Jack Frost has been around for a long time always alone. He didn't remember when this happened to him all he knew that it was now 1849 and he was just outside of Houston, Texas. He was bored and started frosting the windows of a farmhouse when a little blonde boy who was no more than five sat at his window. The boy looked directly at Jack and opened the window.

Jack's P.O.V.

I can't believe it I was just being used to going unseen for who knows how long the last hundred years at least then a five-year-old boy sees me but why did he look so sad. I walked in the room to look around my white shirt, brown vest and brown pants weren't crazy, but my hair was snow white and my eyes were Ice blue. "Can you see me?" I asked the boy, and he nodded his head. Thank the moon after one hundred years somebody can see me. A sad boy was better than nobody. "Do you know who I am?" I asked him again and to my surprise he nodded.

I jumped on his bed in excitement and his blonde hair kept looking at the window as if to expect someone other than then the sandman. He held up a book it was clearly written by a woman and there were a bunch of stories in it. Stories to explain everything the sun and moon she said they were forbidden lovers so to see each other in passing created the day and night only seeing each other while one leaves and the other arrives. There was a story in there about the seasons well four separate ones. One was about me well how I was a friendly spirit that meant no harm this was the page the boy showed me, and I smiled. I watched as the sandman sent him to sleep before leaving the room. He was so sad a perfect victim for the boggy man so I drew a dreamcatcher on the frosted window hoping it would keep him away for the night.

In the morning I watched as he got up and went to the barn to look after his horse and one much larger than he was. He was struggling to look after the larger horse, so I helped him. He thanked me silently so I would have missed it if I wasn't paying attention to him. He went along doing his chores, but the kid was only five and odds say that he usually didn't do them alone because he took extra care of the horse next to his. "Is someone coming to help you?" I asked him and he looked sad as if thinking of someone who isn't around anymore, but I just thought he had an older sibling who likes to sleep in. He then shook his head and went in to eat me following him. I leaned against the wall to watch his family eat and I noticed there was an empty chair right next to him.

His dad tried to move it and he freaked saying that she's coming home soon. His mom frowned at this, and I sat in the chair, and he freaked out more telling me to get out of her chair. I left the chair and went up to his room. I looked at the book again the boy was crying when he came back, I never heard him say anything like a name or that's about him always about her. Like she said she would be home soon or get out of her chair. So, who was this her?

I made it snow lightly outside this got the boy to smile. I spent as much time as I could with him. But I had to go unfortunately for at least six months so I told him that I would be back. He didn't say anything to me just looked at his window again. I left but I didn't want to.

When I returned six months later the boy was now six, but he looked seven. I found him in the barn talking to the horses the bigger one I found out was named Ginger and the boy named the smaller one Chocolate. To say that he cared about the two horses was an understatement he adored the two. Chocolate was a deep brown horse and was fast while Ginger wasn't out as often but was still well loved and her coat was a lighter brown almost golden color. The blonde boy was growing his hair out and it started to curl or wave depending on who you asked but I say it was those waved curls. He waved at me when he noticed I was there. "Whose horse is that?" I asked him and he started stuttering.

"Ginger is my sister's she's coming back she promised me." He finally managed and I found a picture of his sister with her horse on the door. I read what it said Isabelle gone to ride and tell stories in the sky. That explains so much about the way he was acting when I was here last year his sister just died, and his five-year-old mind couldn't cope. He still can't completely. So, he's spending as much time with her horse as he can and is reading the book, she wrote for him nightly. I watched this happen to a girl once who lost her brother about a hundred years ago. She would go to where it happened. She wasn't that much older than the boy in front of me so dealt with it the same way, but she didn't know that I existed this boy did some how. He eventually started crying again that was sad. It seems like his sister was a soft spot for him.

The boy wasn't an open person that's unfortunate but understandable I mean if I lost my sibling at a young age, I would be the same. But I didn't remember anything about before this. So, maybe I did and just didn't remember it. Anyway, as time went on, I watched as the continued to grow while speaking very little about himself or his sister. He never told me his name and he slowly came to terms with his sister being dead.

