Chapter Four: Goku's Origin Story - Dragon Ball

Marshall, Chase, Skye, Zuma, and Rubble sat around the Saiyan while Ryder and Rocky sat next to the bike, but still listened while getting to work on it. Goku looked up and said, "I don't remember much, but I apparently came from a far away world called Planet Vegeta when I was just a baby. I had been informed that my people were a race of conquerors that took planets to make a fortune or something."

This made everyone wide eyed, even the two working. But Goku reassured them by shaking his head, "I wouldn't worry about it. 'Cause sometime after I was sent off planet, most the Saiyan race was destroyed."

They gasped, thinking that one's people were wiped out. Goku then thought of Gohan, Vegeta and Future Trunks when he said, "I know what you're all thinking, but in all honesty most of the Saiyans weren't all that pleasant, save for a few."

"Okay." Chase said and quirked a brow. Goku then continued, "After a while of flying through space, my pod crash landed on my Earth, where I was found by a kind old man named Son Gohan. He took me in and raised me."

"Aw." Skye said while tilting her head to the side a little. Goku chuckled at the sight and said, "Yeah, I was told that I was a bit of a handful because of my Saiyan heritage, but it all changed one fateful day."

"What happened?" Zuma asked, not knowing if he or the others would like where it was going. The storyteller then said, "I was told that one day my Grandpa was going for a walk with me and I had fallen out of the basket. I hit my head really hard and fell unconscious."

This made Ryder, Rocky and the pups look to him with really wide eyes. Goku then said, "But after resting a while, I got better and I wasn't as violent as before."

Their eyes returned to their former positions and he continued, "When I got old enough, Grandpa Gohan taught me how to read, do a little math, and taught me martial arts."

"Wow, you're grandpa sounds neat, Goku." Rocky said while tightening a few bolts on the bike. Goku then said, "Yeah, he was a great guy."

Everyone caught the 'was' in that sentence and Ryder asked, "What happened to him?"

"What had happened was another part of my Saiyan heritage." Goku started, "He once warned me that a giant monkey was usually seen during the full moon. And during the night, I had been outside and looked up at the full moon. I don't remember much after that, but when I finally came to my senses, Grandpa Gohan was gone."

"I'm so sorry, Goku." Marshall said as he could feel himself tearing up. Chase then asked, "Were you the giant monkey?"

"Yeah, and I'll explain that part later in the story." Goku promised. The pups looked to each other and decided to wait. Goku then continued with his tale, "For a little while, I lived on my own. And a few years later, I met my first friend when she came to the mountain where I live."

"Aw." Skye thought as she thought it was sweet. Goku then said, "Her name's Bulma Briefs and I met her on the side of a road after I did some fishing. I thought her car was a monster and I attacked it."

"You attacked a car?" Zuma asked, finding it odd. Goku chuckled before explaining, "Yeah, but in my defense, I hadn't seen much of the world since I lived with my grandpa for so long so I wouldn't know much."

"That does make sense." Marshall nodded with a small grin. Goku then continued, "So after an event of confusion, the two of us got to know each other better. She told me that she had come into the mountains searching for an object that was one of seven."

"What was the object?" A curious Rocky asked while glancing over for a second. Goku then said, "It was the Four-star Dragon Ball that my grandpa had."

"What's a Dragon Ball?" Rubble asked while tilting his head a little. Goku then said, "I kind of wish that I had picture or something so I could show you. Basically, it's an orange ball with a set number of red stars in it. Like I said, my grandpa's was the Four-star ball. But back to the story, she had come seeking all seven and had found mine with her Dragon Radar. She taught me a lot about how the world works and we met a few friends along the way. We stopped our friend Oolong from terrorizing a village."

"Why was he terrowizing a village?" Zuma asked. Goku then said, "I think it was because he was lonely or something."

"Not much of a good reason if you ask me." Chase commented. Goku shrugged with a grin and said, "You do have a point there, Chase. Anyway, after getting Oolong to join us, we met Yamcha and Puar, and it turns out that Puar the cat was an old classmate of Oolong's in shape-shifting school."

