Chapter Six

The Choices We Make

"You actually did it?!"

"Yes we did princess!" Finn replied happily. Finn and Jake were back in the Candy Castle throne room, where Bubblegum was talking with some of her subjects; an old but proud looking candy corn man with medals decorating his chest, Peppermint Butler, the root beer guy from before, and a tall chocolate ice cream cone lady wearing a lab coat and a stethoscope. When Finn told them all the news the disbelief and bewilderment on their faces was in surplus.

Jake gave Finn a slap on the back. "Hey man what's with the "we' junk? That was all you Finn, don't give me credit when it ain't due."

Finn gave a modest smile, "Hey come on Jake, you being there for me was enough moral support to get me to-"

Before he could finish, Bubblegum rushed up and embraced Finn. She clung so tightly to the now red-faced Human that he was afraid he might pop. "Thank you Finn! Thank you thank you thank you!" she told Finn, joy overflowing in her voice.

"N-no problem PB." Finn stuttered.

"We're not out of the woods just yet." the candy corn man reminded them. "The Princess Parley still needs to go off without a hitch. You've done us proud so far soldier, but we're still counting on you to make sure it goes down as smooth as cider."

Princess Bubblegum released Finn. "Colonel Candy Corn is right. Finn, are you confident in your ability to partake in the role of Peace Overseer?"

"I haven't given you any reason not to trust me so far have I?"

"No, no you have not." PB began pacing back and forth, her hand to her chin in thought. "Still though, I better get the forces ready anyway, glob knows Flame Princess will come with hers." The princess faced her subjects, "Colonel Candy Corn, assemble the troops. Have them ready immediately."

Colonel Candy Corn saluted, "Yes ma'am!" he said before hurrying off.

"Root Beer Guy, get the Banana Guards ready and on high alert. As the Princess Parley is being conducted I want the entire Kingdom under lock down, every gate closed, every citizen inside the castle, understood?"

Root Beer Guy saluted as well, "Understood princess!" he responded before running off.

"Dr. Ice Cream, grab Nurse Pound Cake and get the infirmary and staff ready to go at a moment's notice."

The doctor nodded, "Yes your highness!" she said before hurrying away.

"Peppermint Butler, contact the Fire Kingdom and discuss the time and place for the Parley."

"Right away your majesty!" the mint replied before quickly leaving.

Bubblegum turned to Finn. "And as for you Finn, come with me. There is much to discuss about your role as the Peace Overseer and we should probably do some rehearsing as well."

Finn gave a thumbs up. "Sounds good."

Many hours later, Princess Bubblegum, Finn, Jake, Peppermint Butler, Colonel Candy Corn and an army of banana guards were standing in the field outside of the Candy Kingdom. Close enough to the kingdom for the cannons to give them some support if the worst were to occur but not so close for an immediate retreat. The princess had outfitted Finn with a white cloak adorned with flowers, the garment of the Peace Overseer as PB called it. Finn felt like some religious nutcase wearing the thing but if it meant stopping a war then Finn was prepared to put on lipstick and eyeliner too if need be. Still though, seeing Bubblegum in her dark pink armor and candycane striped cape made Finn feel even more stupid. 'A helmet or something would have been cool instead of a freaking flower circlet- I look like a damn virgin sacrifice!... which, if push comes to shove, may not be all that inaccurate given my current predicament.' Princess Bubblegum and Finn stood at the front of the group, a small, fancy golden table had been placed in front of the two of them, on the table sat a light pink royal pillow and a red-orange pillow side by side.

Finn looked to Princess Bubblegum, she had a stern look on her face with trace amounts of fear. "Everything's going to be fine princess, you'll see." Finn attempted to comfort her.

Bubblegum glanced at Finn. "I hope you're right Finn, for all our sakes." she gave Finn the smallest of smiles. "You look nice by the way."

