Episode 2: Sonic to the Rescue.
On a deserted island off shore from the mainland where Station Square resided, was a towering secret base that was the newest home of Dr. Ivo Robotnik, the terror of Mobius. It has been six months since his latest defeat by the hands(and speed) of his arch-enemy, Sonic the Hedgehog. But now the evil scientist was just about ready to strike yet again. This time he had his sights on Station Square, the city of his own kind, not that it made much of a difference to him, because Mobius would soon be his to rule alone.
"Oh ho ho ho ho ho! Just look at them! Completely oblivious of what they are about to face. I'll finish this city first and then build my Robotnikland!" Robotnik laughed, staring at the monitors that over-looked the human populated city. Given that he was a human himself, he would've felt right at home if it wasn't the fact he wanted to take over the world.
A tall-ish thin light yellow robot then walked into the main computer room, along with a shorter grey one that was a bit rounder, and finally a small black-purple small robot with horns, white gloves, red boots, with a belt that had an M on the front for a belt-buckle, and unlike all other robot creations, he was designed to eat normal food. Their names were Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, Robotnik's latest creations, the former two being his assistants and the latter being built as a messenger...and childish. They were created four months ago.
"Which robot do you wish to use, Dr. Robotnik?" Decoe asked, holding out a tray filled with...playing cards with robot pictures on them.
Robotnik glanced at his new creations and picked up the cards, looking through them to see which one he wanted to use. "Hm, let's see...They all look so lethal. Mm...I can't choose. Only one thing to do."
The evil man stood up from his chair and approached a slot machine next to the monitor, placing the cards into the Selection Machine Card slot and closed it before pulling the lever. Like a normal slot machine, it reeled until three pictures of a robot with a missile called E-23 Missile Wrist appeared.
"Ah. E-23 Missile Wrist. Perfect!" Robotnik grinned evilly.
"Begging your pardon, Doctor, there is something else you should know." Bocoe reported, which made his creator to glance at him, quickly annoyed.
"What is it?" The evil doctor asked.
"It was reported that a blue blur has appeared in Station Square, fighting off men with robots of their own a few hours ago." The grey robot answered.
"What!?" Robotnik shouted, both angered that somebody else was already using robots to attack Station Square, and horrified as there was only one blue blur he knew of. "Show me the footage!"
"Yes, doctor." Decoe and Bocoe saluted, hurrying over to the monitors and typed down a few keystrokes, until they found footage from the News Reporters from a few hours ago, where cameras recorded the events that played out.
Surely enough, to Robotnik's dismay, was the image of a group of men and robots holding a little girl hostage until a blue blur came in and formed into a familiar blue hedgehog standing on the lamp post before taking the girl back to her mother and fighting off the enemies. He instantly recognized the teenage Mobian.
"NO! NOT SONIC!" Robotnik exclaimed angrily, growling in fury as he clutched his fists before shoving both Decoe and Bocoe out of the way roughly where the two robots cried out in alarm and crashed onto the floor, and pounded onto the dashboard. "What is that blue brat doing in Station Square!?"
"Maybe he's on vacation?" Bokkun, having a child's voice, suggested meekly.
"It could be the most logical explanation. Sonic cannot have known of you not being far from the city." Decoe agreed as he stood up, rubbing his head.
"Either way, from what you have told us, this poses a huge problem." Bocoe added, standing up as well.
Robotnik growled once more, declaring. "If that's the case, then I'll make sure his vacation is cut short! I must make sure that hedgehog doesn't get in my way! And I want to find out about these men who are a bunch of copy-cats!"
It seemed that it was the start of yet another battle between him and the hero of Mobius.
The next morning at Chris's house, the Thorndyke Mansion, Sonic was lying on the balcony railing, having woken up a short time ago when Chris received a phone call from his mother, who was apparently away as was the boy's father. The kid's parents were named Lindsey and Nelson.
"I'm sorry, darling, but with all of this torrential rain, the shooting of the film has been delayed, meaning I won't be home until at least next week." Lindsey was saying over Chris's Mobile phone.
"It's okay, Mom. I heard that the weather can delay filming." Chris sighed, trying not to sound disappointed even though he expected as much. It made him upset that his mother would always spend more time shooting for movies and less time with the family. "Anyway, um, I-I did something I wasn't meant to do."
He heard his mother begin to panic as she gasped. "Christopher, what happened? Are you alright!?"
"I'm okay, totally fine, but remember how you said I wasn't meant to swim during the night and stay away from the adult pool?" The twelve year old began, nervously, while Sonic peaked an eye open before opening both as he glanced over his new friend from the window.
"Christopher Thorndyke! Did you go swimming in the adult pool last night!?" Lindsey exclaimed, both frantic and angered so loudly that Chris had to hold the phone away from his head, wincing at the loud shouting.
Sonic winched as he even he could hear the screaming from where he was, feeling sorry for the kid as he knew what moms were like. He muttered in sympathy. "Ouch. I made the poor kid grounded for my mistake. Gotta make it up to him big time."
"Not exactly...You see, this is going to sound crazy, but I rescued Sonic the Hedgehog who's here in town visiting on vacation. He accidentally fell into the pool while trying to find a place to stay for the night, so I offered him to stay here to get some sleep." Chris explained awkwardly.
"Sonic the Hedgehog!? The hedgehog who saved the world? Oh my gosh, you have such big heart, saving the famous hero and inviting him to stay for the night! Oh, you're so lucky to have met such a celebrity! Mommy's so proud of you! But be more careful next time." Lindsey gasped, cooing over her son who blushed in embarrassment. "What's he really like? Is he as brave and fast as they say?"
"He's really cool. Cooler than they say on TV." The human boy chuckled, and the aforementioned blue hedgehog couldn't help but smirk, flattered by his new friend's words.
"Well, be sure to be good around him and next time something like what happened last night happens again, ring for Mr. Tanaka and he'll take care of it, alright?" Lindsey told him, making Chris blush. "Anyway, I've had plenty of time to go shopping and I've already sent wonderful gifts for you. They're on Daddy's jet so you'll be getting them tonight. It's a pity that I didn't think of getting something for Mr. Sonic."
"Thanks, Mom. I'm sure we can make it up for him." The young Thorndyke replied.
"Of course. Oh, sweetie, I've got to go. Ciao, sweetheart and say hello to Mr. Hedgehog for me." His mother said, before she and Chris, who promised that he will do her request, said their goodbyes and hung up. By then, Sonic hopped off of the railing and entered inside.
"I guess I owe ya' a big apology for you breaking your Mom and Dad's house rules last night. Sorry 'bout that." Sonic shrugged apologetically.
