A/N: And here are the first few bouts of a more roster tournament. I plan to make a few pairings interesting.

Chapter Eleven: The Tournament For the Water-
Part 2: The First Round
The victors from the free for all soon came back down to the edge of the beach of the lake. The remaining Pokémon stood in a large circle trying to find out how they were going to proceed with the rest of the tournament. The Meganium looked about and asked, "So, how are we going to decide who's going to battle who?"
"It's not like we have anything to make a real roster." The Obstagoon pointed out with a huff. The red and black, two-legged cat, an Incineroar, suggested with a shady look, "Why not let the biggest go first?"
"But that would just about everyone but me." Brock pointed out. The Incineroar chuckled and agreed, "That's true. But I was thinking more along the lines of him…" He pointed at the Duraludon, surprising the Steel-Dragon Type, and then pointed, "And him."
Everyone looked to where he was pointing and their gaze fell on Tar. The Incineroar still had a smug look, "Everyone knows that a Tyranitar and a Duraludon hardly ever get along. So this might be fun to watch."
"You only suggested this to fulfill your own amusement to watch them beat each other to a pulp?" Dragara questioned. She glared at the Fire-Dark with a glare as she commented, "Disgusting."
"Dragara." Drudd tried to calm her. The Incineroar only gave her a dark grin before looking between the two, "So, what do you say?"
"I say, let's get it over with." Tar said and the Duraludon agreed with a nod. The Barbaracle then offered, "I'll make it to where everyone can have a closer look, but still keep it safe."
"If that's what you want to do." The Meganium shrugged. The Barbaracle once again jumped into the lake before swimming close to the bottom of the arena. He was able to raise more rock from the bottom of the lake and created seats for the other the Pokémon to come and watch.
…
(Cue Broly Begins to Fight from DBS: Broly)
Soon, everyone, both competitor and spectator, were sitting on the raised seats and looked to the platform smack dab in the middle of everything. Drudd's Pokémon herd took one section of the stands while the other Pokémon herds sat in the other sections. While some cheers ran through a vast majority of the Pokémon, those close to Tar or counting on him were watching with anticipation. Tar and the Duraludon took center stage on the platform and stared each other down. Tar then asked, "You ready?"
"Sure am." The Duraludon nodded and his eyes narrowed. Then he said, "Kiryu's the name." He bashed his metal-like fists together a couple of times, gave a metallic sounding roar and declared, "And I'm going to beat you into the ground."
"We'll see about that." Tar retorted and took a stance with Kiryu following suit. A small purple butterfly flew down over the field and looked between the two combatants, "I wanna good, clean fight. No dirty moves and nothing below the belt. You get knocked off the platform, you're out. You fall unconscious, you're out. You tap out, you are out. You get pinned, then YOU ARE OUT.
"Are you ready?" The Butterfree asked Tar. The Tyranitar nodded and the Butterfree looked over to Kiryu, "Are you ready?"
The Duraludon nodded as well and the Butterfree flew a little higher. Then raising one of his little arms he began the match, "Fight!"
Both Tar and Kiryu rushed forward with the former lowering his right arm and the latter's left arm starting to glow. Tar hurled a stone with Rock Throw while Kiryu broke through the boulder with Dragon Claw. The two then clashed their fists together and it created a shockwave. The force from the punch caused the two to slide back and they stood back up straight again. The two reared their heads back and everyone saw particles forming a sphere in their maws before they both let loose a Hyper Beam attack. The two beams flew towards each other and clashed, creating a large sphere of energy.
Everyone in the stands covered their eyes from the bright and intense light before a large explosion went off and most of the arena was covered in smoke. All the Pokémon watching the battle looked about to see what became of Tar and Kiryu. When the dust cleared, they saw both the Tyranitar and the Duraludon slowly getting back up on their feet. Both Pokémon were breathing hard from the sudden attack and looked at the other. With a glare, the two once again rushed towards each other and readied a fist. The two entered a slug fest as Tar bashed his fist against Kiryu's face and the Duraludon was quick to return on to the Tyranitar's gut. The blow caused Tar to stumble back and Kiryu went on the offensive by slugging Tar in the face multiple times. Each blow caused Tar to stumble back closer and closer to the edge. From the stands, all the Pokémon gasped when Tar's foot seemed to slip from the edge. The Duraludon raised his arm to give one final punch, but when he threw it forward, Tar caught it with one hand.