Finn smiled, then he turned his head and saw the Fire Kingdom's army heading towards them. His smile faded away as fear took hold of him. 'Keep it together Finn, you can do this, just like we practiced.' When everyone else saw the army the atmosphere suddenly got way more tense, some of the banana guards looked like they were about to cut and run. Finn really couldn't blame them though, it looked like a wildfire was heading their way. An army of fire golems, each armed with a fiery weapon in their hands, made their way towards an army of bananas, an old candy corn guy, a dog, a peppermint, a gum girl, and a guy dressed like a priest of the goddess of love and harmony. Leading the fire army was Flame Princess, flanked by Cinnamon Bun and her brother Flint. The three of them rode in front of the army on large fire wolves, when they arrived Flame Princess dismounted and walked up to the gold table. She wore the same armor as before, as well as the same angry look as before. She stared at Bubblegum as if wondering how much heat it would take to melt her down to a puddle of goo.

"Hello Bubblegum." she greeted flatly.

PB put on a smile and gave a nod of her head. "Hello Flame Princess, thank you for agreeing to the Princess Parley."

FP jerked her head towards Finn. "You have him to thank for that, otherwise your kingdom would already be ash and you would already be dead."

Bubblegum and Finn just stood there for a few heartbeats, then Bubblegum took her place at the opposite side of the table and Finn took his place at the adjacent side. Finn raised his hands, each palm pointed towards a princess, and began the Parley speech. "I, Finnegan Campbell of Founder's Island, have been chosen by the reigning princesses of the feuding kingdoms to partake as the Peace Overseer of this Princess Parley." He spoke loud enough so everyone could hear him. "The Fire Kingdom, ruled by Phoebe the Flame Princess, has-"

"Boo, you stink!" Flint shouted.

"Has agreed to partake in the Princess Parley-"

"Boooooo!"

"With the Candy Kingdom-"

"Hey you! Yeah you! Ugly Human! Mess up!"

"Ruled by Princess Bonnibel-"

"Ooga booga booga blahhhh!"

"... Bubblegum. Princesses, please place-"

"The dog said you were a virgin! LOSER!"

Flame Princess turned around and fired a white hot blast of fire in front of Flint's fire wolf, the wolf reared back and flung Flint onto the ground with a painful thud. CB ignored Flint's moans of agony and remained on his wolf, looking a bit relieved. The princess turned back around. "Go ahead Finn."

Finn nodded in thanks, then resumed the ritual. "Princesses, please place your crowns on the table."

Princess Bubblegum took off her gold crown and laid it on the pink pillow, Flame Princess didn't grab her crown, but instead she took off the red diamond on her forehead and placed it on the red pillow. Once they were done, Finn continued. "Princess Phoebe of the Flame Kingdom, please make your demands known."

"I shall ask for what I expect from you Princess Bubblegum: very little." respond FP. "First, I want whatever agents or equipment you have spying on me either gone or disabled. I know you're spying on me, how else could you have known about the Fire Giants? You will cease spying on not only me, but everyone else you're spying on. It all stops now, understand?"

Princess Bubblegum looked like she was ready to argue, but she swallowed her pride and nodded her head. "Done."

"Good. As for my second demand," Flame Princess' eyes narrowed. "You will no longer interfere with the Ice King's duty as the Warden of the Lich, you will mind your own business and let him do his job- which he has been doing quite well for five years now."

This time Bubblegum did argue. "You can't be serious! You want me to just stand by while that lunatic keeps Ooo's destruction in his basement! Someone needs to make sure that-"

"I am not giving you a choice Bubblegum." Flame Princess stated coldly. "When the Lich broke out of his prison, it was because of your failure to keep him 'properly contained'." her eyes burned with white hot fire. "You had your chance, now the wizards have taken the burden off your shoulders. I know how much you don't trust magic but frankly, I don't care. Now agree to the terms, or I burn down your kingdom."

Bubblegum stared down Flame Princess for a long time, Finn was afraid she would tell FP to piss off and start the war. "Very well, I agree to your terms." She finally relented, but she did not sound happy about it though. "Anything else?"

