in blood and dust and debris.
'Please... God, save us... send someone, anyone.'
A silent prayer said only in his mind, his mind that was slowly breaking at seeing all of his fellow brothers in arms die, and be turned into flesh devouring, cannibalistic monsters.
The sounds of flesh being ripped apart, bone breaking, and sinew being torn off of bone, a raucous cacophony of the Bride and corpses tearing away at the former leader, blood staining their hands and faces, blood strewn across the surrounding area. Another noise joined the cacophony of other sounds, the sound of footsteps on mud. The President himself, back from the grave.
The soldier himself, was in such disbelief, his heart had skipped a beat. Only able to wonder how the man was somehow alive, he saw his body thrown like a Baseball out of the Marshland, Hell even a sickening crunch and crack, from what he could only assume was multiple bones.
Nonetheless, here he was, in the flesh. Walking towards the graveyard that was now the front courtyard of the safehouse.
The Sun was just almost out of sight, the beauty that was the Sunset seemed so much different than normal. Foretelling that that something was happening, something unnatural, and eldritch, primeval even.
The President moved with grace, yet after every step, the man grew slower with his movements, one could feel it even from meters away. A presence, an aura of pure ever consuming anger one that threatened to envelope anyone whole. This Aura... it was even moving the mud outwards and away from Valentine! The President walked as though he was just absorbing the atmosphere around himself, taking in every detail.
That's what it felt like, but that wasn't the case at all.
The corpse of an American Soldier, looking like only torn flesh and bone grabbed and moved with the speed of a bullet, grabbing onto The President's leg. The Soldier was witnessing something he couldn't even look away from yet again. But his eyes never saw what they thought would happen.
The corpse went flying! As though it was shot out of a gun, a whiplash of wind right behind it as hurtled towards the stone wall that gated itself around the Safehouse. It crashed right into the wall near where the Bride and the Corpse's were, hitting about a dozen creatures. It however didn't stop it was still going! The body was breaking apart as it went along after going through the stone wall, pieces of it scattered and hit against the safehouse!
Cra-ack
Holes the size of an automobile were made throughout the safehouse as the different body part's broke room after room, collapsing the Safehouse in even more areas than the massive building already had!
The soldier only stared in Horror, as he only now realized that there was a second gust of wind... one of the pieces of the corpse hurtled past him. He could of been torn to pieces in less than a second with the force behind the parts of the creature.
Valentine P.O.V.
Blood was splattered against his left leg due to the creature grabbing onto him.
'Hmm I'll have to clean that later.'
He could only just keep himself from destroying the entire area around himself with some concentrated restrain on his part. His thoughts were a jumbled mess.
'The stories were right...' An angered sigh escaping his nose and mouth.
'These things... they seem to have some sort of understanding of what they're doing... they... planned this.'
Eye's narrowing as he was so consumed in his thoughts, he failed to realize that the Bride noticed him. A large hand touched his shoulder trying to gain his attention.
'Hmm? Oh, thank you D.4.C., it seems like it's had enough of this game of cat and mouse it's been playing as well.'
He was now focused on the current situation now, after being broken out of his thought's by his stand.
"Hmh."
'Let's hope this thing can understand basic language and manners.'
He walked a bit forwards though enough to still put quite a bit of space between them and gave a bow and a curt nod of his head, and an arm across his chest as he bowed.
"I presume you can speak, although that may be foolish of me on the same level of assuming you can even understand words right now."
His eyes locked with the creature that masqueraded as a Bride.
"It seems you can at least understand my words, as the glare you're giving me only appeared after the slight I gave against your seeming lack of intelligence."
'It seems like it has at least some form of patience... this should make it easier to deal with.'
"I wish to have... an agreement... of sorts. It would be mutually beneficial of course, for both parties involved."
'It seems intrigued, though... I can see it's not very well versed in hiding it's intentions.'
Valentine's right eyebrow arched with an inquisitive look in his eyes.
'This should be... fun, at least for me.'
"Come now, you must be able to speak mustn't you. You can perfectly understand my words, and I see you still have a mouth and throat. So... will you make this go smoothly please."
The creature still didn't speak, neither did any of the living corpses on the ground. '
Well this is certainly mildly irritating in the least. It seems all the diplomacy is left to me, to decide, but that is the norm I suppose.'
