Chapter Seventeen: Goku Meets the Mighty Pups

Foes all around well now we'll go fearless and free
A group of people were flying high over the clouds. The Saiyan in the orange Gi, Son Goku, his son in the purple Gi, Son Gohan flew alongside the Namekian in a similar Gi as Son Gohan, Piccolo. They were on their way to meet up with a friend who said she had something to show them.
Vic Mignogna: I'll give you strength and you'll give me love that's how it we'll live (that's how we'll live)
Your courage won't fade, if you're with me my enemies will never win
After a freak accident, Goku wakes up to find himself somewhere entirely new. Soon he is met by a bewildering sight, a boy accompanied by dogs who can talk.
Vic Mignogna: We will fight for love and glory, we will live to tell a story
There is nothing we can live through, nothing ever dies, we will rise again!
Goku, Ryder and the Pups all take the time to get to know each other. From having fun like telling stories to responding to emergencies. Goku helps the Pups by catching a falling Alex when he fell out of a tree.
Vic Mignogna: Don't stop, Don't stop were in luck now!
Don't stop, there's no fun to be found
Goku, Ryder and the Pups all stood outside the Lookout and saw that a new kind of trouble was brewing. A large shadowy figure stood ominously over Adventure Bay. But the nine looked to each other with grins before charging into action.
Vic Mignogna: We can't find paradise
All we have to do is go! Go! Free your soul!
Standing in a circle, the pups all unleashed their auras from their Mighty powers. In the center of the circle, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. Then all eight of them unleashed pillars of their power into the sky.
Vic Mignogna: Dragon Soul!
Soon, Goku, Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rocky, Everest, Rubble, Zuma and Ryder all stood together and posed for a picture with smiles on their faces.

The four of the Legion of Doom made into Adventure Bay with ease. Before parting ways, the Copycat beckoned the Skye look-a-like kitten to follow after him. They maneuvered their tornados towards the bay while Harold and the Ladybird made their way towards the Pups tower.

Harold and the Ladybird landed on a roof not too far from the Pups' Lookout and kept their heads down and remained out of sight. They waited for the right moment to make their move.

The Copycat and the Skye look-a-like kitten landed on the beach not too far from the docks and looked about for something to use. The bigger feline's eyes fell on the Flounder as Cap'n Turbot returned to his boat. The captain seemed rather happy as he said, "Now that I got my lighthouse keys back, I think it's time that I had a nap."
He walked onto the deck before going inside. That's when Copycat and his assistant made their move. Forming their tornadoes again, they flew over to the flounder and the Copycat created a tornado under the Flounder and lifted it into the air. Looking to the smaller cat he said, "We had better make this fast, little kitten.
"We need to take this somewhere pretty far." He added before they flew out to sea. The Skye look-a-like kitten quickly followed after him.

Inside the Flounder, Cap'n Turbot had been laying peacefully in a hammock when he felt his boat rocking a lot. Sitting up in the hammock he asked, "What in the weird wide world is going on here?"
Getting out of the hammock, he walked over to the door and was about to open it when the boat jostled a little and he fell off his feet. Cap'n Turbot yelped in pain when he landed on his rear.

The Copycat and the Skye look-a-like kitten came upon the island with a volcano at its center. Deciding that this would be far enough, the Copycat lowered the boat until it sat on the edge of the crater. The door burst open and Cap'n Turbot came running out to the side of the ship. He gasped when he saw where he was. The cackling of the Copycat made him look up to see both him and the Skye look-a-like kitten in the air. The Copycat then mocked, "Sure hope that you're enjoying the view."
The kitten giggled along with him. The Copycat looked to her and said, "Now to make our way back to Adventure Bay! And to take their precious meteor!"
"Oh dear." Cap'n Turbot said with a great worry as the two cats flew away from the island. Pulling out his phone he said, "I better let Ryder and the Pups know."
He pushed the button to make the call.