"Yeah, just give me a bag of candy for my little brothers and I'll be on my way." FP replied.

Finn decided it was time to wrap this up. "Princess Bubblegum, you have agreed to the Flame Princess' demands. Do you have any demands of your own?"

"No I do not." she said, though her tone suggested otherwise.

"Then adorn your crowns once more."

PB put her crown back on and FP placed her red diamond back on her forehead, the gems glittered a little for a second. "This concludes the Princess Parley!" Finn shouted. "May peace reign!"

Everyone on Princess Bubblegum's side let out a cheer, the only person to cheer on Flame Princess' side was Cinnamon Bun though. PB ordered Jake and Peppermint Butler to go grab a bag full of candy and Jake stretched off into the Candy Kingdom with Pep-But in his arms. Finn sighed in relief before turning to PB. "Now that that's all out of the way, can I please take this thing off?" he pleaded.

Bubblegum giggled, "Alright go ahead, but I still think it's a good look on you."

Flame Princess smiled, "At least there's one thing we can agree on."

Finn grumbled at the princesses' teasing and pulled off the white robe and flower circlet, he handed them to a banana guard and enjoyed the feel of his regular attire. "That is so much better."

FP let out a small giggle. "Finn, I would like to thank you for all of this."

Finn looked at FP, "You would?"

"Yes, and as thanks," she snapped her fingers and Cinnamon Bun came over carrying a small box in his hands. "I present to you a gift."

Finn opened the box in CB's hands and pulled out two silver chain necklaces, one had a teardrop shaped sapphire hanging on the chain and the other had a ruby of the same shape and size. "Ah thanks! I've never been much of a jewelry guy, but thanks!" he said with a smile.

"The gems are enchanted." FP explained, "The ruby will protect you from the cold, while the sapphire will protect you from the heat. In addition to this gift, you are forever welcome in my kingdom until the end of your days." She gave Finn a smile, "I hope you decide to visit from time to time."

Finn blushed a bit, then pocketed the necklaces in his jacket and smiled back. "You know what? I just might."

Peppermint Butler and Jake chose that moment to return, Jake had a large sack slung over his shoulder. He deposited the bag at FP's feet. "Alright princess, I managed to grab you a pretty wide variety of sweets here." he told her.

"You didn't have to tear apart the streets and buildings to get it, you know." Peppermint Butler complained.

"Yeah, but it was quicker just to do it this way. Anyway, I hope your little bros enjoy it your highness."

Flame Princess smiled at Jake. "Thank you Jake."

"Ah don't worry about it. By the way, can I get your opinion on something real quick before you leave?"

"Okay sure."

Without warning, Jake reached up and yanked Finn's hat off once more. "Do you think this guy needs a haircut?" he asked with a cheeky grin.

FP stared at Finn's true features with a look of slight astoundment. "I… I don't think so, no." she replied, her cheeks forming a slight blush. "I'll just be on my way, farewell everyone." she said before turning around and hopping back onto her fire wolf.

Flint had also gotten back on his wolf, he shot Finn a dirty look. "I hate you." he said before following his sister and Cinnamon back to the Fire Kingdom with their army in tow. Once they were gone, Bubblegum let out a loud sigh of relief.

"It's over, thank you glob." she turned to Finn. "Or better yet, thank you Finn. If it weren't for you, then I shudder to think about what would've happened to my people and my kingdom."

Colonel Candy Corn walked up and slapped Finn on the back. "Heh heh heh yes sir, you're made out of top quality ingredients son! Why, you remind me of myself when I was a young candy corn. Oh those were the days let me tell ya, I was a young soldier hungry for action and ready for anything. You oughta hear about the time I led my first mission, why it was so many years ago the banana guards were still green. It all started with a-"

"Colonel Candy Corn, if I may interrupt?" PB interrupted, much to Finn's gratification. "Finn the Human, in celebration of the Candy Kingdoms salvation and as a reward for your bravery and heroic deeds, I would like to throw a party in your honor at the castle!" Everybody cheered upon hearing this, Finn looked at Bubblegum with a surprised look.

