Episode 10: Jurassic Encounter.
It was a nice relaxing day over the ocean as the X Tornado flew across the ocean, with the Chaos Emerald still installed within the engine after it was rebuilt. Tails had a close call in nearly crashing it the previous night when he took it for a test flight and found that it had been his Emerald detecting the missing one, a light blue Chaos Emerald, but it was quickly stolen by Eggman who kept him and Knuckles, who had been in town, away from it. Sonic reassured his guilt-ridden best friend/little brother that they would get it back. As such, they decided to try their luck in locating another one while also keep on looking for the Iron Empire's actual secret base.
Sonic was relaxing on the wing of the X Tornado while Knuckles, not wanting to waste time as he wanted to find a clue in locating Angel Island, stood on the opposite wing, while Tails flew the plane, with Amy, Chris, Cream and Cheese in the seats as they decided to try out the location the blue hedgehog had spotted thanks to Ferrell's coordinates and for a little fun time, also to make sure that their youngest friends were within their sights at all times in case the Iron Empire planned an ambush.
"Are you sure you can actually trust this spider guy? For all you know, he could be biting behind your back." Knuckles questioned his rival, his arms folded while carefull not to fall off.
"He's my dad's old buddy." Sonic reassured nonchalantly, waving his friend off. "I wouldn't worry much. Sure I did land on his spider web and thought he was a giant spider monster, but he let me go and recognized me as Jules Hedgehog's son. Plus he's been pretty helpful and is a cool guy to hang out with. Kinda somebody for your expertise."
"Maybe so, but I don't trust him." The red echidna grumbled.
"Ah, your loss. On the bright side, We still have the Chaos Emerald Egghead couldn't steal." The cobalt speedster shrugged, chilling out and enjoying the breeze as they flew.
The Guardian of the Master Emerald groaned, getting more and more irritated by the second. "You never take anything seriously, do you?"
"'Course I do, the occasion calls for it." Sonic said smirking. "You just don't know how to relax or have fun."
Knuckles just groaned with a sweat drop as he deadpanned. "After what happened the last time, I gave up on the concept of entertainment."
"Suit yourself." The blue hedgehog shrugged.
As the two teenage Mobians were having their conversation, Amy, Chris, Cream and Cheese were talking about what their destination would be like as while the pink hedgehog and human boy and Tails, who was left to his own thoughts while focusing on the flight, were hesitant in letting their youngest friends to come along, they decided that a trip to another part of Mobius would be a good idea while hoping that there weren't any Iron Empire around despite that Sonic wanted to find the secret base while keeping an eye on the five year old and her Chao, the two-tailed fox gazed somberly at the green Chaos Emerald that was put into place and frowned in sadness, recalling the mess up he made last night.
Flash-Back:
Tails was flying the X-Tornado for a test-run by using the Chaos Emerald, but yelped when it began to wobble out of control before making an emergancy landing. Landing in an empty and closed off Stadium and seeing that Knuckles had also noticed, the two found a light blue Chaos Emerald, but before they could take it, Robotnik appeared with another robot and stole it despite the two's best efforts in taking it back.
"Give that Chaos Emerald back, Eggman!" Tails demanded while standing close to the X Tornado that still had his Green Emerald.
"It's Robotnik, and no, this Emerald is mine, as is the one you're holding! Hand it over, or else!" The evil scientist demanded.
"Or else what, ya' big loser?" Sonic's voice suddenly called, startling the three only to see the blue blur himself Spin Dash right over the two-tailed fox and red echidna who had been busy in taking out the robot, which it was then smashed into pieces the moment the hero of Mobius came, destroying the machine.
Sonic then landed safely on the ground and stood proudly. "So, you gonna hand over the Emerald or do we have do this the hard way?"
"I have a better idea." Robotnik grinned evilly, about to push a button when Knuckles leaped over to punch him, but he, Sonic and Tails, who were quickly joining in to attack, were knocked back when the mad doctor managed to sent out a missle, forcing the trio back and they hit the ground hard.
They hissed in pain before Sonic noticed a grabbing claw about to break into the X-Tornado, and he quickly dashed over to smash it into pieces, kicking it which broke it in half which made Robotnik growl before deciding to retreat.
"Hey! We're not done yet!" The fourteen year old shouted.
"You can keep that Emerald you have with you for now, but I'll be back for it soon. Until then, I've got this one in hand, suckers! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!" Robotnik laughed as he flew away in his Egg Mobile, while Tails and Knuckles recovered, and were dismayed that the enemy got away.
"Oh no! The Emerald!" Tails cried out.
"That's just great...You should've been more careful, Tails." Knuckles grunted, glaring hard at the seven year old fox who flinched at the furious tone the older Mobian held, before the two-tailed kit lowered his gaze to the ground.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to lose it." The young cub muttered, trying very hard not to cry, and flinched slightly when he felt a gentle touch of Sonic's gloved hand on his shoulder.
"It's not your fault, buddy. We'll get it back. We still have one Emerald ourselves. You did your best, and you guys are safe. That's all that matters." Sonic reassured optimistically.
While Tails thanked his best friend/big brother, he couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt, especially when the red echidna still looked angry and the young fox looked away. Despite Sonic's support, the seven year old had a feeling this was going to cause tensions between the three of them, more than ever.
End of Flash-Back:
Tails hadn't gotten much sleep since last night's disaster and even this morning when Knuckles decided to join the group for another clue on the Iron Empire's plans, the red echidna still gave him a look of disappointment which had the two-tailed fox avoid him in fear of getting badly scolded and despite Sonic reassuring him again, not even the blue hedgehog's optimism would be enough to cheer the despondent seven year old up.
'How could I have messed up so badly? We were so close in having two Chaos Emeralds, and Eggman just took it away. I wish I had been more careful.' Tails thought to himself miserably, feeling very disappointed with himself for messing up.
All of the sudden the alarms on the radar blared, alarming the two-tailed fox and the others. The seven year old gasped in shock and his eyes widened in horror when he saw a red blip blink and underneath the ocean a huge robot shark emerged from the water, which the sounds of the waves splashing caught Sonic and Knuckles' attentions as they both looked down before gasping in shock. For the blue hedgehog, he recognized it as the shark he'd seen the other day when Robotnik tried to drown him. But when he and red echidna got a good look at it, not only it was a robot, but also it had a similar symbol that didn't belong to the evil scientist, but rather his twisted and cruel brother.
"The Iron Empire!" Knuckles grunted in realization.
"That shark's one of Julius' robots! I should've known!" Sonic narrowed his eyes in anger, unable to believe he hadn't caught on properly, but then again he'd been so busy panicking and trying not to drown.
Realizing the danger they were all in, especially Cream and Cheese and began to wonder if they had fallen into a trap or something even though he didn't want to think that Ferrel was a traitor, the blue hedgehog quickly instructed his little brother. "Tails, full speed ahead!"
"Got it!" The two-tailed fox nodded, before instructing the others. "Hang on tight, guys!"

Watching this unfold through the Robo-Shark's eye-cameras, Julius could see his intended targets and grinned when it detected the little girl and Chao. "I've got you now, little girl. You and that Chao are mine. Jawz-1, fire the net and capture them! We'll deal with the hedgehog and his friends later!"

The Shark-Robot, Jawz-1, opened it's mouth as it then fired a missile-net upward towards the X-Tornado and flew above it before it opened up to descend and capture the group who gasped in horror.
"They're trying to catch us!" Chris exclaimed, panicking.
"I think they're gonna catch us since we have Cream and Cheese!" Amy screamed in horrified realization.
"What do we do?" Cream whimpered, really scared.
"Chao?" Cheese whimpered.
"They're gonna get us for Cream and Cheese!" Knuckles growled in realization, thinking that he was right about Ferrel the Spider.
