Chapter Two: Where Goku turns up

The Z Fighters were all shocked and dismayed from the apparent fate of Goku. Krillin looked to Bulma and questioned, "Gah! Bulma? What in the world happened to Goku?"

"I-I don't know." Bulma shrugged, even though she was just scared. She shook her head as she told them, "It was supposed to just give them a boost of energy not disintegrate them."

"I can't feel Goku's energy." Future Trunks said as he looked about the place. Yamcha then stammered as he suggested, "C-C-Could h-he be…"

"Well, if he is dead then he's in Otherworld." Piccolo said. Looking to the others he said, "Maybe Kami can see if he's there. Then we'll make a game plan."

"Uh, I wouldn't waste your time with that." A disembodied voice said. They all looked up to the sky and Krillin asked, "King Kai, is that you?"

"You better believe it, Bald-man." King Kai said with a snicker. Krillin glared up at the sky and said, "Seriously?"

"Heh, heh." King Kai chuckled. But then he said, "But all funny business aside, I got some good news and some bad news."

"What's the good news?" Bulma asked, really worried about Goku. King Kai then said, "Well, good news is, Goku's not dead."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and King Kai explained, "Yeah, after Bulma's catastrophe of an invention-"

Bulma groaned and a vein appeared on her forehead. But she didn't say anything as King Kai continued, "I checked over at the Check-In Station to see if he was, and to our relief he's not there."

"So what's the bad news?" Piccolo asked while quirking a brow.

\_|_/

King Kai looked down as he continued his connection to the Earth. He shook his head as he told them, "The bad news is, I have no idea where he's at."

"What do you mean you don't know where he's at?" He could hear Tien ask. Then he heard Yamcha say, "Did you check all the planets in the North Galaxy?"

"Yeah, I did." King Kai nodded, even though they couldn't see it. Then he said, "I even triple checked just to make sure. But he's nowhere to be found."

"Is there anyone you can talk to?" A worried Bulma asked. King Kai then shrugged and said, "I can see if the Kai's of the other galaxies have sensed him, but it might take some time."

"Well, I don't think I need to explain how much we need him back." Piccolo said. King Kai nodded again and said, "Of course. Of course. The Earth is soon to have a full-scale crisis on its hands. It's not like there are other planets in the universe that need attention."

"Then juggle through your responsibilities! This is a real emergency!" Bulma shouted, making King Kai wince. He cleaned out his ear before saying, "All right. All right. To be honest, I want to find him as just as much as you do. I'll let you know once I have a lead on him."

"Thanks, King Kai. You're the best." Krillin said. King Kai sighed before cutting off the connection to Earth. Then looking up into the sky he said, "Oh, I sure hope that I can find you, Goku."

\_|_/

Back down on Earth, the Z Fighters then started conversing with each other. Future Trunks looked to Bulma and asked, "Do you think that you can reverse the effects of the machine?"

"I can try." Bulma said while looking to the Power Amplifier. But then she said, "But with the circuits fried and parts burned it's going to take me a little while to fix it."

"Uh, how long are we talking?" A nervous Krillin asked. Bulma nervously laughed and glanced back while saying, "At least a little over a year."

"What?!" The Z Fighters shouted, making her cringe. Yamcha then reminded, "Bulma, we don't have that kind of time. In only two more years the androids will show up."

"I know! I know!" Bulma said and clutched her head. She looked really worried as she said, "I was just wanting to help and-"

(Cue Cha-La Head Cha-La track from DBS Broly)

"Bulma, stop." Future Trunks said and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. She looked to him and he said, "What happened was an accident, and nothing can change that."

The group looked to the half-Saiyan and he said, "The best thing we can do now is hope for now is that King Kai will find Goku and we can figure out a way to get him home."

"You're right." Bulma nodded. Krillin smiled as well and he said, "Y-Yeah. That's what we should do. Just wait and see what happens."

Gohan looked up and said, "Be careful, Dad. Wherever you are."

