Episode 1: Eleven Years Later
Bridge Holling took a deep breath as he pressed a key on the keyboard of the room and slowly, the machines made a slow medical checkup then, the machine send light over the crystals, creating clothes more of actual time, and finally, when the process was done, Bridge looked at the screen and put down the machines.
A hand came to his shoulder and Bridge looked to the side to see Z Delgado beside him. He put his arm around him and rested his head on her shoulder. He has exhausted from the constant checkups and the nerves everybody was feeling.
-Is going to be ok…-whispered Z.
-You think? Dad always said they had a temper… what if they are mad at us for not telling them sooner? -asked Bridge.
-We couldn't tell. We weren't allowed to change the future and still, the future changed. -said Z, looking down at Bridge-… besides, I'm sure Wes and the Time Force Rangers will understand.
Bridge nodded and walked towards the crystal, the process was nearly done and all he could think of it as if his father was right and these were the greatest Rangers that teach him everything he knew. He also wanted to know why he loved them so much.
-Where are the others? The process is almost done. -said Bridge.
-Jack is with Kruger and Sky and Syd are getting ready for everything for the visits, they will be here when they wake up. -promised Z.
Bridge nodded and grabbing Z's hand he looked at her and then back to the figures on the crystal.
-I hope everything goes well. -said Bridge.
-It will be ok… everything will be fine…-promised Z.
She only hoped that she could give Bridge at least enough hope to believe it in the same way she wanted to believe it.
Command Room
-So you just going to let him tell the story? -asked Jack.
-Yes, he programmed these holograms with his memories so I only see it fair for him to tell the story. -said, Kruger.
Jack nodded and looked at the device Kruger had in his hand. The Super Megaforce device is a legendary morpher used by someone considered almost a God in this city along with his two companions. The doors opened and Dr. Kat Manx walked into the room, holding the latest results.
-How is everything, Kat? -asked Kruger.
-Bridge is just finalizing the process but the vital signals and other tests are coming back fine so I don't think there will be a problem. -said, Dr. Manx.
Kruger nodded, he and Jack looked at the screen in front of him, where they could see the Academy and the students, they were all learning in the same way they did before they became Rangers but while some came for the fame or the legacy, they were Rangers as a part of a big family.
A family that got lost in time and is about to wake up now.
-How do you think they are going to react? -asked Jack.
-I'm sure there will be a lot of emotions, unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to prevent what happened, not even the Time Force Rangers knew about the attack as there void parts of history, made purposely for travelers so they don't intervene in history. -explained Kruger-… what happened in these eleven years is not something of their choice and they will understand what caused the events that brought us to this point.
Jack nodded and looked down, everything in their lives changed with that attack and what happened after that, their lives were all erased and rewritten because one Ranger wanted it all but, luckily for them, they had them to stop his attacks.
The Ranger and the Commander stood in silence, looking at the screen when the door opened and Z came walking slowly.
-Commander, Jack… everything is ready. -said Z-… we can start.
Jack and Kruger looked at each other and then nodded, this was the moment they have been waiting for a long time, with one last look towards the screen where they could see the statue that welcomes cadets every year, Jack and Kruger walked towards Z and the three left the room, ready to face their past.
Room
Sky and Syd walked into the room, hand in hand, and looked around the room where Bridge and Z took one side and Jack and Kruger the other with Dr. Kat Manx in the middle, ready to start the activation. She looked at everyone and then nodded before pressing the key.
Smoke started to come out from the crystal and slowly, the crystal opened in half, letting air in as the SPD Rangers, Kat and Kruger saw several people waking up, slowly and getting up confused and dizzy. Their clothes, different from the ones they had the last time they were awake, were more adapted to this time and their faces look a little bit older.
Kruger was the first one to take a step towards them, slowly and stood in front of one of the young men in front of him, with his red shirt and confused eyes, Troy Burrows looked stronger and older than the last time Kruger saw him.
-Troy… Rangers, welcome to the home of the SPD Rangers, Newtech City -said, Kruger.
-Commander Kruger? -asked Troy.