"Shape-shifting school? That sounds neat." Rubble said as it sounded amazing to him. Goku then continued, "The five of us got into a fight for the Dragon Balls with a guy named Emperor Pilaf. And while we were captured, I stared at the moon again."

This caused the seven to look at him with wide eyes again. Goku then reassured, "Don't worry. We all made it out. And they were able to stop my transformations by cutting off my tail."

"You had a tail?" Marshall asked finding it both amazing and strange. Goku nodded and then said, "Yeah, and since it was cut off, I couldn't transform into the giant ape anymore."

"But apes don't have tails." Rocky shook his head. Goku smirked and said, "Well, my people do have one while in our normal form and in the Great Ape form. Anyway, since we stopped the bad guys from making a world dominating wish on the Dragon Balls, we decided to separate for a while."

"Where did your friends go?" Skye asked, feeling sad that friends had to say goodbye. Goku then said, "Well, I know that Bulma, Yamcha, Puar and Oolong all went to West City for a while. I on the other hand went to my grandpa's master to receive training. I had met him during the Dragon Ball hunt after saving his talking turtle from a bandit."

"A talking turtle?" Marshall asked. Goku nodded and said, "Mm-hmm. He also gave me a flying cloud as a way to say thanks. It took a little convincing but Master Roshi let me both and another student learn under him."

"Another student? And he gave you a flying cloud." Ryder said. Goku then told them, "Yeah. At first, me and Krillin started out as rivals of sorts, but over time we became good friends. Krillin was once a monk who decided to get a little training in. You'd like him, he's short, bald and doesn't have a nose." The pups all gave him quirked brows at this as they didn't know what to say, "And the flying cloud was called the flying Nimbus that only allowed someone pure of heart to ride it. Anyway, after doing some tasks, a little training and a few other lessons from Master Roshi, me and Krillin had signed up for our first Martial Arts Tournament."

"How old were you when you first competed?" Rubble asked, thinking that it sounded exciting. Goku then said, "Well, before meeting Master Roshi, I wasn't all that great with math so I thought that I was fourteen, but it turns out that I was only twelve years old."

"That's a pretty young age to enter a fighting tournament, Goku. We're you nervous?" Ryder asked as he popped off the damaged front tire. Goku shook his head and said, "Nope. I was actually quite excited for it. I faced a few strong opponents and I even managed to regrow my tail."

"Your tail grew back?" Chase asked with a worried look. Goku then said, "Yeah, and it caused kind of a big whoopsie-daisy during the tournament. I kind of got another glimpse of the moon."

"Another glimpse?!" All the pups and Ryder asked, jaws dropped. Goku chuckled and said, "Yeah, I saw it and transformed during the tournament. But luckily, my opponent, Jackie Chun quickly acted and fired a beam of Ki at the moon and blew it up."

"He blew up the moon?" Rubble asked, as the seven were all wondering how badly it could've effected Goku's home. Goku shrugged and said, "Yeah, he kind of had to in order to change me back. But after a few more minutes of our battle we went for one more attack where we ended up kicking each other in the chins."

"And who won?" Skye asked, wanting to know the outcome. Goku then said, "Well, it turned out that Jackie Chun one since he had more length on his side with his kick. His foot was able to hit mine much harder than I could him. So he ended up winning the tournament. But Master Roshi was so impressed with how we performed during the tournament that he treated me, Krillin and our friends to a feast."

"That was nice." Zuma nodded. Rocky then asked, "What did you do after the tournament?"

"Well, since it had been about a few years since they were last used," Goku said as he remembered his adventures, "I thought it was about to start my hunt for the seven Dragon Balls to find my Grandpa's. And I met some new friends and also fought against some real bad guys along the way."

"Bad guys?" Rubble asked, getting the sense that this story was starting to take a twist. Goku nodded and said, "Yeah, they were called the 'Red Ribbon' army and they were trying to take over the world. They had crazy strong fighters but also a large assortment of weapons at their disposal."

Goku scratched his chin before saying, "I was able to fight off most of the Red Ribbon army and collect a few of the Dragon Balls as I went along with some friends, but I guess my biggest challenge came when I fought against General Tao. He was able to outclass me with his speed and he ended up killing the father of my friend Upa."