"Well, at least I didn't get grounded." Chris said, jokingly. "Plus, she sounded really enthusiastic when I told her about you. Though I guess I should've been more formal, Mr. Sonic."
"Oh, come on. I'm not that much older than you. I'm only fourteen after all." The blue hedgehog pointed out, folding his arms. "My birthday isn't for several more months."
"Sorry. Please don't be mad. It's just, well, my Mom's a famous movie actress and I have to be more respectful for celebrities like you." The human boy sighed.
Sonic sighed, scratching his head. "It's okay. I don't hold a grudge for much of anything. The only guy I do hold a grudge is Robotnik, and not to sound rude here, but most of the time I call him Ro-butt-nik."
That not only made Chris relieved, but he also laughed when he heard how Sonic mispronounced Robotnik's name. "Oh man! I can't say that to my family, but I've gotta tell my friends at school! How'd you come up with that one?"
"Hey, bad guys like him do deserve that sort of thing. I kick his butt all the time." Sonic snickered. "Anyway, you don't have to worry about being formal with me. Just call me Sonic."
"I guess so. Mom also apologizes for not getting you something since she got me things as usual." The twelve year old boy replied.
"It's cool. Plus, you saved my neck last night. I owe you one, buddy." The fourteen year old winked with a smirk.
Chris chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "You're welcome. I almost forgot, you must be pretty hungry. Ella's making pancakes, if you want some."
"Sure. I used to have pancakes my mom made almost every second week. In fact, last time I had them was two weeks ago." Sonic nodded, following his new human friend downstairs.
"Does your family know that you're here?" The human boy asked curiously.
"Sure. My dad's the one who directed me here. He used to come to this place when he was a kid." The blue hedgehog replied, gazing down a little with a sad smile he attempted to hide. "With my uncle too."
The duo made it down stairs and Sonic had to admit, the place was quite huge and fancy looking, but rather comfortable. It could easily house about fifteen or twenty people. The blue hedgehog heard that the TV was on, but ignored it and followed Chris into the dining room where two people, the housemaid and butler the hero of Mobius guessed, were. The housemaid was a lady of mixed background with dark grown hair, a simple blue dress and white apron with matching and comfortable shoes, while the Butler looked of an Japanese looking background with a suit and thin glasses.
As they were setting up the plates filled with the sweet looking and delicious pancakes with a jug of maple syrup, the two, Ella and Mr. Tanaka, noticed the two boys and looked rather surprised by the teenage Mobian's sudden appearance.
"Ah, good morning Master Chris." Tanaka greeted first.
"Good morning, Chris." Ella added, before being the first to ask about the blue hedgehog. "Who is this young'un?"
"Um, Ella, Mr. Tanaka, this is Sonic the Hedgehog. I saved him from drowning in our swimming pool last night." Chris introduced nervously, stepping aside a bit to fully reveal the hero of Mobius.
"Yo." Sonic greeted with a wave.
Ella and Mr. Tanaka stared in surprise, almost speechless before the kindly woman said. "My goodness, this is the young hero of Mobius? I never expected to meet the energetic boy."
"And to think he is Master Chris' guest. It is an honor to meet a fellow warrior." Tanaka replied, bowing his respects to Sonic who blinked in surprise, before the human butler held out his hand to the hedgehog. "You are a well trained self-taught hero, Mr. Sonic. I do hope you have a master that is teaching you the arts of learning of the outside world from your home village."
"Uh...Thanks. Nice to meet you too, Mr. Tanaka." Sonic replied awkwardly, shaking hands with the man. He then added to Ella, "Same to you, Ella."
"I am just as surprised that you came to Station Square last night. Please wait here, I will get you a plate with my pancakes for you." Ella replied, smiling warmly before hurrying over to the kitchen, with Tanaka excusing himself to go and help, leaving the two boys on their own once again.
Once briefly out of eavesdrop, Sonic sweat dropped before whispering to Chris. "Um, no offense Chris and I like Ella already, and Tanaka seems like a cool guy, but what's with the whole warrior and training and master stuff?"
"Mr. Tanaka means well and both he, Ella, and Grandpa take good care of me, but a lot of times he takes Kung Fu movies too seriously. Everybody in the house knows that." Chris whispered back, in a mixture of apologies, embarrassment and exasperation.
"Hmm...Right." Sonic murmured wearily, wondering just how much of Kung Fu movies Tanaka did watch in his childhood right up to this point of still doing it even to this day.
It wasn't long before the two kind house servants returned as the blue hedgehog and his new friend took their seats and the teenager was given a plate with four pancakes which he thanked her. The two newly bonded friends ate the delicious pancakes when Tanaka approached Chris.
"Master Chris, am I to assume that your parents don't know of our guest?" The butler asked.
"No, I already called them this morning. The only one who doesn't know yet is Grandpa." Chris replied.
Tanaka nodded in understanding. "Then I suppose Master Chuck will be quite surprised to see Mr. Sonic."
When he heard the name 'Chuck', Sonic froze slightly before lowering his gaze, memories of his late uncle resurfacing. It caught him off-guard that he and his new friend both had a relative that had the same name. Well, he used to. The blue hedgehog paused in eating his breakfast and slowly twirled his fork, which caught the attention of the three humans he was dining with, which began to make him feel uncomfortable.
"Sonic, are you okay?" Chris asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just...it's kinda funny that your Grandpa's name is Chuck." The fourteen year old muttered, almost too quickly.
"Why's that?" The twelve year old asked.
"You know of that name, young'un?" Ella asked gently.
Sonic shrugged with a small smile, his heart aching a little over the reminder of what he lost even though it has been years. "I had an uncle named Chuck. Heh, well, actually, his name was Sir Charles Hedgehog, but everybody always called him Chuck or Uncle Chuck. Long story short, he..."
He sighed, swallowed the lump that formed in his throat as the only ones who knew about his late uncle were his parents obviously, and Tails, Amy and Knuckles. "He died a long time ago. I was six when...well, I don't wanna talk about it."
The three humans were shocked to hear that Sonic, the apparently happy-go-lucky, brave, adventurous and caring but also dare-devil of a hedgehog, had a bit of a family history that resulted in him losing his uncle had such a young age, and that he suddenly looked so sad that talking about it still hurt him even to this day. Now Chris felt guilty since he had a relative that shared the same name as the hero's uncle.
"I'm sorry, Sonic." Chris whispered, feeling a lump in his throat and felt even more spoiled than ever before. He had a life of luxary which was boring, but he had a big family of parents, a grandparent and a uncle of his own, and he couldn't imagine of losing any of them or his friends. But for Sonic to lose his uncle that still hurt him today, it broke his heart.