"Let me make this easy to understand, I want you to leave this country and right now, you may attack any other Countries or Nations if you so please. I will do nothing to impede that, in any way shape or form. But you will never attack America, more specifically The United States of America."
An almost inaudible laugh was given by the Creature in the Bride's dress. Sadly for the creature, D.4.C.'s hearing is just as good as it's eyesight. A noise just a bit louder came afterwards, like the grinding of rocks or scraping of metal. It seems that his teeth grinding at each other breaking down the Enamel protecting themselves, out of frustration towards this 'thing'.
'Well... I tried it the hard way. Now we do thing's my way.'
He gave an exasperated sigh. Clearly not happy in the slightest at all because of the Creature's response seeming to be laughing at his attempt at civility, though it likely hadn't realized he isn't necessarily normal, like all of it's other victims.
"Well, the pleasantries seem to be over on your end, so I suppose so are mine. I'm surprised you even had any social knowledge... though by the looks, you'd fit right in over at Pennsylvania Avenue, then again, your intelligence would be sub par to the women on that Brothel street even. Even if none of them have had any Education, and have only known lust and degeneracy. They would still be smarter and better people than whatever you are."
The creature in the Bride's dress looked quite angered by his comment's.
'Hmph, it seems my words are finally getting through to it.'
"You seem too stupid to me at this point to be capable of speaking. I'm sorry I gave you the benefit of the doubt, you seem to be a troglodyte. Though... perhaps, just maybe you're working for someone or something, and not just working off of base primal instincts."
He gave a pause to his idea, and after a couple seconds continued what he thought out loud.
"Though I doubt that at this point, because who ever would of hired or employed you would have to be even less intelligent than you, they'd have to have nothing inside of their skull except for a brick. No... not even a brick. Dumber than a brick you could say."
As he finished his remarks, the creature only appeared livid as the idea of mentioning someone being stupid for ever trusting her to accomplish something.
'Well... it seems that has finally struck the chord I wanted it to.'
Before he could antagonize it anymore it made a blindingly fast rush towards him!
A clawed, pale, lithe, hand came careening down with the strength of a Tiger, right before it reached his neck though, it stopped in mid air.
"Hhmn? What seems to be the problem? You really seem to want to hurt me, so go ahead. You got a free shot, why aren't you moving your hand any further, or are you... perhaps scared?
The creature's mouth morphed into a malicious scowl.
'Good, your anger only makes it more therapeutic for me to toy with you, you disgusting abomination.'
"What's wrong? You took down all the Soldier's that had weapons, and yet I'm here defenseless. You should have no problem killing me."
A second after he finished that sentence another clawed hand came from his right aiming to try and bisect him. This time however it was stopped right before it hit him.
He stared at the clawed hand to his right, he had an idea. One that he quite liked.
The creatures claws were being pushed down like it was closing it's hand, it was seemingly suspicious of this and tried to open it's hand. But it couldn't.
"What's wrong? It seems your worried about your left hand. Can I help in any way? Here I have an idea."
He took both of his gloved hands from his sides and put one underneath the creatures hand the other above it.
"Let's see, if I remember correctly, from my time in the army this should help you."
As he removed his hands however, the creature saw only that it's hand was completely gone and it's arm was bleeding from where it was once connected, and regenerating it's lost hand back. It seems that his magic trick scared it, if it's expression of confusion and horror were anything to go by.
"Oh... I'm sorry it seems you're quite distraught. Here, let me help you once again, another thing I learned from the Army."
He laid his hand's where D.4.C. was now holding the arm, up at the wrist. He looked at the wrist starting to regenerate the muscle, sinew, nerves, and bone. D.4.C.'s thumb made a small incision into the things flesh, almost like opening a candy bar.
He however proceeded where his stand had stopped, peeling the skin as though it were a candy bar, he continued as the scream coming from the creature told him he was clearly inflicting pain on it like it had never felt before. A smirk crept onto his face slowly as he slowly peeled the flesh letting the regeneration fight back ever so slightly so that he could keep this process up longer.
Finally after a couple minutes of ripping the skin off little by little, he managed to get the skin from down at the wrist all the way up to the shoulder, and even some on the collarbone of the creature, ripping part of the top that was keeping it's decency concealed.
"What? Why do you look so mad? I'm only helping, isn't it better to focus on something else, instead of remembering the pain that the stump on your arm is causing you?"
'Let's see if this thing will finally get the idea, I have a feeling it might fight back, but we should be able to handle that D.4.C.'