Ryder and the pups gasped in horror to this. Marshall then asked, "What happened next?"

"Well, after my defeat, I heard of another teacher who could help me in defeating General Tao." Goku told them. Then he said, "So after climbing the pole up to Korin's place which took a little while I made it. Korin is a talking white cat with a walking stick, by the way."

"A talking white cat?" Chase asked. Looking to the others he said, "Whelp, didn't see that one coming."

"What did he teach you?" Zuma asked. Goku then told them, "Well, during the time of the lesson, I hadn't realized that it was the lesson and I was able to get faster and a little stronger as well. So I went back down just as General Tao came back to finish what he had started. We fought again but this time I was able to beat him."

"All right, Goku beats the bad guy!" Rubble cheered, followed by a few approving howls from the other pups, minus Rocky since he was helping Ryder and didn't want to be too loud. The mixed-breed still approved of evil being defeated. Then he asked, "So what happened next?"

"Well, since there were still a few bad guys out there and they too were collecting the Dragon Balls, I had to go and get them back. That was when I had fought them and their new leader." Goku told them. This confused them and Skye asked, "New leader? What happened to their old one?"

"I'm not so sure about that." Goku said as he scratched the side of his face with a finger. Then he continued the story, "But the new leader of the Red Ribbon Army offered me a place with them, but since they had tried to hurt my friends and all naturally I refused."

"Well, that's good." Ryder said. Goku looked to him and they boy said, "Anyone who chooses to do bad things can't be up to anything good."

"And you're right about that." Goku agreed with him. Then he said, "Once I defeated him and the rest of the army, I had most of the Dragon Balls in hand. But I was still missing one final ball."

"Where was it?" Skye asked, feeling that it was one rollercoaster ride of a story. Goku then said, "Well, I was able to get help from a fortunetelling witch named Baba. And only by defeating her five champions would I be able to find the location. One of the champions happened to be my grandpa at the time."

"Your grandpa? But I thought he was, uh…" Rubble stopped as he didn't know what to say without being offensive. Goku then smiled as he said, "Yeah, I get it. But Lady Baba has the ability to bring people back to the mortal world for a full day. So after fighting him and a few monster-based champions."

"They were monsters? Which ones?" Rubble asked while tilting his head a little. Goku used his fingers as he said, "Let's see there was Devilman, a vampire, an invisible man and a mummy if I remember correctly. All of them were skilled fighters. And I had my friend Krillin, Yamcha, Puar and Upa on my team to help me out.

"So after facing each of them, I finally came up against my grandpa and I was surprised to see that it was him." Goku chuckled as he remembered the reunion. Then he said, "After our battle, my team was rewarded with Fortuneteller Baba revealing the location of the final Dragon Ball. It was in the hands of a trio of bad guys that me and my friends had run into during the first hunt for the Dragon Balls."

"And you were able to beat them as well." Rubble guessed with a smirk. Goku nodded and said, "You are right about me beating them, but it wasn't easy since they were using mech suits to fight."

"Mech suits?" Ryder asked from his spot. Goku nodded again and then said, "Yeah, these guys weren't really fighters all that much. So after a quick brawl I was able to beat them and secure the final Dragon Ball.

"Then after bringing them all together, we summoned the Eternal Dragon and wished for those hurt or taken by the Red Ribbon Army to come back to life." Goku finished that part of the story. Ryder then asked, "So, the seven Dragon Balls are able to revive the dead?"

"Oh, they can do that and a few other things." Goku said. Then he said, "They're able to give someone eternal life, make things appear and I heard that it can even help become a ruler."

"Wow." All the pups said in amazement. Ryder then asked, "That does sound neat and all, but can they be used ever time that a person wants to make a wish?"

"Well, not exactly that way." Goku said. Then he told them, "First you have to find all seven in order to make the wish and once a wish has been made, the Dragon Balls lift up into the sky before shooting out to a new spot somewhere and turn to stone for about a year. But luckily I was able to grab the Four-Star Ball before it disappeared with the others."

"Oh," Marshall said as he figured something out. They all looked to him and he said, "and I guess since you were training with Master Roshi for a while, it gave you plenty of time until they fully recharged."