Goku yelled as he was sent hurtling through time and space, not knowing where he was going. He couldn't see where he was or was he was going. He tried to stop himself, but he felt like a ping pong ball when he tried to fly and hit the invisible walls. Each time he hit a wall, a spark of electricity flashed from the spot.

Cha-La Head Cha-La

But he didn't have to wonder for long as he soon came blasting out of whatever wormhole he went through. Goku could barely keep a float as he also felt a little sick. Goku could feel the ground under his feet and stumbled for a moment before standing still. His head spun as he was finally able to get a good look around and could see that he was underneath a structure.

Cha-La Head Cha-La

When he turned around, he could see a tall tower at the other end of the structure. He saw a logo half-way up the tower and saw that it had the image of a paw print on it. Goku then commented, "That's kind of a weird looking logo."

Then he fell onto his knees and said, "I can't sense any of the guys. I wonder where I am."

With a groan, he fell onto his face in the sand. He laid there motionless as the ocean waves crashed against the beach in front of him.

Up on the island with the tower, all was quiet as the sun started to rise on a new day. Up at the top of the tower, a boy in a red and white jacket, black pants and a spiky haircut stood in the observatory when he pulled out a tablet of sorts and pulled out an extension of the pad. Then deciding to call his team he pressed the center button surrounded by six symbols; a police symbol, a firefighter symbol, a construction symbol, a recycle symbol, a naval symbol and an air pilot symbol. The six symbols glowed their respective colors and the boy said, "Paw Patrol, to the Lookout!"

\_|_/

Down below, a group of pup houses sat around the tower. Each had their own colors; blue, red, yellow, green, orange and pink. And in each of those pup houses were dogs; a German Shepherd, a Dalmatian, a Bulldog, a mixed-breed, a Chocolate Labrador and a Cockapoo. Suddenly the tags on their collars beeped and glowed, then they heard their friend's voice, "Paw Patrol, to the Lookout!"

"Ryder needs us!" All six pups shouted as they rose on their feet. Then running to the Lookout's entrance they entered one at a time. The last one was the Dalmatian and he tripped over a food bowl. He cried out and started tumbling head over paws into the Lookout. The other pups had gotten into the elevator and saw their friend coming and they shouted, "Look out!"

But the Dalmatian ended up crashing into them. He popped up and said, "Sorry, guys. Know what I'm sayin'?"

They all started laughing from the joke as the elevator doors closed. Then it started to lift up to the top of the tower. The elevator stopped for a second behind the giant dog print logo and it flashed as the pups got into their gear. When the elevator continued on its way, the pups were wearing their iconic uniforms; the Dalmatian was wearing his firefighter hat on his head, had red vest on and red pup pack on his back, the Chocolate Labrador wore an orange deep sea helmet on his head, had an orange vest on and orange pup pack on his back, the Bulldog wore a yellow construction hat on his head, had a yellow vest on and a yellow pup pack on his back, the German Shepherd wore a blue police cap on his head, had a blue vest on and a blue pup pack on his back, the grey mixed breed wore a green cap on his head, had a green vest on and a green pup pack on his back and the Cockapoo wore pink goggles on her head, had a pink flight vest on and pink pup pack on her back. They all sat attention and the German Shepard said, "Ready, for action, Ryder, sir!"

"Thanks for coming so quickly, pups." Ryder said as a giant screen lowered itself behind him. Then he said, "But there are no emergencies as of right now. But I didn't say that we shouldn't stay vigilant. So we're just going to do a small patrol just in case. Okay, pups?"

All the pups howled or yipped in agreement to this idea. Sliding through his pup pad, he got started when the police symbol came up, "Chase," The German Shepherd stood at attention as Ryder then said, "I want you to check in the more heavily populated area downtown for any signs of trouble."

"Chase is on the case!" Chase said with a nod. Ryder nodded back before swiping again and this time the recycle symbol came up, "Rocky," The grey mixed breed stood at attention and Ryder said, "If you wouldn't mind taking a look around the school district."