"I believe it is I who should deeply apologize." Tanaka muttered, lowering his head. "You have my deepest condolences, Mr. Sonic."
"You poor dear. I can't imagine what you're going through." Ella said emotionally, tearing up.
Feeling the mixture of gratitude and wincing that he spoke out too much already about his uncle that it made Chris, Tanaka and Ella sympathize with him to which was making the really nice housemaid begin to cry, Sonic quickly sighed to calm his own nerves down and tried to regain his positive attitude.
"Aw, don't cry, Ella. And, thank you, all of you guys. I try not to let it get to me, but I do believe deep inside my heart that he's watching over me, and that he'd be really proud. I miss him, but I can't stay sad forever. He wouldn't want that." Sonic replied affectionately. "I wouldn't want anybody to lose family and friends in any horrible way."
"Very well said, young Sonic." Tanaka said, clearly impressed with the blue hedgehog's view on life. Chris and Ella both smiled at the teenager, even though they still felt sorry for him but decided not to push it any further, for Sonic's sake.
Yet none of them were aware that there was one little girl who was going through such a terrible case of losing a mother.
Feeling terrible for not going to sleep in her search for Sonic the Hedgehog, finding herself lost, alone with Cheese and afraid, Cream had wandered for an entire day and only slept under a blue Bi-Plane near the trees that had Sonic's name on it, being her only clue that he was nearby, before finally arriving in the human city of Station Square. Now she felt even more nervous as she had never seen so many humans before, and without her mother by her side, she didn't know who to turn to. Mobians, she could still kindly ask since she was used to living in such enviroment, but humans? They were all really tall and kept staring at her, so she politely said quick hellos and excusing herself before carrying on.
So far she had no luck in finding any blue hedgehog that matched the description of the hero of Mobius who she needed help the most.
"Chao, Chao, Chao..." Cheese muttered, clinging onto his friend as Cream held him in her arms very closely.
"It's okay, Cheese. We'll find Mr. Sonic. I'm scared too." Cream tried to reassure, both herself and her best friend, though she was more than just scared. It wasn't until she noticed a mall where there were a few Mobians entering and exiting the shopping mall. She felt an inkling of hope as she felt a bit more safer. "Look, Cheese! Maybe those people know where Mr. Sonic is. Let's go take a look!"
"Chao, chao!" Cheese, seeing this, cheered, before the young five year old rabbit girl hurried over to the store.
Inside the shopping center where people, mostly humans but also a few Mobians that were visiting in still quite a good number, it was packed. But in one clothing store was the familiar yellow and white two-tailed fox, Miles Prower, commonly nick-named Tails, who was sitting on a stool near the dressing room with a bored expression. The seven year old genius had his hands under his chin.
'I should've gone to Mom and Dad's house first so they'd know I'd be here to explore Station Square too and maybe find Sonic. Why did Amy had to go and drag me with her instead?' Tails thought to himself, as he had been dragged by his adoptive older brother's self-proclaimed girlfriend who, miffed that the blue hedgehog didn't invite her to come explore this amazing human city, took measures into her own hands and dragged the only other available pilot to take her here instead, determined to find Sonic.
Among other things, Amy Rose, the eleven year old pink hedgehog girl, decided to go for a 'change' and dragged the unfortunate younger Mobian here and now was trying out a new set of clothes since she decided that green and orange no longer suited her. Poor Tails had been stuck here for at least since this morning and now it was already 9 AM.
Finally the curtains pull back with a young girl's voice calling out in an almost sing-song tone. "Oh, Tails! Tada!"
When Tails looked up, he gaped in shock and surprise at the sight of his friend, only that he almost didn't recognize her. When Amy said she would go for a change, she wasn't kidding! No longer were her quills sticking up to nearly in front of her face, the pink hedgehog had it combed down to barely touching her shoulders, a few hair strains similar to his own but a bit thicker, her usual poofy green shirt and frilly orange skirt she replicated as she had grown were replaced by a red and white sleeveless dress with matching boots that went up to her knees, white gloves with golden wrist cuff-bands, and the only thing she kept was her red headband.
"Whoa! A-Amy!? Is that...is that you?" Tails exclaimed, stunned by his friend's new appearance.
"Who else? Meet the newly improved Amy Rose! Whaddya think? Isn't it so me?" Amy replied beamingly.
"I almost didn't recognize ya'. You look really great." The seven year old replied, standing up as he slowly began to recover from his shock.
"I knew you'd like it! From now on, this is what you'll be seeing me as." The eleven year old girl said happily, before sighing as she began to day-dream. "Sonic will so be head over heels when he sees me in my new outfit and hair-style! Then he'll marry me for sure!"
That only made Tails mentally groan. Of course that had to be the main reason why Amy decided to go through a hair and warddrobe change.
Moments later, Amy paid for everything she bought including her new outfit and whatever else she got before gesturing Tails, who was helping her carry bags, out of the store to shop some more.
"Uh, Amy? Don't you think we should find ourselves a hotel to get settled in first? We won't be able to find Sonic otherwise." Tails suggested, annoyed that he had to carry some of the things that were unnecessary.
"The hotel we're going to are to Sonic's room where he's staying at, and we're going to find him. He'll be so shocked he'll faint!" Amy said, determined to find her 'boyfriend' once and for all. She then grumbled and pouted. "I still can't believe he came to this without inviting me!"
"You know how he is. He likes to go and explore the new places all around Mobius." The two-tailed fox pointed out, only to gasp when he looked in front of him to see someone about to walk into his friend who was looking over her shoulder. "Amy, look out!"
"Huh?" Amy muttered, before she accidentally bumped into Cream who, unaware of her presence and looked around to ask someone about Sonic, stumbled and fell backwards, landing on the floor with Cheese almost flying out. The pink hedgehog stumbled before looking down at whoever it was she bumped into, angry at first and about to yell while starting to lose her temper, but froze and stopped herself when she saw that it was only a little girl who was about Tails' age.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" The pink hedgehog exclaimed, her anger vaporized instantly and bend down to help the young rabbit up.
"I'm alright. I'm really sorry, miss. I didn't mean to bump into you." Cream replied, feeling guilty for accidentally walking into Amy who held out her hand to help her up, and she kindly and politely accepted it, allowing the older girl to help her up, with Cheese still in one arm.
"No, no. It's my fault for not looking where I was going. I'm the one who should be sorry." Amy quickly reassured apologetically. She and Tails, who lowered the bags and approached, then got a good look at the five year old little girl and were quite surprised to see someone this young(though Tails was only seven years old himself and Amy being eleven), with an unusual but adorable little creature in her arms.