-Yes, I apologize. I know you are confused and probably feeling a little bit dizzy, eleven years of permanent sleep could do that to a human. -said Kruger-… please, feel free to request help to move if you need it.
-Eleven…? What are you talking about? -asked Antonio, the Gold Samurai Ranger.
Kruger turned towards him and then, the SPD Rangers took a step towards them, showing their faces for the first time. Jack, Sky, Bridge, Z, and Sydney smile at the previous Rangers before them but remained silent behind their Commander.
-Eleven years ago, after the defeat of Emperor Mavro and the Armada, you, Rangers were attacked by someone called 'The Death Ranger' -explained Kruger-… he drained your powers and left you in a state of permanent sleep until now.
-What? -asked Tommy, getting up slowly-… why…? Why now?
-I believe he was gathering power to get revenge on who he considered being his enemy and as to why now you are waking up… well… that's because the Death Ranger has been sealed, hopefully, forever. -explained Kruger.
The Rangers seemed confused and Kruger could not blame them for that. He looked down, at the device in his hand but he decided it was not the moment yet, first, he had to show them this city and help them to accommodate.
-Things are different now, Rangers. -said Jack, taking a step forward-… Newtech City has us, the SPD Rangers, and also we train cadets here that are sent out to different cities to protect and defeat any threat that comes to our planet or the universe.
-You train… -started Jen Collins-… wait, I read about you. The Time Force Academy was created with this base. You are our predecessors.
-We are and at the same time, you are ours. -said Z, smiling-… is a little confusing but this city, this building was created from a combination of ideas, some of the ideas you and your husband implemented.
Wes and Jen looked at each other, confused but it was Bridge who took a step forward now. He was extremely nervous and seemed to be unable to look at the Megaforce Rangers but he did his best to smile at them.
-We would… like for you to see the school and the cadets before we can explain what happened in these five years. -said Bridge-… there is a lot you need to know and understand before you can make sense of all of this.
-True. -said Sky, standing beside his friend/brother-… we prepared rooms for you, so you can rest… believe me, you may need it.
-But if you are strong enough now, we can take a walk towards the campus and see the cadets and classrooms and maybe a walk outside. I'm sure fresh air will be good for you. -said, Syd.
The Rangers weren't sure of what was happening anymore but they got up, slowly and after a few steps, they felt confident enough to follow the SPD Rangers, all of them got out except one, Jason that stopped in front of Kruger.
-Don't think we don't know my son is not here, Kruger…-said Jason-… did he do all this with Bastro?
Kruger looked at him for a few minutes. He saw it in Jason's eyes and Gia's. They knew Jake wasn't here and they wondered but Kruger had a mission to accomplish and he was going to do it, exactly in the way he was instructed to.
-Follow me and let's take this tour before we sit down, Jason. I promise you then, you will learn everything you need to know about your son and Bastro. -said, Kruger.
Jason didn't seem convinced but he had no choice but to wait. He followed Kruger out of the room hoping that Jake was fine and he was just hiding, waiting to give them a big surprise.
Studying Area
As the Rangers walked around the building, guided by the SPD Rangers, they took several looks at all the different classrooms where several cadets were doing their daily routine. There was the 'Preserving Earth' class, 'Technologies applied to the Rangers' class, 'Nature' class, 'Photography' class, and several other classes, curious enough, it represented most of what the Rangers did in their normal life.
At one point, one of the cadets saw the Rangers and smiling brightly, he ran out of class, standing in front of Emma as she looked down at him, confused.
-Uhm… do I know you? -asked Emma.
-You are Emma, right? The Megaforce and Super Megaforce Pink Ranger? -asked the young boy.
-Yes…-said Emma, still unsure.
-My name is Brian and I'm training to become a Pink Ranger, the first of my promotion. -said Brian-… your bravery and the bravery of so many Pink Rangers inspired me to want to wear this color proudly.
Emma looked at him, seeing the Pink color on his cadet jacket, and then turned towards the SPD Rangers confused but it was Syd who took a step forward and hugged Brian, kissing his hair before looking back at Emma.