"Yep." Goku nodded. Then he said, "But then Master Roshi told me that I needed to train myself to where I wouldn't be weak the next time something or someone should grab my tail."

"Huh?" All the pups said in confusion. Ryder then asked, "What happens when you're tail is grabbed, Goku?"

"Well, it's a weakness when it comes to my people, but when a Saiyan's tail is grabbed it leaves them weakened." Goku explained. Rubble then said, "Oh, so basically, your tail is kind of like your Kryptonite."

"I guess." Goku shrugged. Then he said, "Even though I have no idea what that is."

The pups looked to each other and started chuckling. Goku then continued the story, "So after about three years of training myself, I was nearly late for the next tournament. But I made it in time."

"Another tournament?" Ryder asked. Goku nodded and then said, "Yeah, a tournament is where you can put what you've learned to the test. And this time, there was an old rival of my teacher there with a couple of his own students."

"Your teacher had a rival?" Skye asked. Goku nodded and said, "Yeah. The competition between us and them was pretty fierce. The more skilled of the students, Tien, he acted on his master's ways of doing what it took to win. He broke Yamcha's legs in the first round."

"He broke your friend's legs?" Chase asked, a little outraged that someone would willingly do that. Goku then said, "Krillin had a bit more luck with his opponent by using math to distract Chiaotzu."

"Heh, math as a weapon." Zuma chuckled. Goku then said, "But in the end, it came down to me vs Tien in the final round. His teacher decided to use cheating methods to try and win to show that his school was better."

"But it didn't work right?" Rubble asked. Goku gave a smirk and then said, "It sure didn't. Tien knew that his master's way wasn't honorable, and a blast from Jackie Chun sent him flying off. With him gone, me and Tien could finish our battle uninterrupted.

"We were both skilled as we fought, but soon Tien used a powerful attack called the Tri-Beam and it destroyed the arena." Goku said, "Luckily I was able to jump out of the way and was falling towards the ground. The two of us had used up most of our energy and though he could levitate, he was dropping too."

"What happens if you were to touch the ground?" A curious Rubble asked. Goku then said, "Well, if one was to fall off the ring, then it would be a ring out. And since the ring was destroyed-"

"Then it would have been a ring out when either of you touched the ground." Marshall finished. Skye then said, "But since Tien had his levitation technique, he had an advantage."

"He did." Goku agreed with her. Then he said, "So tried to pool what strength I had left and started to perform my signature move that I learned from Master Roshi: the Kamehameha Wave."

"Ooh." All the pups said in astonishment. Goku then continued, "Tien thought I would try to hit him with it, but I pulled a fast one and quickly turned around. I flew towards Tien and hit him with my head. The two of us were falling fast to the ground and it seemed like Tien was going to hit the ground first."

"But I'm starting to guess…" Rocky said. Goku chuckled and said, "Yeah, a van happened to move in front of me and when I bounced off of it, I hit the ground first and Tien ended up winning."

All the pups and Ryder gasped. Zuma then asked, "Wewe you weally upset about losing, Goku?"

"Nah, although Tien did think that I deserved to win since I was able outlast him in terms of strength." Goku said. But he shrugged and said, "But I was okay about losing." But his face fell when he remembered what happened next.

The pups noticed his expression and Marshall asked, "What's wrong, Goku?"

"Well, this next part of my story is where things kind of went bad." Goku said. But he still told it anyway and said, "You see, after the tournament was over, I had forgotten my things inside the main building, and Krillin rushed in to get it for me. But what happened next had been a tragedy."

"What happened?" Skye asked, feeling both sad and scared. Goku then said, "A monster had come for the Dragon Ball that I had and it killed Krillin in the process."

All the pups gasped again and felt sad for Goku. Rocky then asked, "What about the monster? What did you do about it?"

"Well, acting on my anger, I jumped on my Flying Nimbus and chased after the monster alone." Goku continued his story, "When I had met up with it, it had used laser beams from its eyes to destroy my Flying Nimbus and I fell the ground. When I came too I met a new friend named Yajirobe."

"Who was he?" Skye asked. Goku then said, "He was a loner who wandered the wilderness. We kind of got into a fight when I had eaten the fish that he had caught."