Back at the Lookout, Ryder was still keeping a look out on the monitor for anything suspicious. Every now and then he would switch it up by going over to the periscope to look what was out there. Deciding to take a small break, Ryder walked out onto the balcony to check on Goku and the Pups. He looked down to see that they were indeed keeping an eye out as well. It was then that his phone went off.
Taking it out of his pocket, Ryder saw that it was Cap'n Turbot and pushed the button to answer it. When the captain's face appeared on the screen, Ryder asked, "What's going on, Cap'n Turbot?"
"I'm actually calling because I'm in a precarious predicament." Cap'n Turbot told him. The captain moved his phone to show the problem. Ryder gasped when he saw that Cap'n Turbot's boat was teetering on the edge of volcano. He was greatly surprised when Cap'n Turbot added, "And that's only half of it. The Copycat's back again.
"And apparently not alone. He had one of Mayor Humdinger's kittens with him." This shocked Ryder more and more. The boy shook his head, "But how? Mayor Humdinger's kittens shouldn't be able to have super powers without the meteor."
"I'm just as confused as you are." Cap'n Turbot agreed with him. He quickly added, "And one more thing. I heard from the mouth of the finnicky feline that the Copycat is going to try to steal your Mighty Meteor."
"Then this is a dilemma." Ryder said, wondering what the Copycat's plan was. Looking to the captain of the Flounder he said, "Don't worry, Cap'n Turbot. We're on our way. No job is too big, no pup is too small."
The captain's call went out and Ryder extended his Pup Pad. He was about to push the buttons to immediately get the Lookout ready to transform when a thought quickly came to him. Ryder swiped through the phone before coming onto a certain facial icon. He pushed it to make a quick call. He waited a moment for the call to go through. When he saw the face appear, Ryder said, "Hey, I need a favor."
…
Across the bridge to the Lookout, Harold and the Ladybird remained on the watch for when Ryder, the Pups and the one called Goku left. But the tower hadn't transformed nor has anyone flown away yet. The Ladybird groaned, "Uh! What is taking so long?!"
"I know, Copycat should have had his part done and that foolish captain should have called them by now." Harold complained and crossed his arms and turned away from the tower. Harold then questioned, "And if Ryder has gotten word, why hasn't he taken action yet?"
"Well, I hope they do something soon." The Ladybird commented with a huff. But making sure to stay o task, they turned their gaze back to the Lookout.
…
Outside of the Lookout, Goku and the Pups fanned out to keep a lookout. Goku's eyes turned towards town when he could feel a couple of energies in town. He said to the Pups, "I can feel some big energies in town."
"Can you tell who they are?" Skye asked when joined them. Goku shook his head, "I thought they felt familiar, but they feel a little off."
"I'm surprised that you didn't sense Copycat when he made his move." Rocky cut in. Goku was in agreement when he said, "I know. It was close by and I don't think that I was distracted."
"Well, it's a good thing that I called for some backup." Ryder said from behind. Everyone turned to see the boy walking out of the Lookout. They joined him and Rubble asked, "What do you mean backup, Ryder?"
"I called in Everest so she could help us." Ryder told them. This confused Goku and the Pups as Marshall asked, "Why exactly?"
"Since the Copycat basically can do all of your powers…" Ryder started to explain, "I thought it be best if we gave him a bit of a surprise seeing as he's never really faced Everest before."
"Plus, with Goku, it might make it a little more difficult." Chase thought up. Zuma then asked him, "So, is she on hew way wight now?"
"She's about to leave right now." Ryder nodded. Goku then offered, "I can quickly go and get her if that would help."
"That might actually be better." Marshall agreed, thinking that it would save some time. Goku placed his fingers to his forehead before disappearing with Instant Transmission. Chase looked to Skye and said, "Sometimes that still freaks me out just a little."
Skye only giggled from that. A moment later, Goku reappeared with Everest holding on to his leg next to the Lookout doors. All six of the other Pups said in unison, "Everest!"
"Jake's already gone ahead and informed me of the situation." Everest said, not needing any explanation. The boy and the Pups ran up to join them. Ryder then said, "Then it's time for some Mighty Pup action."
He pressed a button on his Pup Pad and then looked to the Pups, "All right, everyone, let's get ready."
"Right, Ryder." All seven Pups nodded before taking off for the Lookout. Goku looked to Ryder and asked, "What about me?"
"I'm not sure what'll happen if you were to step into the elevator." Ryder said as he had no idea if the meteor would grant the Saiyan its powers. But then he said, "Maybe it's best if you wait out here for a moment. We'll let you know when it's okay."
"Okay then." Goku nodded as he understood. Ryder then ran after the Pups to get himself ready. Goku was willing to wait, but he suddenly felt something from the tower almost call to him. He looked up to the symbol of the Paw Patrol and could feel a sort of energy emanating from it. He took a step into the Lookout but wasn't exactly watching where he was going. Goku accidentally stepped on one of the dog toys and ended up tripping. All the Pups saw him coming and said, "Goku, watch out!"
They were able to jump out of the way when Goku crashed into the elevator wall. All seven winced from how painful it looked while Goku slid down the glass a little. Chase asked him, "Goku, what are you doing?"
"I don't exactly know." Goku said when he got back up and rubbed his sore face. Then he said while rubbing his nose, "I could feel the energy coming from inside the Lookout and I guess I wasn't really paying attention."
But before he could try to step back out, the elevator doors closed on them. Everest then asked, "I know what usually happens when a human would get powers, but what about a Saiyan?"
"I have no idea." Rubble said when the elevator started going up.
MIGHTY PUPS!
From the compartment that housed the meteor, the machinery that was attached to the space rock started drawing power from it. From the power of the meteor, not only was the Pups once again granted powers, but the Lookout started changing as well. The entire inside of the Lookout was enveloped in a bright orange light. Then as the sides of the tower started to separate from the top, the beam and the logo, a bottom piece rose up before attaching to the bottom of the Lookout. The windows became enveloped in metal plating while different tower sidings took the place of the previous ones. When they were attached to the bottom of the Lookout, the plating disappeared and a blue surface was revealed. A portion of the top slid and the telescope flipped around while the dome opened up. The telescope then slid back while a number of shapes moved through the orange pillar of light. From one of the new sides of the Mighty Tower, a panel lowered before a satellite rose up. Over on the lawn beside the tower, a compartment opened up and a red and white jet was raised up.