"Green means go!" An eager Rocky said and his tail wagged. Ryder then made another swipe and it stopped on the construction symbol, "Rubble," The Bulldog listened as Ryder then said, "I want you to check around City Hall and the new construction site to see if anything looks suspicious."

"Rubble on the double!" Rubble barked with a smirk. With another swipe, the pup pad landed on the firefighter symbol, "Marshall," The Dalmatian was prepared as Ryder said, "I need you to check around the business district and see if anyone needs help."

"I'm fired up!" Marshall said with a determined grin. A fifth swipe and the pad stopped on the naval symbol, "Zuma," The Chocolate Labrador listened and Ryder said, "I need you to check around the bay to see if there's any marine based trouble around."

"Let's dive in!" Zuma shouted with eagerness. A final swipe and the air pilot symbol came in to view, "Skye," The Cockapoo waited for instructions and Ryder told her, "Keep a look out from the air since you'll be able to help keep an eye out."

"This puppy's gotta fly!" Skye shouted after doing a flip through the air. Ryder then said, "And I'll head out too, after I check in on Jake and Everest, Carlos and Tracker and the twins." Then with a fist in the air he shouted, "All right, Paw Patrol is on a roll!"

All the pups howled or yipped again before making their way to the slide. One by one they jumped down to get to their pup houses/vehicles. Chase was the first to slide down followed by Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma and finally Skye.

One by one, the pups would land in the vehicles as they started to transform; the seats would open up when they landed, the spots they slept closed, the accessories moved into their places and the wheels popped out or belts formed on the sides. The pups drove their vehicles out of the way when they were ready and the next pup entered their vehicles. Once they were all ready, each of the pups drove off down the ramp and started to head out.

Up in the observatory of the Lookout, Ryder used the monitor to watch as the pups made their way into town. When he saw them approach their designated areas, he decided to do his part. He first contacted the twins. The screen rang, but there wasn't any answer until the machine on their tags clicked on. Ryder thought that they might be dealing with an emergency so he decided to leave a message, "Hey, Ella and Tuck. Just wanted to check in and see how you were doing and if you needed help. Talk to you guys later."

When he cleared the screen, Ryder tried contacting Carlos and Tracker. He didn't have much luck with them so he left them a message as well. Then he contacted Jake and Everest and had more success in reaching them. The Mountain Man and the Mountain Pup appeared on his screen with the latter saying with a wide smile, "Hi, Ryder!"

"How's it hanging, dude?" Jake asked with a grin. Ryder chuckled and then said, "Just fine here and Adventure Bay. I just sent the pups to do a routine check around town and wanted to check in on you."

"Oh, we're fine up here, Ryder." Jake nodded to assure him. Everest then said, "But if you need help just let me know and I'll be there faster than a rabbit on a sugar rush."

This made Ryder laugh before saying, "If something does come up, I'll be sure to let you know, Everest. Over and out."

"Bye, Ryder." Everest and Jake said before the connection cut off. Ryder then said, "I better hurry up and join the pups on patrol."

Then running towards the fireman's pole, Ryder grabbed hold while spinning before dropping down to the lower levels of the Lookout. When he dropped down, he landed on his ATV before cranking it up. The doors to where he housed his ATV opened and he put the pedal to the metal and zoomed out into the streets of Adventure Bay.

\_|_/

Chase made sure to keep a lookout for both trouble and on the road while me made his rounds through the populated area. He didn't see much going on while he made his way down the street. He could see Katie and Callie making their way to the Pet Parlor. When he was sure that everything was good, Chase slowed down before contacting his owner and said, "Ryder, sir, the residential area appears to be in the clear."

"Good work, Chase." Ryder's voice said through the pup tag. Then he awaited further instructions and Ryder said, "Just keep a look out until we've heard from the others."

"Yes, sir." Chase nodded and continued to drive through the neighborhood.