"You had eaten his fish?" Zuma asked, finding it a little funny. Goku cracked a smirk as well and said, "Yeah, I was so hungry, plus a little low on strength since the tournament that the fish kind of helped."

All the pups giggled at that. Goku then continued, "So even after our rough first meeting, we were interrupted by the monster that had killed Krillin and taken the Four-Star ball. He had come for the One-Star ball that Yajirobe had."

"But he didn't get it, did he?" Skye asked with a shake of her head. Goku shook his head as well and said, "He didn't, for since I had something to eat I was back to full strength and I was able to defeat him. The monster didn't stand a chance, but me and Yajirobe's troubles were just starting when a monster that was in cahoots to the first monster showed up."

"What did it look like?" Rubble asked. Goku then tried to remember the description, "It was kind of like a green dragon-man if I remember correctly. Anyway, since I had taken out the first monster, Yajirobe took on the other one."

"Yajirobe fought against the second monster?" Skye asked. Goku nodded and said, "Yeah. And though he had a little trouble at first, Yajirobe was able to get the drop on him and slice the monster into pieces with his sword."

The pups all cringed from hearing that. Goku then said, "Uh, sorry. But anyway, after defeating the two of them, their boss, the Evil Demon King Piccolo showed up to take Yajirobe's ball."

"How did that fight go?" Marshall asked. Goku shook his head and then said, "I didn't fair to well against him. Though I had lived after the fight, I was too weak. But I did know about a way to get stronger."

"How?" The pups asked. Even Ryder was starting to get into the story as Goku then said, "Well, after convincing Yajirobe to take me there, he carried me all the way up Korin's Pole on his back."

"He was able to carry you up there during the whole climb?" Chase asked in amazement. Goku nodded and then said, "Yeah, and when we made it to the top, Korin was able to heal me using a Senzu Bean?"

"Senzu Bean?" Rubble asked. Goku then explained, "It's a special bean that heals battle injuries and also can make you feel full for a few days." He laughed and said, "You should have seen Yajirobe after he ate a handful of the beans. His belly bulged out and he hadn't known what would have happened."

Ryder and the pups gave a few laughs as they thought about what Yajirobe must have looked like. Goku then continued his story, "So after asking Master Korin what I could do, he gave me this special tea, and though it was a type of poison, it was supposed to make me stronger."

"You drank poison?!" Marshall shouted in disbelief and stood up. Goku made a calming motion with his hands and he said, "Yeah, but it was only so that I could get strong enough to beat Demon King Piccolo."

"How long did it take?" Skye asked, still worried about Goku drinking poison. Goku then said, "It took a little while, but when I had come out of it, I was strong enough to face Piccolo again. But I hadn't known what had happened while I was out."

"What did happen?" Ryder asked. Goku looked to the ground and he said, "Master Roshi and Chiaotzu had been killed when they had tried to fight King Piccolo."

Once again, the pups and Ryder gasped in sadness for Goku. Goku then said, "So after a long battle alongside Tien, Piccolo almost had us beat. And even though he had broken my arm and a leg, I was able to power through it and went through the monster with my fist."

They turned green again and Goku said, "Uh, sorry again. But just as King Piccolo was about to die he spat something out."

"Ew!" Skye grimaced. Goku then said, "Yeah, it was. The important thing at the moment was, that he had been defeated. But me nor Tien could really celebrate."

"Why not?" Zuma asked. Then he said, "With the Dwagon Balls, you could have revived Kwillin, Chiaotzu and Master Woshi."

"Well, I would have, but King Piccolo had used the Dragon Balls to wish for his youth back. And then he said that he had destroyed Shenron." Goku regrettably told them. All eyes widened to the news. Goku then gave them hope as he said, "But after getting back to Korin's place and got another Senzu Bean, he had told me that the maker of the Dragon Balls lived in a Lookout high above his place."

"So, you were able to go up to the Lookout and ask the creator of Shenron?" Skye asked. Goku shrugged as he said, "Not exactly. Since I couldn't fly myself, I would need to use my Power Pole to get up to the Lookout, but I had left it on the battlefield."