Everyone, from Kiryu to the Pokémon in the stands, were greatly amazed when Tar raised his head to his opponent. The Tyranitar's eyes were glowing blue as he glared at the Duraludon. Then pulling his arm forward, Tar buried his knee into the Dragon-Steel Type's gut and sent the Alloy Pokémon stumbling back. A blue aura seemed to emanate from Tar as he gave a shove to knock the Duraludon back and step away from the edge.
"What's happening?" Blitz asked, not knowing what was going on. He looked to Donna when she said, "Though I've hardly ever seen it, that's one of the steps to Mega Evolution."
"Mega Evolution?" Blitz and his family asked. This time, it was Dragara who answered as she and the Axew twins came closer, "It's a form of Pokémon evolution that's temporary."
"So, he's going to change?" Brock asked the Dragonite about the glowing Tyranitar. But Dragara shook her head, "Unfortunately not. Tar can only tap into the power a little bit and puts it into one of his attacks. I usually see him apply it to his Hyper Beam. It usually does the trick."
"So, what triggers a Mega Evolution?" Blitz asks her. Dragara looked to him and said, "There are a couple of ways. The first being with having a special stone to help channel the power. That's the more common way.
"The second way is for one to draw upon its power." Dragara said and pointed to Tar. Blitz looked to the Tyranitar as Tar continued to glow and Dragara explained, "While the stones make it easier to acquire a Mega Evolution, trying to draw the power from within takes years and training to master."
"And he's only able to slightly draw from it?" Blitz asked and she nodded. Everyone looked back to the battle to see how it will unfold from here.
Down on the arena, the two were still going at with Kiryu going on the offensive. He tried to hit Tar again with his arms, but Tar was able to deflect the blows before using a palm thrust to knock Kiryu back. Kiryu stumbled back and it allowed Tar to go on the offensive as he used Dragon Claw witch swipe he made. Kiryu was able to parry the attack with a Dragon Claw of his own and it caused the two to stumble back from each other.
"I'm not scared of what you throw at me!" Kiryu boldly declared before rushing towards Tar once again. But the remaining blue energy around the Tyranitar suddenly swirled into a sphere in Tar's maw before taking on a more reddish hue.
This caused the Duraludon to freeze in his tracks as he finally knew that this wasn't looking good for him. Tar reared his head back before firing the red Hyper Beam at Kiryu. The Duraludon cried out before the blast hit him and sent him flying across the arena and he fell over the edge. The Hyper Beam diminished as Kiryu landed in the water with a large splash.
When he saw that his opponent was gone, Tar threw back his head and let loose a mighty roar in victory. When he calmed down he took a few deep breaths from drawing on such power. The Butterfree flew back over and proudly declared, "Kiryu the Duraludon is out of the ring! Tar the Tyranitar is the winner!"
(End of track)
Cheers for Tar rang through the spectator stands of Pokémon while some were a little disappointed that Kiryu had been defeated. Soon, the Pokémon herd leaders and their champions, minus Duraludon, once again met this time on the platform while the herds had to wait in the stands. They looked amongst each other and the Meganium asked, "So, who wants to go next?"
"I'll take the next fight." The Obstagoon said. Then he smirked when he pointed, "And I'll fight him."
Everyone looked to see him pointing right at Brock. The Mouse Pokémon became a little scared and pointed to himself, "M-Me?"
"Yeah." The Obstagoon chuckled. He gave a mocking pout and asked, "Unless you're too scared."
"I-I-I'm not scared." Brock said, trying to sound brave. Bu it was kind of childish when he pointed to the Obstagoon and nervously said, "You're the one who's scared."