"It's alright. Thank you for helping me get up." The young girl said, smiling softly and sweetly.
"Chao." Cheese squeaked.
"Oh, you're so sweet, polite and cute, and your friend is adorable." Amy cooed, pleasantly surprised just how kind the younger girl was.
"Wow! Is that...a real life Chao?" Tails remarked, seeing Cheese.
"Tails! That's rude." The pink hedgehog scolded, making her friend rub the back of his head sheepishly, realizing his mistake.
"Sorry." The seven year old muttered.
Cream, instead of feeling insulted, giggled and instead answered Tails' question. "Mm-hm! This is my very dear friend Cheese the Chao, and my name is Cream the Rabbit."
"Chao, Chao." Cheese waved with a smile, already comfortable as he flew out of Cream's arms and flew around Amy and Tails, gently nuzzling at their faces, making them laugh and giggle.
"Nice to meet you, Cheese. You're so cute, just like your friend." Amy giggled.
"Hey, he's a lot more friendlier than the books say." Tails laughed.
"All Chao are. They can sense who are really nice, but they're not seen often." Cream happily explained.
"Well, then you're very lucky to have a friend like Cheese, Cream." Amy remarked, as Cheese squeaked before hovering back over to Cream's side, and the pink hedgehog introduced herself. "My name is Amy Rose. It's so nice to meet you, Cream."
"My name's Miles Prower, but my friends call me Tails." Tails added.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Amy and Mr. Tails." Cream said politely, giving the surprised duo a curtsy. She then gazed up at them and her smile faded a little, saying. "But um, could you help me? Cheese and I are lost and all alone in this city."
"Oh no. What happened?" Amy softly gasped, and felt sympathy.
"Did you get lost from your family?" Tails gently asked.
Cream shook her head, her expression becoming sad as she explained. "I'm looking for Mr. Sonic the Hedgehog. Something awful happened to my home village and...my Mom's in trouble."
"What!?" Amy and Tails exclaimed in shock, before sharing a concerned glance. If Cream came all this way as her village had been attacked somehow, plus her mother's in trouble to the point that the young child resorted to trying to find Sonic, then one conclusion formed into their minds.
Dr. Robotnik was back.
After breakfast, and deciding to hang around a bit at the Thorndyke Mansion, Sonic ran off to explore more of Station Square, completely oblivious of the arrival of his friends and a five year old damsel in distress, but kept his eyes peeled on the mysterious men who attacked last night, but so far he didn't find another peep or clue. He returned an hour later and was surprised that Chris offered him to stay around until he was ready to head home if he couldn't find a hotel still.
The two sat on the couch in the guest house near the garage with the TV on. Sonic was ignoring the news as he munched on the packet of chips, since the reports were mainly about the attack and his heroics.
"With many reports of Sonic the Hedgehog's heroics last night, the famous scientist of the astrology department, Dr. Kai Narasu, has been charged and fired last night for incorrectly coming to a conclusion that the hero of Mobius was a machine. There are still no new reports of the mysterious men who claim to not be working for the evil infamous Dr. Robotnik, but we will get back to you as soon as the reports come in. This is Scarlet of CGV News." A female news reporter said on the channel.
"I wonder who those weird bad people are? If they're not with that bad guy Robotnik, what do they want?" Chris said, worriedly with a frown.
"I don't have a clue either. All I know is that they're looking for somebody with a flying pet or whatever. I figured that it can't be a bird since there's billions of them of all different kinds. Got a bad feeling they're after something unheard of and I'm not fully convinced that they're not with Robotnik." Sonic replied, setting the packet on the table.
"Do you think those guys will keep hurting other people all over the world?" The young boy asked, nervously.
The blue hedgehog smirked. "Don't sweat it, dude. With me around to beat 'em up and teach them a lesson or two, it'll be a cinch!"
"I guess so." Chris sighed, before remarking. "I can't believe you out-beat the S-Team last night. My Uncle Sam never passes up in wanting to go really fast and he's very competitive."
"I'm just surprised that he's your uncle, and he did put up a good race." Sonic responded, having learned this before he left on his usual jog and exploring the human city even more.
"It doesn't make you...jealous, does it?" The twelve year old human asked, hesitantly as he was worried that him still having an uncle would make the blue hedgehog very upset.
Not missing the hesitation and knowing why his new friend looked and sounded uncomfortable, as they hadn't spoken anything more about Uncle Chuck, the fourteen year old hedgehog smiled. "Not at all. I hate to break it to ya', buddy, it's just how reality goes. Sometimes it's unfair, but I do my best to make sure Buttnik and other evil villains in the world don't get what they want or hurt other people. The downside, other than I can't swim, is that I'm not a psychic. I try not to let the past hold me back."
"You got a point." Chris replied, relieved and sympathetic. Suddenly the back door is burst open and an old man walks inside, wearing a lab coat.
"There you are! Guess what!? The famous Mobian hero Sonic the Hedgehog arrived in Station Square last night, saving the city from those unusual men and out-raced the S-Team!" The old man, revealed as Chuck Thorndyke, exclaimed in excitement, only to pause when he saw who was sitting next to his grandson.
"Uh, hi?" Sonic waved, awkwardly. He was also informed that Chris' grandfather was a scientist but a kind man, but the fourteen year old was weariy and now felt even more uncomfortable.
Blinking blankly, Chuck stared at the young teenage hedgehog, then at the TV where it showed more footage of the cobalt hero, then back again before his eyes widened in surprise and disbelief.
"Blue fur..." Chuck murmured, before gasping in shock and smiled and then grabbed Sonic who yelped, held up in the air in front of the old human man. "It's him! Sonic the Hedgehog!"
"Easy, Grandpa!" Chris protested, quickly standing up to try and help his friend.
"Hey, let go!" Sonic exclaimed, struggling to break free. "Put me down!"
"I've been wanting to meet you in person, young man. How are you capable of doing such an impossible feat as being able to break the sound barrier without hurting yourself?" The elder Thorndyke asked enthusiastically. "I must do some research and scans on you to find answers of your abilities! Perhaps even a sample of your quills or DNA or blood cells to help find an answer to all of this."
That made both Sonic and Chris horrified as the two gasped.
"Chris, help!" The blue hedgehog exclaimed, jumping out of Chuck's grip and backed away. "I thought you said your grandpa's a nice man!"
"Wait a moment, stand still." Chuck said, beginning to approach only to be held back by his grandson who pushed him onto the couch.
"Grandpa, what are you doing!?" Chris exclaimed, angered by his grandfather's antics.