"So how did you get it back?" Chase asked. Goku then said, "Well, after Korin gave me a new Flying Nimbus, I went back to Fortuneteller Baba's place to see if she could help me, and I didn't even have to fight her champions this time since I beat King Piccolo."

"Wow, I guess she didn't want her champions to get scared." Chase commented. Goku nodded and said, "That's almost how it sounded to me. Anyway, she told me that the Power Pole was located at Master Roshi's place. I was able to get there pretty fast and everyone was happy to see me. But I was in such a rush that I quickly told them not to bury anyone and that I was meeting with the Guardian of the Earth.

"When I finally got back to Korin's place, he led me onto the roof where I placed the Power Pole and he told me to say the command 'Power Pole Extend' and I was carried up into the sky."

"How long did it the trip take this time?" Skye asked him. Goku then said, "Well, it didn't take as long as climbing up the pole to Korin's place. So when I finally reached the Lookout, I was met by Mr. Popo, the Guardian's assistant."

"Aw, he sounds nice." Marshall complimented. Goku then said, "He is. But then when I got a glimpse of the Guardian's face, my jaw dropped when I thought that I would have to fight Piccolo again."

"Why's that?" Ryder asked. Goku then said, "Because he looked exactly like King Piccolo."

"What?!" They all yelled in disbelief. Skye then asked, "How is that possible? I twin brother perhaps?"

"Kind of, but I'll explain in a minute." Goku promised. Then he continued the story, "But when he assured me that he wasn't King Piccolo, I did calm down. I asked him if he could restore the dragon and he was able to. When the wish for everyone to be revived had been made he did tell me some pretty big news. He told me that he needed to prepare me for the coming of Piccolo's son, Piccolo Jr."

"Piccolo Jr. You mean that King Piccolo had a child? How?" Chase asked, thinking that nothing could stop King Piccolo even if he was dead. Goku then reminded, "Remember when I said that King Piccolo had spit something out in his final moments?"

"Uh-huh." They all nodded. Goku then said, "Well, it turns out that what King Piccolo had spit out was an egg and it hatched into a boy that he named after himself."

"Um…" Rocky started to say, but couldn't find the words. Skye then said, "Are you sure that it was 'king' and not 'queen' Piccolo? Cause-"

"Yeah, I'm sure." Goku nodded. Skye looked away while saying, "Okay."

"So, after telling me of the coming of Piccolo Jr. and that we'd meet in a few years, Kami started to train me." Goku said. He then described his training, "He put me in a special room with some special clothes."

"How special?" Zuma asked. Goku then said, "Well, my wrist bands and sweat shirt had been made to where they were a little heavier for training purposes."

"Uh." Rubble said as he didn't follow. Goku then explained, "See, when you use weights in exercising it helps you to get stronger, so I trained myself for the next three years before the upcoming tournament."

"How many tournaments are involved in this story?" Ryder asked as he finished putting a new wheel on the bike. Goku looked to the boy and said, "Counting this next one, three. But it was the last one I was at."

"Okay, continue." Ryder said with a gesture of his hand. Goku then said, "So in this tournament, not only was it me, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, Piccolo and a mysterious woman who said that she knew me."

"Who was she?" Rubble asked. Goku then said, "Well, she was my first opponent during the tournament. But when I told her that I didn't recognize her she got upset with me and was really angry as we fought. I was able to beat her and she told me that she was someone from my past; her name is Chi-Chi and the daughter of the Ox-King. She was pretty upset that I never came back to ask for her hand in marriage. But I guess I kind of proposed during the tournament by saying that I would marry her."

"Awe!" The pups said. Ryder then said, "While it doesn't seem like the kind of place for it, it is still nice that you proposed to her."

"Yeah it was." Goku nodded as he remembered the day. He laughed as he said, "When I had first met her and on the day that we met up again, I had no clue as to what a marriage was."

"What happened next, Goku?" Zuma asked. Goku then told them, "Well, after Tien fought General Tao-"

"Wait, General Tao came back?" Chase asked. He looked to the other pups and said, "I thought he had been defeated as well?"

"He was, but then he came back as a cyborg." Goku said. They all just looked at him with quirked brows. Goku shrugged and then said, "Like I said, after defeating Tao in the tournament, me and Tien clashed again.