-There is a story about this I will be happy to tell later. -said, Syd-… Brian, the Rangers just woke up and are connecting with reality again, slowly.
-Oh… I see I don't want to confuse her but I wanted her to know how important her fight was to me. -said Brian, looking down-… it took me a while to realize how strong you all are but when I did, I knew what color I wanted to wear to defend this planet and the universe.
Emma nodded, smiling at the young boy when he back to class, Sydney stood beside her as they walked out, towards the campus, doing her best to now show her pride coming out in waves even when she was so proud of the cadets they have and the lesson they received.
Syd had to lower her head, using her hair to cover her face as she wipe out a tear falling down her face.
The Rangers arrived on campus where they saw older cadets being trained and there were several surprises as the cadets were trained with Jason, Tommy, and Troy's techniques, there was also Ninja, Samurai, and Pai Zhuq, and even the hard training of the LightSpeed Rescue and what latter will be known as the Time Force course.
Suddenly, one of the cadets with a white shirt stopped his training, at first the Rangers didn't know who it was until Orion's eyes opened in surprise as he saw the young man run towards him and hug him.
-Orion!
Orion was surprised at first but then he hugged the young man and looked at him, grabbing his face and smiling brightly. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
-Bass!? What are you doing here!? -said, Orion.
-What do you mean? I have been here for the past 5 years, training as a cadet. I'm almost done with my course to become a Ranger. -said, Bass.
-Five years… but how?
Bass looked at Bridge and Bridge coughed, taking all the attention of the Rangers while he stood beside Bass and looked at Orion with a proud smile.
-Here, several species work together, aliens, humans, and humans from other planets. We work together to keep everyone safe. -explained Bridge-… Andresians and us work closely together as they helped build this complex and are part of Earth's routine and security.
-And after what happened at home… I wanted to do something more than stand by. -said, Bass.
Orion nodded, understanding and happy to have his brother back. He hugged him again and then, Bass grabbed his jacket, a white jacket with gold stripes. He looked at Bridge and then at the Rangers.
-My class is over. Can I go with you? -asked Bass.
Bridge knew why he wanted to go and for a second thought it was not the moment but everyone there knew how important this was for Bass Bridge looked at Commander Kruger, who nodded and allowed Bass to go with the Rangers.
Finally, the Rangers reached the doors of the Academy, in front of them, the back of three statues, put together. One of the statues had his sword raised and a wolf attacking beside him, on the other side there was another statue, this one had won and had a cane and the central statue had his hands raised, ready to fight.
The SPD Rangers, Bass, and Kruger took a deep breath, this was it. This was the moment.
-Rangers… here are the founders of the SPD Academy. The man you are about to see as the central statue created all you see here while the other two men on each side, supported and helped, being principal keys to the success of the mission. -said Kruger-… they are also, Bridge, Sky, and Syd's adoptive fathers, that's why they are so emotional right now.
Sky lowered his head, hugging Syd that was overwhelmed with emotion while Bridge tried to wipe his tears until Z grabbed his hand.
-Go on, Rangers… is time for you to know. -said Jack, encouraging the Rangers.
The Rangers seemed scared but slowly, they walked to see the front of the statues, and slowly, the faces were revealed. The surprise was big when they saw Jake at the center and Conner and Mike on each side, making them the founders of the SPD Academy.
Medical Bay
Dr. Kat Manx looked at the monitor and sighed, taking notes. It has been weeks and they still have not made any improvement. She is starting to worry that what happened was not enough and they were as gone as the other one was but she made the promise to keep fighting for them and that's what she will do. Until the very end.
She smiled down and put a hand on Conner's shoulder. The Ranger, sleeping, didn't notice her, and then Kat looked to the other side, where Mike remained also sleeping. The two Rangers' energies were low but Kat hoped that against all hope, their energies would return at some point.
That's why he saved their lives.
-You can do this, guys… you can…-whispered Kat.
Conference Room
Dealing with a bunch of angry Rangers was exactly what Kruger knew was going to happen as soon as they saw the statues but he didn't expect the three Yellow Rangers romantically attached to the figures to be so angry about it.