On top of the Mighty Tower, seven icons flashed and the Pups were raised up. Chase, who wore a dark blue suit with a yellow lightning stripe running down the face, yellow sleeves. Chase had dark blue Pup Pack on his back. Marshall wore a red suit with flames over his chest and on the edge of the sleeves of his forepaws, a red mask with flames over his eyes. On Marshall's back was a red Pup Pack. Skye was wearing a pink suit and a pink mask with lighter pink trimmings over her brow. On the Cockapoo's back was a light pink Pup Pack. Rocky wore a green suit with orange and blue parts while wearing a green and blue mask over his eyes. And on the Mixed Breed's back he wore a green Pup Pack. Rubble wore a yellow suit with black sleeves over all four legs and a more futuristic construction helmet over his head. On the Bulldog's back was a yellow construction Pup Pack. Zuma was wearing an orange suit with blue trimmings and an orange helmet with a fan on it. On the Chocolate Lab's back was an orange and blue Pup Pack. Finally, Everest had on dark blue, light aquamarine suit and a teal mask with a silver border. On the Husky's back was a teal Pup Pack.
They raced up onto the upper deck and stood before the console. They all stood at attention when Chase said, "Mighty Pups are ready for action, Ryder sir!"
"Thanks for hurrying, Pups." Ryder said when joined the Pups on platform. Rubble looked about and started to say, "Wait, where's…"
(Cue New Gear track from Paw Patrol: The Movie)
The Pup was cut off when suddenly from an orange light came from behind. Everyone turned around to see the center of the elevator portion of the Mighty Tower start to open up. They all gasped from what they were seeing. Rising up from the tower was Goku, but now he was in a new set of clothes. It looked to be a flowing red vest with a long backside tail over a black form-fitting short-sleeved shirt and black pants. On his feet were black Kung Fu shoes and stockings. On his arms were blue armbands. Around his waist was a blue obi.
(End of track)
When the elevator stopped and the light around him faded, Goku looked at what he was wearing. Ryder and the Pups were amazed when they all went, "Woah!"
"Are you okay, Goku?" Ryder asked the Saiyan. Goku looked to him and nodded, "Yeah, I feel fine."
"You think that the meteow gave you any powews?" Zuma asked him. This kind of confused Goku and he asked, "How would I know how to do that?"
"Kind of like this." Chase said and his paws suddenly glowed blue. Then he suddenly started zipping around on the tower before coming back to stand with the others. Ryder then suggested, "Try holding out your hands and concentrate."
"Uh, okay." Goku said and lifted both of his hands. He closed his eyes and focused on his hands while the others kept watch. His hands didn't seem to glow, but an orb of Ki suddenly appeared. Ryder and the Pups all shook their heads and Skye said, "I don't think he got any powers from the meteor."
"Nope." Rocky shook his head. But he thought the new clothes were awesome when he said, "All he ended up getting was some sick new clothes."
"They don't feel sick to me." Goku said, earning a few light, deadpanned looks from the others. Ryder then asked the Saiyan of an alternate Earth, "But Goku, why did you get in the elevator? I said that it would be fine if you hadn't."
"I don't really know." Goku shrugged and shook his head. He stepped up onto higher platform and said, "I just felt like the meteor was calling to me or something."
"Well, we'll come back to that later." Ryder said, getting back on track. He looked to the Pups and Goku to say, "Alright, so here's what we know.
"The Copycat is back. And it seems he's not working alone this time." Ryder informed the group. He brought up the screen and it showed Cap'n Turbot's boat teetering on the edge of the volcano and said, "And he's already making a big move by placing Cap'n Turbot and his boat on the edge of a volcano."
Everyone gasped from this reveal. Chase then asked, "What's the plan, Ryder?"
"We're going to be dividing our forces for this one." Ryder said to them. Gesturing to himself, Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble and Zuma he said, "The seven of us are going to go and help Cap'n Turbot. I've called in Everest to help Goku watch over the tower."
"Why exactly?" Chase asked, not that he didn't think it was a good idea, but he was just confused. Ryder explained, "Because when Cap'n Turbot called me, he said that the Copycat was coming for the meteor."
"And having someone to watch over the tower, it limits the Copycat's chances of getting the meteor." Rocky deduced the rest of the plan. Ryder nodded that the Mixed-Breed was correct in his assumption. The boy said, "All right, Pups. Let's head out."
All six Pups leaving howled before they rushed back down to the main part of the tower. Each one jumped down onto a slide of energy. When they passed through the energy line, they would become attached by a harness of sorts before going down to their vehicles. When they disappeared into the garage that had their special vehicles that was powered by their superpowers, they came out in hovercars that were colored like their powers and costumes. From on the tower, Ryder looked to Goku and Everest, "We'll try to be back in time in case anything should happen."
"Don't worry, Ryder. We'll hold down the fort." Everest nodded. Ryder gave them a thumbs up before reigniting his jetpack. He flew after the Pups before they headed away from Adventure Bay. Goku and Everest watched them go before the former picked up the latter and jumped off the side of the Mighty Tower.
They reached the bottom and Goku asked, "So, we just have to keep an eye out for this Copycat guy, right?"
"For the most part." Everest nodded, keeping to the mission as she took a few steps away from the Saiyan. She looked to him and said, "I've never really faced him before. The only villain that I've faced against was Harold when we first got our powers."
"Know anything about the other bad guys with powers?" Goku asked her. Everest shook her head, "Only from what Marshall and the others told me.
"Ladybird is dressed kind of like a bird and has super strength and flight." She remembered what she was told. Then she said, "The Kit-astrophe Crew have the same powers as the respective Pups they look like. Mayor Humdinger became like a giant purple man that had an obsession with cats."
"Any others?" Goku asked her. Everest shook her head, "The only others that I've been made aware of are the Mighty Twins, Ella and Tuck. Ella has the power to grow while her brother Tuck's powers make him shrink."
"I'm surprised that Ryder hadn't let them know of the situation." Goku said as he looked in the direction of the town.