"Uncle Brock, are you sure?" Blitz whispered to his adopted uncle. Though he was really scared at the moment, Brock nodded, "Yeah. Yeah, I'll be fine." Hopping on his little toes he said, "I can take him."
"That's the spirit." The Obstagoon smirked. Then looking to the other Pokémon there he barked, "Now get lost!"
"Gee, friendly much?" The Arbok asked as he slithered away to rejoin his herd. The others turned and walked away as well, leaving both Brock and the Obstagoon alone on the platform.
The still nervous Brock glanced back over to where his friends and family were before swallowing the nervous lump in his throat. The same Butterfree from before flew up to them and said, "Like I told the last two contestants, you lose means you lose.
"Are you ready, Stag?" He asked the Obstagoon. Stag nodded that he was ready. Looking to Brock the Butterfree asked, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready." The Pikachu said as he bounced on his little toes. Then trying to put some confidence in his voice he said, "Let's do this."
"Heh." Stag sneered. Flying a little above them, the Butterfree shouted, "Fight!"
Stag quickly turned around and the hairs on the back of his neck flared. This made Brock nervous and he yelped when Stag fired a Pin Missile at him. Brock jumped out of the way of the first and it exploded behind him and it knocked the Pikachu off his feet. Brock ended up tumbling head over heels before rolling back onto his feet. He screamed when he found himself in Stag's shadow and the Obstagoon came at him with a Cross Chop attack. Brock jumped back to avoid the attack slamming into him. Quickly taking a breath, Brock then came at Stag and used Quick Attack and struck Stag right in the chest. The Obstagoon fell on his back and Brock quickly scampered off the bigger Pokémon. The Obstagoon glared at the Pikachu and rose back onto his feet. With a snarl he challenged, "Let's see you do that again."
"If you want it, you got it." Brock shot back before charging at Stag. The Obstagoon raised both of his arms and was about to attack when the Pikachu jumped up and used Thunder Shock. He purposefully missed in order to create a smokescreen. While Stag coughed from the smoke while Brock quicklyused Double Team. It looked like clones of Brock suddenly appeared and it greatly confused Stag when he saw them coming at him. Stag swiped at the nearest clones and it caused them to vanish. But while he was busy, one of the Brocks jumped from the rest and came at the Obstagoon with Iron Tail. The blow sent Stag staggering back and Brock followed up with an Electro Ball attack. Stag cried out from the attack and fell to the ground. Brock began to charge up for another attack. Stag looked to Brock with Baby-Doll Eyes and asked, "You wouldn't attack an opponent while he's down?"
"Uh…" Brock said as he halted charging. He looked a little conflicted about it.
From the stands, Bonnie and Cynthia both groaned from her uncle's actions while the latter facepalmed. Sam then shouted, "Don't be fooled, kid!"
And he was right as Stag got up and Tackled Brock. Brock grunted as Stag had him pinned by the shoulders. The Obstagoon smirked down at the Pikachu before looking to the sky and shouted, "Start the count!"
The Butterfree flew over the two and started the count, "One!
"Two!" He shouted and a lot of the Pokémon from Drudd's herd were groaning from the first loss for their team. Though the only one who didn't see it as a total loss was Drudd when he looked to Tar, "Not like it would have been a total loss."
"Hm." Was all that Tar said, even though he only slightly agreed. But before the Butterfree could say the final number, Brock shouted, "PIKACHU!"
He unleashed a powerful Thunder Bolt and it sent Stag flying off of him. The Obstagoon grunted when he landed a few feet from while Brock quickly got back on his feet. Stag huffed when he too rose back up on his feet and said, "Like I said, you got guts, kid." He cracked his knuckles when he added, "And now, I'm gonna enjoy beating 'em out of ya."