"Princess, you don't need to go through all that trouble just to-"

"Nonsense, it'll be fun for everybody! So whaddya say Finn, you down for a party?"

Finn stared at PB for a bit, then gave her a smile.

Later that night, everybody in the Candy Kingdom was in the castle partying hard. Princess Bubblegum went all out on the party with decorations, fully stocked bars and snack tables, lights, music, and even a sugar statue of Finn in the center of the party room. Finn had to admit that it was the most fun he had ever had in his life, he didn't really do a lot of dancing due to his lack of dancing experience, but he listened to the hardcore party music and drank some of the best punch he had ever tasted. Jake was boogying it out with Lady on the dance floor, Root Beer Guy was dancing with a cherry cream soda girl, Finn stood by the bar and watched PB dance with Mr. Cupcake. She had changed into a hot-pink hoodie and purple jeans, Finn thought it looked pretty natural on her, like she wasn't trying to impress, she just grabbed something and went to go have fun. Mr. Cupcake looked like he was having a blast, until an angry looking strawberry girl with chocolate covering her head walked up to him and shouted. Mr. Cupcake looked terrified, and before he could think of an excuse the strawberry girl turned her back on him and walked away looking steamed. The buff cupcake hurried after her, calling out whatever excuse he could come up with. Finn laughed at the sight, with no one to dance with Bubblegum walked over to Finn, who tried to keep his heartbeat down.

"Man I don't know what Chocoberry's problem is, it was one dance." she grabbed herself a cup of punch. "Speaking of which, I don't see you doing a whole lot of dancing. What's up?"

"Oh uhhh." Finn tapped his cup nervously. "We don't really do stuff like this very often back home, and by 'very often' I mean basically not at all."

"Oh dang, well you're a long way from home you know." She gave Finn a smile, "How about you dance with me?"

Finn's face reddened. "I-I-I would like that, sure prin-"

"Boo."

Bubblegum and Finn jumped back with a yelp and saw Marceline materialize next to them, leaning against the bar laughing. She wore a neat black dress with purple stockings and a pair of dark pink slippers. "I'm sorry, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to do that. It is just so satisfying to scare people by saying the word 'boo'."

PB gave Marcy a look of aggravation. "Marceline, I don't think you were invited to this party."

Marcy shrugged. "Yeah well, neither were they." she pointed at the entrance, where Ice King and LSP were trying to get past the banana bouncer.

"Oh my glob just let us through dang it! Hey hands off my lumps banana brains!"

"Yeah come on man, we know Finn the Human, he can vouch for us. And if you can't get him then go grab my girl PB, she'll let me in at least."

Bubblegum groaned in frustration. "Of course."

"Ah let them in PB." Finn said. "LSP gave me a place to crash my second night in Ooo and Ice King's a pretty cool dude, no pun intended."

PB rolled her eyes. "Okay fine, the party's in your honor so if you say they can stay then so be it. And what about Marceline?"

"Even if I said no, good luck getting rid of her."

"He's right you know Bonnie."

Bubblegum grunted in annoyance before walking over to IK and LSP, Marceline took Finn's empty solo cup and drained the red out of it. "So Finn, party in your honor huh? Congrats man."

Finn took the cup back and refilled it. "Thanks Marcy. I gotta say; being able to help out like that, being praised as a hero, it feels pretty darn good. It's what I wanted my entire life."

"Oh yeah?, well seems to me you got a little more than you bargained for." Marcy replied.

"Sister you don't know the half of it, back on the island, none of this would have been even remotely possible or even conceivable. All the Humans think Ooo is just a mutant filled wasteland, when in truth," Finns face lit up. "It's a wonderland."

Marceline smiled, "Sounds like you're really starting to like it here."

Finn chuckled. "Yeah, when I get back home, I'm never gonna be able to forget this place, I promise you that."

"You could always like, visit couldn't you?" the vampire asked.