"I just want to see how this young Mobian's able to have such an ability." Chuck replied, vaguely annoyed.
"You're scaring him! And hurting him too!" The twelve year old argued. "You can't just go and experiment on other people, let alone Mobians! Especially Sonic! I thought knew you better than that!"
Even though he began to feel a bit guilty for overreacting, the old man said more calmly. "I just want to understand how Sonic is able to run so fast, as it is impossible. I know Mobian all have unique gifts, but the young hedgehog's is just as incapable."
"I was born this way, and nobody ever questioned it. I already had a doctor ran scans on me when my family and I found this out and once we figured this, we just left it. Besides, I ain't gonna be anybody's science experiment." Sonic angrily explained, folding his arms as he glared at the older man.
Combined with the angry, insulted and a twinge look of fear in the blue hedgehog's emerald green eyes, and the furious and disappointed look on his grandson's face, Chuck now felt really guilty for frightening the teenage hero, given how he didn't seem to be comfortable with scientists due to his battles against the evil madman Dr. Robotnik and that the elder Thorndyke himself wanted to perform scans and experiments on Sonic all because of curiosity.
"I'm deeply sorry. I hadn't meant to frighten you. I suppose I let go to my head I didn't even think that it would cause such problems. Sometimes science goes to the heads of men like myself." Chuck sighed apologetically, now feeling terrible for his enthusiasm. "I forget about your battles against that cruel man Dr. Robotnik that science would make you uncomfortable."
Sonic was still on edge, but when he looked deeply into Chuck's eyes and saw that he was telling the truth, the blue hedgehog sighed as he relaxed a little as he scratched the top of his head. "I'm sorry, too. I know that not all science is bad, but fighting Robuttnik for so long, I don't like people experimenting on other creatures, whether they're human, Mobian or Mobini."
"Sorry, Sonic. I didn't realize that my Grandpa would do what he almost did." Chris apologized, feeling very guilty as well.
"It's okay. Kinda freaked me out but it's cool now." The blue hedgehog replied.
"Chris, when did he get here, if you don't mind my asking?" Chuck asked, relaxing a little himself.
"It's a long story. He landed in our pool which woke me up and I got him out. He's been here since last night." The younger human explained. "Sonic did got out to do some exploring before deciding to hang out for a little bit longer."
"It must have been very late if you couldn't find a hotel." The older human thought.
Sonic shrugged sheepishly. "Fighting those bad guys and racing against Chris' uncle pretty much delayed me, but all things considered, it's alright."
In Station Square...
Seeing that Cream needed their help, Amy and Tails agreed to have her tag-along while they now resumed their search for Sonic, this time more frantically as they took Tails' plane, the New Tornado, and flew across the city with Cream sitting on Amy's lap on the only second seat. The young distraught girl explained to them what happened, about the attack of what sounded like machines or robots, her mother hiding her and Cheese in the basement before being captured, and Cream's resolve to find Sonic to find Vanilla and the people that may also got captured.
"And that's what happened." Cream concluded her story, close to tears once again, with Cheese still in her arms.
"Robots attacking your village and capturing everybody...It must be Robotnik's latest evil scheme. Who else would cause that to happen?" Tails theorized, his eyes narrowing in shock, horror and anger over what has happened.
"That no good man! How could he sink as low as capturing an innocent girl's only family and everybody else in the village!?" Amy growled, utterly furious and upset. "I wish I could smack him so hard with my Hammer that he'll be sent off to the Moon!"
"But why would that horrible Dr. Robotnik take my Mom away?" Cream asked, tearfully.
The heart-broken and frightened look on the little girl's face instantly made Amy cool off as it broke her own heart, gently hugging her new friend. "I don't know, Cream. But it will be alright. Sonic will make everything okay. He always does."
"Amy's right. If anybody can rescue your mother, it's Sonic. All we have to do is find him, tell him what's going on and we'll find a way to save her. Before Robotnik causes anymore problems." Tails agreed with a sympathetic smile.
"O-Okay." The five year old nodded, sniffling.
'Poor Cream. She's been through so much and came all this way to find Sonic to save her mother. How could Robotnik do something as cruel as take a little girl's mother away? That creep has gone way too far!' Amy thought to herself as she cried to comfort her newest friend, who so far has been so sweet, polite and kind. If anything, Cream's mother must be just as nice since she raised her daughter so well, it's no wonder the little girl came all this way out of fear and love.
Unfortunately, things quickly went from bad to worse as down below, there was a loud boom which rocked the city and alarmed the three Mobians who cried out and looked down. To their horror, they saw a robot attacking the city, with many people, having not expected this to happen, beginning to run for their lives. The robot stepped on a car and crushed it, and the army were already having trouble in attacking it, the firearms and even a flamethrower from the SWAT team were useless. Flying behind it down below and unaware of the three and Chao, was an Egg Mobile with a familiar man in it.
Robotnik, having invaded earlier, looked rather disappointed at just how easy this was as he grumbled, his hand underneath his chin. "There's only one word for this invasion: Boring."
"It's Robotnik!" Tails and Amy exclaimed simultaneously.
Cream and Cheese could only stare down in horror, their eyes widened as the former could only remember what happened to her home village; the same attack, the same metal noise, people in danger. Her and the Chao's new friends were right; it was Robotnik's doing.
Back down below, the police tried to engulf the robot with the flame thrower again, but it didn't even have a scratch, much to their horror. Robotnik grinned and chuckled evilly.
"Our weapons are rendered useless! Fall back!" One officer exclaimed, causing his men and himself to retreat, which made the evil scientist rather annoyed at them already forfieting the fight, something that Sonic and his friends never did and they were Mobian children for goodness sake!
"You quitters! I can't stand quitters!" Robotnik snapped, before ordering his robot. "Missile Wrist, give them what they deserve!"
Missile Wrist began to open fire and chase after the policemen.
"Now, to give the people of Station Square a new broadcast to watch." The evil scientist snickered, pushing a button which almost instantly took over the monitors and TVs all across the city.
Back at the Thorndyke Mansion...
"And did you just call Robotnik 'Ro-butt-nik'?" Chuck asked, skeptically with disapproval, making the blue hedgehog simply shrug again.
"We interrupt this program with a state of emergency. A robot has started attacking the city, and reports believe is it caused by those men who attacked last night." The News blared, causing the three of them to turn back to the TV and saw, to their shock, new live footage of a robot attacking the City of Station Square, E-23 Missile Wrist, people running for their lives, the police and even the military being powerless and unable to stop it.