It took several people to stop them from attacking Kruger and Kruger believed that if they wanted, not even his Shadow Morpher could save him.
-What do you mean they founded this Academy?
Kimberly, always sweet but with enough touch to make Kruger nervous looked at him, waiting for an explanation since the three women in question were forced to sit down and hear what he had to say now, Kruger knew if the answer wasn't good enough, they will let them loose and they would not stop them so he looked down at the device and sighed, putting it on the table.
-Jake did tell me to be careful. -said, Kruger.
-He is the one who is going to have to be careful when I find him. -murmured Gia.
Kruger ignored her comment and looked back at Kimberly, Tommy, Jason, and Kat, by far the calmest of the Rangers, and not because they didn't care, but because they were waiting for answers, well, Kruger has their answers right there, on that device.
-This device was something Jake gave me some time ago, here, he made sure to record not only holograms of him but also all the memories of the events of these past eleven years. -said Kruger-… at this unravels, you will be able to see and understand the whole story of what they did and how affected the present and the future.
The Rangers looked at the device as Kruger pressed it and suddenly, beside him, an older version of Jake appeared in front of them. This Jake was wearing the SPD uniform, had a small beard and his eyes were more serious and more mature, but he still had the same smile he was when he was seventeen years old.
-Rangers, if you are watching this is because you finally woke up. I'm happy about that, eleven years is a long time to be sleeping. -said Jake, smiling-… I apologize for taking so long in solving the issue, it has been hard, and to be honest, I'm exhausted but I'm hoping soon everything will be over and you will be able to get your lives back.
Gia got up and rounded the table until she was beside Jake. She touched his holographic face while he closed his eyes and it seemed for a second like she was touching him. Bridge smiled, seeing the interaction and the love he heard about so many times but then the reality came crashing down when Jake opened his eyes and Gia lowered her hand.
-As you know by now, the day we finally defeated Emperor Mavro and the Armada, someone called 'Death Ranger' attacked you all, taking your energy to the point of leaving you all sleeping, with no chance to recover unless you got your energy back. -explained Jake-… it turns out, this Death Ranger is an old enemy of Bastro. He explained this to me the day we lost the Megazord but I didn't know the full extent of what he told me until the Death Ranger attacked you all.
They could see Jake walking around the table, looking sad as the memory of that day came back to him. He stopped, right beside Noah and it felt almost like he put a hand on Noah's shoulder before he looked up, to where his father, Tommy, Kimberly, and Kat were.
-When I came back to the surface and I saw you all on the ground… -said Jake, as a tear ran down his face-… I would never forget the feeling of losing every member of my family, my friends, and the love of my life. I was torn to pieces while I hold Gia in my arms, asking someone to come back… but then, something happened…
Jake chuckled looking at the morpher on his wrist, it was different from the one he used before, white with the face of a Lion with two golden eyes.
-Well… is better if see it yourselves…-said Jake.
The hologram Jake smiled before he disappeared and in his place, a big image appeared. There the Rangers could see themselves on the ground. The rain was pouring but Jake didn't care as he hold Gia in his arms and cried, screaming out of rage, fury, and sadness.
His white energy surrounded him and like a powerful beam, when to the sky.
-This is how my journey started… -was heard from Jake.
Harwood Beach (2014)
The white energy coming from Jake's body manifested in Bastro as the Lion looked around him. He looked sad as he walked towards Jake and sat in front of him, watching the young boy cry over the body of the girl he loved.
Jacob…
-They are gone… gone! What happened!? Why did it have to be like this!? -screamed Jake.
Bastro looked around, he walked towards Jason, not far from the Megaforce Rangers, and smelled him, feeling instantly the problem then, he moved towards Tommy, Troy, Ashley… one by one, he smelled all the Rangers and got to the same conclusion when he finished with Gia, under Jake's sad but confused eyes.
-What are you doing? -asked Jake.
They are not dead, Jacob… their energy has been drained…-said Bastro-… this must be the Death Ranger's doing but I still don't know why he wants the energy, unless…
-Unless? -asked Jake.