"They can try!" Sonic narrowed his eyes, before smirking as he then jumped and used his Homing Attack, speeding towards it and breaking through the net which it ripped and shredded before it could even make an impact on catching the plane. When the Jawz-1 fired more missile nets to try again under the furious Julius' orders, the bleu hedgehog hopped and smashed them with his attacks of Homing Attack, Spin Dash and kicks and even making two nets collide with each other and each time missed him and his friends.
The red echidna in the meantime jumped and punched and bashed away more missiles while Tails, not wanting to fail again, maneuvered the X-Tornado after telling everyone to hold on and fired lasers at the other missiles that Sonic and Knuckles missed, and fired at the robot-shark as well. The lasers went inside the robot's mouth just before it had a chance to close and it exploded upon impact, creating a jet of water which sky-rocketed up while the two teenage Mobians smirked, the younger teen landing safely back onto the plane as everyone cheered. But the celebration was cut-short when suddenly the parts of the destroyed robot then came back together and regenerated back into it's original form, almost like it was never destroyed in the first place. It roared as it suddenly grew in size.
"No way! Not only it's like the giant robot in Cream's town but it can rebuild itself and grow too!?" Sonic exclaimed, as he and Knuckles sweat dropped in disbelief, while Tails and the others were all horrified.
"The Iron Empire's machines are more almost indestructive than Eggman's!" Tails exclaimed, his eyes widened in horror.
"Tails, make way for the island, quick! There's no way we can beat this thing in midair!" The fourteen year old quickly instructed, coming to the hard decision that they had to retreat for now as he didn't want Cream and Cheese, or the rest of his friends for that matter, to end up in the clutches of Julius and felt like kicking himself for agreeing to let the two to come along for the little adventure.
Just then they heard an annoying laughter from above which they all recognized and looked up to see Robotnik in his Egg Mobile along with another robot that looked like a giant...Pelican with hawk-like claws and a rocket-net of his own.
"It's him again!" Chris, Tails and Amy chorused in frustration.
"Dr. Robotnik!" Cream exclaimed in fear and annoyance, with Cheese waving a hand as he attempted to tell the evil scientist to go away in Chao language.
"This is getting on my nerve!" Knuckles hissed in irritation and anger.
"Oh ho ho ho ho ho ho! Good afternoon, little pests! Hope you're enjoying the ray of sunshine, because it'll be the last you'll ever see!" Robotnik declared grinning down at the group who glared up at him.
"Not now, Eggman! We're busy with your Ro-butt-nik brother's fish-bot at the moment!" Sonic shouted in irritation.
While the evil scientist did cringe at the fact that his brother attacked first, he let it slide as Robotnik responded. "All the more reason to catch you off-guard, hedgehog!"

Within his secret base, Julius saw what was happening and growled in fury. "Not Ivo Eggman again! That second-rated scientist is getting in the way!"

"E-39, att-!"
Robotnik didn't get the chance to finish as even when his robot made to fly down to capture or destroy Sonic's group, at the same time the Jawz-1 Robot fired another missile with the wrong calculation. Because the net opened up above the robot and while Tails quickly made the X-Tornado fly faster to avoid in getting caught, the same wouldn't be said for the E-39 robot which was then caught in the net before being sucked in and pulled into the robot, left helpless to break free.
"...ack?" Robotnik finished awkwardly with a sweat drop.
"Now's our chance! Hang on!" Tails instructed his friends as he used the distraction of Robotnik and Julius' robots now into another war with each other. The seven year old kit accelerated the plane towards a large continent island and making for the forest just in case.
Unaware that within the jungle, speeding through the trees while riding on what it appeared to be a high-tech hover-board was a a green hedgehog close to Sonic's age, maybe a bit younger with shaggy quills, peach arms, muzzle and chest, sapphire blue eyes, white gloves with a silver circle on the back and black cuffs, white and black vest and black boots who was having the time of his life, until he heard engines above the trees and looked up, maneuvering his board to a stop and looked to see the X-Tornado fly past him.
"Huh? Whoa, what's with that super cool rocket-plane?" The green hedgehog thought to himself, before smirking in excitement. "Whatever it is, it's not as cool as my Extreme Gear, but I wanna check it out!"
Deciding to investigate, the young Mobian thrust his Extreme Gear into full-speed to catch up to the plane.
Back out at the ocean, Robotnik's E-39 Peli-Hawk was swallowed by Julius' Jawz-1 who gobbled it up, but it did cause a few problems as due to having engulfed another robot and unfortunately it's claws digging into the power-source which was the only true way of destroying the Iron Empire's machine which caused it to malfunction and started to explode. But not before the furious evil scientist growled before hovering a bit closer but still in a safe distance.
"Julius, you meddling, back-stabbing and cold-blooded buffoon! Your dumbot just ate my latest creation, and also stopped me from getting rid of Sonic and his friends! I'll get you for this, you murderous beast! Just you wait!" Robotnik shouted angrily in a major tantrum, and his brother could see and hear everything that was said.
Though the moment 'Eggman' finished, both E-39 and Jawz-1 exploded which set off another sky-rocket pulse of water, which the evil scientist was too close to and it's blast was enough to make him lost altitude and sent flying straight towards the island as he screamed, hanging on for dear life before he crash-landed somewhere in the jungle and a bit far away from the Unnamed Village of Seaside Island itself.
Not even a minute after Julius witnessed his brother's tantrum of a message, the reception lost it's signal the moment the two machines exploded, thus he didn't see what happened to Robotnik, but was beyond furious and punshed his desk so hard that it once again broke in half, being the at least 50th desk he'd broken with his bare hands in the last month since Sonic and his friends came into the picture. Not to mention that he has to also deal with a not-so-ghost from his past.
"You were the one who interrupted my kidnapping plot, Ivo! Childish, idiotic, and brainless clown!" Julius roared in fury, picking up one half of the broken furniture and tossed it right at the monitor's screen which was then smashed and shockingly it passed through it as well as the wall where it was sticking out on the other side.
When it did as two Iron Empire men were passing by for a coffee break and they saw what happened, they froze in their tracks and reared back in fright while they screamed, clinging onto each other. Didn't take a smart person for them to guess what just happened and, fearing for their lives, scurried back to where they came from back to their posts to continue their work to prevent themselves in facing their leader's terrifying wrath.
Breathing and panting hard as his face was bright red and turning black in fury, Julius mentally forced himself to calm down before pushing the intercom button on the other half of the desk which was still in function.
"Orders, Sir?" A male soldier's voice instantly responded commandingly.
"Sonic the Hedgehog, his friends, our prisoner's daughter and Chao and Dr. Robotnik are located in the jungle on Seaside Island. I want you to activate Gizosaurous, bring me the child and her pet, and destroy the rest as well as the island itself." Julius explained the situation and ordered.
That shocked the soldier on the other line as he began to protest. "But sir-!"
"Just turn it on and bring me the little brat and her Chao, NOW! Or else it's execution for you!" The evil Iron Empire Leader roared impatiently and dangerously.
"Y-Yes, sir!" The soldier trembled in fear, before the communication ended, and the evil man hissed darkly before turning back to his window.
"If that hedgehog is heading for the island, he must be searching for my secret base, only he cannot. But if he and his friends keep on searching, they will find us for sure. I must get that child and her Chao and all of the Chaos Emeralds." Julius growled darkly, his corrupted eyes narrowing and glowing in a crimson colour, the blackness around it becoming darker as though it was beginning to pour with dark mists.
Having had a close call with both Robotnik and Julius, the group had landed the X-Tornado in the middle of a peaceful opened field surrounded by mountains in the distance and jungles all around, before all hoping out and looked around their surroundings. While Cream felt guilty for asking to come along, the others reassured her that it wasn't her fault and that they should've thought better, but decided to worry about that later.