"It was an intense fight, but I ended up winning it. Krillin put up a good fight against Piccolo, but he ended up surrendering when he realized that Piccolo was a bit too much." Goku said. Ryder then said, "How strong was Piccolo during the tournament."

"In all honesty," Goku said, "I think he was a little stronger than his father."

"Whoa." Was all the pups and Ryder said about it. Goku then continued, "Yamcha lost to a guy named Hero. But it turned out to be Kami possessing a human's body."

"Why did he get involved?" Skye asked. Goku then said, "So he could try and destroy the evil half. But it didn't work when he tried to use a technique to try and seal Piccolo away. Piccolo ended up reversing it and sealed Kami away instead. And as an added measure, he swallowed the bottle too."

Again, the pups gasped in shock. Goku then said, "In order to save Kami, I had to be Piccolo in our battle."

"Couldn't you have just destroyed Piccolo like you had done his father?" Chase asked. Then he added, "Then you might have been able to rescue Kami at the same time."

"I could have, if there wasn't a small problem with destroying Piccolo." Goku said. Marshall then asked, "What was the problem?"

"You know how Skye asked if Kami and Piccolo were like brothers?" Goku asked them. They all nodded and he then said, "It's a little more complicated than that. You see, a long time ago before I was born or sent to Earth, Kami and King Piccolo were originally one being. But after a while, they separated and became the entities that would be Kami and Piccolo. And the problem was that by destroying Piccolo then…"

"Then Kami would have been destroyed too." Chase deduced. Goku then added, "And if Kami goes when Piccolo goes then so do the Dragon Balls."

"And that wouldn't be too good." Rubble said with a worried look. Goku shook his head as he agreed. But then he smiled and said, "But during the course of the fight, Piccolo had been able to grow himself into a giant. I tricked him into growing much bigger and when the time was right I dived down his throat."

They all gasped again while some made a grossed-out face. Goku then said, "I was able to get out and rescue Kami at the same time. With Kami freed, I was able to fight against Piccolo again without having to worry."

"Except about the part of destroying him." Chase guessed. Goku did nod with that logic and then said, "After a few more good swings at each other, Piccolo was able to turn the tables on me with a blast of energy. He tried to repeat what his father had done when I had fought against him, but this time he didn't take any chances and broke all my limbs."

Another gasp escaped from them and Goku then said, "And just when it seemed that not only would Piccolo exact his revenge for his father, I was able to move out of the way by flying."

"You can fly?" Skye asked with wide eyes and an open mouth. Goku then joked, "Close your mouth or you'll catch bugs. And yeah, I can fly. I might show you guys later." Then he said, "But back to the story. After flying out of the way, I was able to headbutt Piccolo out of the ring and not only stopping him, but also winning my first tournament."

The pups let out another howl of applause while Ryder gave a hand clap of his own. Goku then said, "And after a Senzu Bean from Yajirobe…"

"Yajiwobe was there?" Zuma asked in surprise. Goku nodded, "Yep. And it was a good thing that he was there. I would have been bedridden for a while if he hadn't shown up with a bean. Anyway, I acted quickly when Kami tried to end Piccolo's life."

"Why would he do that?" Ryder asked. Goku then said, "I think he was trying to end Piccolo's darkness, but I was able to stop him. Piccolo ended up retreating while vowing revenge on me."

"Typical." Chase said with a shake of his head. Goku then said, "Yeah, classic villain cliques, I agree on that much."

"So is this the end of your tale, Goku?" Marshall asked. Goku shook his head and said, "Not quite, Marshall. There's still a little to go through. And it's even more shocking than what I just told you."

Ryder and the pups listened closely as Goku got ready to tell the next part of his story. Goku then said, "It all started four years after the tournament and when I met my older brother."

Author's Note: I'm gonna end it here. I tried to remember most of the Dragon Ball story, but there might be a few missing pieces here and there. In the next chapter I'm gonna get into the Dragon Ball Z story up to the beginning of the Android Saga. And I'm thinking of maybe doing some origin stories for the Paw Patrol after finishing Goku's story. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