"Then let's see how you do!" Brock shouted and jumped into the air again. He created another Electro Ball and launched it at the Obstagoon. But Stag used Night Slash to deflect the attack. The Pokémon in the stands had to move out of the way when the attack came at them. Brock landed on the side farthest from the arena and looked over to the side where Stag stood. The Obstagoon dropped down on all fours and rushed towards the Pikachu. Through the few seconds that he had, Brock glanced back to the edge and an idea formed in his head. He looked back to Stag who was just about on him. When Stag was but a few inches away, Brock leapt over him. Stag turned to attack the airborne Mouse Pokémon and his eyes widened in shock. Giving his tail a small jolt of electricity, Brock used Tail Whip on Stag. The electrified slap not only seemed to stun the Obstagoon but thanks to him leaning to the edge, it seemed that he would fall. To make sure that his foe did fall, Brock leapt at the Obstagoon and Slammed right into him. Stag grunted from the blow and he was sent falling over the edge. Stag cried out as he fell down to the water and landed with a splash.
The crowd started cheering for Brock as the Mouse Pokémon took a few deep breaths from the battle. Down in the water, Stag broke through the surface and took a gasp of air. He didn't seem too happy when he looked back up to the top of the arena. A Lapras swam by and helped Stag back to the stands.
When he returned to his Pokémon herd, Stag walked past a few and Barry and stopped at the Incineroar that was taking part in the tournament. With a glare he said, "When you choose your opponent, pick the Pikachu."
"And make him pay?" The Incineroar asked with a sly grin. The Obstagoon nodded, unaware that he had been heard from behind by Barry. The Machoke didn't like the sound of what his boss was implying.
The Butterfree returned to the arena as did the rest of the combatants. Blitz stood by Brock and looked down to the Pikachu with a grin. Brock smirked back and then turned back to see what was happening. The Butterfree looked about and asked, "So, whose up next to fight?"
"I want turn." The brown bear, an Ursaring, took up the challenge.
"Haven't seen one of them in a long time." Brock quietly commented to Blitz. The Charizard nodded in agreement, though he could tell that this one wasn't like the one that attacked the family so long ago. But he knew he couldn't hold a grudge against the Ursaring since it wasn't the same. The Butterfree shrugged and said, "So, it looks like we have one contestant…" Looking over the rest he asked, "Who else is willing?"
"I'll take on pretty dragon girl. She looks easy enough." The Ursaring said and pointed at Dragara. While some were unaffected, Dragara gave the Ursaring a questioning look while both Blitz and Drudd both silently growled.
"Alright, I'll take you on." Dragara agreed with a huff. While Drudd didn't look too keen, the others didn't seem to mind as they returned to their seats. But before he left, Drudd stayed behind and said, "Be careful, Dragara."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." She reassured him. It didn't seem to reassure the Druddigon but he still respected her wishes. Drudd went back to his seat while Blitz still remained back. With a smile he offered, "Good luck to you."
"Uh, thanks." Dragara shrugged and smiled back. Blitz then turned to take his leave.
When the two were all alone, Dragara and the Ursaring stared each other down. The Ursaring reared his head back to let loose a roar and then rushed forward and prepared to use Hammer Arm on her. Dragara quickly jumped to the air and used Wing Attack to block the Ursaring's arm. The Ursaring backed away before trying to swipe at her. Dragara was quick to move back from the Ursaring's claws before trying to scratch at him back. The Ursaring wasn't able to move away I time and the Dragonite's claws caused him to fall backwards. The Ursaring growled as he rose back up on his feet. Wanting to end this very fast, Dragara quickly flew around the Ursaring before grabbing him in a full nelson and flapped high into the air. The Ursaring screamed from the height and Dragara said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you that badly."
Then turning backwards, Dragara quickly started flying back towards the arena. The Ursaring started to squirm in her grip and the Dragonite yelled, "Stop squirming, you're gonna get hurt a lot worse."
Wanting to have a little fun as she ended the quick battle, Dragara started spinning around and used Twister as she headed back down. She released the Ursaring just when they were about a few feet from the ground and the Ursaring grunted in pain when he hit the stone. Dragara landed on the other side of the platform and waited to see what became of her opponent.
