Hi everyone! My exams are FINALLY over, and this will probably be the last chapter I'll post before travelling in a few weeks. Also, I have finished tying my fanfiction account to my private email, and I'm getting a MacBook soon, so I'll be able to update chapters on that. Anyway, this is quite a long chapter, I'll only be updating once I get to Scotland cause I'm staying there for a month, (YAY!) enjoy! I know this doesn't seem that long, but it is quite lengthy in words.
Luna2023: OMG thanks so much! Ur literally my favourite and only reviewer at this point :D. Yeah, Keefe reading! Also, for some reason, your review didn't notify my email address, which it usually does…idk why.
Kotlcfan49: OMG I'm so sorry! Are you okay now? I really hope you'll enjoy this chapter:). PM me if there's anything I can do to help. It's really nice to hear from you after these months :).
Guest: I appreciate your thoughts, but just in case you only read till the fourth chapter, I said that I tried to make my chapters longer. I only didn't realise the chapters were so short because I was on google docs and a very long chapter on fanfiction is around 6-7 pages here.

Damon strode briskly until we were in front of a large tree. It's brown leaves and creamy bark were not Pures or wanderlings, so I assumed that this was a "human tree", and we weren't in the Lost Cities. But i reconsidered after Damon uttered something, a password maybe?- and the tree had a door in it. He opened it, and we walked slowly down a dark corridor.
I heard something behind me, and I turned around to see Brenne slumped against the wall.
"She's really tired from using her ability." Damon explained.
Sophie sucked in a breath, and whispered something that sounded like "what?".
"Boy, you carry her." he told me.
I picked her up easily and saw a flare of what looked like jealousy in Sophie's eyes. Could it be? This time I let my mind wander until we stopped.
Damon opened the door to an amazing mix of a lagoon, a meadow and a cave. Glittering jewels hung from the ceiling, and a huge lake shone in the middle, Damon rushed in and shoved us to a comfortable beanbag chair. He then picked up Brenne and lay her gently on a bed-veranda mix.
"Now," he said, "What do you want to know?"
"Everything." Sophie and I answered in unison.

Sophie POV
My mind was in turmoil. If my previous assumptions about Damon and Brenne being humans were correct, then how could she have an ability? I was also kiiiinda jealous about Keefe carrying Brenne, but for now, I had to get to the bottom of this mystery. A small voice at the back of my mind told me I couldn't afford to deny my feelings forever, but I ignored it.
Me and Keefe both opened our mouths at the same time.
"You go first," He said with a smirk.
I took a deep breath and said "FIrst things first. Are you guys elves or humans?".
Damon looked surprised I had asked that. "Well, it's a bit of a long story….-"
"That we will be MORE than happy to share." Brenne interrupted.
"Alright, alright, just be quiet. You two know about the Human Assistance Program?". He waited until we nodded.
"Well, Brenne and I were humans who realised that we were not alone as an intelligent species. That was when Aerin reached out. She told us about the Elvin world and the Human assistance Program and how the idea had been given up. That was, what, five years ago now? It turned out that she was part of a group that was actively working undercover to unite humans and elves together as one. As you now know, the Triumvate.". He paused.
"You guys got that?" he asked.
Keefe and I nodded, enraptured.
Brenne took over.
"We were hooked by then and began to work towards becoming a member of the Triumvate. We rose higher and higher in the ranks, and even though I'm from Norway, and Damon is from Brazil, we met and became friends, as you can see, we work quite often together.".
"Alright, next question?" Damon said.
"Woah woah woah. You can't just drop a bombshell like that and move on!" Keefe exclaimed.
I nodded. " So you guys are like a more diverse Black Swan?" I asked.
Brenne looked questioningly at me. "Who's that?".
Keefe and I exchanged a look.
"They're like you guys, but instead of doing something cool like the Triumvate and telling us everything, they're supposed to be working towards a better future or something? Also, they never tell us ANYTHING.". Keefe told them.
"Hmmmmm…" Brenne trailed off, peering at the crystals on the ceiling thoughtfully.
"Anyway," Keefe said," Do you know who mommy dearests mysterious friend is? The one with the cold voice.".
"That could be one of three of our leaders. They're all elves, as humans only have a limited lifespan, and we're okay with that. Part of uniting our species is accepting one another as leaders and feeling alright with that when we can't be that. Anyway, back on topic, before I tell you our leaders' names, you have to promise that what we have told you today will not be told to anyone. After we have consulted our leaders we will make more decisions, but for now, you have to promise us that." Brenne told us.
I glanced at Keefe. We both made a decision right there. In one movement, we nodded.
"Good. Now, our leaders are Feyrith, Connak, and Lixiss. Did the voice sound female or male?" Damon asked.
"I think it was more female than male." I said.
"It was probably Lixiss then. She tends to do more of the undercover work. Feyrith is usually the one meeting new members or meeting up with members, and Connak is a master at hand to hand combat." Brenne replied.
Damon chuckled.
"You seem surprised." He said.
"I thought elves couldn't handle that type of guilt." Keefe said.
"Usually no," Brenne agreed,"but he has a special ring (Ring? I don't know what I was thinking XD) that allows him to handle it for a short amount of time.".
"Now, Brenne, are you up to some walking?" Damon asked.
Brenne nodded.
"Where are we going?" Keefe asked.
"To go meet our leaders."
"Wait—one more thing. I'm interested, what are their abilities?" I asked.
"Lixiss is a Beguiler, Feyrith is a Froster, and Connak can absorb powers.". Damon said.
"Wait, that's an ability?"
"Yeah. I think it was so rare that he's the only elf that has the power. That's why he's so good at combat." Brenne informed us.
"We have to get going. Feyrith will meet you, but she's a busy person."
Keefe and I followed Damon, who had instructed Keefe to support Brenne again, along a path next to the lagoon. I felt another twinge of jealousy prick my consciousness. Damon put his hand against a large fiery crystal and muttered a few words in ….Brazilian? My Polyglot senses translated for me. It was still a bit too quiet, however, so I only caught the first part of the phrase.
The crystal started to glow, and a trapdoor with a ladder descended from the ceiling.
"Gotta say, your headquarters is MUCH cooler than the Black swan's," Keefe said.
He boosted me up the rope ladder and I climbed up to what looked like a cave, with a huge glass elevator in the middle. Once everyone was inside the cave, Damon and Brenne explained that their headquarters was a blend of human and elvin architecture.
As we strode into the transparent glass elevator, I had a bizarre feeling that I was entering The Great Glass Elevator from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. As we travelled up, I took a deep breath. This was bound to be interesting.
Biana's POV
"So?" I asked expectantly.
Tam frowned even more, forehead scrunching in concentration, but finally slumped in defeat.
"Nothing" He said.
Marella groaned and fell with a thump onto the warm grass.
"I don't understand. This should have worked." he said.
"Are there places your powers can't go?" Linh asked.
"I mean….maybe if they were deep underground…." Tam said reluctantly.
"Arghhhhhhhhh. We're never gonna figure this out!" Maruca said.
"All we can do now is wait." Linh said sadly.
I apologise profusely for the length of this chapter, but the next one WILL be longer, I promise. Next time I'll be updating, I'll be in Scotland! KOTLC React will maybe be updated next week depending on how busy I am, but it'll be up before I travel. Anyway, stay safe, happy, and keefe reading. (You guys know I'm not doing this one accident anymore XD)
