Hi! The next chapter is out! I know this one took a while to come out, but I've been having a bit of writer's block. As I promised, this chapter will have Keefe's POV. Thanks sooooo much for the reviews, they really helped me come up with ideas. I can't believe I've got 137 views! Thanks so much!

LinhSong: Thanks! I'm really happy you liked it! My chapters will usually be out whenever I'm free, but I'll try and update more often. :)

RJ Cadigan: Thank you! You have no idea how much that means to me! My cliffhangers aren't as wicked as Shannon Messenger's, though this one might come close…. :)

charlottexsze: Thanks! I'm glad you're so wowwed (literally!) by my story! I know what a huge KOTLC fan you are so that means a lot.

Keefe's POV

"What do you want?" Surprisingly, this sentence came from Keefe, who was glaring daggers at the shadows, at what appeared to be nothing.

"Ah, you have sensitive eyes, I wasn't sure you would notice." Gethen looked surprised.

"Now that you mention it, I see it too." Tam nodded his head.

He narrowed his eyes and moved his hands in an opening motion. The shadows moved away to reveal….

-

Lady Gisela. Mom. She stood there and held her head high, like she still held her title.

I felt my world collapse. My knees felt weak, but two hands held me up. Foster. In between her eyebrows, there was that cute little crinkle again.

"Are you okay?" she whispered to me.

I took a deep breath. I had to be strong. "Yeah."

I could tell she was still worried, but she let it slide.

Gethen laughed "Surprised?" he said to me.

"Not really. I knew she had to make a pathetic comeback sometime."

She spoke for the first time. "You are fighting a losing battle. Do you not realise that? In the end, one way or another, we will win. And my son is the key to this. So why not give up now?"

I narrowed my eyes. I would NOT let her win. "I will never surrender."

Foster glanced at me, her forehead creasing again. She said "You're wrong Keefe. We will never surrender."

My friends nodded their agreement, even Bangs boy.

I felt a little emotional. I had amazing friends who stood by me no matter what. I was lucky to have them. And Foster….. was possibly something else. So I looked at Mom with renewed vigour. No matter what the Neversen threw at me, I knew I could face it. I had to focus on the future, not the past.

Mom opened her mouth to speak again. "So, here's our deal. You either join the Neverseen again, or your little frie- aquaintance wil die. And let me tell you. 10 shots to the head with a melder will not be pretty. So, what is it?".

We all looked at each other and came to a silent agreement. Foster opened her mouth, about to say the words that determine my future…

Ok… another cliffhanger to my name! Sorry! As I mentioned, I have been suffering from writer's block, so if you have any ideas, please review or PM them to me! If I receive more reviews, I might make the chapters longer! Once again, thanks to those who reviewed. Stay safe, happy, and keep reading!
