Hey! Here's the next chapter as promised. :). Quick note, this chapter will have Keefe and Sophie's POVs, but next chapter it will also have Dex's and Biana's. I've also decided I'll write a new chapter as soon as I receive at least 2 reviews. Lastly, I realise that this chapter is a lot like one from the actual series, but I didn't copy it.

Luna2022: I'll definitely try to keep the cliffhangers to a minimum, but no promises! Also, I'm so sorry if this sounds really mean, but FITZ DESERVES IT! He basically insulted and hurt Sophie over and over, and expected her to go back to Fitzphie. (I'm so sorry, but I REALLY HATE Fitzphie….:() SOKEEFE FOR LIFE!

Sokeefe4Evar: Your stories are also amazing! Thanks for being there with me from the start :).

Sophie's POV:

As I crashed into the void, I could hear Sandor yelling threats behind me. I had no doubt that he would ground me for the rest of eternity, but this was more important. I took a deep breath and focused on a mental image of the "Waves of Wimpiness", and pushed it out of my mind. The darkness swallowed the warmth, and for a second nothing happened. Then the void opened and I fell out, landing in Keefe's arms.

He grinned and said, "There are easier ways to knock a guy off his feet, Foster."

But I could hear the waver in his voice, and even his grin was more of a grimace. He gently put me on my feet and I squeezed his hand.

"It's gonna be alright, Keefe."

"I hope so."

I changed the subject to something lighter. "How did you get away from Ro?"

"I locked her in my room with….let's just say she's gonna be having a fun few hours."

I took one more deep breath and looked at him. "Ready?"

"Let's do this."

(Okay…Not so sure that there's an actual cliff at the Shores of Solace, but I'm pretending there is)

As we jumped off the cliff, I imagined the beautiful canals and picturesque streets of Venice in my head. I had looked it up on Google on my iPod before I had left. The void opened, and we crashed into the sunny cobblestone streets of Venice, Italy.

(Another note, if you don't want to read this one, that's fine: I actually did go to Venice before covid. IT WAS AMAZING! I still have this glass bead that I got from Murano on a necklace in my jewellery box.)

Keefe's POV

Everywhere around us, there were humans snapping pictures of a statue in front of a church. We hurried forwards to the Neverseen's eye symbol on a drainage pipe, right where Mom said it would be. Foster scanned the crowd and scrunched her eyebrows together adorably. I thought about reaching forwards and-. No. She had enough to deal with as it was.

Then I saw her. Mom. She had appeared in front of the statue and was walking towards us. I nudged Sophie, and she squeezed my hand.

I took a deep breath and held my head high. I was done being her little puppet, and it would take more than Mom to take me down. We had worked out a plan after taking the Fitzter to the Healing Center. The plan was for Sophie to monitor Mom's thoughts (Yes I know that sounds creepy), and see if we could figure out anything. She would also track any nearby thoughts just in case any other Neverseen members were nearby. And I would do… nothing. The only useful thing I would do was track Mom's emotions throuout the conversation. That's it.

Foster tugged my hand again and I realised I had zoned out. Mom was now standing in front of us, looking amused.

"Never going to learn, is he?" she said to Foster.

She didn't do anything, but looked like she wanted to nod. I felt a burst of shame. I was supposed to be alert and wary. How could I do that after zoning out 5 minutes into the plan?

"Let's get to the point." Mom said. "The thing is, you need help, and I can offer you some information that you desperately need."

"What's the catch?" Foster demanded.

"There isn't one." Mom said, sounding annoyed.

"If you expect us to believe that, then you're gonna be disappointed." I said, proud of my voice for not wavering. "Come on, I told you, she's not going to help us." I tugged on Sophie's hand, hoping my performance iwas good enough. Foster started to follow, but stopped when Mom grabbed her arm.

"Fine. My condition is that Keefe will have to join the Neverseen again."

Foster shrugged Mom's hand off, and said "Like that's gonna happen."

"Wait." I was so surprised that this statement came from me that I didn't say anything for a second. "What's the information?"

Foster looked so betrayed, that I didn't look at her. I focused on the tips of my shoes.

"I have information about the "Vacker Legacy", she smirked.

"And why would we need this information?"Sophie asked.

"Because it's life changing."

"Yeah, we're leaving now." So many times before we had let her pull us down and control us, well I wouldn't allow that to happen anymore, and even if this information was life changing, we could find out about it some other way.

As Sophie held up her home crystal to the light and gripped my arm, I knew we had made the right choice. Mom's lips were pressed in a thin line as she said "You'll regret this."

"We probably will." Foster said.

She pulled me into the light.

Okay! I tried to make this chapter longer, was it better? I know I said that I would upload this yesterday, but there was this one bit that sounded weird so I had to change it. Also, Luna2023, is this better? I'll try and keep the cliffhangers to a minimum from now on, to make you guys happy. Anyway, Stay safe, happy, and review!