Instead, after Tails did a few fixing adjustments on the X-Tornado and made sure that the Chaos Emerald was secured and out of sight, he scanned the Island's map with Sonic and the others gazing around or relaxing a little. Sonic and Chris were both reclining and leaning against two trees, the former having his hands behind his head and one leg over the other, Amy, Cream and Cheese were admiring the stray patches of flowers and flickies in the trees, and Knuckles was standing while looking around with his arms folded to his chest.
"Sure is really nice here." Chris remarked, enjoying the sunlight as well as the shade and breeze.
"You said it, Chris. Kind of reminds me of Green Hill back on South Island." Sonic agreed with his eyes closed, taking in the pleasant feeling that mother nature was giving. Though he did open them and gazed at the girls and Chao nearby, giving out a worried expression that he attempted to hide. "Still...It wasn't a good idea to bring Cream and Cheese along, especially if there is a clue to the Iron Empire's secret base and now that he knows we're here."
"Yeah, you're right. What were we thinking? Grandpa, Mr. Tanaka, and even Ella tried to warn us." The twelve year old boy muttered with a sigh. "Some friends we make."
"Yeah, it's not easy looking after little kids. No matter how sweet, polite, kind and cute they are." The blue hedgehog agreed. He really did adore Cream, liked her so much even. She was almost like a girl version of Tails.
"Look at all of these beautiful flowers." Cream remarked happily to Amy and Cheese.
"It would be nice to explore the whole place, wouldn't it?" Amy agreed.
"Chao, Chao." Cheese squeaked, hovering about playfully over the flowers.
"Hey, guys." Tails spoke up, getting everyone's attentions as they saw him look up. "I've detected an old building that matches that of the blueprints and the coordinates Ferrel gave Sonic. It's about at least ten miles from where we are."
"Only ten miles?" Sonic scoffed as he stood up when the blue hedgehog and everybody else approached the two-tailed fox. "I can get there in less then ten minutes."
"Where is it?" Knuckles asked, ignoring what the hero of Mobius just said.
"If we pass through the jungle to our right, we'll be able to see tale-signs of the abandoned building, though it could be pretty dangeorus. It's best to look from both the air and on the ground." The seven year old fox explained, pointing at the directions on the map and then into the direction to his right.
"I'll take the ground while you guys take the air. Just make sure all of you guys are safe and stay out of Julius' radar as possible." The fourteen year old hedgehog instructed, before asking the older Mobian. "You wanna come with me, Knux, or you want a ride on board the X Tornado?"
Before Knuckles could answer, a new voice spoke up. "Whoa! Didn't expect to have visitors with a really cool airplane and with the famous heroes!"
Blinking in confusion, Sonic and his friends turned to see an unfamiliar green hedgehog who had leaped off of his Extreme Gear and approached.
"Who are you?" The red echidna demanded.
"Knuckles, I think he's one of the locals that live here." Tails stated with a guess.
The Guardian of the Master Emerald glared at him which only made the two-tailed fox flinch a little before the latter muttered an apology and looked away. It was a stark reminder that even though he managed to get all of them away from Robotnik and Julius, Knuxkles was still mad at Tails for what happened last night, much to Sonic's disapproval as he harshly elbowed the older Mobian in the ribs which made the fifteen year old glare at him now, but the fourteen year old chose to ignore it.
Sonic then turned his attention back to the green hedgehog who continued with a look of excitement, "Are you Sonic the Hedgehog? And is that Tails, the two-tailed fox who helped you out with Westside Island and what's going on in Station Square?"
"That would be us." Sonic replied winking, placing an arm around his little brother who, a bit flattered by the compliment, smiled softly with a small wave. "Guess you saw us fly over here, right?"
"Yep, sure did! I saw this awesome plane while I was riding out on my Extreme Gear, and thought I'd check it out. I've never seen anything like it! It looks almost as fast as you, blue dude!" The green hedgehog nodded.
"You can thank Tails for this baby." The blue hedgehog chuckled.
"It's not much. I just rebuilt it from it's original model and it can fly at the maximum of 300 miles per hour." The aforementioned fox explained, bashfully scratching the back of his head.
"Whoa! When they say you can build and fly anything, they weren't kidding! I might have to rebuilt my Gear to make it go faster." The green hedgehog remarked in awe.
"Hold on. Extreme Gear?" Sonic asked, curiously.
"What's an Extreme Gear?" Chris asked.
"You mean you don't know?" The Seaside hedgehog asked, before explaining while gesturing at his hoverboard. "These babies are for riding and flying for the Grand Prix of the Extreme Gear. It's a race where people can ride them and compete on the other side of the planet. The most famous racer is Manic the Hedgehog, the coolest racer in Mobius! People seem to think that he looks just like me!"
"That sounds way past cool, and a lot of fun." The blue hedgehog remarked after whistling.
"You bet it is! I wanna be the world's greatest Extreme Gear Champion, just like Manic!" The green hedgehog declared, before introducing himself. "My name's Manfred Milestone, but everybody calls me Manny."
"Great to meet ya', Manny." Sonic greeted.
"Thanks." Manny the hedgehog replied, before turning to the pink hedgehog of the group. "You must be Amy. I heard you can do a lot with that magic hammer of yours!"
"Thank you, Manny. I didn't think I was famous just like my boyfriend Sonic." Amy happily said, which made the aforementioned blue hedgehog roll his eyes in exasperation.
"My name's Chris. I met Sonic and everybody here a few weeks ago." Chris introduced himself.
"My name is Cream, and this is my special Chao friend Cheese." Cream added, with Cheese squeaking in a way of saying hello.
"And this here is Knuckles the Echidna. He tagged along for the ride." Sonic gestured at Knuckles who just waved silently.
"Hey there, guys. So, what brings ya' to Seaside Island?" Manny responded.
That caught the group off-guard as they shared a glance, wondering if they should mention about their reason being here or not. Even again, with Robotnik and Julius still out there looking for them, or more particularly, the latter looking for Cream and Cheese and both the evil men looking for the Chaos Emerald, they realized that they had inadvertently brought danger to Seaside Island.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the jungle on the island, Robotnik was lying on the ground with his Egg Mobile out of commission safe for the communicator which was his only way off of this place, groaning in defeat and sheer annoyance.
Sitting up with a growl, the evil scientist then ranted. "That Julius thinks he's so smart...! What does he want with that little brat and her Chao anyway? There is not possible explanation that they are connected with the Chaos Emeralds! I'll show him, and get rid of Sonic if it's the last thing I do!"
As Robotnik stood up to begin a new plan like attempting to find a way out, he heard a familiar sound of engines running above him and looked up to see another Egg Mobile with Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun piloting it...or at least trying two as the three robots were fighting each other over the controls.
"I wanna drive!" Bokkun ranted childishly, having a tug of war with the taller robots who struggled to regain them.
"No way, Bokkun! You can't drive to save your batteries!" Decoe snapped.
"You're going to make us crash!" Bocoe added. "If we do so, then we'll be stranded on this island with Dr. Robotnik!"
"You two are the ones who are lousy drivers for robots!" The messenger bot argued angrily.
"Why couldn't you just fly by yourself? You have your jet-pack!" The grey robot pointed out.
"That's right! You should be thankful that Dr. Eggman-I mean, Dr. Robotnik has put in jets in you! We can't even fly!" The tall yellow robot agreed, while quickly correcting himself for making the slip of the name.
"The jet-pack exhausts my engines and I end up needing more food than you two clowns do!" The short robot pointed out in return.
Having had enough of their arguments since his robots were about crash their only ticket back home, Robotnik yelled out to the trio from the ground. "Will you three dumbots stop arguing? Just land that Egg Mobile gently and get me out of this boring island!"