"No not a chance, once I get home my mom will never let me out of her sight again. Tomorrow after the party, PB said she would start helping me get back home."

Marcy paused before answering him. "You could always just… stay you know, I don't see why you couldn't."

Finn looked at her in surprise, 'Huh, maybe I could-wait no.' "Marcy, I could never do that to my mom, she would be heartbroken. And besides, as much as I like it here, I don't belong here. I belong with the rest of the humans."

Marceline frowned at that. "Okay then, how about this?; stay in Ooo for just a little bit longer, go around helping some more, experience the wonders of Ooo, you can stay at the treehouse, and then get Peebles to send you home when you've got it all out of your system."

Finn stared at the vampire in contemplation, "I… I… I don't know."

Marcy placed a hand on Finn's shoulder. "Look, all I'm saying is; this is your life, it's your decision, what's wrong with having a little fun before you have to go back to your boring-ass island? And besides, no one really wants you to go." Then the vampire planted a kiss on Finn's cheek, startling him a fair amount and reddening his cheeks a bit. "And one more thing, you start to belong when you feel like you belong, simple as that." Marceline then floated off to Ice King and LSP to chat, leaving Finn to think over what she had just said. Bubblegum chose that moment to return, seemingly trying to keep a distance from Marceline, Ice King and LSP.

"Ugh, those three are such pains in my ass, it's like they have their own 'bother Bubblegum' club or something." PB noticed Finn's conflicted look. "Finn are you okay?" she asked him worriedly.

"I'm fine don't worry." he responded rather too quickly. Bubblegum continued to give Finn a concerned look until she smiled and placed a hand on his back. "You wanna see something cool?" she asked him.

Finn shrugged. "Sure, that sounds nice."

Bubblegum led Finn out of the party and down one of the castle hallways, she then walked up to a section of the wall and placed her hand on it. Underneath her hand the wall lit up with green light for a few seconds before disappearing, then the wall opened up like a revolving door. "Woah, that is cool." Finn commented.

PB giggled. "That's not what I wanted you to see ya donk, but I'm glad you like it. I got secret passages all over this castle." The princess led Finn down the secret passage which led them to a large laboratory, the room was full of machines, vials and beakers of chemicals, books and charts, and more science equipment that Finn couldn't even name. Bubblegum walked over and grabbed a large flask of greenish blue liquid from one of the counters, then she grabbed two mugs and sprinkled a little something in them. After that, she poured a decent amount of the blue-green stuff into the mugs, then she pulled out some candy matches, struck one aflame and lit the liquids in the mugs on fire. She took a mug and offered Finn the other, the flame burned green, blue and yellow. "Try this, it's my own special recipe."

Finn took the mug and eyed the colorful flame. "I uh, I have to admit I'm a bit skeptical about drinking fire."

PB shrugged. "Okay then." she took a drink out of her mug, It left a beard of edible fire on her face, "More for me."

Finn looked back at the drink, 'I probably shouldn't ask what it looks like coming out.' he took a small sip and his eyes lit up. "Oh dang, this is good!" Finn drained his mug and let out a satisfied 'aaaah', before licking the fire residue off his lips.

Bubblegum did likewise, she burped and a green flame shot out her mouth. "Oh boy, excuse me." she said, her cheeks turned a darker shade of pink.

Finn chuckled. "It's cool." Finn set his mug back on the counter. "Thanks for that PB, I guess I just really needed a stiff one."

PB snorted. "Yeah? Join the club, we've got free drinks."

They shared a laugh, Finn twiddled his thumbs nervously. 'Come on man, keep the ball rolling.' "So PB, this is a pretty impressive lab you have here. Where did you learn to do all this anyway?"

Bubblegum smiled wistfully. "Would you believe me if I said I was self-taught?, it's all just stuff I managed to pick up since the day I was born. I quickly realized I had a knack for this kind of thing, when I was little, I would read whatever science books I could find and put together my own little gadgets and gizmos."