\_|_/

At the school district, Rocky drove around all three schools and had watched as students and teachers started to head inside. Rocky pulled to a stop at the last school and took a look around. Keeping an eye and an ear out, Rocky couldn't see any trouble around. He saw Alex walking up to the school and waved back when the boy waved first. Tapping his pup tag, Rocky called in, "Ryder, school district is looking good to me."

"That's good to hear, Rocky." Ryder said, making Rocky smile in appreciation. Then he said, "Just be sure to keep an eye out until everyone calls in."

"You got it, Ryder." Rocky said and then started driving again.

\_|_/

Over by the construction area, Rubble had to keep an eye out for the cranes and other big vehicles that could do some serious damage. He nodded in approval when everything seemed to check out. Then deciding to check on City Hall next, Rubble made his way over. When he pulled up, the Bulldog saw Mayor Goodway walking up to the front door of City Hall, with her purse and purse chicken, Chickeletta, before turning and saw Rubble. Mayor Goodway smiled and waved to him and said, "Good morning, Rubble."

"Hiya, Mayor Goodway." Rubble waved back. Then he asked, "Everything okay today?"

"Oh, everything seems to be just fine today." The Mayor said with a smile. Then she said, "Give my best to Ryder."

"Will do." Rubble nodded and tipped his construction helmet. This caused Goodway to chuckle before walking into the building. When the door shut, Rubble then contacted his owner, "Ryder, City Hall and the new construction site are A-Okay." Then he added, "Oh, and Mayor Goodway says hello."

Ryder laughed before saying, "Okay, then. Chase and Rocky have given the all clear at their locations too. We just have to wait on Marshall, Zuma and Skye."

"Okay, Ryder." Rubble said and started to drive through his area again.

Up in the air, Skye looked down on the town from her helicopter. She was glad that there were no eagles or other big birds to scare her, even though she was starting not to fear them anymore as much. Plus, as she looked around she didn't see any signs of danger. Deciding to call in, Skye tapped her pup tag and said, "Ryder, nothing to report up here. It's just clear skies with a few clouds here and there."

"Great work, Skye." Ryder said to her. Then he said, "We just have to wait for Marshall and Zuma's reports."

"You got it, Ryder." Skye said as she flew a little lower. Had she looked down at the bridge right when she passed over it, she would have seen someone's arm sitting in the light.

Marshall drove down the business district a few good times and smiled when he didn't see any signs that a fire could start or someone getting hurt. He could see both Mr. Porter and Katie and Callie walking to their respective businesses. The Dalmatian even saw Daring Danny X riding around on his bike. But luckily, the young daredevil didn't seem to be doing anything dangerous on his way down the street. Everything else seemed to be fine and Marshall decided to call in, "Ryder, the business district is all clear of danger. Even Daring Danny X doesn't seem to be doing any stunts at the moment."

"Glad to hear, Marshall." Ryder acknowledged. Then he informed, "Zuma's the only one to report in."

"Roger that, Ryder." Marshall nodded before starting to drive again. As he drove by the beach, he didn't look since Zuma would be checking on it soon and would do a better look. But when he glanced back to the bridge, he saw something underneath the end that came into the town. Deciding to let Zuma know, he tapped his pup tag.

\_|_/

(Cue Dragon Ball Super: Broly's Theme from DBS Broly)

Zuma had hit the water after jumping off a dock and howled as his hovercraft moved across the water. He started his patrol by going around Capt. Turbot's island and then back towards the bay. He didn't see anything but Wally the Walrus as he swam by and was about to call in when his pup tag started to get a call beforehand. Answering the call, he could hear the Fire pup's voice, "Hey, Zuma."

"Yeah, Mawshall?" Zuma asked while quirking a brow. Marshall then said, "I saw something by the bridge as I was passing by. I thought that you might be able to get a much better look from the water."

"I could see what it is." Zuma said as he began to turn towards the bridge. As he faced the bridge he told the Dalmatian, "I'll let you know what it is if I see it."