"Sorry, Dr. Robotnik." The three robots chorused quickly, finally noticing their creator despite that they still struggled to gain control over the Egg Mobile without breaking it.
"What took you so long anyway?" The evil scientist demanded once they landed, with a bit of a bump that nearly made them fall out. "I've sent you here to investigate for anymore Chaos Emeralds this morning!"
"We were looking for the Chaos Emerald, but we couldn't find any. The one you took from Sonic and his friends is all we have." Decoe explained.
"But we did find something that we really should be getting away from, and you won't believe us when you hear this." Bocoe continued, sounding nervous.
"This place doesn't just have people on it, but something else; something bigger." Bokkun added.
Flash-Back:
Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, having been sent by Robotnik a few hours ago, were looking around as they flew in the Egg Mobile with tired expressions while looking for any traces of anymore Chaos Emeralds, but couldn't find any. The smallest robot yawned in boredom, his hand under his cheek.
"Can we go home now? This is boring." Bokkun grumbled, ready to fall into his sleep mode.
"I am not detecting any signs of the Chaos Emeralds. Perhaps they are not located anywhere here on this island." Decoe informed while ignoring the smaller robot's whining.
"I agree. We should return to inform Dr. Robotnik and search somewhere else." Bocoe replied.
Bokkun then complained loudly. "Can we go to the island's Meh Burger restaurant? I'm starving!"
"Oh, please do be quiet, Bokkun! You're giving us both a headache!" The two taller robots moaned in exasperation, both wishing that they left the smallest robot behind at Robotnik's Island Base.
Just then there was a loud stomping sound which shook the ground, and when the three robots looked up to see the leaves rustle in a rhythm, they blinked in confusion even as birds flew out of the trees in fright.
"That wasn't my tummy..." Bokkun quickly murmured.
"It can't be an Earthquake." Decoe stated.
"Dr. Robotnik didn't sent another E-series here, did he?" Bocoe asked, worriedly as he began to suspect that something bad was about to happen.
Now nervous as the stomping seems to be getting louder and louder, coming from their left, the three robots slowly looked to see and their eyes widened in sheer horror and disbelief to see something emerge and tower over the trees. It was a giant dinosaur, a brachiosaurus to be precise, and it looked to be rather angry when it saw the trio.
"A DINOSAUR!?" Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun exclaimed in horror, bewildered.
"This is impossible!" Decoe shouted.
"I thought those guys were extinct!" Bokkun exclaimed, shakily.
"Maybe it's a robot created by the Iron Empire and made it look to be very convincing!" Bocoe suggested fearfully.
When the brachiosaurus made a loud moaning sound, stomping once more, the three robots screamed in terror before quickly deciding to leave and put the Egg Mobile to full speed ahead to make a run for it, flying away to find Dr. Robotnik in case he was here waiting for them already.
End of Flash-Back:
"And that's what happened." Bokkun concluded, shuddering. "I can't believe that there's a dinosaur that's still alive or if it's a robot those Iron Empire guys made."
Robotnik stared at the three of them skeptically with his arms folded to his chest, before saying to them as he didn't believe their story. "You three have been watching too much of that ridiculous fake documentry show behind my back."
"It's the truth, doctor!" Decoe protested.
"We wouldn't lie to you at a time like this!" Bocoe added.
"It was a brachiosaurus, yet it looked very angry like we have crossed it's terrority." The yellow robot continued.
"Or the more likely note it is a robot and Julius is out to kill all of us!" The grey robot exclaimed.
"I've encountered Julius' shark robot that attempted to catch Sonic and his friends on my way here when I attempted to destroy them, and instead that piece of junk destroyed my E-39! And Dinosaurs cannot live to survive after billions of years! Everybody knows that." Robotnik pointed out, still finding this unbelievable.
Not even a second when the words left his mouth that the ground began to shake and vibrate, step by step it seems which confused the evil doctor and once again terrified his minions who looked back and flinched.
"Then what do you call that!?" Bokkun exclaimed fearfully, pointing at where he, Decoe and Bocoe came from.
Robotnik looked up and saw, to his utter disbelief and horror while wondering if he was having some sort of nightmare, the brachiosaurus itself, walking towards them with an expression that told him that it was furious somehow and, despite the latter claim which supposed made sense, for some reason his insides were saying that it was the opposite and in the most impossible way, it was indeed a living and breathing dinosaur.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Robotnik and his robots' screams were echoed through out the whole jungle, if not the entire island.
After Sonic and his friends decided to tell Manny what was going on and why they were here while apologizing for bringing trouble to the island, the green hedgehog, despite being shocked, kindly offered to help out with the problem and rode on his Extreme Gear next to the X-Tornado with Knuckles once again on the wing while the blue hedgehog sped through the jungle on the ground.
"Man, that's really rough. I can't believe Robotnik has a brother who caused all of this. Why would that guy want a kid like Cream and her Chao when they're extremely rare?" Manny wondered, still in shock on what he heard.
"That's we're still trying to figure out. Julius seems to believe that the Chao have a powerful connection with the Chaos Emeralds as well as the Master Emerald." Tails replied.
"He's just as dangerous as Eggman, so it's no surprise that he sent that shark robot to capture us." Knuckles grunted.
"Do you think Sonic will be okay by himself down there? What if he gets lost without a phone?" Chris asked, worriedly as he felt uncomfortable about the blue hedgehog running around in an unfamiliar place.
The red echidna scoffed and waved dismissively. "He'll be fine. Sonic's not one to panic whenever he gets lost."
"He's right, Chris. Sonic always finds his way no matter where he goes." The two-tailed fox reassured, before looking away to avoid in seeing the Master Emerald Guardian's annoyed and still angry gaze, while thinking to himself. 'I hope you are okay, Sonic. And we don't end up facing Julius or Eggman again today, either.'
While on the ground, Sonic sped through the trees and leaped from branch to branch, racing over a log and easily avoiding in getting attacked by a school of piranhas that were over-sized and jumping out of the water to eat any who attempt to cross over the log bridge. It wasn't long before he eventually spotted something in the new clearing of the forest and came to a stop once he exited the trees.
Up against a canyon wall was a large secret base that was similar to the one the blue hedgehog had discovered which was where Ferrel now lived. It looked older and more worn down, but there was no doubt that it was yet another abandoned base. Why this one was abandoned, he had no idea.
"Well, this is it. Let's hope that this is the right place this time." Sonic said to himself, before narrowing his eyes as he knew he had to take down this base before the others got here and end up walking right into a trap. "Watch out, Ju-Loser Ro-butt-nik! Here comes your worst nightmare!"
But before he could even burst into the place despite that he had a feeling it was yet another dead end, the fourteen year old heard a very odd high-pitched moaning sound, like something or someone was squealing in fear and in pain.
"Hm?" Sonic murmured in confusion, turning to his right to look for the source of the noise. "What's that sound?"
Curious while on alert, the blue hedgehog walked over carefully towards the thickness of bushes which rustled in movement and he quickly became on edge. Thinking that maybe it was some kind of animal while hoping that it wasn't a robot leading him into a trap, Sonic approached more slowly and carefully pulled away the bush's leaves to investigate. What he saw made him gasp in shock, disbelief and awe.
There whimping on the ground lying on it's side, was a dinosaur; An actual dinosaur, and a brachiosaurus at that. Except this one was about two inches taller than the hero of Mobius, looking very quite young as though it was just a baby. In fact, despite that he wondered if he was having some sort of dream, it looked no older than at least two months old or something.
"No way...! A dinosaur? I thought those guys were extinct." Sonic whispered, careful not to frighten the infant dinosaur. What also concerned him was that what was the baby doing out here, and where it's family was. Or maybe this was a robot or, the more horrible thinking, was this some kind of an experiment to clone animals or something?