But then it became apparent that it wasn't sent by the men who attacked the previous night. Instead, as Sonic stared at the robot, there everybody saw, behind it, was the floating craft of the Egg Mobile, and the familiar evil round man with the ugly grin and over-sized mustache. Suddenly the screen changed from the News channel into revealing a projection screen that took over all TVs in the city and revealed Robotnik's face up close, causing Sonic, Chris and Chuck to gasp in shock.
"Robotnik!" Sonic hissed, his eyes narrowing. "So that clown's here after all. I knew it was only a matter of time before he showed up again."
"Greetings, people of Station Square. Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Dr. Ivo Robotnik, but I suppose you already heard of me, so I have exciting news. Well, exciting for me and catastrophic for you." Robotnik began with that hideous grin of his which frightened Chris and made Chuck angered and nervous. "Today marks the end of your pathetic little lifestyle and a new era, because once I trash down your beloved city, I will rebuilt it and soon it will be known as Robotnikland! Resistance is futile. You will submit to my rule, or be swept away like dust! Bwahahahahaha! Ah ha ha ha ha!"
"He's scarier than I thought." Chris remarked, sweat dropping.
"At this rate, the city will be overrun by that mad man." Chuck grunted worriedly.
"I'll take care of this. I'm used to taking down that Buttnik. You guys stay here." Sonic declared, determined to take down Robotnik once again.
"Sonic, it's gonna be dangerous!" Chris protested worriedly.
The blue hedgehog gave him a wink and a thumbs up with a smirk. "Don't worry. Leave it to me!"
Without waiting for a response, Sonic sped out of the room and slammed the door behind him, quickly making his way back to the city and stop the evil man. Chris and Chuck both just stood or sat there, stunned by the teenager's bravery and resolve.
"He's very confident." The elder Thorndyke remarked.
"And brave." The youngest Thorndyke added.
Back in the city, Robotnik was now hovering over a building while Missile Wrist made it's way up under his command to show off more destruction over Station Square.
"Oh, Sonic! Come out, come out, wherever you are, you little meddling rodent!" Robotnik called out in a sing-song tone.
Down below with the crisis going on and the police and military having trouble in combating the robot, a familiar fifteen year old red echidna, Knuckles, who was somehow in the city himself and looked quite angry yet determined, was venturing through the city when he heard what was going on. Looking up as he saw what was happening, his eyes narrowed as he recognized the evil scientist, only to also notice a familiar newish plane fly towards the building where Robotnik and Missile Wrist were.
"Robotnik! And...Tails? If they're there, then I guess Sonic is too." Knuckles grumbled, sensing that despite that he had his own agenda to worry about, he couldn't let the seven year old fox kid do the fighting by himself. Knowing what to do, he hurried over to the building and caught the elevator to make his way up.
Back up in the sky, Tails was debating on what to do, but knew that there wasn't much time and could only hope that he would gently drop Amy, Cream and Cheese off to safety before attempting to take down Robotnik until Sonic showed up.
"I'm gonna need to land you guys somewhere safe. It's too dangerous to keep flying like this." Tails informed the two girls.
While Cream nodded obediently as she was frightened out of her mind, Amy on the other hand protested. "No way! I'm going with you, Tails! You're gonna need all the time you can get until Sonic gets here!"
Unfortunately, Robotnik heard the familiar plane and looked up before growling in annoyance. "It's Tails! Alright, Missile Wrist! Take down that little twin-tailed brat's plane!"
"Affirmative." Missile Wrist responded in a monotone voice, taking aim at the New Tornado, which both Cream and Cheese noticed and gasped in horror.
"Mr. Tails, look out!" Cream screamed hysterically.
"Huh!?" Tails exclaimed, looking as did Amy and both gasped. "Whoa! Hold on!"
The seven year old kit maneuvered the plane to the left to try and dodge, but while they narrowly missed the missiles and shots, Tails ended up spinning out of control and causing the plane to spiral in mid-air as he, Amy, Cream and Cheese all screamed while holding on for dear life. To make things worse, the girls and Chao half slipped out of the plane and the large robot fired and stretched out it's fists, grabbing hold of the two girls and Chao and bringing them to it on the roof, holding them in a tight grip, much to his horror.
"Amy! Cream! Cheese!" Tails screamed out in horror, before being forced to fly back when the robot fired at him again. "I can't get a clean shot without hurting my friends! What'm I gonna do?"
"AH! Let us go!" Amy screamed out, struggling in the robots grip, while Cream and Cheese whimpered in the other grasp. "Get your robot hands off of my friends, you big bully!"
"Amy, I'm scared!" Cream cried.
"It's gonna be alright, Cream!" The pink hedgehog tried to reassure, though she felt like she was doing a terrible job. She had vowed to protect the young rabbit girl, maybe take care of her until Vanilla was rescued.
"Well, what do we have here?" Robotnik sneered as he hovered above them. "Is that you, Amy Rose? I must admit, that's quite a new dazzling look. And you have a new little friend. Playing with younger children now, are we?"
"You won't get away with this, Robotnik!" Amy shouted angrily, glaring up at the evil villain despite that she was terrified, but at the moment, for Cream and Cheese's sake, she had to put up a brave face. "Let Cream and Cheese go!"
"Please, let us go, Dr. Robotnik!" Cream pleaded fearfully. "Please give my mom go!"
"Chao!" Cheese cried out.
"Huh? Your mother?" Robotnik asked, now confused as he raised an eyebrow, eying on the little girl. "While I am surprised how polite you are, I have no idea what you're talking about, young lady."
"Don't play your dumb games, Robotnik! You attacked my new friend's village with your robots and kidnapped everybody including her Mom! She came all this way to find Sonic!" Amy shouted furiously.
The evil scientist growled, feeling insulted for being blamed over something he didn't do, though he was curious on who else would use robots. His thoughts then returned to the mysterious men and came to realize that there was another madman out there causing problems, doing what he would normally do, only what the little girl was claiming wasn't his doing.
"How dare you!? Okay, so I attack like that almost all the time, but this is the first attack I've done in six months since my last defeat, no thanks to that irritating blue boyfriend of yours!" Robotnik snapped.
"You're lying!" The eleven year old girl exclaimed, only for her, Cream and Cheese scream as the Missile Wrist tightened it's grip on them.
Robotnik grinned, before finally noticing what was in Cream's arms and behind his sunglasses, his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. His jaw gaped open in shock.
"A Chao? Where did that come from?" Robotnik asked himself, also wondering where in Mobius did the little girl get her hands on such a rare creature.
Just then, the doors burst open and everyone turned to see, to their surprise, was Knuckles who, seeing a familiar pink hedgehog but unable to believe it, stood there ready to fight.