When the dust cleared, everyone saw the Ursaring laying on his face unmoving. Dragara carefully came closer to her downed foe and turned him onto his back. She looked to his eyes ad could see the swirls of unconsciousness in them. Looking to the Butterfree she shook her head. The Butterfree flew over and saw the same thing she was seeing. Looking to the crowd of Pokémon he said, "Gerald the Ursaring is unable to battle!" Gesturing to the victor he said, "Dragara the Dragonite wins!"
Cheers rang through Drudd's Pokémon herd as they were now excited. Dragara dusted herself off as someone came to collect the unconscious Ursaring while the other once again recollected onto the arena. Before anything could really be said, the white bear stepped forward and said with an odd accent, "I want a turn to fight."
"Okay." The Meganium said and nodded, "You can have a turn, Blizz."
Blizz, the Beartic, gave an arrogant grin as he looked over whom he wanted to fight. His gaze fell on the Sceptile and said, "I want to battle you."
"Fine." The Sceptile agreed, even though he felt like he was at a slight disadvantage. Once again, everyone else left to allow the two a chance to fight.
Blizz and the Sceptile prepared themselves for the imminent battle. The Butterfree then asked, "Are the both of you ready?"
Both the Beartic and the Sceptile nodded that they were indeed ready. The Butterfree shouted, "Begin!"
The Sceptile and Blizz started walking around the platform while not taking their gaze off the other. The two Pokémon didn't make any sudden movements for a moment or two. The Sceptile then made the first movement by firing a Leaf Storm at his opponent. Blizz shielded himself from the assault before retaliating by using his frozen breath to halt the green projectiles. Then he rushed forward and tried to swipe at the Sceptile. The Forest Pokémon protected himself with Quick Guard and was able to block the strike. Then with the grass-like blades on his arms, the Sceptile went on the offensive with Leaf Blade and it sent Blizz staggering back. Blizz was quick to unleash Blizzard and it made the Sceptile jump back from the Beartic.
Up in the stands, they could see that the battle was starting to turn to Blizz's favor. Blitz looked to Cynthia and Sam to ask, "Think that the Sceptile can win?"
"Not sure." Sam shook his head. Glancing back to his adopted grandson he explained, "As we all know, most Plant Types don't do so well in the cold. Especially since the way that the Beartic has him on the run."
They all looked to see that Blizz did indeed have the Sceptile on the ropes as he kept backing away from the on-going Blizzard attack. The Beartic had a mocking smirk as he kept coming. Taking a chance, the Sceptile leapt high in the air with Agility and came down at the center of the Blizzard attack. Blizz was shocked to see his opponent make such a bold move as the Sceptile lashed out with a fist. Using Pound, the Sceptile was able to knock his opponent down and cancel the attack. The Forest Pokémon started coming at him and used Fury Cutter on the Freezing Pokémon. Each blow seemed to knock the Beartic for a loop as he received each blow. But as the two were nearing the edge, Blizz's foot started to slip over the side. The Beartic gasped as he started to fall over. The Sceptile moved to land one more blow but it was his mistake as Blizz grabbed his arm and the two ended up falling over the edge.
The entire crowd of Pokémon gasped from this as both combatants fell into the water below. Both Blizz and the Sceptile landed in the lake with a very large splash. Everyone started talking amongst themselves and asking questions like, "Who won? Who fell in first?"
The Butterfree flew to the spot to see if the two Pokémon were coming back up. Both the Beartic and the Sceptile broke through the surface with a gasp and took deep breaths. They both looked to the Butterfree and Blizz asked, "Who won the fight?"
"Well, to be fair, no one saw who entered the water first." The Butterfree shook his head. With a shrug he said, "And since we don't know who the clear winner is and you both fell out of the ring, we'll just have to call this a double ring out."
Both Pokémon groaned in defeat before being helped up into the stands. When the two were sitting with their respective herds, the combatants came to the middle yet again.
"I want a turn this time." The Meganium stepped up to battle. Brock then asked her, "So, who'll be your opponent?"