Either way, he felt sorry for it as little thing, well, it was bigger than him, but still, looked so scared and alone. It broke the blue hedgehog's heart as he could see that the poor baby was motherless, just like Cream was. It reminded him of what he promised and seeing this made him want to find Vanilla even more. Yet at this moment, he couldn't just leave this dinosaur all by itself alone in the wilderness where it can easily be killed or hurt or even captured. Nodding to himself, the hero of Mobius carefully stepped through the bushes, which he cringed as it made too much of a noise that it alerted the baby brachiosaurus who looked up and it's eyes widened in fear upon seeing him.
"Hey, little guy." Sonic greeted gently, even as the baby tried to get up while whimpering in fear, so he stayed his distance and continued to speak to it softly. "It's okay. Don't be scared, I won't hurt ya'."
The blue hedgehog carefully approached the terrified infant, before he knelt on one knee and spoke to it. "I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm a friend and I wanna help you."
While the baby still looked scared and not fully trusting the cobalt Mobian, it began to settle down when it saw that he was very friendly and gentle, that he carefully reached out and gave it a smooth and comforting pat on it's long neck. Even with his gloves he could feel that it's skin was nice and smooth, warm to the touch and he knew in that instant that the baby dinosaur isn't a robot. It then winced in pain which made Sonic gasp and pulled his hand away, wondering if he somehow accidentally hurt it until he noticed that it struggled to stand up and it whimpered and wailed in agony as it attempted to stand up, but winced.
When his eyes trailed down to see, they widened as he saw the problem; a hand-sized thorn was stuck on it's front right leg which made sense on why the baby was in painful discomfort.
"Poor kid." Sonic muttered, before saying to it reassuringly. "Here, let me get that out. It's going to hurt for a bit, but I promise you'll be better in no time. Think you can hold still for me?"
The baby, not understand what he was saying but somehow could see that he wanted to help, whimpered with tears in it's eyes which had the blue hedgehog comfort it. He then went over to the right leg and as carefully but firmly and quickly as possible, even as the kid wailed and squirmed which made him yelp before telling it to take it easy and that it was almost out, he eventually managed to pull the thorn out and was relieved that there was no serious injury or blood coming out. The stinging sensation the baby dinosaur endured then faded away and it blinked in surprise that it was feeling better already.
"There you go." Sonic reassured it, throwing away the thorn and said to it with a warm smile and a wink. "See? Doesn't it feel a whole lot better?"
Stunned by the blue hedgehog's act of kindness, the baby was no longer afraid of him and instead it smiled before it experimentally stood up to find that it didn't hurt anymore while he stood up a second later. Grateful and happy, the baby brachiosaurus squealed before nuzzling him on the face and licked him on the cheek as a thank you kiss.
"Whoa, hey! Easy there, boy. I love you too." Sonic laughed, happy that the dino-kid was a whole lot better and trusting. "You're pretty darn cute, for a baby dinosaur. I've never seen one up close before."
His new friend beamed at him happily, only for both of them to hear a loud sound of booms and roars from where the blue hedgehog had come from, alarming both of them as they looked to see what was going on, but it was in a distance that he had no idea what was happening. The baby dinosaur whimpered in fear and nuzzled close to Sonic who narrowed his eyes as he felt that his friends were in danger.
"Something's wrong. Sure hope the others are okay." Sonic muttered to himself, before turning to the baby and told it. "Wait here. I'll be right back, I promise."
Giving it a final gentle pat of reassurance, he was about to dash off when his new friend moaned up ahead, confusing him before yelping when it blocked him from leaving and had him brought close to his body.
"Hey, wait! I can't stay! Please, let me go!" The blue hedgehog cried out, only for it to gesture at him before returning it's gaze to where he came from, as the loud roar echoed once more and it tried to do the same. It was then he realized what this meant. "Are you trying to tell me your Mom's out there?"
The baby dinosaur nodded with a sad and worried look, making the teenage Mobian become worried himself, and while he felt that it would be too dangerous to take it with him to whatever's going on, he remembered that Cream and the others were out there too which made him fear for their safeties.
"Well, if you want me to take you to her, then how can I saw no? It's gonna be dangerous, and I don't want to put you into any harm's way. Just a fair warning, we're about to go really fast." Sonic cautioned it, and while he wasn't as strong as Knuckles, he was still pretty strong as he managed to lift the young brachiosaurus even as it felt heavy to him, but he ignored it. "Here we go!"
Keeping his grip on the infant, Sonic then raced forward in a sonic boom which made the baby, scared at first, begin to enjoy the really fast ride as he hurried back to where he came from.
"We're getting pretty close to the old building, guys." Tails announced.
"I really hope Mr. Sonic's okay. I'm so worried." Cream muttered with feeling, with Cheese chirping in sadness and concern as well.
"I'm sure Sonic will be fine. He hasn't not come back yet and I doubt it'll happen now." Amy reassured even though deep down she was gravely worried about her 'boyfriend', before adding. "It's Eggman and Julius I'm worried about."
"I still can't believe Sonic managed to come up with an awesome and hilarious new nickname for Robotnik like Eggman." Manny snickered. "Talk about a classic, man!"
"It does suit him better than even Ro-butt-nik that Sonic's been calling him for years." Knuckles hesitantly admitted.
'I really do hope Sonic is okay, and that Eggman or Julius haven't caught him. Sure he can take care of himself, but still...' Chris thought to himself, worriedly.
The radar then began blaring again which alarmed the group and as the two-tailed fox pilot wondered what was going on now, Cheese then blinked as he felt a very strange sensation, something the little Chao never felt before. It was an odd tingly feeling he couldn't describe, yet at the same time he felt that he should just...listen out and think. Then, somehow automatically closing his eyes as though in a trance, Cheese then began to glow gently and it's little bobble glowed in yellow which caught Cream's attention.
"Huh? Cheese, what's wrong? Why are you glowing like that?" The five year old girl wondered in confusion.
Then even more strangely, the Chaos Emerald within the engine began to strangely glow as well which began to make unusual energy readings through out the X-Tornado, much to everyone else's confusion and alarm.
"Hey, what's going on with the Chaos Emerald?" Tails asked, bewildered.
"Is it picking up another one somewhere?" Chris asked almost immediately.
"No, this is different." The young cub replied. "I can't explain why, but it isn't causing the X Tornado to malfunction like it did when it picked up the energy of the other Chaos Emerald that Eggman stole last night."
Just then Cheese opened his eyes and immediately peered out of the window and chirped in alarm, getting everyone else's attentions as not only the rest of the group saw the little Chao glow, but they also heard screaming coming up behind them and when they all turned to look, they all groaned in dismay as they saw Robotnik in his Egg Mobile, now joined by Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, who were trying to get away from something as quickly as possible.
"Is that who I think it is?" Manny asked, confused and shocked.
"It's Eggman!" Tails exclaimed in dismay.
"Here we go again..." Knuckles deadpanned.
"That guy really doesn't give up, does he?" Chris agreed with an exasperated sweat drop.
"Hey, Eggman! We're busy right now, so go away!" Amy shouted in frustration.
For once, Robotnik was too terrified as he and his robots hovered next to the confused group as they finally saw how scared the four of them looked, while he cried out. "Well, so am I! And unless you brats want to risk in being turned into pancakes, I suggest you run away and warn Sonic of the rampage of an over-grown lizard that's supposed to be in it's billion year old grave!"
"Huh?" The group blinked, completely confused.
"What are you talking about?" The pink hedgehog asked, skeptically.
"Look, I know you won't believe me because we're enemies, but when you see for yourselves, you'll see why!" Robotink cried out frantically.
"It's still coming right for us!" Decoe screamed in terror.
