"What are you still doing here?" Poseidon asked the women standing beside him as he reeled in another fish. "Thought you would have left to your mansion in Europe a few days ago."

"This area seems to be the best place to put my vacation home," Rita states as she hands Poseidon a newspaper. "I am simply ironing out the details regarding the property I purchased."

"The Montauk Murderer Strikes Again huh? Man, these names are getting worse and worse every year. So I guess I'll be seeing you more often?"

"Well I would hope so, you are quite the interesting man."

"You make me blush. Better save some of those compliments for the first date," The sea god says with a cheeky grin. She's hiding something

Rita rolls her eyes. "In your dreams."

"Y'know I was joking about you being rich as hell," Poseidon states in a deadpan voice. Poseidon and Rita were sitting next to one another near the coast. Poseidon was gazing at the sunset, while Rita was busy with a book at the moment. "Building what amounts to a mansion as a vacation home must've cost a lot."

"A mere dip in my overall funds, nothing to worry about" Rita states without looking up from her text. "It was merely a pleasure expense"

"Geez, I thought daddy must've bought it for his little girl."

"As much as my father loves me, he expects me to fund my projects."

"Sounds like you're close to him."

"It's only been my sisters, father, and I for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't be here talking to you if it weren't for him."

"No mom?"

"She… she died in childbirth when I was young, I barely remember her." Rita looked up and seemed to be lost in thought, and the pair stayed in comfortable silence for a few moments. "How about you?"

"Hmm?"

"Your parents, how were they?"

Poseidon remains silent for a while, contemplating if he even should talk about this with Sally. He's been trying to not reveal him being a god because Sally still hasn't clued him in on who or what she is. But she opened up to him, so it's only fair that he tells his story, heavily edited of course.

"Dad was an ass. Never wanted children, thought we would replace him once we got older. Kept some of us, including me, sheltered for the entirety of our early life. Our youngest brother was kept away from Dad by Mom, and he was raised entirely by her. Once he was old enough, got the rest of us away from dad and usurped him."

"Do you still hate him?"

"I hated him back then, and I still hate him now. Mom on the other hand is a bit more complicated."

"How so?"

"Remember, I spent most of my childhood with dead old Dad, while Mom was busy raising Zeus. I never had those moments of feeling a mother's love as a baby. When I met her for the first time, I was a grown adult, and I was pissed that she would just leave us with Dad, I was going to call her out for leaving us behind, but…"

"But?"

Poseidon stared off into the sea, his eyes showing a sense of sadness. "When she saw us, she hugged us and cried, and cried, and cried. She started apologizing to us, for leaving us with Dad, for marrying Dad in the first place, for being a terrible mother, and we hugged back and assured her the opposite. Instead of seeing someone as bad as, if not worse than, Dad, I saw someone who seemed to genuinely care about us, and my anger just dissipated."

"How about now?"

"Our relationship is better, and I love her as my mother."

The two immortals then remained silent, looking over the waves as they crashed onto the shoreline, comfortable in the other's presence. After a minute or two, the silence was broken.

"Y'know you never denied being daddy's little girl" Poseidon stated with a cheeky grin.

Rita's normally pale skin colored red with embarrassment and turned her head away from him to hide her noticeable blush. "Sh-Shut up okay"

Poseidon chuckled loudly, and while she was still blushing, Rita narrowed her eyes. He's still hiding something. Why does his name sound so familiar as well?

The full moon shined in the midnight sky, illuminating the grounds. Rita was staring outside the window of her home trying to piece together the puzzle that was Poseidon. A golden trident, immunity to my mystic eyes, and a love for the sea. She closed her eyes and thought back on their conversations. Has a poor relationship with his father, and has a little brother named Zeus. Zeus. Zeus and Poseidon. Could it be? Her eyes widened for a moment before shaking her head. Impossible the age of gods ended many millennia ago, no there must be a different option. He couldn't possibly be-

Suddenly her train of thoughts was derailed by a painful feeling that flowed through her body. Immediately she leaned on the closest wall. For a moment the disguise of Sally Jackson showed traits of a beautiful white-haired woman, before shifting back towards the brunette disguise.

How long has it been since I've fed? Have I been focusing too much on some man to forget my health? Hmm… maybe a quick break to hunt down some scum to tithe my hunge.

Rita opened the window and hopped out, and the Rose Princess was on the hunt. What she didn't expect was how a simple hunt changed everything.

The pale moon shined on the blood filled alleyway. On the ground was a carcass that once resembled a human and standing above it was Rita. Her hands and mouth were covered in blood and her eyes showed that she reveled in her feast, until she heard someone shout.

"S-Sally? Is that you?" Poseidon gazed on in confusion and horror. What is she?

"P-Poseidon? What are you doing here?" Rita exclaimed. Feelings of surprise and4 dread began to flood her mind. The curtain between two worlds had just lifted, and the threads of fate drastically changed.