It was about when he was 14 when he had his window open for me like usual and he smiled. "Jack never really thanked you for helping me work through this without you being here when it would have been the worst for me." He told me and he had the book on a shelf and stopped spending as much time with Ginger who looked like she was about to pass on soon. He spent more time with his horse now and well Chocolate looked like he could fight a war.

"No problem kid…." I started

"Jasper, Jasper is my name. "He stated before he was called down to eat. I had a feeling that Jasper wasn't going to need me anymore and, in a few days, wouldn't be able to see me anymore then in a few years just say I was an imaginary friend to help him cope with a traumatic experience. I think I should see if he was ready to talk about what happened to Isabelle before I leave this time because this might be the last time, he can see me. When Jasper did come back up, he sighed.

"I'm not ready to talk about it, Jack I don't know if I ever will be. I'm sorry I know that you must be wonderin' what happened." He told me getting ready for bed. We sat and talked for awhile when he asked about me.

"Jack what was your life like before all this?" He asked me. I was hoping he wouldn't ask that since I couldn't remember. I also don't want to tell him that, but I have no choice. I sighed and sat on his bedpost.

"Sorry Jasper I can't remember my life before this if I even had one. Darkness that's the first thing I remember, it was dark, and it was cold, and I was scared. But then I saw the moon he seemed to drive the darkness away. The only thing he said was my name is Jack Frost. That was about one hundred years ago now. You were the first person to see me actually. But I'm not sure if after your fourteenth birthday you'll be able to see me anymore." I explained he nodded his head at me sadly when I was done. He yawned I didn't show up until he had all his chores done anyway. I let him rest and I just looked at the book his sister wrote him as he did.

We spent the next months talking well I did most of the talking. Before we said our goodbyes. "So long Jack, I hope you will find someone who can see you after I can." He said as I got ready to leave. It was just before his fourteenth birthday, and I can tell he was trying to see me. So, once I leave this time, he won't be able to see me even if I wanted him too.

"Bye Jasper be safe okay well try to." I told him as I flew off.

Jasper's P.O.V.:

As Jack pointed out we met when I was five years old. When he showed up, I was down I just witnessed my sister get killed and had no idea how to cope with it. So, I went into emotional shut down and would yell and stutter. I was scared and he brought some fun into my life when I most needed it. My sister told me that he was friendly just misunderstood. I'm not sure if I was a glass half empty of half full type after my sister's death but I was quiet it took him a while to get me to talk but I never talked about my sister.

He got me to mention her the following year, but I was still not completely okay. I actually didn't expect him to come back, but I was glad he did. He was probably a figment of my imagination though. He was with me from mid October to late March or early April depending on how he felt that year, but he always came mid October, so I always had my window open for him. My parents did question why I liked to have my window open when it was cooler out. I told them it helps me sleep better. When I got to around eleven. But before that I said it was so Jack could get in. They brushed him off as my imaginary friend and let me have the window open.

Over the nine years he helped me a lot, but I was sad to see him go this time because as he flew out my window, he seemed to disappear before my eyes. He will be back I think but I won't be able to see him anymore. My fourteen-year-old mind has come to accept what happened leading up to meeting Jack, but I don't think I'll forget my time with him or be able to talk about it or what happened to Belle she hated being called Isabelle.

Three years later I looked like I was nineteen instead of the seventeen-year-old I was. There was a war going on, so I signed up lying about my age. War wasn't a pretty thing to experience. The uniform wasn't comfortable and right now my only reminders of home were the book Belle wrote for me, my horse Chocolate, and a kit my ma sent me with. I didn't give Jack much thought in the last two years, but I always felt him watching me in December to February. The air also got colder when he was around, I didn't mind at all it was good to know that he was still watching me until I was at least seventeen. Jack looked like he was eighteen, but he said he couldn't remember how old he was.