"Okay, Zuma." Marshall said before cutting off the link. Zuma sped towards the bridge but kept a look out for anyone passing by, whether they be human, pup or marine life. When he neared the bridge, Zuma could see something lying on the sands underneath the structure. When he could make out what it was, Zuma's eyes widened and he tapped his pup tag. Then calling everyone he shouted, "Wyder, guys, you need to get over here!" Then he said, "And Mawshall, get your med kit, fast!"

(End of track)

Before he could answer Ryder or the other pups, Zuma came to the shore and parked his hovercraft on the sand. Then hopping out of his vehicle, Zuma ran over to the unconscious man. The Chocolate Labrador walked around him and sniffed the air and could tell by smell that the man was alive. Then coming up to the man's head, he nudged it with his own and said, "Come on, mister, you got to wake up."

But when he didn't get any response from the man, Zuma just sat down and waited for the others to show up. The Chocolate Labrador didn't have to wait long as he could hear the sounds of the others' vehicles pulling up. Ryder and the pups all ran down the beach and came to a stop when they saw Zuma sitting next to the unconscious man. Marshall was the last to come up as he had switched his firefighter pup pack for his medical pup pack and hat. Glancing up to his head, Marshall then barked, "Ruff! Stethoscope!"

The pieces to the stethoscope came down and connected together and it hung around his neck. Walking up to the man, Marshall took the end with his paw and Ryder helped him out with the pieces for his ears. But when they touched his skin, Marshall shivered and said, "Ooh, that's cold!"

This caused Ryder and the other pups to laugh at his silliness. Marshall then got started with his examination by placing the end of the stethoscope against the man's back. Listening very closely, Marshall could hear the man's heart beating. Then moving the piece a little, he could also hear the man breathing and breathed a sigh of relief. The others waited for what he had to say, and Marshall said, "Good news, he's okay."

"And the bad news?" Chase asked. Marshall then said, "I think we just need to carefully wake him up."

"Well, what do you suggest?" Ryder asked him. Marshall took a moment to think. Then he said, "We could try splashing a little water on his face, try using smelling salts-"

"Do you even have smelling salts?" Rubble interrupted with a quirked brow. Marshall was about to say something but then shook his head, "No, not really."

"We could try taking him back to the Lookout or to the hospital." Rocky suggested. On the word, 'hospital' it seemed to make the man twitch a little. Sky had noticed it and said, "Hey, he moved."

They all looked down but saw that he wasn't moving again. Chase looked to her and asked, "Are you sure he did?"

"I know I saw him move. Like a little twitch." Skye nodded. Then she said, "It was after Rocky said something about the Lookout or the hospital."

The man twitched again, and this time they all saw it. Rubble then said, "Well, I guess he can still hear what we're saying."

"Let's try the water thing." Ryder decided. They all nodded in agreement that that would be the best course of action. Rubble then walked up to the man's face and took a deep breath. Chase then said, "Uh, Rubble we need to use water to wake him up."

"I know." Rubble said as he mentally prepared himself and closed his eyes. The group was horrified when they thought and Skye asked, "Wait, you're not gonna…"

Rubble then opened his eyes and they all gasped with looks of either disgust or shock. But it turned out to be okay as Rubble started to lick the man's face. The man's face started to twitch from the assault of Rubble's tongue. Skye smiled and said, "It's working, you guys."

Skye then moved forward and started licking the man's face as well. He twitched even more. Marshall moved to join in, but he ended up tripping over the piece of his stethoscope and fell onto the man's back. The man finally woke up and cried out, "Gah!"

This caused Ryder and the pups to all jump back. Well, almost all the pups as Marshall stood on the man's back and looked down as he looked up. The man then said, "Uh, hi, there."

Author's Note: And I'm gonna stop right here. In the next chapter will be the time for introductions and the likes. I don't know if I'll include the DBZ characters in the next chapter, but we'll hear from them soon. Did I scare you guys with Rubble? Or gross you out? Don't worry, I wouldn't really do that. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