"Knuckles!?" Amy exclaimed in surprise and relief. "You're here?"
"Amy? What are you doing here?" Knuckles demanded, unable to believe that his friend went through a change of appearance, and if it weren't for her pink colouring, jade green eyes, headband and voice, he wouldn't have recognized her at all.
"Knuckles, get us out of here!" The pink hedgehog screamed out.
"Hang on! I'm coming!" The red echidna exclaimed, deciding to worry about getting answers later and made to try and save his friend and the little girl that was also somehow caught into this. But he was forced to stop when Robotnik suddenly hovered in front of him.
"Not so fast, Knucklehead. One false move and these girls are finished." The evil scientist warned as Knuckles gritted his teeth in anger, before the evil man chuckled while snapping his fingers, the robot tightening it's grip on the girls and Chao who screamed louder.
Back down on the streets, Sonic was racing through the city trying to locate Robotnik and his robot, having witnessed and seen brief images of a familiar plane piloted by a just as familiar young fox and saw glimpses of two other people his adoptive little brother obviously met being captured. Finally he saw the building and spotted the tale-signs of his best friend's plane and the head of the robot. He narrowed his eyes and went faster.
"I'd better pick up the pace! Time for me to join the party!" Sonic declared, using his speed to make his way through at the speed of sound.
Back on top of the building, Knuckles was trying to figure out what to do in order to save Amy, Cream and Cheese.
"Leave Amy and that girl alone, or you'll regret it!" Knuckles threatened.
"I already regret in ever meeting you, stupid echidna! In fact, I regret in ever meeting your friends, especially Sonic! If it wasn't for that annoying hedgehog, Mobius would've been mine by now!" Robotnik growled, looking over his shoulder. "Speaking of which, I'm surprised that blue brat isn't here yet. Or perhaps he's on his way. This must be all part of a trap."
'I wish Sonic was here. There's gotta be a way to save Amy, Cream and Cheese somehow, even with Knuckles' help!' Tails thought to himself helplessly, only to notice a familiar blue blur down below, causing him to look and saw, to his relief, he knew what it was. Or rather, who it was.
Robotnik also seemed to notice as he looked down over his shoulder and to his dismay, was the familiar blue hedgehog now racing up a building and along and over the rooftops.
"Sonic!" Tails cried out in relief, flying over and flew beside Sonic who grinned, surprised to see his little brother.
"Hey, Tails! Ya' missed me so much you decided to follow me in one day?" Sonic greeted with a two-finger salute.
"Well, yes and no. I'll explain later and I'm sure Amy will tell you too, but right now, she and our new friends need help!" The two-tailed fox explained.
"Amy!?" The blue hedgehog yelped, his eyes in shock, a bit of horror and disbelief. 'Oh, great. Ames is probably mad at me for leaving her out of this vacation. Man, I'm so in big trouble when this fight's over. Gotta save her and our new friends first!'
"I'm gonna need a good position!" Sonic instructed, and Tails nodded before allowing the blue hedgehog to leap onto the plane's wing and they picked up the speed in airbourne.
"There he is." Robotnik growled darkly, before commanding his robot. "Get ready to fire. Kill that brat!"
Missile Wrist did as command, tossing the two girls and Chao aside to which Knuckles quickly caught but ended up being their landing pillow which made the red echidna fall onto the floor painfully. "Ow!"
"Oh! We're so sorry, Mister!" Cream exclaimed, as she, Amy and Cheese recovered, sitting on top of Knuckles as they laid on his stomach.
"I'm used to it, kid." The guardian of Master Emerald groaned.
In the meantime, the robot prepared to fire as Sonic jumped and used his Spin Dash towards it, only to be shot at by the missiles and caught in the explosion, much to his friends' horror and Robotnik's delight.
"Finally!" Robotnik sneered, only to gasp when the smoke cleared and Sonic spun right into the robot, causing it to stumble back while the blue hedgehog was perfectly unharmed. Angered by the teenager's survival, the evil scientist growled. "Get rid of him! Fire!"
The E-23 shot out it's wrists at him, but Sonic jumped and landed onto one before he began taunting it. He pulled down his eyelid and stuck out his tongue, before leaping onto the other wrist and slapped his bottom at both the robot and the evil man who was quickly getting more and more aggravated.
"Wise guy, I'll show you!" Robotnik growled as his robot continued to try and attack.
But Sonic was perfectly confident and unfazed as he played along, dancing and dodging on the wrists while Knuckles, Amy, Cream and Cheese watched on, the two girls and little Chao worried, though the two from the village were stunned in awe at the blue hedgehog's bravery. Cream knew then, without a doubt, that this was the famous Sonic the Hedgehog, the courageous hero of Mobius.
Knuckles then had an idea, knowing that both it would work and that his rival wouldn't miss the opportunity. "Sonic! Try the old Slap on the Wrist!"
Still dancing while having heard his friend, Sonic smirked as he got the idea and responded. "Yeah!"
So he stayed on the right wrist as it reattached itself back and the blue hedgehog gazed at the robot up close before pulling down his other eyelid and stuck his tongue out to taunt it. This made the robot aim it's attack, but the fourteen year old leaped off easily while it hit itself, causing it's right wrist to spark and explode. While Sonic leaped up into the air, Missile Wrist fired more missiles at it, and the blue hedgehog gasped when suddenly Robotnik flew in around the other Mobians, knocking Knuckles off-guard and grabbing hold of Cream and Cheese who screamed, also knocking back Amy.
"Cream! Cheese!" Amy screamed out in horror.
"Oh no!" Sonic shouted in horror, finally seeing that Tails and Amy's new friend was a little girl, five years old with a real Chao. Not only that, as he knew that Chao were known to fly, and Cream was it's owner, he came to a sudden horrified realization that maybe they were the ones who the creeps were after last night.
Who Robotnik were after for whatever evil scheme he came up with this time.
"Forfeit this fight or this child gets it!" Robotnik warned, holding a tight grip on the squirming rabbit and Chao.
"Let them go, Robuttnik!" The blue hedgehog demanded.
"Not a chance! Missile Wrist, FIRE!" The evil scientist roared.
"Look out!" Cream screamed out.
Sonic gasped as he saw the robot fire again, narrowing his eyes as he knew there was only one thing to do. He was then hit dead on by the missiles, much to his friends horror and Robotnik's delight. But then the blue hedgehog emerged once more, spinning towards the robot with a grin on his face and smashed it dead on.
"Bye!" He called out, crashing into it before using his speed to quickly dash towards Robotnik who couldn't even blink and the next thing the evil man knew, Cream and Cheese were suddenly gone, much to his shock. In the meantime, the robot exploded, forcing Knuckles to cover Amy as debris flew, the red echidna smirking that the blue hedgehog had once again done it.
