True walked out of the morgue after a good day. Not that seeing dead people was good, but it had been a good day because none of the corpses had asked for Tru's help. She walked down the street happy that she didn't need to help anyone, she was wrong.
"Tru, hey, Tru, wait for me!"
Tru turned around and saw her brother running towards her. She saw a worried look on his face, but just a moment. Harrison changed his face as soon as he was in front of Tru.
"Harrison, what do you want?"
"True, I feel offended." Harrison put his hand on his chest like if Tru had just shot him on his chest.
Tru laughed and pushed her brother jokingly.
"Why do you feel offended?"
"I see my sister walking down a street by coincidence and I run up to her to say hello, and the only thing she can say is 'what do you want?'"
"Hi Harrison, I'm very happy to see you, what do you want?"
"Why do you think that I'm going to ask you for something?"
"Because, you are not seeing me walking down a street by coincidence, the morgue is on this street, and you know that."
"So you think I planned to see you here?"
"Yes Harrison."
"Ok, you're right sis."
"Now, what do you want?"
"A favor?"
"How much?"
"No money."
"Then, what do you need?"
"I need you to promise me something."
"What is it?"
"It doesn't matter if I don't ask you for my help, if I die; you're going to help me."
"But Harrison, it doesn't work like that. I can't just choose what days can be rewind days, someone needs to die and ask for my help."
"Well, if I die and someone else asked for your help, promise me that you're going to help me too."
"Harrison, what are you…"
"Just promise me, ok? Don't ask questions."
"Ok Harrison, I promise you that I will help you."
"Thank you Tru."
Harrison smiled and hugged Tru. Tru felt happy as she and her brother walked to her house. They talked about nothing in particular, but Tru felt that Harrison was worried about something that he wouldn't talk about with her. Harrison hugged Tru when they got to her house. He walked away after telling Tru that he would see her tomorrow to have lunch. Tru walked into her house happy, but still thinking about the promise she had just made to her brother. She felt that Harrison had made her promise her that because something was going to happen and he wanted her to be ready.
"Even if he hadn't ask me to promise him that, I would try to save him. I would give my life for him."
Tru felt a shiver running down her spine when she thought about it. She would give her life for her brother, but would she have to do it? Would she have to sacrifice her own life to save her brother's life? Tru felt that her questions would be answered very soon, she didn't know how soon, but she hoped that they would be answered before a tragedy occurred.
Tru sighed and walked to her bedroom, she was so tired that she didn't even feel the shadow watching her through the window. She fell asleep with the shadow guarding her dreams. The next day, that shadow would be the cause of Tru's worst tragedy. That shadow would soon become the shadow of death.