Anyway, I made my way up through the ranks quickly and in just two years I was promoted to major. Effectively making me the youngest major in the Texas cavalry. They did think I was twenty-one at the time though when I was only nineteen. I wasn't going to correct them. When other people asked me how the cooler weather didn't bother me, I just shrugged and would show how my favorite trick. I would touch the frost on the ground or break the ice on a river and kept my hands in it for about a minute. "Are you originally from the north or something Major this isn't normal." I would be asked, and I would just laugh.

Jack wasn't around anymore, and I was okay with that. Well, I think Jack decided to move on while I was in Galveston evacuating women and children when I met Maria, Lucy, and Natalie. They were beautiful but both Chocolate and Jack must have sensed that something was off with the three of them because in less than a minute Chocolate was trying to turn around and a cold wind was blowing snowflakes in my face. I ignored Jack and got off Chocolate and boy do I wish I listened to them now. Because when I got to them, I found out that they were talkin' about who should kill me. I told Maria my name when she asked for it and she told me that she hoped I survived and that I could be of great use to her. The next thing I felt was pain and Jack was visible again saying he tried to warn me. He left me alone with Maria and the other two to find himself.

Maria took away my human life to fight in a different war and I was extremely irritable which made others the same way. Needless to say, this thrilled Maria, so she made sure I was looked after in return I just had to keep the others in her army under control unless we were in a fight. Jack didn't visit me, and I started getting depressed again.

I was there for about 40 years before I met Peter, he reminded me of Jack. I knew that I couldn't let him die so as soon as I could I made Peter my second in command. Maria didn't like that but right now I don't care. Peter was one of the people I turned he was a drunk, but he was an optimist and was fun to have around so I'm keeping him. Peter and I were out hunting when Jack came back, I didn't notice him, but Peter did.

"Major who's the guy with the White hair who is watching us?" He asked me and I jumped on Jack. Peter wisely kept his mouth shut and didn't try to help him. I was mad he left me in her clutches for forty years and didn't visit me. So yes, I pinned my oldest friend to the ground. Because I believed that he was imaginary but no he was real and left me alone. I just let him up and ran for about a minute before wanting to go back to them and cussing Jack out.

I ran back only to slip on some ice. Jack was laughing at me for that. "Glad this amused you Frosty the snow man." I growled as I got up. Peter was really confused about why I'm fighting with a teenager. Jack's clothes didn't change at all it was the same brown vest and pants with white long sleeved shirt underneath it. But the next thing I know I was trying to hit him while cussing at him. Jack just floated out of my reach. "Come down and fight me you fudging snowflake." I told him yes there was another word in there, but it wasn't a nice one and it was a curse one let's just say I didn't say fudging since I was busy cussing him out, but we're only allowed to say that word once since this story is aimed at teens. So, I could say other things but for now let's say my language would have made both my ma and sister faint.

"Jasper old friend chill out." Jack told me and he froze my feet. Jack landed as I broke the ice and I jumped him again. Peter watched us as we fought like old friends even if I said he had no reason to say that he shouldn't be calling me that.

"Forty years Jack. You left me alone and show up now I don't know who I anymore. One thing's for sure I'm not the innocent kid you met all those years ago. Was your trip of self discovery worth it because I'm not human anymore. I'm trapped in a war where I could get killed at any time. I've been killing people innocent people. Have I left anything out Captain?" I asked Peter who was standing there he just nodded his head. Then I started ranting again

"Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack forgot to check if the ice was thick." I said projecting my anger on to him and I found my lower legs frozen. Peter stepped in as soon as I freed my self ready to fight him some more.

"Neutral corners boys now. Major you aren't a teen anymore and I doubt ice boy here is the age he appears either. So, major we need to talk about this like grown ups and hug it out before Maria comes looking. And I don't think it would be smart for your buddy to follow us back." Peter said pushing me closer to Jack who I haven't hugged since I was like ten years old. But I did what I was told and hugged it out. Peter and I then went back to Maria. Maria noticed that my body temperature was colder than normal, and I just shrugged it off so did Peter, we couldn't let her get her hands on Jack. That would be a bad thing and we both knew it. So, we will always brush it off as cold water.