"I wish to fight you, Arbok." The Meganium said and looked to the Cobra Pokémon. The Arbok nodded that he agreed to the challenge, "If you wish, Megan."
"Well, you heard them." The Butterfree said and shooed the other contestants away.
When the ring had been cleared of all but Megan and the Arbok, the two prepared themselves. Megan smirked when she said, "Don't think I'll go easy on you Kobra."
"Like wise." Kobra hissed back. Megan threw her head back and launched a Razor Leaf at the Cobra Pokémon. The purple snake was quick to slither out of the way before firing his own Gunk Shot at her. The Meganium ducked to avoid getting hit by the attack. The two glared at each other before charging at each other. Kobra tried to leap at her so he could try to use Wrap on her, but Megan jumped out of the way just before he could get his coils around her. Megan landed a few feet from the serpent Pokémon before jumping back into the air. Kobra turned back with a gasp and she came down with Body Slam. The Cobra Pokémon cried out in pain when she landed on him, but he quickly retaliated by sinking his fangs into her shoulder and used Fire Fang. Megan screamed from the burning pain from the bite and started to rise off of the serpent. But it was her mistake as he leapt at her and used Wrap this time. Megan struggled from the bone crushing grip that the Cobra Pokémon had on her. Opening his jaws wide again, he sank his fangs into her shoulder and used Bite to unleash his venom.
The Herb Pokémon was quick to start shaking to try to get Kobra off of her. All the shaking seemed to listen Kobra's grip on her. She started rolling over and it made the Cobra Pokémon fall off of her. She took the advantage by moving away from her disoriented foe. Kobra seemed a bit dizzy as he rose off the ground and the Herb Pokémon was quick to take advantage of this. Megan was quick to charge up her next attack before firing a Solar Beam at the Cobra Pokémon. Kobra came to his senses at the last moment and his eyes were wide when the beam hit him. The impact created a huge cloud of smoke and everyone from Megan to those in the stands braced themselves from the explosion.
When the smoke cleared, everyone thought that Kobra was going to be down for the count. It looked like the Arbok was indeed unconscious, but everyone gasped when the serpent rose up. He did look battered from the attack, but he didn't look weakened enough. Megan's eyes narrowed when she questioned, "How come you aren't unconscious or falling into the water."
"Heh, guess that a small Mud Bomb can work wonders." The Arbok said with a chuckle. He ran his tail over his bruised face and admitted, "Although, it seems that I did take quite a bit of damage from the explosion."
"Then it's time to end this." The Meganium said before firing up a Petal Blizzard at him. Kobra was quick to unleash Poison Sting and the two attacks either collided or past each other. Both Pokémon were hit by the attacks that were able to make it through. Cuts appeared on Kobra's body while Megan could feel some of the effects of the poisonous attack.
When they glanced to each other, they both knew that they were about to be on their last legs, so to speak. Deciding to put it all on the line, Kobra unleashed Acid Spray while Megan went with another Solar Beam attack. The acidic attack landed in Megan's face while the Solar Beam knocked Kobra back. Megan cried out in pain from the acid and Kobra tried to get back up. But it proved futile as both combatants succumbed to their injuries.
Butterfree flew over the two Pokémon herd leaders to see if one of them was still conscious. But he saw that they were both out of it as the two Pokémon had swirls in their eyes. Flying a feet in the air he said, "Both Pokémon are unable to battle, both are disqualified."
The two leaders' Pokémon herds groaned in disappointment from the loss of a chance to the water.
The rest of the combatants came back down to see who would be battling next. Some other Pokémon came down to collect Kobra and Megan to heal them. The Butterfree flew amongst the remaining fighters and asked, "So, whose going to fight next. And please try not to let it be too disappointing."
While one or two didn't seem too insulted from the comment, the rest of the fighters gave the Butterfree slight glares. Seeing his mistake he offered a quick, "Sorry."
"I'm out." The Barbaracle said, surprising the majority of the group. The Butterfree then asked, "Any reason as to why, sir?"