From their spot in town, the Ladybird and Harold watched as the Mighty Pups and Ryder finally left their tower. They looked to each other and Harold said, "Looks like we're in the clear to nab that meteor."
"Then let's get going." The Ladybird said before taking off for the Lookout. Harold activated his jetpack and took off after his fellow villain.

Out over the ocean, Ryder and the Mighty Pups were flying in the direction of the island and could see it in the distance. From above, the Copycat and the Skye look-a-like kitten were watching from the cover of some clouds. The bigger feline smirked when he said, "Excellent. The plan is working purr-fectly." Looking to the kitten he ordered, "Keep an eye on them.
"Should they start to return, come and notify us immediately." He added before zipping back towards Adventure Bay. The kitten just watched him go before following after the Pups as they continued to make their way to the island.

Narrator: The Mighty Pups have leapt into action and have formed a game plan. With the majority heading to the island to rescue the endangered Cap'n Turbot, Goku and Everest remain behind to try and deter the villains from the meteor. The battle begins on the next Pups Help a Saiyan!

Author's Note: I really will get into the battle in the next chapter. It'll start with two-on-two fighters before escalating the fight further. And yes, I did use the original Mighty Pups outfits for the group. I loved them and wished that they hadn't outright tossed them aside like a rotten potato. Also, yes, I did have Goku be granted his Xeno outfit. I look forward to reading your reviews.