"Yeah, all right!" Tails cheered as he saw what happened.
Sonic in the meantime landed safely on the floor, with Cream and Cheese, both unharmed and safe in his arms. Robotnik though, as the robot exploded, had been caught up in smoke and as it cleared, the evil doctor, in humiliation, was covered in soot as he coughed slightly with a groan.
"You lose, Robuttnik." Sonic declared with a smirk.
"This isn't over, blue boy! You haven't heard the last of Dr. Robotnik! Soon, I will rule Mobius! It will soon be mine!" Robotnik growled as he took off flying, retreating for now.
"You say that every time." The blue hedgehog muttered despite that he knew his enemy wouldn't hear him. Once he knew that the danger as passed for now, he gently set the stunned Cream and Cheese onto the floor. "There you go, kid. It's okay, you're safe now."
Recovering from her shock and fear, Cream beamed in amazement as she exclaimed. "Wow! You're really the famous Mr. Sonic the Hedgehog! Thank you so much for saving me and my friends."
To Sonic's and even Knuckles' surprise, Cream bowed slightly in deep gratitude as though she was taught to behave like a princess.
'What a polite girl.' Sonic thought to himself, shocked by how well mannered this young kid was that he was rendered almost completely speechless.
"Sonic! Oh, Sonic!" Amy suddenly came up and wrapped her arms around the startled blue hedgehog, hugging him too tightly and choking him a bit, much to Cream and Cheese' surprise. "I knew you were here!"
"A-Amy! Take it easy!" Sonic cried out, trying to squirm out of his self-proclaimed girlfriend's grip.
"I was so scared that you wouldn't make it!" Amy began to sob, much to the teenager's discomfort.
"Amy, please let me go!" Sonic pleaded, but was ignored.
Cream and Cheese stared at the two hedgehogs in confusion, while Knuckles rolled his eyes and shook his head. Suddenly there was the sound of a helicopter above them and when the four Mobians and Chao looked up, they were shocked that it wasn't the Military or anyone on their side. But it had an unusual symbol, while in the cockpit, the pilot scanned on all five them. More particularly, Cream and Cheese.
"Sir! I've locked in on the targets! There's a little Mobian rabbit girl and a little blue flying thing! Could they be the ones?" The pilot asked.
"Yes. They are the ones I am after. Capture them, and get rid of those who stand in the way!" The voice of Julius answered back.
"Yes, sir!" The pilot nodded, grinning evilly.
"Oh great, now what?" Knuckles grumbled, before he noticed the symbol and somehow recognized and he growled. "It's them!"
"Huh? Who?" Amy asked, nervously.
"Look out!" Sonic screamed as he scooped up Amy, Cream and Cheese as best as possible only for the impact of the missile net to explode and send the four of them off the roof while Knuckles onto this back. The three Mobians and little Chao screamed.
"Sonic! Amy!" Knuckles screamed out in horror, before growling in anger and charged up towards the helicopter, dodging more attacks and leaped up high, much to the pilot's horror. "First my Island and Master Emerald, now my friends! You'll pay for this!"
He punched the helicopter so hard that the propellers broke off and caused the chopper to spin out of control before he began falling himself. Tails called out to the red echidna and he landed onto it's left wing. The two Mobians nodded before staring down in horror as Sonic and the others continued falling. The blue hedgehog held onto the girls and Chao tightly, when Cream, being let go slightly much to the horror of the two hedgehog's she then grabbed hold of Sonic around his waist and began flapping her ears as hard as she could which slowed their descend until they stopped falling and, to their, Knuckles and Tails' surprise, began flying. The little girl, with most of her strength, began to slowly fly back up.
"Cream...You can fly!?" Amy exclaimed in disbelief.
"No way...!" Sonic murmured in awe.
"I kinda taught myself with my Mama." Cream explained, blushing a little with a giggle. Cheese cooed in relief and happiness.
"What can you not do, kid?" The blue hedgehog asked, smiling a little as he was very impressed and grateful that the girl he saved had saved him and the pink hedgehog. "Thanks a bunch."
"Sonic! Amy! Cream!" Tails called up, lowering his plane carefully enough for Cream to gently set Sonic and Amy on the right wing and landed herself into his right arm. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah, Tails. Thanks for the help!" Sonic replied.
"Hey! I helped too!" Knuckles protested.
The hero of Mobius smirked, "Thanks, Knux. Long time no see! What brings you to town?"
"Long story." The red echidna grumbled.
Sonic shrugged, before turning to Amy and finally noticed her change in appearance, which caught him by surprise. "Whoa, Amy! You...look totally different."
"Yep! Had a change of hair-style and wardrobe earlier today, to impress you! The newly improved Amy Rose!" The pink hedgehog proclaimed happily.
Even though Sonic sighed hopelessly as he knew the meaning of her words, which was her attempts to get him to marry her, he had to admit that he did like the new look. "Really like the new hair-style and outfit. I think it suits you better than the green and orange outfit."
Amy giggled and blushed happily, though she was disappointed that it still didn't make her 'boyfriend' fall for her, she decided that it was better than nothing. Plus, with Cream and Cheese still looking puzzled but now that the Robotnik situation was dealt with for the day, she instantly remembered the next part of the problem.
"Sonic, this is Cream and her Chao friend, Cheese. They came to Station Square looking for you." Amy explained quickly.
"Huh?" Sonic muttered, before turning to the aforementioned duo and asked the young rabbit. "You were looking...for me?"
Nodding, Cream then said to him. "I really need your help, Mr. Sonic. My Mom's in trouble. That mean Dr. Robotnik used his horrible robots to attack our village and took everybody away."
"What!?" The blue hedgehog exclaimed, shocked and horrified.
"Oh for the love of...! That creep! Just how much lower than he get!?" Knuckles growled, furious to hear what has happened.
"Guys, we need to find a place to talk more about this. You think we should set up camp where you plane is, Sonic? I spotted it when Amy and I came here earlier." Tails informed.
"Hold that thought, li'l buddy. I've got a better idea. I know a place where we can crash for a little while, and, given what's going on, it's probably a much safer place for Cream and Cheese." Sonic replied.
While Sonic didn't know what was fully going on, he knew at least one thing as the pieces were starting to come together. Not only Robotnik was once again a threat to Mobius...
But now Cream and Cheese were in grave danger.
A/N: Whew! That was a long chapter to do! Sonic and his friends have met up and finally meet Cream and Cheese, but the dangers are just beginning.
See you later!