"Well, three out of the five or six of us ended up in a double disqualification. I didn't want to be part of number three." The Barbaracle said and crossed his arms. With that said, he turned back and walked back to the stands. They all knew that who ever was to battle next, the remaining contestant would go on to the next round by default.
"I think Blitz should go now." Brock said, making the Charizard snap his head to his uncle. Then he growled under his breath, "Thanks, Uncle Brock."
"Do you wish to take a turn?" Barry asked him. Seeing that they were all looking at him, Blitz sighed and said, "Yeah, I'll give it a go."
"Great, didn't want to see you wimp out." Barry said with a chuckle. The Snorlax stepped up and spoke up, "And I'll be your opponent."
"Then clear the area, folks." The Butterfree said, making everyone vacate the arena.
Once it was just Blitz and the Snorlax, the two assumed their stances. The Butterfree then asked, "The two of you ready?"
Both Pokémon nodded to confirm that they were ready and the Butterfree shouted, "Begin!"
Blitz and the Snorlax started walking around the arena and waited for the other to make a move. Suddenly, the Snorlax seemed to run in place and it weirded out the Charizard a little. But his eyes became wide when the Snorlax suddenly rushed at him. Blitz jumped out of the way before the Snorlax could Tackle into him. The Snorlax could barely come to a stop when he reached the edge. The Sleeping Pokémon wildly flailed his arms about to try and prevent his fall and was able to take a step back. The Snorlax breathed a sigh of relief before turning to Blitz. The Sleeping Pokémon had a grin when he said, "You did well to move out of the way at the last when good old Joe came running at you. Some aren't that lucky to avoid my tackle when I'm able to get a good running start."
"Just trying to stay in the game." Blitz said as he remained wary. Joe chuckled, "Well, I admire you for that, but I don't plan to lose either."
Blitz responded to that by unleashing a Flamethrower attack. But Joe was quick to protect himself with a Defense Curl and grunted in pain when the flames touched him. When the attack ended, Joe stood back up and once again rushed at Blitz. The Charizard used Dragon Claw to try and knock him back, but Joe used his arm to Block it. Though the attack slightly cut him, Joe grabbed a hold of Blitz's wrist before using his great strength to throw the Charizard into the air. He Body Slammed Blitz into the ground and it not only made the Charizard wince, but it made a few in the crowd wince too.
Joe stepped back as Blitz groaned in pain. The Snorlax gave a shrug and said, "Sorry, that I gotta be rough, kid. But it's time that I ended this."
Joe took another step back before jumping high into the air. Blitz happened to look up as the Snorlax came down with Heavy Slam. Blitz cried out in pain from the heavy blow as the Snorlax laid on top of him. Joe quickly got off of the Charizard and looked down at the Flame Pokémon. Joe took a deep breath before unleashing a Yawn to try and pacify Blitz when he tried to rise again. It seemed to work as it made Blitz feel drowsy and he fell back to the ground.
From up in the stands, his friends and family were yelling for him to get up. Joe looked up to the Butterfree and said, "Start the count."
"OH, okay." The Butterfree announcer said before flying to where he was about the downed Blitz. Seeing Blitz's eyes starting to close he counted, "One!
"Come on, Blitz!" He heard some from Drudd's Pokémon herd shout. The Butterfree shouted, "Two!"
From the stands, even Dragara was hoping that Blitz would rise to the challenge and quietly said, "Come on, Blitz. I believe in you. Like how you believed in me."
"Three!" The Butterfree shouted as thoughts were running in Blitz's mind. He knew that he couldn't let his family, friends and the rest of the herd down. The Flame Pokémon heard the Butterfree shout, "Four!"
Blitz opened his eyes as best as he could and raised his left arm. He didn't know if it would work, but he knew that he needed to try just when he heard, "Five!"