A beautiful smile was on his lips before he spoke aloud to the creature.
"You know I've thought on it... the idea that someone hired or employed you. And I believe that someone has, so let's discuss that. I'd like you to show me to them, or tell me everything you can. You understand don't you?"
He smiled ever so slightly with his lips, his brows, settled calmly, a mellow peaceful look on his face as he looked at the creature.
The creature didn't think this was funny at all however in any way, and screamed at him.
"I'll eat you! You disgusting human pig! We'll destroy everything! All of you weaklings are cattle!"
He however looked quite amused, during her rant, however he dropped the smile after she threatened America as whole, or at least what he perceived her as threatening America.
"No, no, no. I'm afraid that's not how you negotiate. You see you're supposed to tell me what I need to know and I might consider my early statement of letting you all go to another Nation, and never bothering mine again."
He was quite annoyed at this thing, then again he dealt with stubborn people everyday as President, quite a few even more stubborn than this thing.
"Now you can tell me now, and I won't force you to tell me what I need to know."
He paused and looked at her, his face a stone cold look, one that someone couldn't even tell what it foretold.
"Or I can ravage you're body in way's that even the most hardened of those on Death Row would rather have the death penalty than deal with what I would do to them."
'Let's see how long you can keep up this little charade. You degenerate creature.'
His thought's were raging with only that sentiment at this point.
The creature only looked on in disgust at him at what he had said and insinuated in her eyes.
"Die! You worthless pile of waste!"
Was the only thing it responded with before, he finally had enough of this.
"Well... since it's just you and me at this point. I suppose I don't have to worry about any of the damage I cause. Though if I had to kill some of my country men to save the rest? So be it, though I'd rather not since it would sadden me deeply, even if it is for the greater good."
His hands were hidden behind his back one held by another, making no illusions that what was about to happen was from his hands.
'Another day, another thing to worry about, this world may fall to ruin, but it's not the root world. So my focus must be on getting information in some capacity, even if it won't be the same in the root one. It's best to get something in advance.'
His thoughts gone save for one, figuring out who is behind this creature and it's attack's.
"Let me know at any point if you wish to take the deal during this little game, should this get to a point where it's too much for you to handle. Though you won't be getting any help from those shambling corpses I've already taken care of them during our little talk."
He smiled earnestly, as the creature looked back in confusion to see that there weren't any more of the corpses, no blood nothing at all, except for a large crater where there was once a pile of creatures. Looking as though a powerful explosive went off.
"What's the matter? Do you need reinforcements against me? A worthless human?"
His eyebrows arched, lips curling even more as his provocation got to it.
'let it go, we can have our fun now I suppose D.4.C.'
The Stand let go of the Bride it's skin and hand already having been regenerated completely during the time he left it alone.
The Bride swiped in every direction it could, frantically like a wild beast on the African Plains going after a Gazelle.
A slash to the right, missed. A slash on the left, missed. Volley after volley of attacks, faster than the eye could see, but he dodged them all in some way or another. The smile still ever present on his face, smug, and fitting.
The Bride's anger bringing it to destroy anything around it that it hit, not much of the stone wall near the gate was left, as he lured it near the gate, due to it's sharp claws and inhuman strength.
'It's strong, stronger than any normal man...'
Between claw swipes he said his piece.
"Well-"
Swipe.
"I-"
Swipe.
"Guess-"
Before the next swipe ever got sent out, the Bride went hurtling as unbeknownst to it, a sky blue hand came out hitting it faster than even light could travel, force greater than any natural disaster raging behind it.
"Then again I guess I'm not entirely normal myself."
she got sent flying outside of the range of the stone wall, skidding against the dirt, digging up even some rail road tracks and curling them up out of the ground! It was stuck at least a dozen feet in the ground from the hit it took, he could barely make out the Bride but D.4.C. easily could.
'So it's stuck, how far does it seem to be... Hhmn it seems like a bit more than a thousand yard's. Wanted to put much more power behind that blow... but we need to keep it alive long enough to tell us what we need.'
"Well I believe I shan't keep that thing waiting, I suppose it's time to get a move on."
With an elegant flourish, he pulled an American flag from in between his pockets, before it even touched the ground he vanished entirely.