"And we have nothing to do with it's sudden anger! We swear!" Bocoe added.
"It just came up to us and began stomping to try and squash us flat!" Bokkun exclaimed before crying his eyes out. "I wanna go home!"
"Got any idea what these clowns are talking about?" Manny asked Knuckles, pointing at the four with his thumb.
"It's probably just another trick, but they do seem to be serious about this." The red echidna replied.
When Cream and Cheese, who was still frantically pointing at whatever it was that Robotnik's group were running away from, the young girl gasped and cried out. "Look!"
Chris was the first to notice and flinched with his eyes so wide that they looked like they were about to pop out as he nervously announced. "Uh, guys? I think we're in real big trouble...!"
When Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Manny looked over their shoulders to see what the problem was, their expressions matched that of the others as they all cried out in alarm to see the adult brachiosaurus who was still stomping it's way towards them, it's expression still full of anger and perhaps sorrow, fear and worry. Everyone including the evil group all screamed in fright and disbelief.
"Huh!? Where did that big guy come from!? I've never seen that on the island before!" Manny exclaimed in fear.
"It's a dinosaur!" The twelve year old boy exclaimed.
"That's impossible! Dinosaurs can't be alive! They've been gone for billions of years!" Tails exclaimed, wondering if he was having some kind of nightmare after the previous night's disaster.
"That's what I said, until that be brute came chasing these morons!" Robotnik shouted while gesturing at his minions.
"It wasn't our fault!" Decoe protested.
"All we did was just wander around!" Bocoe agreed.
"Yeah, this big thing attacked us first!" Bokkun added.
Cheese, still glowing yet somehow sensing what this dinosaur was doing, somewhat still in a mysterious trance, glowed a bit brighter before he flew out of Cream's arms and much to the confusion and shock of his friends and enemies, suddenly found the strength to open up the hatch before he flew out, much to the heroes' alarm.
"Cheese, wait! Come back!" Cream cried out fearfully, terrified that her Chao would get himself hurt.
"What's going on?" Chris asked, shocked.
"Why is Cheese glowing like that?" Amy wondered, stunned.
"What's with that little Chao?" Bokkun asked, confused, as were Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe.
The little Chao then hovered enough to raise his arms and glowed brightly which somehow reacted to the Chaos Emerald which lit up so brightly that Tails and everybody else had to shield their eyes while screaming as a large sphere of light covered them before it strangely made the X-Tornado, the Extreme Gear and the Egg Mobile teleport from the air and then somehow in a landing position on the ground before it faded away and the Chaos Emerald returned to it's original glow.
In the forest approaching the area, Sonic and the baby dinosaur he was carrying caught glimpse of the light and they gaped in shock, awe and confusion before the light faded.
"Hey, what's going on?" The blue hedgehog asked, now even more worried about his friends and made to go faster to check. That light...it looked familiar. He could even sense it. The energy that only belonged to the Chaos Emeralds and a thought came into mind. "Was that...Chaos Control?"
Back in the new clearing of the forest, everybody else groaned at the strange experience while relieved that they somehow landed safely on the ground but felt nauseous over it.
"Ugh...I don't feel so good..." Chris moaned, placing a hand to his stomach.
"What in the world was that about?" Amy asked, rubbing her head.
"Can somebody please tell me what the heck is going on here?" Manny asked, slumped to the ground with his Extreme Gear next to him.
Knuckles, shaking his head as he felt the familiar energy surging from the Chaos Emerald and strangely enough from Cheese, looked up to see the Chao still hovering in the air while the giant dinosaur continued to approach, the little guy's body beginning to turn back to normal and somehow put the pieces together even though it was downright impossible.
"I don't know why, but somehow Cheese was able to connect himself with the Chaos Emerald to perform Chaos Control." The red echidna muttered, surprising his friends.
"Chaos Control?" The human boy of the group asked, confused.
"I think Knuckles is right." Tails began, gazing at the Chaos Emerald. "Chaos Control is a technque that only requires all of the seven Chaos Emeralds, giving the user the power to teleport or stop a catastrophic event, or even stop time. At least that's what they say. Sonic only used Chaos Control even without saying it to teleport whenever he uses all of the Emeralds, and even then, there's still a lot we don't know about. But what I don't understand is how or why Cheese is able to do that with just one Emerald."
"For once, I agree with the little fox. There's no trace of any writings or readings of Chao being able to use Chaos Control, let alone the Chaos Emeralds." Robotnik groaned as he and his robots attempted to recover, only to feel the quakes which made them all flinch and looked before screaming when they saw the dinosaur now tower over them.
Cheese, a little nervous but somehow fearless at the same time, flew up to it's face and began squeaking at it to get to stop. "Chao chao, chao! Chao chao chao chao! Chao, chao, chao chao chao chao chao chao!"
"Cheese, be careful!" Cream cried out fearfully, unbuckling herself before climbing out and flapped her ears, then flew up to join her best friend, much to the rest of her friends' fears.
"Cream, wait! Don't go near that dinosaur!" Amy cried out, frantically.
"Cream, come back!" Tails and Chris exclaimed.
"Whoa, kid! That's a real life dinosaur and I hate to break it to ya', but it's nothing like in those kids tv shows or movies!" Manny called out.
"Cheese! What's wrong?" The little five year old girl, ignoring her friends, flew up to her best friend who continued to try and communicate with the dinosaur who, after hearing what Cheese was saying and seeing a tiny girl Mobian close to the Chao, stood where it was and surprisingly it's expression softened into that of pure worry and sadness. It made a moan.
"Chao? Chao-Chao." Cheese muttered, feeling sorry for the dinosaur as he somehow understood what it was saying much to the young rabbit girl's surprise.
"You know what the dinosaur's saying, Cheese?" Cream asked.
Cheese nodded and began squeaking and chirping which only she could understand and the more she listened, the more she became shocked and then sympathized, then sad. Even when the little Chao pointed down at Robotnik's group, Cream finally understood and nodded before gazing up at the dinosaur.
"Is that what happened, Mrs. Dinosaur? You lost your baby?" She carefully asked, and the dinosaur, identified as a female and a mother and was surprised that the little girl understood the Chao, nodded and no longer hostile or angry. "Aw, don't cry. My friends and I can help you find her."
"Huh?" Everyone else murmured in confusion that you could see question marks form all around them.
"It's going to be okay, ma'am. I know what it's like." Cream continued, and hovered a bit closer as she and Cheese both began gently patting the giant dinosaur on the nuzzle, which the mother gratefully accepted and nuzzled against the two, making the youngsters giggle at the tickling feeling.
"She speaks dinosaur?" Manny asked, baffled.
"I...don't think so. But it could be that Cream's understanding what Cheese is telling her since he's the one who can understand what the brachiosaurus is saying." Tails theorized.
"That little girl actually understands Chao?" The evil scientist asked incredulously.
"Oh, be quiet, Eggman!" Amy hissed.
"It's Robotnik!" The mad doctor growled, sick and tired of the constant horrid nicknames, as Cream and Cheese came hovering down while the others came climbing out and surrounded her.
"What you did there was reckless." Knuckles scolded, before Amy elbowed him in the ribs. "Ow! Hey!"
"So Cream, what's going on?" Tails asked, curious while very relieved that his friends were safe.
"Cheese says that the Mama Dinosaur lost her baby this morning because of a loud noise that scared them, and she's been looking for her ever since." Cream began, surprising the group.
"A mother and daughter duo of dinosaurs?" Amy asked, stunned.
Cream nodded and continued while gazing at Robotnik and his robots. "She said to Cheese that an evil man with big teeth and a mustache came by eight years ago looking for dinosaurs on the island and built a building here before they were forced to leave, and she thought that Dr. Robotnik and his robots are the ones behind it all. He also said that she had seen his scary eyes that are black and red."