Opening his jaws, he bit down on his arm with Fire Fang. Though the heat didn't exactly hurt, the pain from the bite caused his eyes to widen. He felt the drowsiness wearing off and he picked himself up. The Butterfree stopped counting and even Joe seemed impressed. The Snorlax chuckled, "Got to admit that that was a pretty good move there. Keeping yourself awake with a little pain."
"Like I said, I'm doing what I can to stay I this." Blitz said as he clutched his middle from the heavy hits. Joe shook his head, "Looks like you can't take much more, kiddo.
"So I think I'll end this." He said and raised his arm up. He came swinging with Hammer Arm and Blitz jumped back. The Snorlax came at him with the same attack, but Blitz countered with Dragon Claw before unleashing Dragon Breath. The attack caused Joe to stumble back and Blitz moved back a little as well. The Sleeping Pokémon shook his head before rushing at the Flame Pokémon with a growl. Joe swung his arm out, but this time it was Blitz who caught his wrist before throwing the Snorlax over his shoulders.
This greatly surprised everyone as Blitz did his best to hold Joe over his shoulders. Blitz had a little trouble as not only was the Snorlax a lot heavier than he was, but Joe struggling to escape his grip. Blitz struggled to keep his grip on Joe as he started walking to the edge of the arena. But Blitz could feel that his grip was starting to loosen and knew that he had to do something fast. With a heave, Blitz threw the Snorlax off and the larger Pokémon tumbled across the ground. Blitz then unleashed a powerful Flamethrower that hit the Sleeping Pokémon in the gut and sent him sliding to the edge. Blitz didn't let up as he flew right at Joe and started swatting the Snorlax with Slashes left and right. When he stopped his assault, Blitz quickly turned and swatted Joe with his tail. The blow sent Joe flying back to the edge of the arena and he huffed when he sat up. Blitz's claws started to glow as he prepared for his final attack with Dragon Claw. He flew right at the Snorlax and made an upper cut motion with his claws. The blow did the trick as it knocked Joe over the edge and he cried out as he started falling over the edge. But before he could fully fall, the Snorlax grabbed Blitz's arm and dragged him down after him. Blitz's claws were still glowing as he quickly sank them into the rocky surface of the arena.
Everyone was on their seats as both Pokémon were dangling over the side. Bonnie looked to her mother and asked, "Uh oh, what could happen?"
"If Blitz loses his grip, then he could fall into the water with Joe." Cynthia explained. But Sam was quick to add, "But if Joe were to hit the water first, then it would be in Blitz's favor to win seeing that Joe got the ring out before him."
"And should Joe try something?" Brock asked. Sam shook his head, "There ain't no telling."
Blitz strained to keep his grip on the arena while Joe fought to keep his grip on the Charizard. Blitz could feel his grip starting to loosen and tried to think of something. Looking down at the Snorlax, he took a deep breath before unleashing another torrent of Dragon Breath at Joe. The attack hit the Snorlax in the face and it caused him to let go. Joe yelled as he fell all the way down into the lake.
Up in the stands, everyone from Drudd's Pokémon herd cheered for Blitz as he pulled himself back onto the arena platform. The Charizard laid against the rocky surface and took a few deep breaths as that fight took a lot out of him. He felt something tap his shoulder and looked to see Brock, Barry and Dragara standing next to him. He groaned, "Uh, hey."
"Hey." Dragara and Barry offered with a grin. Brock presented Blitz with another berry and said, "Here, you deserve this, champ."
"Thanks." Blitz said and took the berry from his adopted uncle. Brock patted the Charizard on the shoulder and said, "Nice job on thinning the herd. Now there's only a few fighters left in the game."
"Does that mean we might have to fight each other?" Blitz asked, not wanting to fight either Brock, or Dragara in all honesty. Dragara gave him a small smile and said, "We'll just have to see what the next few matches have in store for us."
"I guess." Blitz said and ate the berry. When he had finished it, he started to feel much better. He could only hope that the rest of the tournament would go by quickly and smoothly.

Author's Note: I'm gonna go ahead and stop it here. I'll try to have part three up when I get it ready. And I'm going to go ahead and say, it might get a little intense. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