Just a few seconds later he reappeared underneath the ripped up railroad track, only a few feet away from the creature the already darkened area making it hard to see, luckily D.4.C. bypassed that with it's own vision. The creature was still stuck inside the crater it made into the dirt, more than likely trying to shake itself from the shock of the force that it was hit with, at least that's what he surmised at this point.
He got up from the ground and underneath the railroad tracks, and made his way over towards the crater.
'Hmmm, well I'm glad I didn't make this mess in the root world, it would be a pain to pay for to be fixed.'
He continued and sauntered on over towards the Bride and the crater it was currently residing in.
Clank
Clank
Clank
The Bride could hear him it seemed, his right foot's boot heel clanking as he walked with one foot on the track and one on the dirt. He figured he would grab it's attention first somehow, he figured dragging his boot's heel every time he stepped forward should do. It was of course the easiest way to make noise with any type of hard bottomed boot, might as well use that to his advantage.
"I do believe you could use a hand, or at least that's what it seems like. Though I doubt this lowly human could help you... unless? You wish to reconsider, and tell me what I need to know."
All he got was a weakened scowl and snarl from the creature.
'Seems it's time to for me to step up my game.'
Well agitating it by talking about it's master worked before, so he decided that's what he would continue with.
"Does your Employer, or should I say Master I suppose, know you are here?"
The creature's eyes looked... unamused to say the least.
'Hmm, no more beating around the bush then.' He thought
"It seems they must of, because it seems as though you're all alone. Pitiful, really. It's impressive that you things have wiped out other Countries, and Nations with your Master being so idiotic and lacking of any tact, skill, or knowledge when it comes to war as to allowing their troops just to do whatever they want with no self imposed discipline."
That certainly seemed to get the creature back into this game of his.
The creature came barreling out of the crater like a feral animal, and with about as much grace as one too.
Valentine however just smiled at the creature and stood still, even as it came right towards him faster than even a horse could go.
Right as this thing came into contact with him however it's hit was stopped by an invisible force to itself. It was angered, and confused at what was stopping it's attacks. Seemingly nothing, it felt no magic on him, so it didn't know why or how this worthless cattle was stopping her.
"You look confused, but why? Oh... it seems what happened earlier is happening again? Though I think I know what it might be... although, you might not want to know."
Right after he finished his sentence, the creature was already up in the air thirteen feet above the ground!
D.4.C. did nothing but hold the creature in the air while looking at it with contempt, it's fingers were actually imbedded into the creatures chest each finger stuck between different ribs, it didn't proceed in crushing however as Valentine had it wait a second.
He saw the golden burning aura again, the brilliant holy light he saw before just earlier in this same world. He had to act carefully, otherwise the Holy power would completely destroy this thing.
'Let it go D.4.C., we need to keep this to causing pain, and not killing we have to be careful since I think neither one of us have control of this Holy power quite yet.'
D.4.C. immediately heeded his command and dropped the creature, though more so in it's own way.
A loud earthy thud was what was heard, as D.4.C. tossed the creature, though D.4.C. barely threw it with any force whatsoever. The creature however seemed like it was in a great deal of pain, it was almost utterly terrified as it saw what was wrong. Holy energy was stopping it from regenerating, it's skin burned away slowly, it's body's inner working's already feeling the effect of the Holy energy.
"Well now, you seem to finally understand your little situation you got yourself into."
The creature's eyes met with his, a look of anger now replaced the fear, fully realizing that he was toying with her.
The creature yet again charged at him, disregarding the current damage it was taking from the Holy energy.
'Hmm, time to make it understand somewhat more of the situation it 's found itself in.'
Vampire Bride's P.O.V./3rd Person P.O.V.
She finally hit him! Her clawed hand was stuck inside of his chest. This worthless human was going to die! And he was but nutrients and fuel to strengthen her!
Though... that's what she thought.
The clawed hand was being pushed away from him with no effort, though it had ripped into his jacket's chest area, D.4.C.'s body was waiting for it, laying right underneath his Jacket.
"Make it painful."
Was all the creature heard as it stared in disbelief as there was no blood dripping from his chest.
Though that's all it needed to know at this point.
"I'm sorry, but the deals off the table at this point. I'm tired of this game of mine, and I really must be going. Though don't worry, I'll make this as cathartic as it can be for myself."
What happened next was what showed her, that this was just a game, truly like the human said. It was a game of his own making and design, this was a play, and he arranged it all.
Valentine's P.O.V.