The Lion lowered his head, clearly thinking and then he raised his head to look at Jake.
I have an idea but first, we need two things… there is an old chamber. I still have access to some Zeo crystals we can use to keep them safe until we can bring back their energy but I'm telling you now, Jacob, this is not going to be easy.
-I'll do it… I'll do anything to bring them back. -said, Jake.
Well then, the second thing we must do is visit Eltar, my home planet. There are three morphers we need to retrieve to be ready for our journey.
-Three morphers? -asked Jake.
I'll tell you more about our travel, Jacob but for now, let's bring everyone somewhere they can be protected, and then I will explain the rest.
Jake nodded and looked around, wondering how they were going to transport so many people when suddenly white energy surrounded them and all of them, including Gia, disappear from around Jake then, Bastro walked towards Jake and his real form appeared again, kneeling in front of the young man, and putting a hand on his shoulder.
We will bring them back, Jacob. You teach me hope is the last thing to lose.
Jake nodded and got up with Bastro's help. The white form became a spirit again and went to Jake. Jake's eyes turned to gold for a second and then, he knew what to do. The first they needed was a ship and he knew where to find one.
-Orion's ship… the one he used to come here…
Jake ran from the beach and towards where he remembered the ship was, with some luck, wasn't destroyed in the fight and he can use it one more time.
SPD Headquarters (Year 2025)
The Mighty Morphing, Zeo, Turbo, and In Space rose from their chairs as they saw Bastro's real form. Kruger looked at them, intrigued by their reaction but remained quiet as the Rangers tried to come to terms with what they just saw.
-Zordon… but I… killed him. I destroyed his tube…-said Andros.
-You did, Andros but the part he still was able to come back using parts of his energy. -said Kruger-… the result was Bastro and he went to Jake because Jake had all the qualities he needed to fight the Death Ranger.
-He knew he was my and Trini's son, right? -said Jason, punching the table-… he knew Jake learned everything from all of us, of course, he was the perfect candidate for whatever adventure he needed him!
Kruger and the SPD Rangers remained silent as Jason turned his back on them, angry but it was Bridge the one who took a step towards Jason and put a hand on his shoulder, making the Red Ranger look at him. Bridge looked nervous but in his eyes, Jason could almost see Jake's expression when he wanted to say something.
-Mister Scott, I… I don't want to justify Zordon but he was right in thinking Jake could do it. Look at this room, the classrooms, the cadets, nothing would have been possible without him. -said Bridge-… I wouldn't be here without him.
-Neither would I or any of us. -said Kruger-… as you see, Jason. Bridge comes from Eltar he meets Jake there and they became close.
Jason looked at Bridge and Bridge lowered his head, smiling as if he was embarrassed.
-What is your full name, young man? -asked Jason.
-Bridge was my name as an Eltarian I was around 10 years old and that's all I knew. I don't remember my biological parents. -said Bridge-… but when Jake brought me here, he became my dad and named me Bridge Noah Scott.
Jason looked at the young man and after a few seconds, when Bridge raised his head he received nothing but a big smile and a hug, not far from them, Noah was speechless as he walked towards Bridge and put a hand on his shoulder.
-You were named after me? -asked Noah.
-Of course. Dad said always be proud of your name Bridge because you have the name of the Ranger who used his head and his heart to save my life plenty of times, with and without the costume. -said Bridge.
Noah smiled, hugging the Green Rangers when Z grabbed Bridge's hand and took the attention of the Ranger, there was no mystery love was present there but no one said anything until Z raised her head, looking at Jason.
-Jake's travel to Eltar brought so many things to light… not only brought us Bridge but also a lot of mysteries about Zordon's origins and the three morphers they brought back. -said Z-… one of them, of course, would be for Jake, the other two, for Bastro's guardians, the ones who would help him defend the universe, and the other two Rangers missing here right now.
-You mean…-said Tommy.
-Yes. -said Sky-… Conner and Mike are part of the story here and their journey starts in Eltar.
This time, Syd pressed the device and again, an image of Jake piloting Orion's ship appeared as in front of the Rangers, images of planet Eltar appeared.