The group stared on in shock and sympathy before gazing at the giant mother, and then they all glared at Robotnik's group who sweat dropped nervously before the four of them backed away.
"Don't look at me! I began my conquest three years ago and that was when Sonic began to stop me. The one this mother dinosaur is referring to is my brother!" Robotnik explained pleadingly while holding up his hand in defense.
"You know, I did hear rumors about a group of nasty guys wearing some kind of armor and using robots were lead by a guy with scary eyes he usually covers with glasses and looks like he's more into a dark ruling country or whatever. I mean, this happened before my parents and I moved here six years ago, so we came two years after that stuff happened." Manny spoke up thoughtfully.
"So, if Eggman isn't behind what's happened with the dinosaurs, then it was the Iron Empire instead?" Chris asked worriedly.
"I don't like what Eggman's saying, but if the resemblance is uncanny, then I can see why the mother mistook him for Julius." Knuckles said, even though he was still doubtful about the whole thing.
"It makes sense, actually." Tails said after thinking for a second. "Why else would the Iron Empire build a secret base here before they were forced to leave?"
"That's just horrible in so many ways. I can't believe the Iron Empire would do such a thing! It's like they have a thing for separating families and tearing them apart for their own sick entertainment!" Amy hissed furiously, disgusted with Julius' dark, twisted and evil ways, with tears beginning to form and leak in her eyes.
"We'd better help the dinosaur mother to find her baby, before Julius comes back." Chris declared, and the Mobians and Chao all nodded in agreement.
"Are you all crazy? You're talking about helping a dinosaur!" Robotnik grunted, only for him, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun to flinch in fear to see the angry looks from the group as well as the mother brachiosaurus who growled. The four of them gulped and crawled back a little whimpering.
Just then, there was another tremor which quickly alarmed the group as they and the enemies looked around before gazing up at the dinosaur who gave out a cry of alarm as she turned to her left.
"What now?" The evil scientist asked nervously, before he, his robots, and enemies looked up to see what the dinosaur was noticing just as a shadow loomed over them and they all looked up to see, to their dismay, a dinosaur shaped and sized robot with a drill-like nose and it gave out a roar at the group as it peered at them as well as the mother.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Tails, Amy, Cream and Cheese, Chris, Manny, even Knuckles, Robotnik, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun all screamed in fear while the giant robot spun it's drill for an attack.
"Sonic, help!" Amy screamed out fearfully.
"Let me at it!" Knuckles grunted, quickly recovering from his shock and leaped out to fight it. When he leaped and punched it in the chest, instead it just knocked him back as he hit the ground hard, grunting in pain.
"Knuckles!" Tails, Chris and Amy cried out worriedly, while the red echidna pushed himself up.
"Look out, Knuckles!" Manny exclaimed, seeing the giant robot about to drill him, much to everyone's horror.
Yet just as it was about to finish off the guardian, Sonic suddenly appeared after gently putting the baby brachiosaurus down and used his Spin Dash to hit the huge robotic monster in the face, making it lose it's focus and drill a large rock instead. Stunned by this, the group turn to see the blue hedgehog land neatly on the ground just in front of the baby who gazed in awe and relief.
"Am I late for the party?" The hero of Mobius greeted.
"Sonic!" Tails, Amy, and Chris cried out happily.
"Mr. Sonic, you came!" Cream cheered.
"Chao, Chao!" Cheese celebrated.
"Took you long enough, hedgehog and before you ask, no, this isn't one of mine! Julius must've sent it!" Robotnik growled in irritation.
"You're welcome." Sonic replied to the evil scientist sarcastically.
The baby dinosaur in the meantime hurried to it's, or rather as unknowingly to Sonic, her, mother while the adult lowered it's neck and licked her child in sheer happiness and relief while the baby nuzzled against her mother's face, which made everyone feel very relieved.
"Sonic, you found the baby dinosaur already?" Chris asked, surprised.
"Yeah, the poor little guy had a thorn in his leg, so I pulled it out and promised I'd find his mom. I'm just surprised you guys found her first." The blue hedgehog shrugged.
"Uh, you're only half-correct Sonic." Tails sheepishly explained. "One, the baby is a she, not a he, and two, the dinosaur mother found us by chasing after Eggman and his robots."
"Huh?" Sonic blinked, before gazing at the reunited mother and child, before sheepishly shrugging as he realized his mistake. "Uh, whoops. My bad."
Just as the robot was about to attack again while getting everyone's attention, Knuckles raced around it and grabbed it's tail, shouting at the others. "Get back! It's not safe here!"
"We'll meet you up in the air!" Tails told him in firm agreement.
"You and your kid better get to safety, ma'am! We'll take care of this robot!" Sonic instructed the mother brachiosaurus who nodded and even as the baby whimpered worriedly over her new friend's safety, she was guided to a safer part of the jungle.
"Sonic, you can burrow my Extreme Gear!" Manny quickly said, handing the blue hedgehog his board before climbing onto the wing of the X-Tornado while the others returned to their seats and Tails began to power up the plane.
"Oh, sweet! Thanks, Manny!" The hero of Mobius replied, hopping onboard and with a bit of a wobble, he quickly got the hang of it and flew-surfed his way up towards the giant robot while Knuckles spun it around so it ended up falling, but also accidentally hitting Robotnik, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun who, deciding to leave, just climbed on board the Egg Mobile only to end up being hit and flown high into the sky.
"NOT US, YOU STUPID ECHIDNA!" Robotnik shouted as he and his robots screamed while being flown away, defeated unexpectedly once again.
"Heh, sorry!" Knuckles called out with a hint of amusement despite that he did feel a bit guilty for accidentally sending the evil scientist's group packing.
"Look out, Knuckles!" Sonic shouted, just as the giant robot was about to claw him with it's claws, but blue hedgehog successfully grabbed hold of the red echidna and carried him into the air, dodging the attack.
Tails in the meantime fired at the giant robot but like the previous Iron Empire's robots, it had a healing ability of self-repairment. Sonic placed Knuckles onto the other wing of the plane while the two-tailed fox maneuvered the plane around as he and the hero of Mobius dodged the giant robot's claws which stretched out to grab them but missed.
"Man, this robot's really tough!" Manny remarked as he mentally enjoyed flying on the X-Tornado's wing.
"Yeah. Julius sure knows how to build his robots a bit better than Eggman's." Sonic remarked in agreement. "You know what? I think it's weakness is in the inside of this thing!"
"Hey, Sonic! Try this!" Tails called up, pulling out a ring from the bag next to his seat which glowed slightly, making Sonic smirk in realization.
"Now we're talkin'!" The fourteen year old declared. "Knuckles, you distract it while I go inside that thing!"
"Okay!" Knuckles smirked.
"Let me help out, too! I've been practicing a few moves myself with my Extreme Gear!" Manny volunteered.
"Sounds good to me!" Sonic agreed.
The robot stood up just as the blue hedgehog landed on the wing and handed his new friend the board back, to which the green hedgehog hopped on and flew towards the robot while Knuckles jumped off and Tails opened up the hatch, tossing the wring to Sonic who caught it in his hand, instantly feeling the Ring's energy flow into his body and unlike the first time, it was pure and like he was holding onto a Chaos Emerald. A bit weaker but still pretty strong. While the red echidna punched at it's body and Manny swished his Extreme Gear to smack it right in the face several times which amazed his new friends, Sonic jumped and performed a super powerful Homing Attack while the robot's mouth opened up.
"Down the hatch!" Sonic declared as he spun right into the mouth/slot which closed up with him inside, and combined with his Homing Attack super charged with the Power Ring's energy, the blue hedgehog wasted no time in smashing it from inside out, attacking it's power-core and smashing it into pieces before bursting himself out of it's body.