He smiled, as D.4.C. grabbed the creature by the leg and with the speed of Hermes! Motioned it like a whip, and sent it flying down range, fully disconnecting the body from the leg, as the amount of strength it used simply ripped the body off due to the amount of velocity it had since D.4.C. never let go with it's hand almost fully wrapped around the thigh of the creatures now ripped off leg.
"Hmm, nice throw. Perhaps next time we should try skipping it on water like a stone or rock."
He smiled and then chuckled.
"Hah... huh, imagine the sight, it would be quite humorous, Wouldn't it."
Once again he seemingly vanished, however this time it's much more... malicious, in every way possible.
Vampire Bride's P.O.V.
She felt like she got hit by something even stronger than her mistress... she felt it, the Holy power... this man had to have the item Lord Ainz was looking for, she hadn't thought of it before when she first felt it, but now it made sense. She wasn't told much but all she knew was he wanted it, based on how her Mistress Shalltear spoke of the item, it was more valuable than all of the items Nazarick held combined, past and present.
'I need to-'
3rd Person P.O.V.
However before she could even finish her thought, she felt horrible, like her entire body was going to break apart or even explode, what happened next however...
Made both of the former much more preferable. Unbeknownst to her the Sky Blue hand of D.4.C. was making it's way outside of her throat and mouth, the amount of pain she was going to feel was excruciating. D.4.C. slowly pushed it's arm outwards, it's hand fully outside of her gullet, and now touching the fresh air.
What was next however... was what utterly destroyed her chest cavity, throat, and mouth, D.4.C.'s forearm was now making it's way out too, but it was definitely too thick around for almost anything have it stay inside their body.
Wet sounding cracks, snaps, and squelching was heard as D.4.C.'s four foot long arm, burst out from inside the creature, and being held in the air as though it was the Lady of the Lake holding Excalibur for King Arthur.
Though It disappeared almost instantly and what came crawling out from between the creature and the ground, was President Valentine, pushing the creature off from on top of himself as D.4.C. hoisted him up to his feet.
Valentine P.O.V.
He looked back to the ground behind himself to see that again there was another crater that looked like it went for about fifty or sixty yards back and was about a yard deep, and a bit more than a yard in width. He looked towards the creature to see that it was no longer regenerating, and that the Holy energy was consuming it at a modest rate.
Surprisingly enough the creature still seemed to be alive, though he was somewhat happy that he managed to have D.4.C. hold itself back enough to at least keep it on the verge of life and death.
His hand turned the now jawless creatures head to look at him, as it's front chest, and abdominal cavity were completely gone, as well as the front of it's throat, as though a back alley surgeon opened them up.
"I must tell you that you really should of reconsidered our little deal, I could of made this much more painful, but decided against after debating back and forth with myself whether or not you have a little posse of more things like you nearby. Even if you creatures aren't all too smart I'd rather not risk even a couple more things from my bag of tricks being shown."
He smiled, as he knew what he was going to do next would at least help him release enough anger to think more calmly.
"I hope though, that from whatever Circle of Hell you came from, that you go back to it, and with whatever other creatures are even remotely like you."
His smile faded, into a sneer of absolute rage and hatred, all of his frustration showing due to playing this little game of his, and being looked down upon by such a vile unnatural creature.
"I hope that every soul you have devoured, ravages your body in every way you did to them."
"You... disgust me, in every way imaginable, Whore of Babylon!"
Before the creature could even react to Valentine's statement that he yelled right above her as he looked down he spoke once again, and spoke a word very few know... and those that do, fear.
"D.4.C.!"
Valentine just about yelled out his stands name, a raging ocean of furious blows rained down upon the creature. His anger consumed him so that his eyes failed to realize that the creature was utterly annihilated after just the first couple of blows, but that didn't stop him.
D.4.C. let out hit after hit, utterly destroying the landscape around them the force of every natural disaster paled to the force's behind it's strikes! The only thing even remotely keeping him unharmed was the shockwaves from every single hit keeping him in the air!
Animal's and straggling creatures of darkness could feel the earth trembling underneath their feet for miles upon miles away. The full unrestrained hatred of his had been let go of, through that series of uncountable blows.
Though after D.4.C.'s barrage had stopped, so had the shockwaves, threatening to let him fall down the fatal height he was at in the air!
"D.4.C. NOW!"
He yelled aloud, adrenaline still coursing through his veins. His anger and indignation almost fully gone, what little that was left felt like it was waning as well.