Jack stayed near by as much as I didn't want him to. It was dangerous for him to be near us but he, but he didn't want to go north. I told Peter once I get him out of here, he is to grab Jack and go North. It was years later when Charlotte entered our lives. She took to Peter instantly and I eventually warmed up to her. It was a shame when Maria wanted me to kill Charlotte. I nodded my head to Peter. We pretend to fight for a while then he grabbed Charlotte and ran. Maria was mad at me for letting Peter escape with Charlotte, but I was glad she wouldn't find out about Jack now.

I was with Maria six years after that. I knew she was getting ready to kill me but that was when Jack came in with Peter and Charlotte. Jack was freezing things and Peter and Charlotte were trying to get me away from the mess. "let's go Jasper, Frost is behind us. Life is better up north." Charlotte said as she started running and I started following her. We ended up in Montana. Peter and Charlotte got a place, and you could tell that Jack spent most of his time here because of the light frost trail in the back from him going in and out if the house they had a pond that was slightly frozen as well.

The years blended together but, in the sixties, Jack wanted to go to Alaska, and I heard of some vampires who fed on animals who lived there. So, the two of us left Peter and Charlotte headed to Alaska together. We didn't talk the whole way in fact he stayed out of my reach again. He does this whenever we're alone since things between us have been tense since the day I attacked him. So, I jumped on a deer on the way the stuff tasted gross, but it felt good not feeling the emotions of the person I killed. Sometimes being an empath sucks like when I need to feed.

"Jack, may I ask why you want to go to Alaska?" I asked him and he rubbed his neck and perched on his staff. Our clothes didn't change much over the years, but we did dye Jack's hair as soon as hair dye came out and we also got our hands on colored contact lenses for him two we got him black ones, but his hair was brown. He didn't like having to hide his blue eyes and white hair, but we didn't know if he was seen by all vampires, or he could pick and choose.

When we got close to where we were going Jack started walking. We will have to redye his hair he also told me that he was hoping that a doctor in the area could help him find out who he was. I was surprised to hear that he still didn't remember who he was. It's been one hundred years since we met already, and he told me that he was alone for a hundred before that. Two hundred years with no clue of who you are must be hard. Peter, Charlotte, and I all tried to help him figure out who he was. When we were close to where the other vampires were we were met by a teen younger than Jack and me. He couldn't see Jack just me. The child had bronze hair and oh boy he had an attitude. He thought he was a gift just because he could read minds, but his mind was not open to the possibility of there being other things other than vampires out there.

I kept my mouth shut on that though and he led us to the others. Two more teens closer to my age, a woman and man. The teens were a boy and a girl the boy could see Jack and ran over to introduce himself. The boy had muscle but looked like he loved to have fun just as much as Jack. The man was able to see Jack as well actually they all could except the boy who thought he was a gift. This made me laugh out loud. The muscled teen seemed to hit it off with Jack right away the other teen seemed hesitant to talk to us and the bronze haired self centered one thought at least two of us were crazy. I watched as Jack went over to the man to ask for help.

Even the man older than both of us couldn't help my friend. The man introduced himself as Carlisle, the woman as Esme, the bronze haired boy as Edward, the blonde girl as Rosalie, and the muscles as Emmett. I introduced myself and Jack as Jack took out his Contacts and washed his hair out. Esme god bless her noticed that Jack's shirt was wearing thin and offered him new clothes. Jack was speechless when Esme handed him a blue sweater and brown pants with leather straps on them. He got changed quickly Esme also gave him a white shirt to wear underneath. I caught Emmett stairs at my friend and just laughed as Edward got mad at the fact that everyone but him could see Jack. This is going to be fun.