Finn stared at PB in wonder. 'Add that to the fact that she's over eight hundred years old, eight hundred years of learning.' "Dang princess, that's incredible. My mom would absolutely love you... that or, try to dissect you. I'm honestly not entirely sure."

PB chuckled. "Yeah, us scientists; new species and developments are always exciting to us. I still want a blood sample by the way." the princess perked up, "Oh by way, do you have any Human technology on you? Whatever it might be, it could assist greatly in getting you home." she said that last part with a little less vigor.

Finn thought for a moment, then pulled out his dead phone. "How about this?, it's out of juice but still functional. My mom put a tracker chip in it if that helps."

Bubblegum took the phone with a slight sparkle in her eyes. "This will do perfectly, not only should I be able to pinpoint your island's location but I might also be able to communicate with your island." She returned her gaze to Finn, a somewhat sad smile on her face, "I can get started right away if you'd like, I'll have you home before you know it."

Finn looked to the ground in deep thought, he was almost there, he was almost home. And yet, he didn't feel as excited as he initially thought he would feel. He was about to go home… but what really awaited him back home? Once he returned to Founder's Island, there would be no more parties, no more magic wizards, no more drinkable fire, no more any of this. Finn suddenly understood why Hiders were always so desperate to leave the island: they knew. Maybe deep down everybody knew but the Hiders were the only ones ready to accept that there was more beyond their island and risk their lives and reputation to see the rest of the world. 'If only they could see this place.' Attractions aside, Finn just stopped a war, Finn was able to bring peace when everybody was sure it was impossible. He was finally being a Helper in more ways than helping out old people and taking care of cuts and bruises. Voices flooded into Finn's head without any way of tuning them out.

'You guys sound like you do more surviving than living.'

'A simpler road makes for a happier journey.'

'This is your life, it's your decision, what's wrong with having a little fun before you have to go back to your boring-ass island?'

'The trick to leaving a happy and productive life is knowing and accepting who you are and where you stand in this world.'

'Make your choice.'

Finn looked PB in the eyes. "Go ahead and get started whenever you like princess, but let me know when you're able to send a message to the island." his voice filled with resolve. "I think I'm gonna hang out a bit longer here in Ooo, see the sights and help where it's needed."

PB was taken back by this, but were eyes twinkled with a hint of joy. "Are you sure? You're really staying?"

"Not forever but yeah, just until… I'm not even entirely sure. I can't just abandon my mom and my people, but I can't go back just yet either. This world, heck this kingdom alone, has been a wonderful dream I don't want to wake up from. But it's not a dream, it's all real, it's all here, and I have to see more of it before I go back to my life on the island. Let me know as soon as you're able to set up a communication link to Founder's Island, but I'll let you know when I'm ready to go back home. However long that may be."

Bubblegum stared at Finn for a while, then smiled and pocketed the phone. "You got it Finn, and furthermore, I'm really glad you decided to stay."

Finn smiled back. "Yeah… yeah me too."

PB looked at Finn like she was considering something, then walked up, grabbed Finn by the shoulders and gave him a quick kiss. Finn's whole face turned cherry red.

"I'm really glad you decided to stay." she repeated tenderly.

Finn's tongue decided to stop working. "Uh… uh… uh…"

PB smiled at Finn's flustered state, then released her hold on him. "You wanna see something else?" Finn nodded and the princess turned around "Timmy!" she shouted out in a high pitched voice. Then from out of nowhere, a cat the size of a horse walked up to them. It's bottom half was snow white, and it's top half was peach pink. The cat walked up to Finn and gave his hand a lick.

"Ahhhh, hey there big guy." Finn scratched the cat behind his ear, earning him a happy purr. The red on Finn's face had subsided a bit.

Bubblegum giggled. "Looks like Timmy really likes you. He's normally friendly, but not this friendly to strangers."