D.4.C. had transported him and itself, back to the root world, crossing countless parallel universes and realms, all they saw was a blur of celestial bodies, solar systems, and galaxies as they got to the root world within less than a second.
He felt exhausted, he's been able to last and endure much longer in fight's, but that anger... having that much hatred and malice for another thing, it tired him mentally, and taxed him quite badly metaphysically.
He just laid still momentarily between the floor and the couch, he just felt sweaty and exhausted because of the fight and how much he had exerted D.4.C. and weary too, just by knowing these... 'things', for lack of a better term were truly real. And very much a threat as well, destroying different nations was no easy feat, even though he acted like it was to himself and the 'creature'.
Valentine was just laying still, too lost in thought. Not unwilling to move, he was just completely blanking on anything else except for thinking about the creatures. Though D.4.C. seemed to appear out of nowhere, even without Valentine thinking about it. It simply dragged him out from underneath the couch, and put him right down onto it, as though it were a parent putting their baby in it's crib. If the press and rest of the Nation saw this, it would be quite hilarious to all involved seeing the six foot one man be treated like a child.
Though this would normally bother Valentine, he hadn't even noticed that D.4.C. had dragged and put him on top of the couch.
Valentine let out a deep sigh after a minute however.
"We have quite a lot of work to do..."
An exasperated sigh left his mouth.
"This is going to be tiresome, Isn't it D.4.C.?"
He turned his head to the left to see, right on the floor D.4.C. had it's eyes closed, and was underneath the rug using it like a blanket, it's legs sticking out one end and it's head and chest sticking out another.
'At this point I can't even blame you... ugghh. Need to lock the damn door now.'
He didn't want anyone coming in and questioning why the seven foot wide rug had an area where it was perfectly levitating.
Click
After he locked the door he simply walked back to the couch and just laid down on it intent to get some small amount of rest. 'Well it seems to still be midday, it should be fine to rest for an hour or a bit more.'
To be continued...
Side Note: Go check out a Legacy to Protect and a Legacy to Build by my friend Donutair5618.
They are both fantastic stories, and are extremely entertaining and fun to read, if you like My Hero Academia as well you'll like it even more.
Author's Notes.
Well another chapter done! Sorry it took so long I've gotten sidetracked quite easily in trying to do other stuff though more so than anything trying to improve my writing style and learning more way's to write. Also don't worry about this Fic/Story being quit, I have no intention of doing so within my mind even if I wanted to. This is not just something I want to do but something I'm obliged to do in a way in my own eyes, as a letter of sorts to The World and Sun, they were a great writer and storyteller and feel since we talked so much about stories and such that I should carry on the story and do it justice for them.
Though it may seem a bit self righteous and it probably is, it's honestly how I feel. And I feel that I owe it to myself and every one who has stumbled across this Fic/Story that I should keep it going and write it well.
Until next time my friends!
Another thing to note is that every part of the Saint's Corpse is in a new category of item type for the Overlord universe rating wise called Creare, which is even above World class items what this word means is to make or bring forth, at least when the c is lowercase, but when the C is uppercase, it actually mean's God as in the Biblical, beyond even the definition Omnipotent, God.
Responses
Guest: My thanks! I hope you continue to find it interesting, and entertaining as well too!
Copper Forest 14: Of course I feel like I needed to, it was an amazing story. Yeah it is really distressing what happened, all I can say is that I have wished for them to be okay and safe.
: Don't worry I completely understand your point. This by no means my first time writing so I now how important things can be, but I'm also nowhere near being a great writer, so I can only hope to keep this going and improve upon it every time I write, and even fix errors I make in previous chapters. I do wish to convey a journey that will have hardships for both sides and victories for both as well too. But I do appreciate the concern it shows that you have taken time and actually wish to continue reading this. I know there are things that can or might happen that could upset either community of JoJo or Overlord. JoJo is by far my favorite piece of fiction and Hell, literature I've ever read, but Overlord is up there as well in my top 10.
CrazyHeartAttack: Here the update is! While not exactly soon, it's here and I'm going to try to be more diligent with chapters to the best of my ability. I'm also really glad this Fan Fiction has gotten you interested! I hope to continue making it even more interesting and entertaining!
The Coffee Daddy: I'm very glad you like the story so far! And don't worry this is going to continue as long as I can do so!