The giant robot was then completely destroyed when it exploded into pieces, and everyone cheered happily at the success. While Sonic made to land safely one ground, there was more tremors and to his and everybody else's surprise, the mother brachiosaurus suddenly returned and was in a position that he would land on her head instead.
"Huh? Uh..." The blue hedgehog murmured, blinking in confusion until he noticed the baby brachiosaurus next to the mother, smiling happily at him to which he smiled back and gave it a thumbs up and a wink and then gazed at the mother's eyes, saying. "I know I don't speak dinosaur, but I'm guessing your kid asked you to save me and you decided to do that as a thank you, right?"
The mother dinosaur smiled in a gesture which meant yes, before she gently lowered her head to allow the cobalt teenager to hop off, before he was approached by the baby.
"They thanks, guys. And, sorry that I called you a boy." Sonic said to the baby brachiosaurus, who just shook her head and nuzzled her head onto his, making him laugh once more.
The others in the meantime, landing safely on the ground, smiled happily as Cream and Cheese flew up and happily hugged the mother who nuzzled her head onto their entire bodies.
"You're welcome, Mrs. Dinosaur. See? Everything's okay now." Cream said happily.
"Chao chao, chao!" Cheese squeaked in agreement.
"Looks like everything's back to normal now." Tails remarked.
"Heh, thanks to you buddy. It's a good thing you had that Power Ring on ya', or it would've been harder to take down that robot." The fourteen year old hedgehog pointed out proudly. "Real proud of ya', Tails."
"It was nothing." The seven year old fox replied, before sighing as he frowned in sadness. "Just wish I didn't mess up like I did last night."
"Hey, we'll get that Chaos Emerald back. Just like we're gonna find Cream's Mom and the other people in Floral Forest Village." Sonic reassured comfortingly.
"You know, he's right." Knuckles admitted as, after seeing what happened and finally admitting to himself that he had been hard on the younger Mobian. "Sorry that I was hard on you last night. You sure helped to save the day twice in a row. Thanks, kid."
Tails blinked in surprise at the echidna's apology, before he smiled and nodded. "It's okay, Knuckles, and thanks. Both you and Sonic. You guys are the best."
The two teenage Mobians smiled as did the rest of their friends, glad that things had turned out alright in the end.
"Okay, I gotta know this. How did you guys know the baby is a girl, anyway?" Sonic asked his friends.
"Oh, right! Sonic, something really weird happened while you were looking for the secret base!" Chris remembered, confusing the blue hedgehog. "Cheese and the Chaos Emerald both somehow glowed and both Tails and Knuckles think Cheese used Chaos Control."
"Say what?" Sonic asked, shocked and unable to believe what he was hearing. "That Chaos Control I saw...was Cheese doing that? How can it be?"
"We're not so sure, but one thing's for certain...Maybe Julius is right and Chao really are connected with the Chaos Emeralds." Tails shook his head, while gazing up at Cheese and Cream who were by now greeting the baby dinosaur who happily greeted them back and nuzzling at them.
"Do you think we should be worried? About Cheese being around the Chaos Emeralds, I mean?" Amy asked with uncertainty.
"Good question, Ames. The one thing I know is, the Iron Empire really is up to something. Something very dangerous." Sonic replied.
The more he thought about it, the more he began worry about Cream and Cheese' safeties.
Back in the underwater base, the reports Julius gained from the recent events made him absolutely furious.
"What do you mean the Gizosaurous is destroyed!?" The Iron Empire leader demanded.
"We have lost contact with it a few minutes ago, sir. No doubt that Sonic the Hedgehog has somehow defeated it." The soldier in the intercom replied nervously.
The evil man growled before shouting in pure anger. "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!"
"B-But we have some interesting development form Seaside Island, sir!" The soldier continued quickly, catching Julius' attention as the man growled but listened silently. "There was an activity of Chaos Energy coming from the island, both within the Chaos Emerald installed inside an aircraft as well as the energy coming from the little girl's Chao."
"Is that so?" Julius, hearing this, cooled off instantly when he heard this. Grinning as thought of a brilliant idea, he then ordered. "Report to me more of this if this happens again and be sure to capture that child and her Chao and bring me the Chaos Emeralds."
"Understood, sir." The soldier responded before the call ended.
Once again alone and despite the destruction of his eight year old creation that was left unattended for years, the latest news he got was a good consulation prize as he gazed out of the window once again.
"I was right. Chao really are connected to the Chaos Emeralds. That little girl and her pet are the chosen ones." Julius muttered to himself wickedly. "Very soon, I will have them all and Mobius will be mine. No one, not even Sonic the Hedgehog, will stop me."
The evil man then began cackling darkly to himself once more as he was one step closer of achieving his ultimate goal.
Back to Sonic's group, as everyone were now exiting the suspected empty building but with Tails holding some sort of disk, things were apparently looking up for them.
"You think that little disk will give us a blue on where the Iron Empire's base is?" Amy asked.
"Sure! Before we know it, we'll be able to find them in no time." Tails replied excitedly.
"Now that's what I like to hear." Sonic praised, before he turned to see that, near where he and the others left Chris, Manny, Cream and Cheese with the two Dinosaurs, the latter two were gazing at the mother and daughter with a sad look on their faces. Softly gasping as he realized what this meant, he frowned in sympathy, sadness and guilt before approaching.
Cream, hugging Cheese in her arms, gazed at the mother and daughter dinosaurs and while she felt happy for them, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous and sad, the stark reminder that her mother was still in the clutches of the Iron Empire.
"Mama..." The five year old girl whimpered, only to feel a gloved hand gently resting on her shoulder, making her look up to see that Sonic had approached.
"We'll get her back, Cream. Until then, we'll do everything in our power to keep you and Cheese safe and happy. Just so you know, you're not alone. You've got us, and your mom's still with you. Right in here." Sonic whispered comfortingly, gently pointing a finger at his youngest friend's chest to indicate her heart. "I'm just sorry that you guys got put into danger again."
The response he got was Cream leaping into his chest and hugging him tightly, startling him before the blue hedgehog noticed that the little rabbit girl was crying with Cheese joining in, both to try and comfort his friend and in sadness since he missed Vanilla too.
"I don't wanna lose you, Miss Amy, Mr. Tails, Mr. Knuckles, Mr. Chris, Mr. Tanaka, Mr, Chuck, or-or Miss Ella either, Mr. Sonic...! A-all you p-put yourselves in danger, becase of me...!" Cream sobbed and wept.
"Oh, Cream..." Sonic whispered, his heart breaking into pieces as he could feel tears sting in his eyes, but for her sake, held them back and instead warmly embraced the crying duo closer to him, closing his eyes. "Shhhhh...We won't go anywhere. I promise."
While Sonic still vowed to keep on looking for Vanilla and the other villagers, he could feel the huge impact Cream and Cheese had placed into his life and he cherished it so much, that like with his little brother, parents and friends, he didn't want to lose his two newest friends either.
"It's gonna be okay..." He continued, unconsciously shedding a silent tear as he came to accept the feeling towards his two new friends, who one of them was now like a new little sister he never had, and the little Chao was just as important as a friend and a sibling, like Tails and even now Chris who was like another little brother to him and Sonic feared in losing the human boy as well.
He loved them so much, he would risk his life to save all of them.
'I'll find you, Vanilla. And I'll take care of Cream and Cheese until then, beyond that even with all of us together. I promise.' Sonic vowed in his mind.
This was just the beginning of the more risky adventures up ahead.
A/N: Finally managed to update this story after so long! Sorry for the wait as I hit a writer's block and tried to come up with ideas for episodes before I can start on writing the episodes I've been wanting to do since beginning Sonic DX Adventures.