'For some reason, standing by this large cat that's three times my size makes me feel safe… not sure that's really a good thing.' Finn blinked his eyes and for one confusing second the cat looked like a white tiger. Timmy pounced on Finn and pinned him to the ground, where he continued to happily lick away at Finn's face, resulting in a laugh from both PB and Finn. When Timmy decided that Finn had had enough, the big cat released the Human from his hold and walked over to PB, where she gave Timmy an affectionate rub on his head.

"You ready to go back to the party?" Bubblegum asked Finn.

Finn got up off the floor. "Yeah, lets go."

After the party, Finn walked back to the treehouse through the night with the head of the sugar statue in his arms. Before they left, Ice King had taken an arm, Lady took a leg, LSP took home the… well, Finn tried to forget about what LSP had taken. Jake was walking beside Finn, munching on the sugary chest of the statue.

"Man Finn, that party was tight!" Jake took another bite out of the sugar Finn's chest. "You should stop wars more often."

Finn laughed, "Yeah it was pretty fun." he bit the ear off sugar Finn's hat.

Jake looked at Finn. "So you're really staying in Ooo for a bit longer?, good to hear man!" he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows. "I bet Bubblegum was pretty happy to hear that."

Finn failed to keep his blush down. "Don't know what you're talking about." he said without looking at Jake.

"Come on dude, I saw you and PB ditch the party. So… what happened?"

"Nothing."

"Come on."

"Nothing happened."

"Tell me."

"I am telling you, nothing happened."

"Something happened."

"She showed me her cat Timmy."

"I don't like cats, gimme something else."

"She showed me her science lab."

"Dude I'm not gonna stop bugging ya til you give me something good, now spill."

"... okay fine she kissed me."

Jake gasped and his eyes went wide. "No. Way."

Finn blushed. "It was one small kiss, it didn't mean anything."

"Dude, it meant everything!" Jake exclaimed. "PB's into you, so is Flame Princess, so is just about every princess in Ooo by now!"

"I doubt-"

"Dude, dude, listen to me. Ya gotta open your eyes and see that you have won the heart of every princess you have encountered so far. So go and ask one of them out, ask out LSP if you want for all I care, you just gotta get out there man. You want a new and exciting experience in Ooo? Try dating."

Finn didn't answer, he just bit into his candy head again. 'I guess I could give it a shot.'

When Finn and Jake arrived at the treehouse, Jake had already finished his piece of sugar statue and Finn's head as well. The dog licked his fingers and turned to Finn. "Alright man you have a goodnight, I would crash with ya, but a vampire owns that house."

"Dude, why are you so afraid of Marceline?" Finn asked him.

"Uh, vampire." Jake responded as if that explained everything. "Have you seen them fangs? No thank you."

"Dude that's racist, Marceline is actually really cool."

"Maybe she is, but still though. I can handle just about anything man, anything except vampires."

"Well that's a shame, cause Marceline's standing right behind you."

"...Dude don't do that."

"I'm being serious Jake, she's right behind you."

"Dude, please don't do that."

"She's moving closer to you."

"Finn, I swear to glob."

"Getting closer."

Jake spun around quickly and saw nobody behind him. "Dude come on, that's not fun-"

Finn poked Jake's sides while he was turned around and the dog let out a frightened shriek. Finn let out a laugh. "No, but that is definitely funny!"

Jake had a hand on his heart and was trying to steady his breathing. "You donk! I am so gonna get you back for that."

Finn let out one final chuckle. "Whatever you say man, have a goodnight."

"Yeah yeah, you too." Jake said begrudgingly before extending his legs and walking off.

Finn unlocked the door and walked inside. After he brushed his teeth and showered, Finn laid in his bed and stared up at the ceiling. He considered whether or not he made the right call, staying in Ooo for a while instead of going straight home. Finn's mom must be losing her digital mind over Finn's absence, was that really worth a crazy vacation?

Finn closed his eyes. 'It's not forever.' he thought. 'I'll send her a message.' And with that, Finn fell asleep and dreamed of Ooo.

Hoorah! The moment you were all waiting for! Finn has decided he likes it in Ooo and doesn't wanna leave just yet, or possibly ever.
